    Bacon, Egg & Cheese
    Marisa R.

I was weary about visiting considering the reviews, but I wanted to give it a shot anyway. I gotta say, I really was not disappointed with my experience. I got a bacon, egg & cheese on an everything bagel; it was served up quickly- I think I waited 5 minutes? Veryyyy fresh and tasty! However, what I will say was that based on the tastiness of the sandwich overall, I am not sure I would recommend getting the bagel by itself. Which is ironic considering it IS a bagel joint. I found the bagel to be somewhat bland, considering it was an everything bagel, I wanted more of a pop in the bagel flavor. So overall, would I recommend? Yeah, I would! I would recommend this as a sandwich joint, not so much a "NY Bagel" experience.

Against my better judgement I went back to Buddy's. Didn't have time went strictly for convenience since we had a houseful of guests. Went arrived just after opening which they weren't even prepared for. No plain cream cheese available so I only grabbed the green scallion cream cheese. The pieces of onion could have been cut a lot smaller. The bagels were still in bags from being delivered I am assuming that they baked somewhere else. With that being said they did not seem fresh at all. I was embarrassed after serving the bagels. They were tough, and needed to be toasted just to eat. A good fresh bagel does not need to be toasted! After breakfast I told my wife not to let me ever stop here again. These people should not be in the bagel business. Don't be mad but I have given them multiple chances.

    Sesame with veggie cream cheese

Very cute bagel shop with friendly and quick service and a good variety of bagels, cream cheeses, and menu items. We tried a sesame with salmon cream cheese and a sesame with veggie cream cheese. The cream cheeses were fresh and tasty, and the bagels were nice and soft. However, they weren't quite as big and chewy as what you'll get in NY/NJ. I'd definitely give it another try though.

    Reuben on Rye

Two very good visits Yesterday I popped in for a good salty toasted Everything Bagel with a cream cheese schmear. My order taker was pleasant and efficiently sliced, toasted, and added plenty of cream cheese. I prefer too much vs too little, that way a disciplined person could remove any deemed to be excess. I'm not that disciplined and enjoyed it all. They have a few small tables inside and a few more outside next to the parking. I sat inside and while enjoying my bagel was able to look over their menu board and saw they also offer several sandwiches. One was a Reuben, which brings me to my second visit. For lunch today I was back at Brooklyn Bagels, this time for a delicious Reuben on Rye. My order taker, a different person than before, was also very pleasant. My sandwich was excellent. During both visits I was impressed the staff knew most of their customers by name and sometimes their usual order.

Excellent NY style bagels. Very friendly staff. Will be going there again for sure.

One of the best breakfast spots in Sarasota-Manatee. Plenty of choices for bagels and sandwiches. Great and friendly staff too.

Paid for extra Taylor Ham so I got 2 slices for an extra $3.75!?!?!!!!

Not pleased with the breakfast sandwich meat to price ratio. Asked for a Taylor Ham, Egg and cheese with extra meat, on a Garlic bagel with pepper and ketchup. Got charged an extra $3.75 for the extra meat. What I got was 2 slices of Taylor Ham, with a fried egg and a slice of cheese on a grilled Garlic bagel. No pepper, no ketchup and if 2 slices of Taylor Ham is "extra", I guess a regular sandwich only has 1 slice of meat. Pricey sandwich was over $10.00. Not worth it!! Highly disappointed. The bagel was good, hence the 2 stars.

I've had bagels in a lot of places and these have got to be the best i've had anywhere in Sarasota. Taylor ham and cheese on a bagel so delicious. My husband loves salt bagels and they have them here. Great employees and great bagels.

Can I buy bagels to go?

    Yes you can.

Are their bagels true New York style? So tired of the dry imitation one finds in the grocery store

I don't think you will be disappointed let's put it that way

They're known for classic deli fare like pastrami, Reuben sandwiches, matzo ball soup, potato pancakes, stuffed cabbage, and famous cakes like the Rascal House chocolate cake. The vibrant deli is filled with Broadway & celebrity memorabilia. It is a modern revival of a classic deli with full-service dining, a lively bar, and both indoor & outdoor seating, As a child, a highlight of visiting, my grandparents was getting online at Wolfie's in Miami Beach. The original, iconic Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House and Wolfie's Delicatessen in Miami Beach & Sunny Isles closed in 2008. The original Miami Beach locations were famous landmarks for 50 years before closing. We almost missed the deli. It's sort of around the corner in a little alleyway. We walked in past the bakery, deli meats, salads, and desserts before getting to the maître D. Danielle waited on us, she was informative and on point. We shared a pastrami on Rye and a potato knish. It was a lot of memorabilia inside as well as a full bar. We sat outdoors. It was a beautiful afternoon. Our potato knish was large. It was enough for two of us, a little cold in the middle. Our pastrami sandwich was too big to fit in my mouth, the meat was a little dry and tough. The dessert we ordered 4 Rugelach that tasted more like cake. I'm glad we shared because this would've been much too much to eat on my own. There seem to be confusion between our waitress and the kitchen, either they brought out something that we didn't order or nothing came out and Danielle thought we were serve served. Our shared dinner was reasonable, $40 for the both of us.

I wonder how long this bacon has been sitting around because it's dry and tough? THAT's NOT GOOD. Food should taste fresh as though it was just made, FOR ME. This food was not. It lacked flavor was not very warm and again did not express freshness. Bagel was also just okay. No where near a New York Bagel. Overall for a restaurant to be memorable each individual item has to be the best. This results in a total amazing meal. This meal unfortunately was not amazing just Okay. What was good? Glad you asked. Coffee was warm & tasted good. Extra points for providing real cream on the side. Love that! It's a great touch! The cream cheese was excellent. Service was also good. I think this place has great potential but definitely needs a new chef with more upscale, fresh ideas.
