    Pan Seared Salmon

I normally get the filet, but I was feeling something different so I got the salmon.... BEST. IVE. EVER. HAD. Service and atmosphere was great, per usual. Can't wait to go back for the salmon tho!

I've came to Buddies on a few occasions and they have never disappointed! For one, the bloody Mary's are absolutely Devine! They are spicy yet salty and can get you a mini buzz. This was the first time we came during the lunch menu time frame. We ended up ordering from the dinner menu anyway. We all got a side salad and as always it's so good. I am always asking for extra dressing but theirs seems to always have the perfect amount of dressing. The two men at the table got steaks. Father in law got the King's Filet and bf got the Ribeye. No complaints. I got the crab Mac & cheese and holy moly! So good. We ended the meal with 2 desserts; crème brûlée and the turtle cheesecake crème brûlée, both were absolutely delicious!! Stop by here on your next hammond outing!

I was SO shocked that a place called Buddies Bar and Grill was more fine dining and than literal bar & grill! It was great! The rib eyes were delicious (try the blue cheese topping!) and the creamed spinach was the best I've ever had. The drinks weren't the best , but they weren't bad. The service was top notch! All in all, great visit and great meal. I'm d highly recommend checking this place out. Don't let the location or the bane fool you, humble equals delicious!l

The food was amazing, the ambiance is homey and the service is excellent top notch. Emily and Carol made the dining experience a hell of a lot better. They even cut the birthday cake for us.

Dead flowers on all the tables.

Filet was average. Out of the dessert we specifically went there for. Waitress was unsure of the menu options. Dead flowers on all the tables. Only positive, give you a discount for paying cash.

Claire was our server and she did a wonderful job! Food was delicious and great presentation. I can't wait to return!

The meal starts out with flatbread that's lightly buttered, fresh and warm right out of their Mexican oven. Outstanding! Kept it on the light side for lunch, so went with the beet salad. We had already eaten lunch, so I didn't order any food, but we were able to enjoy the complimentary hot, fresh bread along with some great drinks. Of all the drinks we tried, the Golden Peach, Passion Fruit Martini, and the recommended Mini Beer Shots were my favorite. I also love that they use fresh fruit and ingredients in their beverages you can really taste the difference it made. We were able to sit at the bar that day and received great service from Ashlyn. She was very nice, personable, and attentive. She made the experience feel so welcoming and pleasant that we decided to go back the very next day with more family members. Unfortunately, our Saturday visit during the Hot August Stroll was a completely different experience. And it wasn't because of how busy things were or the events taking place. The issue was the inconsiderate service we received from our waitress, C. The service was so disappointing that I won't even go into detail, but it definitely changed my overall impression of the restaurant. Would I recommend One Thirteen? It really depends on what you're going for and, honestly, which server you happen to get. The ambiance is definitely one of the highlights. It's cute, colorful, pink, and very aesthetically pleasing. It would be a great spot for Happy Hour, birthdays, brunch, date night, or even a work gathering.

Located in the downtown area of Hammond, this may be my favorite restaurant in the area and for good reason! The interior has the right amount of lighting to give an intimate feel and there's plenty of indoor seating where tables can be pushed together for large parties. The bar area is also comfy if you're looking to pop in for a glass of wine or a cocktail. Speaking of which, there's plenty of wine by the glass and featured bottle wines. It doesn't have as expansive of a bottle wine menu like other Italian spots but they don't need to as they offer about a dozen wines each from the USA and from the Italy/Spain/Argentina regions. So you'll find whatever you need to suit your tastes. And then there's cocktails. All the classics (Cosmopolitan, Manhattan, Old Fashioned) are here with some Italian favorites like the Negroni. The popular ones amongst us were the Limoncello Spritz (think of a vodka sparkling lemonade), the Espresso Martini, and the Basil Cucumber Gimlet. Tasty and pretty presentations! As for eats, the shareables that are must-orders are the Italian Meatballs (served in polenta w/ spicy tomato sauce), the Calamari, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Caprese Salad. These always made the table whenever we were here; the meatballs and brussels sprouts being the ones people couldn't stop eating. The turtle soup is also a good first course if you're going light. It was my first time having turtle soup and I enjoyed the heck out of it! For pastas/entrees, it depends how heavy you want to go. The pastas that we loved were the Fusilli and Casarecce. The Fusilli has a cajun spicy tomato base w/ shrimp, italian sausage, basil, and mushrooms; an excellent combination of ingredients for a delicious pasta dish. The Casarecce is more simple using a parmeson garlic cream sauce and a pan-fried breaded chicken breast on top. For entrees, the pork osso buco, duck breast, and diver scallops were all wonderful. The osso buco especially being super tender was a crowd-pleaser. They also have a filet mignon special w/ a fried potato cake and asparagus garnish finished in a red-wine demi glaze; this special was ordered by several people each time and had all of us oohhh'ing and ahhh'ing every time it was delivered. The filet is super tender and the potato cake is a great complimentary side to it. For dessert, we usually share the house cheesecake which has chocolate chips and caramel with a cookie crust; a perfect way to finish off the meal. That's if we save room for dessert! This spot is a must-visit and a place we plan to frequent whenever we're in Hammond. They also have a lot of gluten-free options in case you have a gluten intolerance. Do yourself a favor and check this spot out; you won't regret it!

Things like that sort of go with the territory when you start requesting modifications, so I didn't blame her at all. Will be back. Always!

My buddy and I stopped in here one Saturday for lunch and decided to split an order of Philly cheesesteak eggrolls and a sampler platter. The eggrolls were solid and came with a cheese dipping sauce. We got the beans and corn pudding. The corn pudding is a misnomer as this is really cornbread. Still good though. The meats were all pretty good with the brisket being better than I expected. Their sauces were not my favorite. I think one had some sort of blackberry flavor, but I could have that wrong. The food is pretty good; the service was on point and the place itself is fun and funky.

It was a little odd, we were the only customers in the restaurant the entire time we were there! Yes, it was Easter weekend, but it just felt odd at 7:00 on a Saturday night and we were the only ones there. Any way...we get seated at our table and ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. For the price, we were expecting more than one tiny crab cake. It was just ok. We were served bread with their signature flavored butter which was good. For dinner I ordered the filet cooked medium and my husband ordered the trout special. My steak was decent, slightly undercooked for my liking, but good flavor. My husband's trout was the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen on someone's plate at a restaurant. He enjoyed it but was still hungry after his meal. We opted not to get dessert since we were the only customers in the restaurant we felt like the staff were waiting for us to leave. That may not have been the case but that's how we felt. Maybe we picked a bad time to try this restaurant so we will give them another try. I would say this a great place for a special occasion if you're looking for ambience. I wouldn't go there with expectations of great food.
