Always great food at a very fair price. The staff is excellent. If you easily get offended by a restaurant that is busy due to the excellent staff and the excellent food then maybe go somewhere that isn't busy and does not have good food and good people. I first played at this bar in 2015 or 2016. This venue taught me to never judge a book by it's cover. It is one of the best listening rooms in the area. The fans that frequent Buck's will also travel to see you in surrounding towns. They actually "support live music" in here. Quiet and respectful crowds who listen to the show. I always love eating their cheeseburgers and their fried pickles are badass. Highly recommend this roadhouse-esque, family-run business. If you've been thinking of making that short drive out 92, do it. Tell them I sent you. read more

The worst prime rib sandwich I've ever had. They didn't trim any of the fat off of it. Yes I know how a prime rib is served with the fat on but not on a sandwich. It was horrible. The AuJus was terrible as well. Trim the fat and change the AuJus to store bought would be my suggestion . If you want to be publicly humiliated and kicked out of a small Bar with no Ac for talking This is your Bar!!! I am a local and have been going to Bucks for years for dinner. I had out of town company come in so I called up to Bucks to see if they had anything going on. I was told there was going to be a band,so we decided to go up for dinner and dancing. When us girls arrived we got a table and ordered some food. We found out there was no band just a country act. We were game. My out of town friends introduced themselves to Buck and told him where they were from out of town visiting. The first act was great we ate sung along, visited, drank and did a little dancing. We were having a great time We went out to smoke and came back in to the head liner Clint Park already singing. We sat down and immediately it was apparent there was an issue. My visitor was yes a little friendly letting him know she was from KC. He promptly told her I don't care where the F$@k you are from sit down!! On the mic publicly. As the owner stood by and watched. As on owner he should have quietly addressed any miscommunications. She sat down and we continued to visit and listen to his music he then again stopped and said are you going to listen to the show or talk. At first I thought he was joking after all we were in a bar. He then told 4 women to shut the F#*k up and leave. Buck stood next to him the whole time and not a word was said. We got up and left with a few choice words. As were were then told to leave the property. I was there with other locals and neither myself or them will ever set foot in his bar again!! This is the most unprofessional conduct for an establishment I have ever seen. I have spoken to other locals who have witnessed similar occurrences. Who gots kicked out or a bar for talking. Not to mention the arrogance of Clint Park. If he can't handle people talking during his show he will not make it very far and bad new travels fast. read more

Went on a Friday night, which is Chicken Fried Steak night, and had the BEST Chicken Fried Steak in a 50 mile radius and best I've had around here in 30 years! Perfectly made! (I know what a REAL Chicken Fried Steak should taste like as I'm an old Southern boy and this one made me homesick!) As a matter of fact everything was perfect! Too bad I can't give 'ol Buck 10 stars! Met some nice people. The wait staff, well every place in Omaha should learn from these ladies! Every time one would pass us, they would ask if we needed anything! We'll be making Buck's a regular place. The rest of you stay away so I don't have to wait! LOL If you find anything to complain about here, then the problem is more than likely YOU! hahaha If you like good 'ol down home cooking, then this is the place for you! The staff was awesome and the food was good bar food! The management broke it for us though. During a live performance on NYE night we were told to "be quiet and just listen" while we were eating and chatting (not being crazy or anything like that...we were simply talking and laughing seated at our own table!) Needless to say, we then ate the cost of the tickets and left for a place we could actually socialize without backlash. What a downer :( read more

Had the food this time. I had a burger. It is not as good as Stella's or Dinker's but it is plenty fine. The reason to go to Buck's is for the music. As noted in the OWH, Buck has a talent for booking up-and-coming country music bands. He also books the best local talent. We saw Aaron Copeland (the living) and this guy and his band are going to be stars. From his newest album (100 miles from Sunday) he could have three or four hits. He is a cross between Lyle Lovett and Kris Kristoffersen (A Star is Born edition). He is that good. His talent reminded me of the first time I saw Doug McDermott play basketball for Creighton. So get to Buck's for great music and good food. Everybody - and I mean everybody - goes to Buck's. You will have fun. read more

Fantastic!! The prices are amazing and the steaks are SO GOOD!! I'm even going so far as to say Drover good (or better!) but at literally half the cost. Hidden gem!! Live music was great and added an extra layer of fun to dinner. Off the beaten path but try it and you will not be disappointed. Our friend ordered the prime rib "stupid cut" and it was ginormous!!! I wish I had taken a picture. I have never seen such a huge cut in my entire life. He said it was delicious. And I think it was only like $40. You get so much food for the money here. Buck's takes pride in its "dive bar" moniker, and I love its don't-give-a-damn attitude. I get a little tingle when I step into Buck's dark, almost dingy environs, kind of like I was a little kid exploring a scary cave on a dare. It's even better when I'm greeted by an amp-heavy band assaulting the eardrums. What do you want, cloth napkins? I'll take Buck's tattooed waitresses, noisy ambiance and down-to-earth menu. I'd fight my way in if some fancy-pantsed Yelp critics set up a blockade to keep me away. Buck's recently got a "Standard" rating by the county health department -- the second-highest one below "Excellent." I wouldn't care if Buck's got a mere "Okie-Dokie" rating. I was at the bar for 5 minutes until I was asked what I wanted, so I ordered a red beer. I got that and a menu, and then I was ignored for 20 minutes and never asked again what I wanted. After encountering a 45-minute wait at a local sports bar in West Omaha, my husband and I said forget it! He took me to Buck's, saying he'd been in there a time or two on his bike. If you're looking to get out of town, and experience some homey and a little divey charm- Buck's is it! The place was hoppin' as they were setting up for a country band later that evening. Tables were full of people devouring their homemade Chicken Fried Steak special. Drinks were stout and arrived quickly, as our very friendly waitress buzzed around the floor. My husband had the Chicken Fried steak, after trying a few bites- I decided it was delicious as well! The buffalo wings were just average, but the burgers are really where it's at! We chatted with the owner outside, who seemed genuinely thankful that folks were stopping in from Omaha. When we left, our table was quickly taken over by folks in for the band. If you get there later, you might have a hard time finding a table! Just one tip for Bucks- the ONE stall in the Women's restroom isn't going to cut it, when you've got a bar full of women drinking and dancing to country music! Just a short drive out of town, this bar offers a feeling of home for this small town girl. Went with some friends to see Sunny Sweeney during, and this rude table of city folk tried to ruin it for everyone. One time I was at Buck's and I left with a 5 gallon bucket full of cash because Tennessee Jet, Ward Davis, and Cody Jinks crashed my show, stole my guitar, played their songs, passed the tip bucket, and ultimately gave me not only one of the best stories of all time but one of the best performances I've ever been a part of. Now I'm not saying the same thing is going to happen to you, but I will say this: that won't ever happen at Applebee's. Buck's is a place unlike any other. It's a place where dreams come true, where friends become family, where a random Friday night becomes a memory you hold onto forever. And they make a damn fine steak. Chicken fried chicken sandwich is the best! The best thing about Bucks are the bands as well as Buck himself and his wife, Tara too! We go every Friday night and have seen everyone from Cody Jinks to Whitey Morgan play here - so fun! The specials are really good as well. I saw some reviews about the restrooms but those have been renovated and are just fine now. If you are looking for a fun night out where you can chat with friends and listen to good music then come to Bucks for the music only. If you are caught so much as whispering between songs your group will be shushed and approached by staff to "keep it down." This happened to three different groups seated next to us as well as our group. It was unfortunate as this was our fifth time there and this had never happened before but will not be going back.
