The dill pickle potato salad was okay. But let's get to these sandwiches. Meaty, juicy goodness. The sandwich that I got was a special called the King of the Rodeo. Meatloaf, bacon, white cheddar, BBQ sauce, crispy fried onions and ranch on sourdough. OMG! Put this on your regular menu, Newfangled! My wife got the Joe Brrr, essentially a Turkey Reuben. We went for the first time today and it will not be our last. Food, service and value is excellent. Kind of a little hole in the wall place but very clean. I had the Fang which is an huge hit meatloaf sandwich which was absolutely incredible. The toppings were fresh and the Fang sauce was tremendous. The bun it came on was very good as well. My wife had a ham sandwich with lettuce and tomato on white bread. There was a generous portion of ham with fresh lettuce and tomato so she could only eat half of it. Was in the mood for a sandwich and was following my traditionof trying new places while on the road for my daughter's softball tournaments. Found this place via yelp and did not disappoint. Cute little area and the packs a flavorful punch. I loved the vending machine that didn't stock food but rather books and other knickknacks. It was a nice touch. I got my daughter a basic turkey with mayo and lettuce and she loved it. And she's kind of particular about her sandwiches so that says a lot. Couldn't decide between two sandwiches so I bought them both. Figured I would have lunch the next day as well. I Did the Belle Donna which was basically a grilled vegetable sandwich which was delicious. Portobello mushrooms tasted amazing And everything and melted together perfectly. My turkey sandwich was basically a spicy version of a Turkey Reuben . Everything was fresh, the bread was amazing and I can see why this place has the reputation that it does. Wow. All I can say is 5 stars on every level. Nicest people, beautiful day with street/front sidewalk seating, delicious sandwiches and drinks. This family run restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. My mom is handicapped, so trying new places with her can be difficult. This establishment made us feel welcome and were accommodating in every way to her ADA needs. In addition, the bathroom was spotless! We ordered a rueben and tuna along with chips and potato salad. Everything was superb, but the Reuben was the star. We would like to return and try the meatloaf options and chicken salad and I wont be happy until I have that Reuben again. Also one thing that stuck out to me..the young man (son of the family) was working the register and he had the best customer service (rare these days!!). Everything went well! We stopped by for lunch after visiting a couple local estate sales. The service was friendly and fast. It was a simple ordering process with a board out front and a hand held menu as well. This is not a sit down restaurant, primarily takeout but there is some seating outside. It was a sunny day (yay!) in Ohio so we sat outside. Our two sandwiches were amazing. I had the Bella Donna and my husband had Lucifer's Hammer. We also had some of the dill potato salad as well as the Carolina Kettle chips. My sandwich was a grilled portobello with roasted red pepper and cheese. The fang sauce is wonderful and has a great flavor. The potato salad has just the right amount of dill and the chips were unique too as the were salt and balsamic vinegar. Overall very good place for a sandwich and we will return for more great options when we return to the area. read more

From the many Yelp reviews, I was probably thinking the restaurant was a bit different. My colleague and I went there for lunch. I had the Bella Donna which is a pepper, onion and mushroom sandwich with cheese and a special sauce. It was excellent. They appeal to a wide audience of sandwich and snack eaters as well as vegetarians or vegans. They serve beverages from a refrigerated cooler. Their staff works hard and is very friendly. We were able to find parking just outside the restaurant. It's mainly set up for pick-up or GrubHub/DoorDash. We wanted to eat in, but we could only eat outside at one of their 3 large picnic tables that can be shared with others. I like the speed of service and convenience of parking as you can park anywhere in Giant Eagles parking lot and just walk over. Both times I got meatloaf but next time I'd like to try their other offerings. This place is a nice change of pace from the other run of the mill chain sandwich making places in the vicinity. This spot makes quality sandwiches like Brown Bag Deli but much closer and more convenient. 4 stars for even the smaller bags of chips being almost HALF of the price of the sandwiches. Come on now, 75% of a bag of chips is JUST AIR anyways. I don't know if their bag of chips prices is because of "inflation" or what but they should also understand that folks can walk feet from their restaurant into Giant Eagle and get a cheaper bag of chips ‍.Also 4 stars for not offering any type of combos with chips and a drink. Unfortunately, the only seating is outside and mostly not in the shade. There were three tables with only one was in the shade and that one was taken so we had to eat lunch under the blazing hot sun at noon time. They were in the restaurant, cooking up the delicious food when we went. The guy behind the register was very friendly and helped with all the recommendations. I got Newfangled for take-out after stumbling on it while looking for deli's in the area. Their website is extremely easy to navigate, and you can place an order for pick up right through the site, selecting "pay at the store" so you don't have to put a credit card down up front. I went with the 'Devil went down to Georgia' sandwich and a bag of balsamic vinegar chips. The sandwich comes with turkey, jalapenos, cole slaw, pepperjack cheese & diablo sauce rye bread. It was ready right when I got there, 10-15 minutes after the order was placed. The inside is quaint, but has limited seating. There are some picnic tables outside. The sandwich had a huge portion of deli meat, and the jalapenos gave it a nice kick. I wasn't able to taste the coleslaw, so it was probably either a very small portion or just overshadowed by the hefty amount of turkey. The diablo sauce was really good though. Side note, by the time I drove back to work to eat it (~10 minutes), the bread was a bit soggy, but if I would've eaten it right away that probably would not have been the case. Lastly, the balsamic vinegar chips were a bit disappointing. They were all vinegar with little to no balsamic flavor. The chips are from a company called "Carolina Kettle" though so I can't knock Newfangland as they don't make them. Overall the sandwich was alright, however at $12.50 for only a sandwich and below average chips (no drink), this place gets 3 stars in my book. read more

When I say that their Shipyard Tuna Melt is the best tuna melt I've ever had, I'm not lying. Maybe even the best sandwich--or best lunch I've ever eaten. I moved away from Columbus about a year ago and this sandwich is still on my mind. That's how good it is. Tuna salad, mayo, dijon, mustard, pickles, and melted white cheddar on marbled rye. I ordered the shipyard tuna melt and chocolate kettle cookie, to-go. I bought the last cookie. The staff were nice while taking my order. The sandwich was good. Cookie was ok. I like the concept of sweet & salty. It's just the chips on it wasn't as crunchy. I certainly got my tuna fix. This is a rather late review. One I forgot to post. They also have grilled cheese as well! I have been here several times and it is always such a good experience. There is no indoor seating but there are 2 picnic tables and a small 2 seater table on the sidewalk that is nice to stay at when the weather is nice! Been meaning to check out Newfangled since I moved over to the east side. This was the perfect lunch after running errands all morning. I order the Chatty Kathy (add pickle). It was honestly one of the better chicken salad sandwiches I've had. I think the bacon really set it off. Also their pickles are slightly sweet so that went really well with the chicken salad. Their online ordering is also pretty easy and they've got socially distant pickup. My bag was waiting for me at a table near the entrance so I didn't have to fully walk in.
