I really liked this place. A couple of friends said it was "meh" but I disagree. I liked the quality for the price and it's conveniently located downtown so you can go out for drinks after dinner. The place is cute and cozy (great place for a date) but there is an area for a larger party as well (I attended a bachelorette dinner here). The sushi was great and service too all the 4 times I've been. I really liked the dragon roll (I think that's what it was called) and the fried chicken. I have been here twice now and it was phenomenal both times. The Philadelphia roll, Buddha roll, and Nakegami Roll were all fantastic. The fish here has a slight taste of lemon and vinegar which is perfect. All of the products seemed fresh and were brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Now that they have expanded their sushi menu, I like this place more. The service can be hit or miss, but the sushi has always been good. It is a little pricey, but hey, it's downtown. The bento box lunch is a great deal and I love that they put a little sesame oil on the rice for extra flavor. The best new restaurant downtown. Nick the owner came to Lexington with his family from San Francisco and opened Buddha Lounge. Located in the heart of downtown Lexington and there is plenty of parking around. The service is spot on. The sushi is excellent and very very fresh. My favorite is the tuna tartare made with large generous chunks of fresh tuna piled high in an artistic manner. My husband loves the gyoza dumplings and the curry! Everything is wonderful and the best part is when the bill comes at the end, for the quality you cannot beat the price anywhere in Lexington!!! read more

Ok I love this spot. Typically I don't do reviews on places I have only been once, but this one, I HAVE to! I love the Buddha Lounge. Its different, unlike anything downtown Lexington. Which is a great for me since I work down here. First let me say this spot is really clean and modern. I really like the setup they got inside! Second they have an awesome lunch option. It was filling for me and I was extremely happy with my choice. I got the pick two, where I got the Korean Taco and the California Roll. They were delicious. Each lunch comes with a soup (not my favorite in the world, but it doesn't take from the rest of my experience) rice, and salad. Let me comment on the salad... idk why, however, that was the best thing I had... This doesn't take away from the great food I got, but the salad, I just LOVED it so much!!! I am always sceptical about tacos, but I was plesantly supprised with this one! However I do think I will try and get through the entire menu before deciding what is my favorite. The rolls were outstanding. The fish was fresh and they didn't try to mask the rolls with an over abundance of sauces. Yes, the service was a little lacking, but it didn't take away from quality of the food. I will definitely come back when my travels take me to Lexington. read more

Buddah lounge is a gem in downtown Lexington. The business is family run and the owner, Nick, is an outstanding person. The design of the restaurant is as stunning as the food. Surprisingly, they have one of the best whisky/ey selections downtown. From Scotch, to bourbon, to Japanese whiskey. Open late Friday and Saturday with awesome ramen, and open early for lunch with killer bento boxes. Don't be afraid to try the Thai options. read more

Great Sushi place! This is where I had my first sushi experience and it was very nice.. The spicy salmon roll is a must try! Also the Thai Chicken Curry was amazing as well.. Do not go for the Tempura platter! The crab appetizer is a good one too! Pair it up with one of the rice wines and you are set to have a great evening.. Dirty tables, inattentive staff. Average food. Typical Lexington fare. Sad because I wanted this place to have a good run, but it's nasty. Bathrooms are deplorable. Tables are sticky, place is too warm. I went back a second time with friends hoping for a better experience but the staff didn't even pay attention to us. It's hard to know how to rate this place. It's a tiny place but they have used the space really well. The menu is quite limited and the sushi options are few, but we're in Kentucky so maybe not trying to keep a lot of different types of fish is a good thing. In general it's more a tapas than sushi, if you know what I mean. Most of the items I tasted were good, if a bit plain. The sushi could be better assembled, but the pieces were at least appropriately sized. The cost is fair for the quality of ingredients. I enjoyed my visit but there are better sushi options in town. It is more suited to the tapas/bar crowd, in general. I do like that they are open late! read more

I have been look for a restaurant like this since I moved from DC. Mai Thai in DC was an amazing mix of Thai and sushi and until I found this spot I didn't think I was going to have those options. I went for lunch today and had their $9 bento box after a friend recommended it. The price is great and the food was even better. I choose the panang curry and spicy tuna roll. Ate at Buddha's for lunch today. Sadly, the lunch was very small. The salad was so small that there was more lettuce on a McDonald's burger than on my plate. No kidding. Also, if you like pureed raw onions on lettuce, then you will love their salad. The sushi was mediocre at best.
