    This place is STILL OPEN! They are operating inside Corporation Food Hall across from the Jamaican place! Not sure why Yelp place for this said it's closed! There plenty of seats and their food is pretty yummy and healthy! Probably one of the healthiest options at Corp Food Hall if you're looking for more protein and veggies! They accept credit card and are pretty fast with service! Check them out!

    They moved down to the stall where Gyoza Boys used to be. They also have a new menu which Does NOT include stir fried noodles such as Pad See Ew or Pad Thai anymore... Which kinda sucks because when you think or crave for Thai food, one instantly crave their infamous stir fry noodles. I think this is a bad concept that they are trying out and hopefully they bring the classic noodles back! Super disappointed because I loved their stir fried noodles );

    I come here every time I get a haircut in DTLA and this place is good. I like the vibe of the Corporation Food hall whenever I visit. I enjoy getting the pad see ewe here at Buddha Belly and it's decent, fills you up to a certain extent. A little pricey for the portions they give as I would normally get at other places. Given the thought of the pandemic too, I think that's why they raised up the prices so I get it? But still, a little expensive for how much they give. They do tend to give more noodles than meat sometimes. One main thing that keeps me coming here is their Lychee Lemonade! There is only one size for the drink and they used to have it in a large but they only do one size now. This drink is DELICIOUS! I would definitely recommend this drink if you ever visit this location to eat or grab a bite/snack at the food hall. Service is decent and not bad at all. Workers are very friendly and I have not had any issues at all. Overall, I tend to gravitate towards here most of the time every time I visit.

    We ordered via Ubereats and the food came within 30 minutes. Tom Kha Soup ($13.99): I don't think I've seen a spicy sour coconut soup before so I wanted to try it. The soup is suppose to come with a side of rice but they forgot it. The soup itself doesn't look very appetizing and is a different color than what's shown on the picture. The picture looks like the soup is more coconut based but what I got was pretty red so more of the Tom Yum flavor. It was pretty darn salty so I had to have rice with it and diluted it with warm water. The vegetables were plentiful. The chicken wasn't bad but they skimped on the amount. Spicy Pork Belly Rice/Ka Prow Belly ($13.99): This was highly recommended on Yelp so we were excited to try it but it didn't live up to the hype. It had a strange taste I couldn't put my finger on; my husband said it had that street food taste. I didn't like it so I only had a few bites.

    We came across this place in the food court unintentionally. We were going to get some Jamaican food and changed our mind last minute. The menu is pretty simple, with some stable Thai rice and noodles dishes, and some rolls and grilled proteins. We order the Pad Kee Mao and grilled pork skewers. I typically don't have high hopes for fast food places in food court, but I was surprised to find our dinner not only delicious but also authentic. My Thai iced tea was perfect too, not too bitter or too watery. Price is fair for DTLA, and service is friendly. Will definitely come back in the future.

    Delicious grilled tofu rice bowl! Fresh veggies and nicely charred tofu. We also ordered a lemongrass chicken banh mi (not pictured) that was packed full of meat and pickled veggies. If I had to choose, I would suggest the rice bowl as a well-executed healthy lunch choice.

    I was in the mood for some Thai food and I happened to stumble upon this place. It's hard to find since it's in a food hall with no visible sign from the street. But once you're inside, them smell will bring you right ip to their counter. I ordered the Pad Ke Mao (Drunken Noodles). Since we're still in a pandemic, i had to take my food to go. But to my surprise, when i got back to my office, the food was still piping hot!! The heat on their frying pans must be in another level. The flavor was really strong. The basil was fresh and it had just the right amount of heat from the chili peppers. Thai people have a really strong flavor palette. So, who would have Thai food if it isn't spicy? Needless to say, once indoor dining resumes. You'll find me here sweating with drops of joy as I can eat their delicious food straight from the stove and not have to wait til I get back to my office.

    Finally, a pho spot on Spring Street! I'm a big fan of pho and have tried several places in and around the LA area. The pho ga here is really tasty, delicious broth, a generous amount of white meat chicken, and fresh aromatic herbs and toppings. I've enjoyed this meal at least 5 times, and the quality is consistent every time. 10/10

    I think for the amount of food I received, the price was a bit too much. $15 for vermicelli noodles with pork! Most Vietnamese restaurants I go to range between $10-$13 and I get a lot more than what I received. I was very disappointed because I was so hungry after a long work day and sitting in DTLA traffic to get here. The disappointment continued with the taste! It wasn't what I wanted, not very authentic. However, the service was spectacular and is really carrying this review. The cashier went above and beyond, left the cash register to go a few shops down to get hoisin sauce for me since they didn't have any. I really appreciated that! I probably won't be back to that food court for them specifically, but there's other restaurants to try! And they're dog friendly.

    Arrived with a garnish of hair on it
    Connie C.

    Ordered due to a promo on door dash. It arrived with a visible hair on a piece of meat. Also that dish (vermicelli salad bowl) was made with pork instead of the chicken I had asked for. I know mistakes happen so didn't want to give less than 2 stars. The flavor was decent on my banh mi but why did they have to char up the bread so much? Low key burnt it. Delivery was super fast (maybe because they didn't read my order details...). I work close by but would not recommend it.

    Angie M.

    This place is tasty! Of all the pad thai I've tried ( a lot) this has probably been the most flavorful. The gentleman taking the orders had great energy as well. The lychee lemonade was too sweet for me personally, but the noodles made up for it. Food came out quick and was well balanced.

The regular menu is quite expensive with the cheapest at $17 for appetizer and salad options and most expensive at a whooping $80. The lunch menu was more affordable but still on the pricey side $21-$32 with add on options. The waitress was taking our orders and what surprised me was with my co-worker ordered the pad see ew and the waitress asked her how spicy she wants it. I was aw shocked. I'm not a Thai food expert but I do know pad see ew is a noodles dish that's offers a sweet soy sauce flavor. Never served spicy. I didn't get to try the dish but when I asked my co worker how it taste she said it was spicy and not sweet at all. I'm not sure that was an authentic pad see ew. I ordered from the lunch menu and got the tumeric chicken, with steamed vegetables and paid extra $7 to substitute for a papaya salad. I asked for #2 spice level but it was not spicy at all. Other co workers said they asked for medium but it was way too spicy. So it looks like their spicy levels are inconsistent. I'm not sure how this restaurant can justify the prices with the quality they are serving. Probably won't be back. Service was mediocre. Didn't offer to refill our waters. I felt like I came to eat and my mom's house. They take Debit Card and Apple Pay WITH a pin only. I forgot my wallet and paid with Apple Pay. It did not have a place for tip which made me feel awful. At the end I apologized and she was like "it's ok, next time." And she was genuinely fine with it. She reassured me not to worry about it. So I'm determined to come back to tip her because if anybody deserved a tip it was her. I ordered Pad Thai with tofu- I like to order peanut sauce on the side and the woman found it interesting and struck a non judgmental conversion about it. I could really tell she was genuinely curious. This was my favorite dish. It was good. I also ordered spicy fried rice with tofu and spicy panang curry with vegetables. I chose 4 out of a 6 for spicy and it was not spicy at all for me. The rice was fine, nothing extraordinary and nothing bad. The panang curry was yummy. I don't know if it's regional but it was very light in taste and light in thickness. BUT I enjoyed it for what it was. Felt like I had gotten home made chicken soup or something like that comforting and not overly processed. Maybe it's because I ordered it with no protein and just vegetables. I ordered a lot of food so I explained to her that I was going to eat some and take the rest to go. When she brought the food she brought it nicely packed without a bag. She also brought me a real plate and utensils to eat here. She let me know that when I was ready she'd bring a bag which I thought was thoughtful. She also made sure to say "take your time, no need to rush. We close at 8" and it was 5pm. Again, it felt genuinely nurturing, she wanted to make sure I felt taken care of and welcomed. It meant a lot because I was frazzled from forgetting my wallet and from having a hard day at work. This was my first time here and it won't be my last. There is a small lot on site. This place is by far my favorite Thai restaurant and that's why it's so disheartening to write this…read morereview. I have written at least 2 glowing reviews of the restaurant in the past and wish this could be one of them, but it's not. Over the last 4-5 days I have tried no less than 2 dozen times to call the restaurant during proper business hours to order food for pick-up as I often do. The phone rang and rang to no avail. I live too far from the restaurant to just pop up and place an order so I rely on calling ahead. I have been a customer of this restaurant for at least the last 9 years and have almost never had the aforementioned experience. Though I do recall not being able to get a call through several times on one or two occasions in the relatively distant past. Today I was finally able to get a call through and began placing my order which includes shrimp. I ALWAYS request the tail (with shells) to be removed from the shrimp as I find it quite difficult to enjoy my meal if I'm constantly having to pick off shells with my hands. It's unsanitary and messy. Removing the tails from 15-20 shrimp prior to adding to an entree or soup should take no more than 60 seconds and that's if one is moving at a glacial pace. However, today I was told that the kitchen was too busy to honor my request. I assured the lady taking my order than I was a loyal customer and make this request will every order I place and it is always honored. She repeated her claim that the kitchen was too busy and refused to do it. I cancelled my order and ended the call. Now I usually order food from the restaurant 4-5 times a month and usually spend about $65 each time not including tip. That is approximately $325 per month of my hard earned money that I give to this restaurant in exchange for great food and service. I am appalled and quite upset that having been a loyal customer for almost a decade and spending as much money there as I do per month that they could at least honor my patronage by simply taking an additional 60 seconds in the kitchen to make my meal more enjoyable. Her refusal to do such a minuscule task has deeply soured my experience with Hoy-Ka not to mention the fact that I could not reach the restaurant for almost a week by phone for no apparent reason. I will not be going back to this restaurant until they rectify this situation.

Each time I've come the waitstaff has been super friendly, and the food amazing. So, when planning a little birthday lunch for my mom's 81st birthday, this was one of the first places I thought of. My mom lives in south LA and we live in the valley, so after picking her up, we wouldn't have to travel far to eat. Although we planned to arrive to the restaurant at 2, traffic was horrible and we arrived at 230pm. After looking for parking, I dropped the fam off at 2:40 so they could sit and look at the menu while I found parking. I get a text from my husband saying they closed at 3 so hurry. This was news to me, as I thought they closed at 5. I found parking and rushed in at 2:48, to see my family outside the restaurant. Perplexed, I went in to ask if we could still eat, as it wasn't yet 3pm. No wait staff came to the front to greet me, so I walked in a bit and asked the waiter if it was okay to eat. The waiter said we close in ten. I said I thought the website said you closed at 5. I must have read it wrong. I understand, but it's not 3 and we came a bit of a distance and it's my mom's 81st birthday. The waiter, whose name is Jack, offered to ask the kitchen if they would still make food. I said yes please would you ask? While Jack was asking, another waiter asked me if I had been helped. I told him yes, that Jack was asking the kitchen if we could still have lunch. This waiter says, we're closing in 10. I'd like to have lunch too. And walks away. Yes, with shade. Jack returns and says it's fine as long as we can order within a few minutes of getting the menu. I say great and we all come in. The 2nd waiter takes our order with the least amount of personality he possibly can, and the whole lunch is slightly awkward and we're not able to truly enjoy ourselves with the feeling of "we better hurry up and eat" lingering. By the time we ordered and received our food (which was delicious as usual) , there were still 4 other groups of customers there, and we actually left the restaurant within a minute or two after the last customers before us. Also, no one came around to ask how our food was and if we needed anything. I'm giving 3 stars because this experience didn't quite sit right with me. Yes, it was near closing, but your doors weren't closed and there was no sign saying last call/order at 2:45 or anything like that. I feel like once the kitchen approved making our lunch, customer service should have been at its peak for paying customers, who gave no attitude and tried to be as polite with the ask as possible. It was not. I still tipped 25%, because Jack (waiter 1) was polite and my 81 old mama who I was celebrating raised me that way, but I'm not sure I'll patronize them again.

The three of us opted for family style and ordered four entrees and a side of white rice to share. We ordered the stir fried crispy catfish, the sautéed morning glory, the shrimp salad, and the pad kee mao with chicken. The total came out to be about $33.28 per person including tax and 20% tip. I don't live anywhere near Hollywood, but if I do come to see a show at the Pantages Theater in the future, I'll make sure to swing by again.

    There are so many Thai spots around the area that, as an outsider, it's understandably confusing…read more All of them do basically everything better than most in the USA, but each certainly has something they do best. Ruen Pair is a staple if you live in Thai Town, but it's been a while for me, so I had to remind myself why this place always stood out to me personally. It's their jerky! The pork neck (I think neck?) jerky is something so good you might just slap yourself for never having tried something like it before. It's that damned good. You'll likely enjoy whatever you order, but please make sure at least one is that.

The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and you can taste how fresh everything is. They were out of their homemade curry paste, so a few dishes weren't initially available--but we ended up staying, chatting, and before we knew it, more ingredients arrived and they happily made everything we wanted. That kind of experience says a lot. Not. One. Thing. Has ever disappointed here. The fresh scallops on the half shell were unbelievably sweet and tender, with a sauce that hits you with the perfect punch. The crispy rice salad is unlike anything else--beautifully balanced, like a tightrope walk of flavors on your tongue. They also sell their proprietary fish sauce--get it. We ordered the Gra Pow Moo, Dungeness crab fried rice, Pad See Ew, Gra Pow Wagyu beef, and Koi Soi--every single dish was outstanding. Great sake, beer, and wine selection too. Absolutely delicious.

The restaurant is small, so there can be a wait. But there re tables inside and outside, with some bar seating. The dishes run about $25-$35 a plate. The menu does change and is updated frequently. Two drinks, two appetizers, three entrees was about $200. The panang curry was sooo tasty, but the pork jowl was chewy. Maybe needed a bit more pressure cooking, but the sauce was so tasty. Pad kee mao was very tasty. This was the group's favorite entree. The added cost for the beef makes sense; it did make it about a $30 dish. The flavor and heat of the noodles were lovely. The beef was very tasty and tender. The snack/appetizers were both tasty. Very true to name, with bite size. The sauces were so well done with sour, salty, sweet combination.
