Actually one of the best places to dine in the Everett, WA area. I've lived here for 4 and 1/2 years (North of Everett) and never discovered it until a girlfriend suggested it. My first trip I had the fish tacos! Excellent choice - lots of delicious food for a solid price - i.e. good value for the $$ The second time I was here was equally good as was my third visit which was for Brunch on the weekend. Love the funky atmosphere with the "trophys," on the walls. The wait staff is attentive and manages to cover a lot of tables for as slim as they are staffed. I really, really want to love Buck's, as I have been going there for decades. I know it has changed hands a couple of times in the last decade, but the other night, we had a disappointing dinner, which is so rare at Buck's! Also, their bar menu had no prices. When we asked about the prices, we were asked "which wine are in interested in?" Well, I'm interested in the prices of all of them, so I can pick an inexpensive one, so please can I see all of the prices? I was brought a print out of the prices, but it made me feel uncomfortable and cheap to have to ask. JUST PUT THE PRICES ON THE MENU! I was with a group of eight plus a toddler for Fathers Day brunch today. I ordered Eggs Benedict which come with some kind of potatoes. The egg part was pretty flavorless. The potatoes were not cooked well-they were crunchy and not in a good way-they also were bland. I tried the pancakes and they were clearly not made from scratch-they were terrible! Our server wasn't very friendly and service wasn't great, either. At least the assistant or busser smiled-a nice touch. My impression is Bucks is a business that sees no need to try hard, or really at all. There are other options around the area-I will use them in the future. read more

Pains me to leave this low review because we have been patrons of Bucks since the early 90's. Tonight's meal could not be put to the side like the last few we've had there. The quality has gone down hill fast! Tonight's special was halibut and crab for $32. For $32 I expected decent quality. I got previously frozen, poor quality, chewy, fish with mush on top. Before we got the bill both my daughter and I agreed $15 would be a fair price for the poor quality meal, $32 is too much!!! Came here for a Sunday brunch recently and had a pretty good meal for a decent price. The place wasn't super busy, but waited a few minutes to be greeted. When we were shown to a table the chair I was about to sit in had a dirty wash rag for cleaning tables. I swapped chairs with an empty one from another table, easy-peasy. The food was all very good. I had the biscuits and gravy and you get two very large, fluffy buttermilk biscuits. The gravy had a decent amount of sausage in it and was pretty flavorful, it just didn't come with enough of the gravy for the size of these biscuits. I also added an order of bacon, which was cooked to the perfect level of doneness for me, not overly done and crunchy, but also enough that it was cooked up so the fat wasn't translucent. My wife had their burger, and while it wasn't too groundbreaking topped with lettuce and tomato, and cheese for .50 more, it was high quality meat and cooked very well. It came with a big pile of crispy shoestring fries. We came with my folks and they also had the biscuits and gravy, and an order of their pancakes, which was three pretty large ones with butter and warm syrup. To top the meal off we ordered their peanut butter pie, which was a whipped peanut butter on a chocolate cooked crust, covered with peanuts and chocolate sauce. It was like an extra delicious Reese's. If you have room in your stomach, order it. Their mimosa's are less than four bucks and bloody Mary's are only $5.50 and they are nice and strong. Since I don't live in Everett it will probably be a while until I'm back, but it was a good option for brunch, and I'd like to go back to try their dinner menu sometime. read more

We started at the waterfront but it was too busy so we called Buck's and they had room for us. We're regulars at the bar but haven't been there since February. It was the perfect choice. I'm on a low carb diet and knew I would find something on the menu. Turned out to be Blackened Cod & Caesar Salad. His prime rib was pretty good. The lady at the front who greeted us was so wonderful and sweet. Stopped by on the way home from Ocean shores for a nice dinner in Everett. Excellent service, my husband ordered Halibut and chips, now we order this a lot from various places; hands down the best ever. Halibut was generous and the beer batter was thin and puffy, not greasy or heavy... excellent. Fish tacos were generous made with mahi mahi. One of the BEST places to eat in Everett! We have been there several times but today, in the midst of the COVID pandemic, we decided to get take out because we really miss going out to dinner! So, we called, placed our order and then drove in to grab it. We walked in to pick it up and there was James, in the kitchen cooking! The servers are always helpful and cheery. The price on the appetizer menu was more to my liking because it is my usual dinner price range (did that make sense?) The basket of complimentary bread was warm, rustic and delicious. We got the calamari for an appetizer, the calamari was good, tender, the coating was perfectly seasoned... But it is served with diced tomatoes and feta sprinkled on top and fried pita. It just seemed like a strange dish, it was missing a sauce for sure. I had the duck breast with mashed potatoes, the duck was cooked perfectly, the skin extra crispy and the wine and fig reduction with it was out of this world. Best duck I have ever had at a restaurant. Their mashed potatoes were delicious also. My husband had the black and blue steak salad, the steak was tender and very flavorful, he had two of those amazing bloody Mary's. The teenager had the blue cheese burger, wow they were not shy with the blue cheese! But he liked it. My nephew ate a basket of bread while we waited for our food, he ordered the kids Mac n cheese, it was so good, just like I make it, super cheesy!! Our food getting to us was really slow, but we were never ignored and never felt forgotten, so I did not mind waiting, it gave me time to sip my wine. I LOVED this place after going there on a whim one evening. The name sounds hick-like, but the ambiance is nice (though it does have deer heads tastefully hung on the wall). It has EXCELLENT food!!! I ordered the Chicken Parmesan which was DELICIOUS, and the fettucini alfredo that came with it had the BEST alfredo sauce I've been able to find. I just so happen to be staying at the sad excuse of a hotel just down the street from this place. I have to say, the fact that this place is in such close proximity to the Best Western made me wary, but it looked nice enough to me. I stopped in this afternoon and I found most seats taken with business lunchers and quickly greeted by a nice waitress and seated just as fast. Looking at the menu, the prices are a touch high, but the food that was coming out of the kitchen did look very good. The nice waitress told me the specials and the only one that stuck out (for frugality's sake) was a Prime Rib grilled cheese with Creamy Garlic Tomato soup for $7. I hastily said I would like that please. I have to admit, I did not expect great things from a soup / sandwich combo for under 10 dollars. Boy was I wrong! The prime rib was done perfectly and seasoned just right with a nice sharp cheddar holding it in place along with the very generous slices of a wicked tasty multi-grain bread. The soup really was the kicker though. It was just a small cup of it, but it was the single greatest tomato soup that I have ever had. I could not get enough of it. I loved it. The garlic taste was superb and the creamy tomato was smooth and delectable. Walking out of a restaurant after getting that kind of a meal with only a ten spot missing in my wallet is a great thing. Bucks is an overall great dining experience. Service is phenomenal and usually a pretty special experience. The atmosphere at bucks is beautiful and the place only has room for less than 66 so it's a very intimate. The food is always great with an excellent selection of great American options. My all time favorite dish was the Pork Oso Bucko. Unfortunately, they recently removed it off the menu. The visual feast you received as well as the flavor was out of this world. Tonight, I split a 12 oz Prime Rib with a friend. We had it prepared with a little pink and it was like butter in terms of texture. It was everything you'd expect from an upscale dining experience in Bellevue but with the convenience of it being close to home. I hold a special place in my heart for the Garlic Mash potatoes that are included! Btw, if you are going for lunch or want a bite to eat while drinking you cannot go wrong with the Blue Cheese Burger! Yum! Overall, love this establishment! read more
