Sorrento Pizza, located in warren on 9 mile road. Had a hankering for pizza for days, however due to the schedule I was keeping, everyone seemed to be closed when I was ready for dinner. Tonight I made it a point to leave the job at a decent hour so I could grab a pizza and kill the craving. I chose Sorrento based on Yelp reviews and when ordering discovered that apparently I had gotten a pizza from this location a year prior. I went in for pickup as they won't deliver to the area that I stay due to; dare I say it, high crime. While the area is sketchy, and I don't blame them for staying away, I have never had an issue there. Regardless, I placed a phone order and started my 30 mile drive to grab the pie and go to the house. When I arrived; the pie was waiting; and it was hot and ready to go. I threw it in the car and embarked on my 2 mile drive back to the base. When I arrived at the house, it was still warm and I brought it inside and began to devour it. The pizza was very good. Doughy crust, delicious toppings, and ample cheese and sauce. I won't lie, I ate almost an entire large by myself. I've friend several pies while in the detroit area, pizza papalis is a fave, but I don't always have time for that drive. And that's a huge deep dish Chicago style pie. Sorrento hit the spot and will be a staple for years to come now that I know the location and have tried the pizza. The staff was friendly when I picked up and the quality was very good. read more

This was my first visit. I was ready for lunch and they were in the right place at the right time. I walked in and asked if they sold pizza by the slice. I was assured they did. I paid $4 for two slices of cheese and pepperoni, round pizza. With not much room inside to enjoy my meal, I opted to sit out in my truck. The pizza was satisfyingly delicious. The pizza is great , it seems like the large is smaller than the average large pizza and there is never a deals on the pizza there.

Horrible service, tried placing a catering order for my business just on the other side of 8 mile. 1 mile away. They told me they don't deliver to Detroit. I tried to explain that we were a business and nowhere near residential homes and if they could make an exception. The manager still refused. Been getting my pizza here for years and the last few times it has been so bad. Steak calzone had something on it that was suppose to be meat looked like a thin slice of something and the shredded cheese was maybe 2 thin slices of a cheese with some watered down mushrooms. This was apparently a childhood staple for one of us but the other stumbled upon it today when volunteering nearby. From the outside of the place, we weren't quite sure what to expect as it appeared to be a hole in the wall but the drive thru line was growing. We dined inside where there was only seating for six but it was just enough. We tried only the pizza (round) and the cheese bread and were pleasantly surprised. Not only did everything come up quickly, but the food was amazing! We essentially made our own meat lover's pizza and the toppings were stacked! The pizza dough was chewy but not doughy and there was just enough sauce. It was so good, I broke into the leftovers right when I got home (not even thirty minutes later)! By the way, if you don't know, this is completely different then the 'Sam Sorrento Pizza' places that are around metro Detroit. It's big, really big. It's you cannot eat this in one sitting BIG. Did I mention it was wet with their stellar sauce and put in the Pizza Oven to bake on the gobs of Mozzarella Cheese? We loooooooooove Sorrento's pizza (at this location)!! When my husband was a wee one, he would walk many a highschool lunch breaks on over to Sorrento's to grab himself a slice or two. Back then they came wrapped in aluminum foil, he fondly remembers. Fast forward many moons, and on a trip down memory lane he decided to introduce me to a childhood favorite. Man! I wish he had done so, sooner! This Sorrento's serves up some good old American pies. I love the slightly sweet sauce and crispy crust, but the pepperoni is where it really is at! Deliciously curled up, slightly spicy grease filled cups of joy they are! Please feel free to check out the picture I have uploaded.. SO good! I like the variety of pizza's in different places, from Italy to Chicago - I've been to tons. In our region, this place is one of the better ones around! We like coming here for their $1 slices. Stopped here for a walk down memory lane. We used to go here after every football game. The pizza is still just as good but it has changed a little. The crust seems thicker. I really hate to rate this place a 3. Today was my first time trying them. I ordered the Billy's Firepit pizza and it is so good it make you wanna smack ya momma! No complaints at all on the taste and freshness of the pizza. The only issue I had was when I picked up the order the man at the window was wiping his face and mouth with his hands repeatedly and then asked for my card and have me my pizza without washing his hands. Normally I was say f it and leave but I wasn't the only one eating so I got it anyway. Even if we weren't in this COVID-19 pandemic it's still unsanitary. No one there had a mask or gloves on either which is not that big of deal to me but maybe to others. Pizza was still A-1. read more

Probably my favorite pizza place in the area. We moved to north Warren and don't get back much. It's the small details that make this place our favorite. The pizza is fresh, the ranch is left out of the box to stay cold, and the cannolis when available around the holidays taste like pumpkin pie.
