Absolutely amazing do not let the portion sizes for you. They look small, but the bowls are deep. I am absolutely stuffed. I started with a blueberry mule mocktail and it was perfection and then I had the small side salad made with carrots, cucumbers, and spring mix and lemon vinaigrette, and it was my favorite I've ever had and then I finished with the Bolognese that has a cream sauce that is to die for. Best Bolognese in town in my opinion. The staff was more than accommodating. I showed up in my work attire, definitely not dressed for this restaurant and from the hostess all the way to my server and bartender and everyone treated me with the upmost respect. They moved me to a better table, and for the inconvenience gave me another mocktail. This is absolutely my favorite absolutely 100% amazing. We've given this spot a few tries now and it just has not hit for us. The first time we went was actually great. We loved Mora so we decided to try its sister restaurant, the Americano. This was years ago, before the speakeasy existed. I remember we were greeted at the table with glasses of champagne. Service was impeccable, food was delicious. We had one of the best desserts of our lives. 10/10 first impression. We went back maybe a year later after the speakeasy was built in, and it seemed like all their attention went to that instead. They were out of a bunch of dishes on the menu. I remember we all got our food except for my husband and we finally had to ask the server what was going on with his dish and that's when they told us they were out of that dish he had ordered too. They offered to make something else on the house, but at this point we were all almost done with our food so he ended up with nothing. They did try to make it right, I'll give them that, but it was a weird experience. We decided to give the restaurant one last try for my mom's birthday over the weekend and it solidified our opinions on this place. First of all, it's EXPENSIVE. I get it's Scottsdale but they are trying way too hard with $80 ribeyes and $1500 bottles of wine, but not giving you anything for it. Don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy an expensive meal when I feel it's warranted. The food, service, details need to go above and beyond to justify my $500+ tab. That's just not the case here. The server didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Didn't even offer a birthday dessert? We ordered salads before our meals and our entrees showed up two minutes later. My sister had her leftover pasta boxed up and they never brought it back. She asked about it and they said they could fire her a new one, but we were ready to go at this point. These are not issues you should be having at an upscale restaurant at this price point. After all this, we won't be returning. The food items are small portions so make sure you order more than one thing from the menu (happy hour is even smaller). I'd like to talk about the happy hour. Food ranges from $3-$9, cocktails $9 and house wine $9. The cocktails are small also. We orders 4 different foods from the happy hour menu. We were planning on sharing them but when they came out we realized it was only 1 slider, 1 scallop etc. the only thing that had more than one was the meatball.. I highly recommend on NOT ordering the meatballs.. My first order was so burnt and hard to even cut. I had let the staff know, they noticed it also and I had shown them. It did take another 25 minutes for me to get the meatballs, they just tasted dry and not good. I'm not sure if they are frozen and then put in the microwave or what but the quality of the meatballs were so bad. However the polenta that comes with the meatballs was delicious. Also I had ordered the chicken slider from them menu , it was raw in the middle and burnt on the crust. I had shown the staff this also. They told the kitchen to make another. It came right after the meatballs. The scallop crisp and lobster slider was better! I'd recommend those two items! The crafted cocktails are so GOOD!! For drinks I would recommend the vita Mia if your prefer something sweet & the May Day if you like whiskey ! A truly lovely experience, and a great place for dinner with your significant other or friends! I ordered the Roasted Half Chicken, which was a big heap of protein that also came with some fingerling potatoes and a delicious rosemary jus sauce. To start the food is always amazing even after the menu revamp it's still good (especially because I was skeptical) and drinks. The bartenders are amazing however we are sad our normal peeps have left. Tonight Sean KILLED it with us and so glad he was still there since first meeting him on Halloween. Honestly the reason for 4 stars is the fact the drunken wifey is gone and the 3% credit card fee. We have been coming here for a little over 5 years and never had to pay that. Wild change and slightly bs. You already charge a lot for food and drinks (increases over the years are noticeable with management changes) but when you always have a rather large bill usually $700-sometimes over $1000 depending on the kind of evening we're having it is going to be very noticeable. A change like that needs to be more obvious, minus a little print at the bottom of the menu. No one even noticed (since we really didn't need the menu to order) nor did our server. It truly makes me want to give you a three star but I can't discredit the hard working staff and people in the kitchen, as it is clearly the change of new management and the "rebuild" from the beginning of the year. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful! We appreciated the fresh flowers on the host desk, the artistic dishes wall in the entrance, and the cozy booth. We were seated right away (with a reservation). Our server took good care of us throughout the evening. Attire is business casual. We had the pesto pasta, the half roasted chicken, and the steak frites. My dad said the pesto pasta was delicious! The presentation of the chicken was beautiful. The steak frites was perfectly cooked, the fries were fried well, and the peppercorn sauce was finger-lickin' good (or maybe fork-lickin' good). We let the waitress know before we sat that it was my dad's birthday, and she brought a small bowl of ice cream with a chocolate appliqué lettered with "Happy Birthday" and a lighted gold candle. The Americano was everything I wanted and more!! We had a very special Christmas dinner here and our server made sure that the night was perfect. He was also super friendly and it was lovely chatting with him and the rest of the team. The food was all truly spectacular! The swordfish was the best I have ever had! My aunt also said the salmon was the best she has had in AZ. We also tried their focaccia, crostini (which was eggplant and proscuitto that night, it was so, so good), and the spaghetti pomodoro. We went back again since we really liked it last time. The restaurant is so beautiful, even more during the holidays. I didn't like my drink too much last time, so this time I tried the Versace on the Floor. It was definitely one of the most unique cocktails I have had, with an olive oil basil foam on top. The food was excellent again. They changed the menu a bit since last time. This time we tried the meatballs and scallops, both good. The new dish was the lobster risotto. It was so delicious, I highly recommend it. The steak was very tender. We ordered it family style and they slice it up into pieces so we can share. We had to get the tagliatelle bolognese since we thought that was the best dish last time. It didn't disappoint! The only dish we did not like this time was the spaghetti. It was overcooked, but they replaced it with another tagliatelle. The service was very good this time. Our server was attentive and quick. However, I will say that I noticed both times we went that the girls up front are not very friendly. The Americano has been a go to for hubby and I for a few years now but after our visit last night, it may be time to move on. To start, it seems they've "upgraded" the menu and made quite a few changes. I get it, sometimes you need a change, but it seems they've removed some of their iconic items like the Versace on the Floor cocktail and the veal entree. The VOTF drink is the main reason I go to The Americano tbh and the table next to us came for 2 specific dishes and were also surprised to find they're no longer on the menu. Ultimately we went with the pork chop, the burger, the potato puree and the mushrooms diane. The entrees were good, bun on the burger was a little soft to stand up to the burger so it's more of a knife & fork sitch and they don't put crispy shallots on the potato puree anymore. Tableside tiramisu was a wonderful end to the meal however. As for decor and ambiance, they have kept their overall vibe of upscale, modern, and edgy. I will say their dining room seating has changed though to cram even more tables in and they are small! Also they used to have amazing, boutique-y coordinated soaps and air freshener in the bathroom and now the soap is just whatever cheap, buy in bulk offering their typical supplier is offering. Lastly, service was always immaculate, even in the middle of the dinner rush, and last night it was kinda slow. They were definitely in a post Valentine's Day daze, as they got in the middle of their rush it took longer and longer for our server to get back to us. For the money spent, I know we can get excellent service and top notch menu offerings at many other places. I think we saw examples of each while eating there. We started with the burrata and mortadella appetizer and the little ligurian bread pieces were the standout. So good. I picked this place out for my close friends birthday dinner. Amazing service and food! I had been here a year prior for a separate birthday celebration. I have seen both ends of affordable and extravagant ways to enjoy the Americano. Both were awesome. The most recent experience was July 11 2026. The server was very knowledgeable on the menu, especially for my gluten free friend, and wine. Got the perfect amount of food to share (pictured below filet carpaccio). I also got oysters which were delicious! The entree I ordered was the Spaghetti Pomodoro, not too heavy was the perfect dish. And my favorite part of the night was the new manager of the Americano. If you want good food and excellent service, this is the restaurant for you. We went on a Tuesday night and we got there early, they sat us right away. There were no problems. The ambience was great. It was dark and moody. This place is definitely romantic. If you want to impress a date, I would recommend this restaurant. Our server was amazing. He recommended at least one item from every single section, which made ordering for us really easy. I would highly recommend getting the house made focaccia. It is 10 out of 10! For the entrée we ordered the New York strip with the potato purée. The portion was big enough for two people to share. The steak was cooked perfectly and they actually cut it up for us, which was really nice. I would recommend getting a sauce flight. It was really fun to try for sauces with the steak. For my drink I ordered the watermelon vodka drink called "I'll have what she's having" it was super delicious. Food was OK for me. My friends seemed to like it but my entire was underwhelming. The appetizers we ordered were a mix between great and OK. The short rib was amazing. Cheese board I didn't feel it focaccia was delicious. For the entree. Majority of our group got some sort of a pasta. I didn't hear any comments, everyone seemed happy with it. I ordered the sea bass. It was well cooked but lacked seasoning for me. Saw a salt and pepper shaker on the counter next to us and I grabbed it. Made it a bit better. Not sure what else was missing some I treats flavor or something. It just missed a kick for me. I've been here a few times before and the food is unremarkable. The drinks- they try hard to be creative but I got a big cup of shaved ice for $20 some odd dollars and was miffed. But I knew that from the get when my friend and I decided to go. But this time was the straw that broke the camels back. We won't be back. We came here early on a Saturday evening for a quick stop before heading elsewhere. The hostesses at the front desk completely dismissed my friend when she asked for a table for two. I was in parking lot getting in as this occurred. My friend has literally traveled the world and eaten at the most exclusive places. To come here and to be treated this way- just snooty, unwelcome behavior- it's not okay. On top of that, as we waited for a seat to open (we were still going to make the best of it) we went to the restroom and it was absolutely filthy. That was the last, last straw. We looked it over and nothing looked appealing. Service: Not good. Water and soda cups were empty. At one point, son's water and soda cups empty. Waitress did not offer any recommendations nor interact with us in any positive way. Seems silly, but that's the level expected from Steak 44, Buck and Rider, Maestro's,etc. You are paying a premium for good food and a 20%+ tip on a bill is a hefty sum: so act like it! Date night at a new place! My husband, Dan, and I have made a list of so many great restaurants in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area that we have never had a chance to get to. So each week we pick a new place and GO. The Americano was our first one and they COMPLETELY spoiled us for all the others. We cannot wait to go back! The moment you open the door to enter, your experience begins. We were greeted with big smiles and an eagerness to get us started. We sat at a high top in the bar area and loved the view of the amazing decor. The sculpture art and lighting was perfect as was the music, Chet Baker playing and singing, set the perfect date night mood. Our server was Sunny and she absolutely lived up to her name in so many ways. Sunny informed us on the menu and even helped us choose between various options. We started with cocktails from the bar (Ketel on the rocks for me, Hendrick's/Tonic tall for him) and the rosemary foccacia. The foccacia was lightly toasted and came with whipped ricotta and a tomato confit. It was lightly crunchy on the outside and so soft and warm on the inside. YUM! For our entrees I chose the Faroe Island Salmon with a butternut squash caponata on a zucchini pesto sauce and it was cooked perfectly medium (firm but moist) and the toppings/sauce married together perfectly for one incredible bite. The portions were generous and I ate the whole thing (which doesn't happen often). Dan had the Campanelle ala Vodka with crispy prosciutto. That's his favorite pasta sauce but this version became his new favorite. Often it can be over-garlicky but the chef at Americano's version is super fresh flavored, bright, and light though creamy. Not sure how they do that, but they do! He at all of his too and jokingly asked for a box for the left over sauce. :) We wanted for nothing. The staff is so attentive but not overly. It was fun to hear others around us laughing and having a good time as well. We saw someone nearby get the hand pulled mozzarella and it looked AMAZING as did the tableside Tiramisu. The atmosphere is classy and fun, the server was excellant and each of our party of four was happy with all of the food choices. The TAGLIATELLE WAGYU BOLOGNESE was delicious and not filling for a pasta dish, the 16 oz Ribeye was prepared perfectly and my wifes Chillean Sea Bass was also a big hit. The appetizers of OCTOPUS PANZANELLA was great, the OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHELL was a bit meh but not a poor choice by any means. The cocktails; DRUNKEN WIFEY (made with El Tequileño Tequila, House-Made Limoncello, Elderflower, Italian Herbs), WHITE LOTUS (Vodka, Vanilla and Pamplemousse Giffard, Lychee, Lime) and NITRO ESPRESSO MARTINI (Ketel One Vodka, Borghetti, Passport Cold Brew, Mesquite Honey) were tasty as well. We had a wonderful date night dinner at the Americano this past Sunday evening. After a splendid hour at the speakeasy downstairs we emerged to the restaurant at 6 pm. Our server, Abriel C., provided us with a perfect amount of service and help with the menu. The Caesar salad was delightfully chilled and tasty. My Spaghetti Al Pomodoro was one of the finest past dishes I've had locally. It packed a spicy punch which made me absolutely happy. My date mentioned her salmon was likewise lovely. By the way the DO have sorbet for a lighter dessert (not on the menu). OVERALL an amazing datenight for us. We will be back. read more

We had an outstanding experience sitting at the bar for Happy Hour. First, the restaurant is beautiful. Secondly, the service staff were all extremely attentive and helpful. Honestly, sooooo disappointed by my experience here. We came for my best friends birthday. To start, it took 20 min to get our drinks....then when the food came it was mediocre at best. The Mac and cheese was not good. The noodles were SO hard and lacked flavor. My steak was overcooked (I asked for medium). Then we ordered another round of drinks and shots....again we were waiting forever so I ask where the drinks are? Our server said oh I figured since you ordered the shots you didn't want you drink anymore....not sure why he'd assume that but okay. The best part was the Cesar salad. The meatballs were okay. David, our server, was 10/10 stars. He was knowledgeable of the foods and how they were prepared, as well as the wines and how they would pair with different foods. He was intelligent, personable, respectful. And the food, right? We ordered the wood fired pork belly with Calabrian chilis as an appetizer to share. It was perfectly crisped, succulent, smooth, slightly smoky and the chilis added a nice contrast to the richness of the meat. We also tried the pork shank, Bolognese, and a nightly salmon over a bed or risotto. The pasta was incredibly fresh and the Bolognese hit all the right notes. Honestly, it was probably the best I have tasted in any restaurant, a classic Bolognese prepared with some higher end meats. The salmon was perfectly prepared, a generous 9 oz portion. It was had a crispy exterior but was tender and moist inside. The risotto was creamy and rich with shaved raw asparagus and fennel. I initially thought the raw presentation odd but it did pair well with the risotto. We sampled two desserts and, honestly, they were not favorites. The lemon ricotta cake was dry and lacking lemon flavor, although the sorbet was fresh, bright, and lemony. The cheesecake was rich and dense, smooth texture with a rather odd caramel sauce. It was slightly grainy and I couldn't quite work out its intent. I'd probably skip dessert in the future. Normally I would take off a star for the desserts but the experience kept me at a five. Overall, I'm excited to add The Americano to our dining options and look forward to our next meal. read more

I'm so beyond disappointed you have no idea. I'm a regular at their upstairs restaurant and this was my very first time downstairs. Because our incompetent waitress didn't put in our order we were forced to leave because of a time limit. Ridiculous. Insane. Zero respect. Never going back to either restaurant. Avoid at all costs. This "joint" and Americano. Furious and embarrassed. And they were DEAD! read more
