    Pan Seared Salmon

I normally get the filet, but I was feeling something different so I got the salmon.... BEST. IVE. EVER. HAD. Service and atmosphere was great, per usual. Can't wait to go back for the salmon tho!

I've came to Buddies on a few occasions and they have never disappointed! For one, the bloody Mary's are absolutely Devine! They are spicy yet salty and can get you a mini buzz. This was the first time we came during the lunch menu time frame. We ended up ordering from the dinner menu anyway. We all got a side salad and as always it's so good. I am always asking for extra dressing but theirs seems to always have the perfect amount of dressing. The two men at the table got steaks. Father in law got the King's Filet and bf got the Ribeye. No complaints. I got the crab Mac & cheese and holy moly! So good. We ended the meal with 2 desserts; crème brûlée and the turtle cheesecake crème brûlée, both were absolutely delicious!! Stop by here on your next hammond outing!

I was SO shocked that a place called Buddies Bar and Grill was more fine dining and than literal bar & grill! It was great! The rib eyes were delicious (try the blue cheese topping!) and the creamed spinach was the best I've ever had. The drinks weren't the best , but they weren't bad. The service was top notch! All in all, great visit and great meal. I'm d highly recommend checking this place out. Don't let the location or the bane fool you, humble equals delicious!l

The food was amazing, the ambiance is homey and the service is excellent top notch. Emily and Carol made the dining experience a hell of a lot better. They even cut the birthday cake for us.

Dead flowers on all the tables.

Filet was average. Out of the dessert we specifically went there for. Waitress was unsure of the menu options. Dead flowers on all the tables. Only positive, give you a discount for paying cash.

Great experience each time I dine here! Exceptional service and great food. Such large portions of food, you definitely get your $$'s worth. 10/10 recommend.

First I would like to say that the name does not do this joint justice. I moved to Louisiana from london 6 years ago and I have been to most restaurants here but refrained from going here due to the name.I'm so tired of going to eateries here when all they have is fried everything. This establishment should change its name because this is a 5 star restaurant. from the server to the food I give it 5 plus stars, not to forget the cocktail. Everything was on point except for the maitre d A client of mine gave me a gift card and I'm so glad she did because I have finally found my gourmet restaurant kudos to you all and thanks for having us

Located in the downtown area of Hammond, this may be my favorite restaurant in the area and for good reason! The interior has the right amount of lighting to give an intimate feel and there's plenty of indoor seating where tables can be pushed together for large parties. The bar area is also comfy if you're looking to pop in for a glass of wine or a cocktail. Speaking of which, there's plenty of wine by the glass and featured bottle wines. It doesn't have as expansive of a bottle wine menu like other Italian spots but they don't need to as they offer about a dozen wines each from the USA and from the Italy/Spain/Argentina regions. So you'll find whatever you need to suit your tastes. And then there's cocktails. All the classics (Cosmopolitan, Manhattan, Old Fashioned) are here with some Italian favorites like the Negroni. The popular ones amongst us were the Limoncello Spritz (think of a vodka sparkling lemonade), the Espresso Martini, and the Basil Cucumber Gimlet. Tasty and pretty presentations! As for eats, the shareables that are must-orders are the Italian Meatballs (served in polenta w/ spicy tomato sauce), the Calamari, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Caprese Salad. These always made the table whenever we were here; the meatballs and brussels sprouts being the ones people couldn't stop eating. The turtle soup is also a good first course if you're going light. It was my first time having turtle soup and I enjoyed the heck out of it! For pastas/entrees, it depends how heavy you want to go. The pastas that we loved were the Fusilli and Casarecce. The Fusilli has a cajun spicy tomato base w/ shrimp, italian sausage, basil, and mushrooms; an excellent combination of ingredients for a delicious pasta dish. The Casarecce is more simple using a parmeson garlic cream sauce and a pan-fried breaded chicken breast on top. For entrees, the pork osso buco, duck breast, and diver scallops were all wonderful. The osso buco especially being super tender was a crowd-pleaser. They also have a filet mignon special w/ a fried potato cake and asparagus garnish finished in a red-wine demi glaze; this special was ordered by several people each time and had all of us oohhh'ing and ahhh'ing every time it was delivered. The filet is super tender and the potato cake is a great complimentary side to it. For dessert, we usually share the house cheesecake which has chocolate chips and caramel with a cookie crust; a perfect way to finish off the meal. That's if we save room for dessert! This spot is a must-visit and a place we plan to frequent whenever we're in Hammond. They also have a lot of gluten-free options in case you have a gluten intolerance. Do yourself a favor and check this spot out; you won't regret it!

Ask about the specials, and prepare yourself to be impressed. The kitchen staff obviously take pride in the work they do to produce such unique renditions of traditional favorites while still respecting the dish's origins. Awesome creativity going on in the back, for sure! Great food, great drinks, great service, wonderful place. If you haven't been, go see what you've been missing. Favorite appetizer: Bille's Bacon. Available with fried or grilled shrimp, or fried oysters on top of a THICK slab of bacon. Seafood rests on generous amounts of Gorgonzola cheese, and the Calabrian chili honey glaze drizzle just puts the kiss on top. KILLER grub! I had the grilled shrimp. Gulf shrimp, of course.

We, a family of 5 traveling from Kentucky to Galveston decided to stop overnight in Hammond. As soon as we arrived, our waitress immediately recognized the pent up energy of a 3 year old cooped up in a car seat for the last 8 hours. She immediately took his his order and had his dinner on the table quickly, occupying his busy hands. She recommended the spinach dip as appetizer with a fried pasta . It was gone in minutes! Great. She then recommended the special, pork loin, that my son devoured! Wife and daughter thoroughly enjoyed the crab cakes. I had trout with almandine sauce. First time eating trout but after eating this, I realized I have missed out! It was outstanding. I recommend everyone coming down I55 should stop and visit Hammond, a very nice small town with all the southern charm you can imagine and a great eating establishment. !

We got here around 8ish in the evening and it was raining so not many people here. So we propped up at the bar and ordered. I was in a martini mood so Gin martinis were my calling; they made them the way I like: slightly dirty w/ extra olives. I can't remember how many of those I ordered but they went down smooth. I didn't want to order anything heavy so I decided on the Brussels Sprouts and a cup of the Chicken/Andouille Gumbo. The Brussels were crispy and had a nice soy glaze to cap it off. They garnished it with some peeled scallions which gives a nice finish. I'm a sucker for Brussels Sprouts; if they're on the menu, I'm very likely gonna order them. The gumbo was pretty good, had a tomato richness to it. I forgot what my friend ordered; probably cause I had too many martinis. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from Hammond but it's worth it. Check it out when you're in the area!

It was a little odd, we were the only customers in the restaurant the entire time we were there! Yes, it was Easter weekend, but it just felt odd at 7:00 on a Saturday night and we were the only ones there. Any way...we get seated at our table and ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. For the price, we were expecting more than one tiny crab cake. It was just ok. We were served bread with their signature flavored butter which was good. For dinner I ordered the filet cooked medium and my husband ordered the trout special. My steak was decent, slightly undercooked for my liking, but good flavor. My husband's trout was the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen on someone's plate at a restaurant. He enjoyed it but was still hungry after his meal. We opted not to get dessert since we were the only customers in the restaurant we felt like the staff were waiting for us to leave. That may not have been the case but that's how we felt. Maybe we picked a bad time to try this restaurant so we will give them another try. I would say this a great place for a special occasion if you're looking for ambience.
