I am personally obsessed with this restaurant. I have been to the actual restaurant multiple times and it is my go to for delivery. The service in the restaurant itself is very professional and very friendly. The employees have greeted me and were very nice, even when I didn't correctly pronounce some of the items. The food is always great, even when delivered. I have tried many items off of the menu and I have not once been disappointed. I'm totally into this place. It has a calm atmosphere, there's plenty of space between the tables, and there's a bit of a separation between the bar and the rest of the seating. I came here for a bento box lunch and it was definitely worth the price. The miso soup was great, the sashimi was absolutely wonderful, and the sushi was nicely made. The bento box came with white rice, salad with some kind of sesame-ginger dressing, and your choice of two items. I got sashimi and the veggie roll. Everything was tasty and the service was nice. Pretty solid little spot in Lexington; stopped in for a late lunch during a business trip and it was pretty empty at 2, which was good for me cause service was on lock! Underrated bar too! Amazing selection of booze and bourbons, as well as a solid beer offering too. Had their lunch special which was a bento box pick three items which mine consisted of a Korean taco, chicken teriyaki skewer, & spicy tuna roll. Came with rice, salad, miso soup, and a cucumber salad for $14! Also split another sushi roll which had Korean beef in it! So solid! It was so much good for that price. Just here visiting from LA (where we're SUPER snobby about sushi, naturally). Skip the crap and get down to the sashimi, holy hell so good. We got the Yellowtail and White Albacore - and we should have gotten more. (by the way, favorite thing about Lexington - every restaurant, even sushi places, have an extensive bourbon list - AMAZING). If you genuinely enjoy good quality fish sushi, come here. The other stuff that maybe was for those who want a heartier meal, I wasn't so impressed with. Korean tacos, meh. (but sidenote the kimchi that came on the side was pretty authentic and delicious - spicy garlicky, I wanted more) Gyoza - meh, a little lukewarm. Totally skip-able. Buddha Roll - messy, a little fishy (likely due to the scallops?) but very spicy - that part I enjoyed - the spice Not super wild about how the wasabi and ginger came, seems a little sketch but it wasn't just siting out on the tables so I didn't ding too much for that. My favorite Philadelphia roll anywhere in the USA - mostly thanks to the ingredients ratios - a sliver of cream cheese (many places put in so much you can't taste the rest of the roll), smoked salmon, cucumber, avocado, a cut of fresh salmon on top, and (my favorite part) a crispy apple slice. It's pricier than most Philadelphia rolls but you get plenty of fish on it. I personally enjoyed the decor, and found the eating space/bathrooms clean for my use, staff was friendly. Other great food options: Proof Fitness roll, Panang curry, the fried oysters. To skip: the karaage (it was a little overly salty for me) Lexington was hurting for a good Asian place downtown and I think Buddha Lounge really fit the bill. read more

They've been open 4 YEARS?! Shame on me for waiting so long to enjoy this gem! The atmosphere is absolutely perfect for a downtown 'hole in the wall:' Quaint and cozy with high-end details that make you momentarily think you're in a much bigger city. The staff are so nice and engaging; we spoke at length with Nick - more on that later. We started with edamame, which was pretty standard but plentifully portioned. My boyfriend had the Kim Bap roll, which was excellent, but the Pink Panther is where it's at! The light tempura breading on the shrimp combined with crab, cream cheese, and (surprise!) apple was divine, and BONUS: It comes paired with yum yum sauce. Just plan to request a straw for that stuff. Oh my goodness. We also ordered the Korean Tacos - short rib heightened by kimchi - which were DELICIOUS! Long story short: We'll be regulars. They have a full bar, complete with local and craft beer, many in cans and several on draft. The bar is elevated and slightly separated from the rest of the dining room, and there is an adjacent small dining room that can be reserved for private parties of ~15. Nick made us feel right at home, giving menu recommendations and feedback. He also shared information with us the about forthcoming Roulay restaurant on Short Street, under the same ownership. I am on the road yet again for work. I am staying at the Hilton downtown. This is a 1 to 2 minute walk. It appears a little hidden from the sidewalk. Great atmosphere and the staff is very nice. A respectable beer selection that includes local brews. The scotch and whiskey selection can hang with any establishment I have been to. The food presentation is sharp. The seaweed salad is on a base of cucumbers. The sushi is fresh and avocados are green and soft. This is a great place for one's sushi fix on the road! Bravo! read more

When my man and I went on a short vacation we ended up going here and WOW it is delicious and it's a little pricy but the food is definitely worth the price and I wish there was one in Chicago, the soft shell crabs my man said are delicious, the miso soup very good, the sushi amazingly good, the chicken teriyaki unbelievably good, there was some other food we had and no complaints all good. Great sushi spot - surprisingly to find in Kentucky. Authentic, fresh and well organized restaurant. I'm a fan of thinner sliced sashimi but the freshness made up for the size of the pieces. We ate in the restaurant & order via uber eats. The menu listed on uber eats isn't the same as the menu in the restaurant. This place has some awesome sushi and small plates. Got the Korean tacos, Kim Bap roll, Crunchy roll and edamame and it was all super flavorful and fresh. They have a great wine selection and a full bar. In a previous visit I tried the seafood tartare and it was very good! The service was great. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful when we were trying to decide what to order. My only complaint is that the next day I wore the same jacket/pullover and I could smell myself the whole day. It was so pleasant I had to run home during my errands and change clothes. Would that be a vent/hood issue, maybe? I will say that I do have a sensitive sense of smell and that I did NOT notice an unpleasant smell at the restaurant - just on my clothes after/next day. read more

What a fantastic lunch! The Korean tacos were just what I needed. They were part of the bento lunch, which I ordered with the spicy tuna roll. The tuna was silky smooth, and even the salad with its sesame dressing and hint of heat was delicious. I also managed to steal a bite of my husband's chicken curry. I think that next time, I may have to order a bowl. Our waiter was friendly and our food came out quickly - A benefit when you're going for lunch downtown. Went here for my birthday and it was a nice spot. I love the location, it's near bars in the downtown area and it's open pretty late. The ambience is was great for get togethers with friends or a romantic night out with your honey. I don't think it would be a good place for kids, especially at night as it is near bars. Now to the food, It was great! We ordered sushi, I have forgotten the names of them but they tasted great. We tried the pink soy based wrap on one of the sushi and it was delicious. The gyoza was also delicious. Loved the dipping sauce. Two things that I would like to point out: one-ordered the peach Saki, although it was delicious, I'm not sure that the price was worth it; two- the Korean bbq tacos were amazing!! Stopped by on a Tuesday night around 6PM Food: crunchy roll - really tasty and it did not taste oily. Very delicious Veggie- avocado and cucumber. The avocado was really good ripe. Chicken curry- ended up ordering 2 becasue it was amazing! Best curry I've had in a long time. The taste was not overwhelming. The salad had a very deliclious light dressing and the rice was moist and sticky. Atmosohere: dim lighting and cool music. I was surprised they even played an Odesza song. Drinks: My fiance had the 3 Floyd's and thought it was good. I had sweet tea. A little too sweet but an easy fix. Service: the good came out ~15 minutes after ordering and the waitress provides good service. read more
