    4 slice pepperoni pizza
    Joyce W.

My first time at Buddy's! Our server was really great and incredibly personable. We shared an individual size garden salad, buddy's cheesy bread, and a 4 slice pizza. It was so tasty! Really enjoyed the nostalgic vibe of the restaurant, too. Only thing that was off was that one of our plates at the table was dirty.

This was a perfect location for my sorority sister's fundraiser because everybody loves Buddy's. Buddy's is a staple in Motown and this Warren location did not disappoint. We had a packed house with various orders of the original Detroit-Style pizza. Some of us dined in and ordered takeout too to make sure our family at home could partake in the delicious 4-square pizza. They have four options of crust - original, thin, multi grain and even gluten free. I'm an original crust kind of girl! They have additional options to order salads, chicken and kid offerings. The service was great and they were accommodating to give us more tables in the main restaurant when the reserved room was at capacity. I do love the Made in Detroit sign in the front lobby in the waiting area!

When visiting Detroit, I knew I had to try the iconic pizza the city is known for, and there's no better place than Buddy's, where Detroit-style pizza was originally developed. Detroit-style pizza is made in a rectangular pan, with cheese spread all the way to the edges, creating a caramelized cheese crust. I tried the Detroiter, which is made with Wisconsin brick cheese, tomato basil sauce, pepperoni, shaved Parmesan cheese, and Buddy's spice blend. The pizza is thick and chewy, with deliciously crispy and caramelized edges. They have two pizza sizes: 4 squares, or 8 squares. I got the 4-square size, and was full after eating two squares. Highly recommend trying Buddy's Detroit-style pizza!

Staying in a nearby hotel and I ordered a 4 square original Detroit style pizza for carry out. It was ready right on time and absolutely delicious. I love the Wisconsin brick cheese, and there was a generous amount of it on my pizza. The original sauce is very tasty and the crust was perfect. This was an expertly prepared pizza! I was very happy to find this Buddy's location within blocks of my hotel.

Wow!!! This is the best Buddy's. I came here tonight and had Julia as a waitress! She was so friendly and nice. I told her I had a birthday reward and asked to upgrade to an 8 square pizza. We also ordered minestrone soup and buddy bread to start!! This bread is better than the bread at other buddy's locations. What really impressed me was my waitress brought out this 8 square pizza which I thought looked great but then told me she was sorry there was a bubble in it so they will be making Us a whole other cheese pizza to go complimentary!!! Blown away by this great service and food!! Thank you Buddys and Julia!! She's a great waitress!

Got a love Detroit style pizza... We always make sure we get some Detroit style pizza when we visit Michigan. As always the antipasto salad was awesome. The pizza was equally as awesome. The service was not up to par, but all in all, we did get our pizza fix. Definitely worthy of a visit.

Why did I ever leave? I met my high school friend for dinner. I told Max that Buddy's is an institution. Two of us got the 4 square. The inside is very welcoming and comfortable. The best part about this pizza are the sides because they are crunchy, chewy, cheesy goodness.

Ordered Detroit Public TV 4 Corners. The pizza crust is super oily and crispy. After eating your lips will be encrusted in Buddy's chapstick. The cheese is pungent and very bold. The sauce is not very noticeable because the cheese over powers it. The toppings were lacking but the few cupped pepperonis were good. They should rename this pizza The Scattered Brain due to the placement of the toppings. Crust 5/5 Cheese 5/5 Toppings 1/5 Freshness 5/5 Sauce 2/5 Value 3/5

This is supposed to be a Buddy's Pizza with regular pepperoni and old world pepperoni. Not sure why it's only on half the pizza.

The only other table with people was a group of 4 women having a friends night out. Service was good, but with an empty restaurant I would expect nothing less. The bread squares were fresh out of the oven and fantastic with their oil and spices. I tried the chicken piccata, which was good but not great. The sauce on my pasta side was very tasty, which stood out compared to the bland sauce served at some other Italian restaurants on their pasta side dish. As usually happens, there was enough to bring home food for a second meal. My husband had the spaghetti carbonara. It was also good, but not great. He really enjoyed the minestrone with chunky vegetables. Our friends tried the Senza lasagna and salmon and both were pleased. We did not have dessert, but did see the women at the other table ordered 4 different ones to share and they looked good. If we have room on the next visit I would try either the chocolate bomb-looking one or tiramisu. Then again, I could make a meal out of the bread and oil...

I kept hanging on to hope that it'll get better like before but this last evening was the absolute worse. I could go on about how long it took the food to arrive, and when it eventually did it was cold. I could go on about how they don't care about making it right in order to save the experience because it didn't happen. What I will say is this, which may get the owner's attention: YOU LOST A LOYAL CUSTOMER. I'm going to break this down in terms of money, which is all that clown seems to care about: My wife and I would come in at least twice a month, give or take. Each time we'd order a bottle of wine, two entrees, and maybe a dessert to take home if we felt that. Easily a $90-$100 bill plus 25% tip. So in a month we'd spend at least $200 at this establishment- not bad, you can afford to lose that. However, now that we're NOT ever coming in times that by 12 months and now you're missing out on $2,400. Aside from that bozo, if family was in town and we were looking for a nice spot, Antonio's was our first suggestion, and two to 4 other people we would bring could have easily upped our check to $400-$500 in just one evening, but of course that's just special occasions. Breaking this all down to the stooge who owns this dumpster, losing us means you're losing about $3,000 a year in revenue. And I know Salvatore's will be happy to gain that while actually serving quality food. **WHOMEVER IS READING THIS FROM ANTONIOS MAKE SURE THE OWNER SEES THIS. I WANT HIM TO KNOW**

Dinner was AMAZING....5/5 APPETIZER: "Burrata Camponata" A mound of this heavenly Eggplant Relish, severalthick slices of fresh Burrata oozing cheese, and a big mound of imported, freshly shaved Prosciutto off of the special shaver that sits in the dining room for the dishes that require this beautifully seasoned ham. Absolutely delicious appetizer! The basket of fresh Italian bread and olive oil for dipping was put to use with our glasses of Chianti and then enjoyed very soon as an olive oil topped bread base for our well-placed trio of this gorgeous appetizer. Next, for the salad, we chose to split the "Charred (on a hot coal grill !) Romaine on the grill Caesar Salad" with an anchovie garnish The perfectly seasoned croutons were made in-house, and so was their most divine (BEST I've ever had) Caesar dressing! We split 2 Entrees: Pasta Carbonara created in the imported, authentic, giant Parmesan wheel table-side Espresso-encrusted Prime cut sirloin steak Med Rare with roasted redskins and fresh, petite green beans. It was the most tender cut of beef with huge flavor, made even more so from the grill. It was perfection, simple fare, highest quality of ingredients, all prepared and presented beautifully. The staff were always attentive, though not smothering, and genuinely friendly with a ready smile. DESSERT: We split "heaven-in-your-mouth" x2 : a piece of Dubai Chocolate cheesecake and a serving of the Tiramisu. "Ecstasy," is all we could say as the perfect wrap-up to this gourmet trip to Italy Mangiabevi, you haunt me daily until I return.

Our dinner started with easy to make reservations for four for a Friday night. Once arrived we were promptly seated and introductions made, Annie was our server(and more). I had note seen the menu in over a year so I personally was delighted to see plenty of ocean going features, specifically the grilled Octopus, shellfish and more. Before the food everyone agreed on a drink. Everyone tried something different than the others. Drinks included a Chocolate Martini, Limoncello(homemade) like grandma made it) Martini, Tanqueray and Tonic and Makers Mark Old fashioned for me. Everyone agreed the drinks were just right. Annie was then asked to bring out some Grilled Octopus. A HUGE and thick long leg was then served. DELICIOUS! Dinner was ordered with some questions(by me). I was intrigued by the Black Linguine. Basically a fruit de Mare or shellfish but with white wine. I asked for a subscription to a spicy red pasta sauce, not available. However, my friends wife chose this and said it was delicious. My friend and also my opted for the table side Carbonara. Basically a long sting pasta with a cheese wheel at the table. The cheese gets heated up and then scraped and put into the pasta. Our cheese scraper was entertaining and put on a nice show. For me, I decided on the Branzino, which was served whole but deboned at the table, with sauteed spinach. From the first bite, I was in heaven. We then had a second round of drinks, the girls switched things up and went for Cosmos, us guys repeated what we had earlier. Lastly, we just had to have dessert and were we glad we did. Both couple opted to share with one another. Our friends chose the Profiterole which they said was delicious. However, everyone loved our choice; Nicciola Mousse Tart. This is a MUST get. I can't even describe it other than I should have gotten one for the road. This place also had some soft entertainment, keyboard player. So glad we made the journey here. Highly recommend it!

If you want a lot of topping options, Louis isn't for you, it's far more limited than competitors, but I would argue they perfect the basics. The interior is charming in a straight out of the 1970s sort of way. The dining area can get pretty loud but the noise level is friendly and it's great being in a full restaurant surrounded by other people having a good time. There's a strong community feeling you don't get in sterile, corporate chains or local takeout spots. Despite my overwhelming praise for the pizzas they make, I also have to be honest. In the most charitable way possible, I hope that they can take some of their much deserved recent success and reinvest it back into the business because the front of house staff is regularly in over their heads. You can safely add 15 minutes to whatever time they quote you when placing your order. I had one order that was close to 30 minutes late and another that was missing all the extra sauces. As a result, pickup orders are very frustrating. The other criticism I have is that the parking lot is very crowded and routinely spills out into the surrounding streets. The lot size is limited, so not much they can do but they could work with the city to repave the lot and color label certain areas. I hope more people check out Louis. It is a gem.

It's easy to figure out what happened; the owners of Firenze brought Gordon Ramsey in thinking he would magically transform their restaurant into a new, trendy, high-end destination with a menu that would appeal to the new, trendy, Tic-Tok generation. Unfortunately, the demographic in South-Warren isn't going to bite. What made Firenze so popular in the area was its old-fashioned charm, and all-inclusive meals at a reasonable price-point. Firenze's nostalgic appeal and affordability has been obliterated for a slick, glossy concept created by a multi-millionaire who is completely unfamiliar with this Southeast Michigan neighborhood and the sensibilities of those who live in it. Bottom line; the food was good, not great, and definitely not worth the total. Two of us ordered a pasta dish, and a chopped salad. Our bill with tip came to $75.00. Firenze missed the mark, and completely forgot their longtime patrons who loved their restaurant as it was. I wish you success, but we won't be back.
