Best Breakfast place in the area!! This place Trumps all restaurants and bagel spots nearby. They may not be the fastest but they are always packed and known for their fresh and tasty bagels-made right there in house! They cook everything fresh! There's a large seating area with ample room for small or big parties. You prepare your own coffee with about 3-4 different flavors or grab your choice of a cold drink from their buffet fridge! You can then order your food, have a seat grab a bag of chips and pay when you're done eating or before you leave. Different flavored Muffins on the counter are ready to grab for on the go. FREE local newspaper by the cash register for you to read while u eat or take with you(When Available). Staff is very friendly and the place is spotless clean! Restrooms are neat and spacious. Buddies delivered our working lunch today and it arrived promptly - was hot where it needed to be hot, cold where it needed to be good and it tasted good. Nothing was exceptionally good making this one a solid three star. Price was also decent from what I'm told - I didn't pay the bill, but it fit into our company policy, which indicates anyone could afford it! read more

I moved to the area in 2005 and tried many local restaurants and sandwich shops. Nothing, and I mean Nothing compares to Buddies Bagels. A fresh, delicious sandwich every time! The bagels are always fresh and plentiful. Boar's Head meats are great quality and fresh. Breakfast sandwiches are also made to order and great all of the time. Always a wonderful experience to get a sandwich made the way you order it served correctly all of the time. Closest thing to a genuine NYC bagel cafe. Coffee is very good. The spreads are very good. The cold cuts are Boar's Head. The sandwiches are nicely prepared. And, of course, the bagels are good compared to New York, but excellent for Pennsylvania. The baked goods are also "New York style," so they're not great but are fine for a coffee break. The earlier you go, the better they are, but I haven't been disappointed at the mid-afternoon closing time. Haven't tried the drive through, but it's a popular choice. read more

Moving to the west coast where bagels are a total let down, I always manage to stop at Buddy's when in town. They have many varieties to chose from, I like the onion or everything bagel, and you can get them with a spread, butter or plain. I enjoy the bagel sandwiches, both the breakfast and deli meat style. A Taylor ham egg and cheese or sausage egg and cheese is my favorite but for lunch I pick one of the meats with spicy mustard. Another plus is the drive through. Sometimes you just feel like taking it on the road without getting out of the car. read more

The bagels here are amazing! I'm a huge breakfast person and enjoy my bagels just as much as I do other types of breakfasts foods. Buddies makes their bagels in house. My usual go to is the Ham (pork roll style), egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. Pricing is a little bit higher than some other bagel shops I've been in the region. Luckily for Buddies, they are the only local bagel shop in Hazleton and have a very high food quality; so I can rationalize a bagel sandwich every now and then when I am on my way to work. Bonus points for them having a drive thru (for those mornings I'm running late to work). They do only allow you to order 2-3 sandwiches (there is a sign on the drive their stating the max you can order) in the drive thru and strictly adhere to that policy. If you order over that, they will request that you come inside to place your order. read more

The bagels are good here. Prices are high. However there is practically no meat on their steak and egg sandwiches, or pastrami, egg/cheese. You pay a high price for the sandwich with little to no meat! I wouldn't mind paying more, but for a good amount of meat on my sandwich like a real NY style bagel shop. read more

They use to have very good bagels and now I think there is a new owner and everything is not like it use to be. Whenever I purchase my egg breakfast sandwich with meat, steak, pastrami etc. there is BARELY any meat on it and it's like $6. It's terrible. And the bagels are not as big and fluffy like real NY bagels are. Also, the drive thru use to be quick and efficient and now it is sooo slow and they have given me the wrong order on several occasions. read more

I lived in Hazleton for a year and now I live in Oneida, PA but I will often go out of my way when I need to go into town, just for one of their breakfast sandwiches. My boyfriend and I both love them. Hands down their product is superior to any other option in the area for food to go, or breakfast in general. Skip the fast food and stop by Buddies!!
