I was seeing a show at the nearby United Artist Theatre and wanted a quick dinner so I popped in to DTLA Ramen as I'm never one to pass up checking out a new ramen joint. The interior is small. Just a few 4ish person table and a bar. I sat at the bar in an effort to not potentially take a table away from a larger party. I felt like while I was waited on, I was generally left alone during my visit. As I was in a bit of a rush that somewhat bothered me, but I was still able to get in, put in an order, and finish my meal in about 30~40 minutes (though I did eat fast). If you're looking for a super quick meal, this isn't the spot for you. The ramen itself was tasty. Definitely better than I expected, but also not the best I've ever had. I got the mild spice level just to be cautious and the spice was barely there. If you like even the smallest of spice levels, I'd say go with medium. The broth was rich and flavorful and the meat and other items came in just the right serving amounts. Ultimately I'm glad I went to DTLA Ramen. It was a good meal that was reasonably priced that definitely filled me up. I would definitely go back if I found myself in the area. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Surprisingly great food with lots of veg options. We spotted this place across from our hotel and decided to try it for dinner. We'd noticed they had some outdoor seating, but didn't realize how roomy their indoor space would be. The decor was utilitarian but clean and pleasant. Their happy hour menu looked pretty good as well. We were pretty hungry so we kind of ordered a lot: - Spicy creamy vegan ramen (great rich broth and perfectly cooked noodles) - Plant-based chicken karaage (crispy and delicious--not sure what brand of mock chicken they used, but it was more akin to dark meat than breast meat, which was what I used to prefer back in the day so I loved it) - Impossible gyoza (nice change from the usual chopped veggie fillings) - Edamame (perfectly steamed and salted) The prices were reasonable and the staff friendly and efficient--we are definitely coming back! read more

My friend and I came to DTLA Ramen late Monday afternoon in order to wait out the traffic and have an early dinner, and lucky for us, we got in on the last hour of Happy Hour (weekdays 3pm-6pm), so we got $2 off our Ramen and $1 off our salted Edamame. The Edamame was pretty good, although not too out of the ordinary even with the salt. Our Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, however, was savory, albeit not that spicy even though my friend got the Spicy (she rated it 4/10 in spiciness) ) and I got the Extra Spicy (6/10 in spiciness). So if you love it even hotter, don't be afraid to ask for even more heat. The Chashu pork slices were nicely thick and charred, soaking up the broth while maintaining just enough crispiness. Both the broth and the noodle were also thick and delicious, giving you plenty of flavor with every slurp. If there was something I felt lacking, it would be to have a bit more flair to the taste, since everything is a little one note and not a lot of depth and texture in the flavor. But that's OK, it was tasty as it was so we still ended up satisfied! read more

This place was so good after a long day in LA. After our event we walked over to this spot and it did not disappoint. The decor is fun and the service is very friendly. It was very warm in there, no air flow, no fans, no ac. After ordering an ice water and sitting still for a moment we were able to cool down. Ordering is simple and easy using the QR code in the table. Everything came out delicious and I was so full. Not too familiar with the area as we were in town for the 2025 Comic Con, we decided Ramen was the main entree for tonight's dinner and made a quick call to this ramen shop, about 5 mins walking distance from our parking spot. Called ahead to see if there's any seats and was delighted to know that around 6-7pm the seats/table is pretty open. Took us about 5 mins Divey, chill, relaxed, cool and ambient!! Those are the woods that described this awesome and uplift divey Ramen Shop, "DTLA RAMEN", reminiscent of small shops back in Tokyo Japan. While the chef may not be Japanese, the food is amazing and tastes very delicious as any other chef's ramen. Next time, we'll have to try other items when we're back. read more

Service was excellent. I had their pumpkin matcha, crispy tuna rice, spicy tuna roll & curry katsu with pork. Food tasted fine, sushi wasn't my favorite but go figure, it's a ramen spot. Our sever was great though, there was a miscommunication about what we had ordered and he handled it so well & with grace - really appreciated it. Also the lemonade is a fantastic price! I would rate this place a 4.5 stars. Came here with my co-workers after work. I ordered the regular tonkotsu ramen and loved it. Wish they had the shio ramen, but enjoyed eating the tonkotsu and added the soft boiled egg. Loved how the soup was super hot as I hate eating warm ramen and the noodles were perfect. It was 1 o'clock on a bustling weekday, accompanied with a sprinkle of rain, when I, along with my merry band of 6 coworkers visited DTLA Ramen for a quick lunchtime bite. There's a lunch special deal for 1) Ramen 2) Appetizer and 3) Drink for $22.95. My eyes locked on the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen, a sidekick of crispy gyoza, and a Lychee Green Tea for my drink! The star of my lunch was the Lychee Green Tea! I first jumped at the fact that they had a lychee-flavored fruit drink, which set my heart afluter since it's my favorite fruit of all time. Why not give it a go? I was delighted I did as it did not disappoint at all! My picture-perfect ramen was also springy and chewy just like how I like my ramen. I couldn't resist the temptation to add an egg for an extra dollar - it was a small price to pay for the perfect soft-boiled egg. Admittedly, the portion was too big so I had to take most of the ramen home to enjoy...but hey, I am a huge fan of leftovers! In the end, my coworkers and I left as a happy bunch. The ramen here is amazing! The broth is rich but not too rich where it's overwhelming. I've always had an issue with places that char their charsiu pork because I don't like my food burnt (not my style), but it's just slightly burnt so the smoky aroma isn't overpowering. I get the tonkatsu ramen with a soft boiled egg. I've also ordered the karaage appetizer, definitely has more meat than a crispy outside, but that's not a downside at all. They give a large portion out. My mom also got the tofu and cucumber side. She mentioned the tofu was cut quite big so she probably wouldn't order it again. SNEAKY RIP OFF! Update. The reply from the owner tells you a great deal about his business. A rude comment from him tells you that he doesn't care about his customer's experience. Instead of owning up to it and make it right he slams with insult and made up stories about me being rude. Seriously, if I were rude I wouldn't have left a tip at all, but in fact I did. Needless to say, at the time of my visit, the lunch menu on the table as well as his regular menu there and on line menu, there were no statements about the up charge like he said. When I tell you this place was a hidden gym in the middle of Downtown LA.... I mean it! Was staying downtown in Los Angeles for the first time and while walking around I stumbled across this amazing blacked out ramen shop from the outside with no sign but simply just saying "RAMEN". I knew it had to be good and DTLA Ramen did not disappoint! The service was amazing as I was seated immediately and the server gave me the best recommendations. I'm a ramen person so I know good ramen, and DTLA Ramen is a 10 out 10 Traditional pork broth with a spicy miso base, the best!!! Let's not talk about the yummy fried chicken karague and the gyoza!
