My favorite pizza around! I was there practically every two weeks when I lived around the corner from. Now I'm out in Macomb and don't make it down that way as much anymore. I know there's carryout by me but it's not the same when you want to go out! Please get a sit down restaurant somewhere on M59! The server Nina was great!!! The food was good! But why does Green Lantern have to have a guy blast music for a game called Bango? No one came in for this, noise. We came to relax have a few drinks, enjoy conversation and good pizza. When this guy came on it cleared the restaurant. Have good service, good food and you don't need all this noise to attract customers. It actually makes people leave. What a great experience we had yesterday here! Gloria was our waitress and really went above and beyond to help us and make it a great party! Also thank you to the girl at the front desk who arranged for our party of 15 to have an area together, and to make sure there were crayons and kids menus for the little ones. It was comforting to be able to have the party area in the front and away from other customers like it was our own party room. Gloria made sure that we didn't even have to ask for refills that everything was great. It's been a while since I've had Green Lantern Pizza, so my friend and I decided to stop in to this location and see what it was all about. The one sit down that I've been to was the one at 12 mile and John R, but I think that's since closed. The decor here is much different then it was at the other location, and was way more modern than I expected. Plenty of seating, a fabulous hostess and our server was great. I normally get their square deep dish pizza but the friend wanted a round one instead. Fine. We agreed on pepperoni only as a topping along with cheesy bread. We had ample drinks, but the pizza was just as greasy as I remember it. I can't say I loved the cheesy bread and we got very little marinara considering the size of the cheesy bread that came out. Said friend didn't use the ranch but I did. Overall a decent experience, but I still find them to be exceptionally greasy. Would I go back? of course, but not on my own. read more

I could live off lantern bread and ranch from here! Not a fan of the French onion soup, I'd pass if I were you. There is limited parking, outdoor seating, and a bar smack dab in the middle of the joint. I have only been here for lunch, and the parking lot is full, but inside isn't. Cool ambiance for a pizza place. It has a classy sports bar vibe with plenty of seating. Service was good. We got a Cobb salad, deep dish pepperoni and mushroom pizza, and kids burger with fries. The pizza was very good- crispy crust on the edges and the sauce was seasoned well. I love ranch on pizza, and the ranch was really good also. The Cobb salad was decent, nothing spectacular but good. My only complaint was the kids meal. The kids burger was a super small on an oversized bun. McDonald's happy meal burgers are bigger. I'd probably only get the kids burger for a 2/3 year old. Aside from food, they have a good selection of beers, and though I didn't try one, their cocktail list looked interesting. read more

I guess my expectations were set too high as I thought the pizza would be outstanding. It was good but my honest opinion is that Buddy's is far better. The salad was excellent and the highlight of the dinner. The service was passable but nothing outstanding. All in all I might go back next time I'm in Michigan (We live in Florida but spend August in Michigan) so I guess we'll see. read more

Never had a bad pizza from this place, unfortunately that changed tonight. Nothing crazy, but the amount of cheese was gross. Way too much. Each bite was just a glob of cheese instead of actual toppings and flavor. Soggy oily mess of cheese. We will of course continue to come back, and will always reccomend. But I would suggest making sure your pizza makers are trained better on the proper portioning of the toppings. read more

Just had the worst experience in a restaurant in, well, forever. I've been to this location several times and never had a problem, probably because we never sat at the bar. This time we did and instantly regretted it. The bartender hands us the menus and our drinks then disappears for at least 30 minutes. Two ladies came in after us and said out loud "is no one working the bar?" We told them a lady handed us our drinks then disappeared along time ago. A young waitress must have overheard her and took their order, which annoyed me because we were there at least 10 to 15 minutes before they were. When their food arrived I got her attention by saying and I quote (because this comes into play later) "excuse me miss, nobody took our order for food and we were here way before they were." I was blunt but I didn't yell. She apologized, took our order, my husband asked where the bartender went, she mumbled something we didn't catch, she brought our food, we said thank you, then our bartender finally materialized out of thin air. I noticed a man on the other side of the bar that kept talking to the bartender and looking at us over the next half hour or so but I ignored him, thinking I was paranoid. I was playing a game on my iPad and my husband was playing Keno. The next thing I knew, the the from across the bar was sitting way too close to me on my other side, trying to talk to me about what happened with the waitress earlier. I was pretty confused because I thought it was a nothing situation so I asked if he was an employee, thinking he might have been a manager off duty or something. He said no, just a costumer that thinks I was in the wrong or something along that line. This man was extremely drunk and in my personal space so I told him to go away. When he didn't I told him to eff off and that's when things just went off the rails. We got into a shouting match that boils down to him lying about me yelling at the waitress and me and my husband telling him to mind his own business. I do not blame the restaurant for any of this, what I blame them for is I asked the bartender to put a stop to this once I found out she was the manager. I didn't do anything wrong. She knew that idiot was drunk since she was the one making sure each of his hands had a shot of whiskey and beer (I was drinking water), plus he was running his mouth for at least 30 minutes to her. Then when I tried to explain what happened, she was pretty much taking his and the waitress side (cherry on top she lied and said I yelled.). She also lied and said he wasn't a regular, even though he knew the staff by name. I thought it was pretty funny when they were saying this was all on camera until I said good, let's watch it and see who is telling the truth then suddenly nobody wanted to talk about the cameras anymore. I would avoid this place like the plague. This woman allowed the three of us to yell and cuss at each other in front of kids and picked a retarded drunk over two people minding their own business. I have no idea what her name is but she's blond, petite and looks like she smokes about 5 packs a day. read more

While visiting Detroit one must sample true Detroit Style Pizza. Yes, Little Caeser's did originate there -which has the deep!deep! dish pizza, but that is an embarrassment when compared to the offering from Green Lantern. I can also note that Domino's also started locally, but they don't offer a true Detroit Style pie. The Detroit Style is a deep-dish square pizza, with crispy edges and bottom. Some places have the sauce on top of the cheese and toppings others have a traditional construction with the sauce under the cheese. (My Preference). We visited the location in Clinton Township and could not have had a better experience. We ordered the traditional square pizza with Pepperoni and onions on all, and for me, bell pepper and sausage on half (I like the extra -where my wife just wants the two). I also got a small salad. Of course, we had a couple of frosty beverages with our meal. One thing I noticed when compared to a different Green Lantern location, I was able to get Caeser dressing with my salad here, which is not available at a different location, so thank you for that. On to the review of the pizza. INCREDIBLE, FANTASTIC, INSANELY GOOD. Oh man, what a great combination of crunch from the edges of the crust, chew from the inner portions. Additionally, there is just enough grease; fat = flavor (as they say) to meld it all together. They also did not shortcut on the cheese, of which there was plenty. My wife thought that they included plenty of toppings, while I wished they had covered the pie a bit more, but they were not so lacking as to affect the rating. After looking reviews of other Green Lantern locations, it seems, this is one of the better ones and I would concur. read more

My previous review for Green Lantern was 5 stars. Why? Because they were amazing. Sadly, they're losing two stars due to their diminishing quality and quantity of their antipasto salad and their lack of customer response. Over the last few months I've watched the toppings on the salad dwindle.... after every order, I'd complete the review and mention this. Their antipasto was perfect - plentiful toppings and great tasting. Unfortunately, this past Sunday's salad didn't just have diminished toppings - a third of the salad was missing. The once filled container wasn't full -- not even close. The pizza? Still solid. Just don't waste your money on the salad. We always get a pizza and a salad --- which means Green Lantern most likely won't be a part of Sunday dinner rotation. (Also, I used the webform to contact them -- no reply. The building is huge compared to the Madison heights location that I'm used to. Patio is nice, too. Food always a 5. Unfortunately, we had the rudest server yesterday. Horrible attitude from the beginning, and when my friend asked about deep dish round (which they don't carry at this location for some reason??), she got a huge attitude and said "uh do you mean square?"
