First time here, saw a Toby Keith tribute band. My gf told me it's a new owner since she was here last, said it used to be super dirty; the bathrooms are pretty clean. Bring ear plugs if you have sensitive ears; it's not a super huge place & the band is too loud for the size building. They only have a very small food menu, we had dinner elsewhere beforehand. Overall an ok experience, one of the bartenders at the side bar, long brown hair, glasses, extremely rude to people & myself, not a job to have if you're not a people person, the other girl was smiling constantly. I ordered bang bang shrimp, Cuban sandwich, and churros. I haven't eaten all day and wanted something new. Tell me how do you mix up my order and give me something else? I didn't want tacos!!!! If I wanted tacos I would've went to the taco truck off of Pine Island to get authentic tacos. And who puts buffalo sauce on tacos, you've gotta be delusional!! Don't get me started on the driest grilled cheese known to man was sent to me, the one i didn't order. It tasted musty and I'm surprised this place is still open but then again they do cater to the drunk. I feel sick to my stomach because they don't deserve to be opened and when I called they ignored and their mailbox was full. What kind of business doesn't answer the phone. New owners are pathetic. Bought tickets for a 7pm show on a Saturday night. We drove over an hour to get there only to find out they decided to move the band to 9pm no notice!! When complained was told it was a non issue. Additionally only had a small 4 item menu and could not even get that right. Our $12 pretzel came out ice cold. Never again. Strongly advise staying far away from this dirty place! If they treat customers like this they won't be in business long anyway! read more

The Buddha has been reborn. Cleaned up and ready to have some fun . Our group of 4 had a reservation for a high top . Small cover $ . Arrived a bit early , had a few appetizers before the show that were tasty . Service was friendly. Loved the band Crown Watts ! I've never seen any band play Pink Floyd , Led Zeppelin, Boston , Elton John , Emerson Lake & Palmer ... and the list goes on , as well as they do . A tribute band of many bands . Our first time at the Buddha and THE BOOTS band burned up the stage. The house was full and ready to dance, drink, sing and have great time. THE BOOTS are stellar musicians and their vocals are the BEST around. Lead singer Kenny Cox is not only a skilled musician, he has real stage presence and knows how to carry the house along with him. Their brand of country includes old and new: Johnny Cash, Travis Tritt, Steve Earle, Merle Haggard, Jon Pardi, Garth Brooks, Kevin Chesney, etc. Needless to say, we will be back on Wednesday nights! read more

As a music venue, it has a chill environment for listening to local bands. The bar is beer or liquor, nothing fancy. What our group really didn't like was the teriyaki wings. They were really salty. We went to see Perfect Sequence and Nirvanna. Security was tight. read more

Modern tech will take you there otherwise and you'll be glad it did. Now I know some of us closet smokers like to toss back a few on a Friday night with some heart thumping music...Guilty as charged..But hey, Its all good right if you can peel off your threads when you get home and not smell like an 80's bar. Perfect right? Think of the evening as an opportunity as a prelude to pillows. Dance? Did I say Dance? So sad that this is what represents SWFL's music scene. It's tired and dated to my ears. I went last Sat, was initially turned down to go in because of a no "wifebeater" wearing rule...though I was actually wearing a tank top, which isn't the Hanes kind that's basically underwear. Yet after going in there's hoards of females wearing tanks and males wearing frayed cut off sleeveless shirts. Guys, it's Florida and it's hot....I for one think it's an idiotic rule to enforce if it's not for EVERYONE! That alone I won't be going back. If you want to go somewhere where the rules don't apply for all and the music is all covers you've heard 1,379 times before-this is the place. read more

Buddha live is THE live music venue in this town! The bands and live entertainment they bring is fantastic. The bartenders are great as well! They have one guy that twirls his curls when he's thinking hard, it's adorable. One lady I think actually came with the building she's worked there so long, but her dance moves are what we come for. The raven hair beauty bartender scares the s*** out of the other female bartender all the time and it's a sight to see on its own ( we're pretty sure the one that gets scared is why they let keep her around cause it's surely not her dance moves). And the last gentleman that waited on us has the longest stories ever but they're always a great one to hear! Oh and the owner I've seen cleaning up the woman's room more times then I can't count without hesitation ( just don't shake his hands right away ) .... And did I mention tacos?!? I think they had someone dressed in a taco suit at one point? Not sure where taco girl went, but I'll continue to search for her! read more

Ah, the Buddha. A place that brings me back to days of high school speculation surrounding what was in that massive statue's belly. Money, the Fountain of Youth, drugs, Jimmy Hoffa, omitted footage from the Zapruder film, KFC's eleven herbs and spices, every classroom hamster that passed away in Lee County elementary schools, Crystal Pepsi, he who put the bomp in the bomp-bomp-bomp? Never knew and never will - it's a protected landmark, which is why, so the story goes, the Happy Buddha Chinese Restaurant forcibly became the Buddha Bar & Grille after purchase almost a decade ago. It's a fun bar and I kill a few double-talls every venture home to see the folks. Things that relegate the Fort Myers icon to A-OKville: - It's abysmally smokey. I realize it's still allowed when liquor constitutes most of a biz's revenue, but that knowledge doesn't refresh up the only pair of jeans I packed! GENIUS THOUGHT: travel Febreze vending machine at the door. Cut me a check, Mother of Invention. - The live music, while appreciated and oft head-bobbed to, nullifies conversation. Completely. On the bright side, I can fingerspell "Y-u-e-n-g-l-i-n-g" in two seconds flat. On the dark side, all bartenders know what I'm asking for. - Finally, the barstaff, even when rolling three deep, need a 'nother round flag down more than they don't. In a rectangular bar with no island, this is unheard of. Love the darts, heavy pours and groupies that Drunk Mom Dance front and center stage. All night. Every night. read more

OK so the Hubs and I live in Miami and on occasion we visit my parents who reside in Cape Coral. We are in our 30's and enjoy outings and new places. We have been looking for things to do in FT Myers at night encountering some disappointment especially with FT Myers Beach which is a ghost town by 11pm. This last time we visited we pulled out our Yelp and came across this place. I am a huge Rock fan! We drive to see FORT ROCK !!! So we figured we should see what this place was about. After reading the reviews we were a bit skeptical. Some guy wrote something to the means of loosing sight on one eye due to a fight others talk about groping, lack of security ect. So who wouldn't be a little freaked out going in there? But Whatever we went for it. The place: OK soooo we get there I am already freaked out because the place looks like a dark, building from the 70's. The first person we see is a guy in his 40's and a lady about the same leaving by 11. After debating whether to go inside or run... we decided to just do it! As we walked inside The Security Guard was right at the door. It was a bit smoky in there but hey.... it's a Bar... They have 2 bars which was pretty cool. We sat in the big one by the Live Band. The Band was pretty good. They played some Cover Alternative songs I really liked. The bartenders were really nice and attentive. Being from Miami the drink pricing was great :) We had a 2 crown n coke and a Stella for 18 bucks. We actually enjoyed it pretty much and stayed till 1:45ish. Unbelievably even the restrooms were pretty tidy. Pretty ok place would probably visit again in the future. read more

Love the remodel & new acts being brought in. No longer is it smoke filled or only heavy metal. Great variety of bands and so many laughs at the comedy shows. Comedy is first Saturday of each month, 7-9pm, best $5 of entertainment! Always a great time. read more

DO NOT USE YOUR DEBIT CARD IN THEIR ATM ! I used Buddah Bar's ATM when I was there and 12 days later I found a fraudulent/ unauthorized charge on my debit card. They must have went through their records, got my card numbers and ran a charge through almost 2 weeks later. Do not be put off by all the folk in cowboy hats. Although clearly the minority at this place, I did not have a bad time. My major complaint was the bar service. I must have sat at the bar for 25 minutes before I was even asked if I wanted a drink. Several groups of folk who arrived after me, were being served before I did. On Sunday there is a live band that plays cover songs all night. I didn't think they were particularly bad but the one thing i did like is that the young guy singing had a YMCMB jersey on, which I found odd for Ft. Myers (maybe me just being a bit closed minded). I liked the idea of the bar. Apparently it used to be an old sushi restaurant that was converted. It is easily located by the GIANT golden Buddha statue sitting outside. read more

Always a good time at Buddhas! I love it when Soapy Tuna plays, they always play kick ass music and get the crowd going. The only thing I DONT like about Buddhas is how smokey it is, but it's a bar so I guess I can't complain too much. But seriously, you will have to take a shower and wash your clothes the minute you get home because you will smell like an ashtray. Overall though: Love it here! read more

We used to go here all the time. This time we were all wearing seasonal Christmas outfits, it's 7 days before christmas. We were all dancing and enthusiastic and getting the crowd into the music. My friend was showing his boxer briefs which had pixels of Santa on then like an old computer (he simply showed his butt, it's not like he dropped his pants) then because security has a power trip, they bullied him and pushed him to the door without warning or explanation. It's like they are looking for a reason to fight, I mean come on Michael Jordan is on television in his Hanes boxer briefs but my friend gets thrown out for showing the top half of his boxers in holiday spirit! We used to go here a lot and we will not be back. This is why your business will fail and those security guards will have to find somewhere else to bully someone! read more
