I love everything here from soup to pizza. Service is great, gets a bit crazy when real busy.

I had lunch at Buddy's today and was really happy with the quality and portions of the food I ordered. Service was great and the price reasonable. I ordered the Greek Salad and the 4 slice version of their Lake Huron pizza. I brought leftovers from both back to my hotel for dinner. Give it a try. read more

How this place was anointed the king of Detroit pizza is beyond me. We got a carry out with an 8 corner with 3 toppings (Roasted garlic, Tomato slices, and Fresh Basil), 16 wings, and a medium antipasto salad. $47! The pizza was ok, I especially liked the crust. For what they charge for toppings, you'd think there might be a little bit on your pizza, not the case. The garlic was not roasted but just chopped and still pretty hard, as if it was thrown on after the pizza was cooked. The Antiapasto salad was unremarkable as well. Where are the pepperocini and olives? The worst part of the meal was the wings. 16 tiny soggy wings for $15? C'mon. There is nothing about this place that makes me want to come back. They are all right, Buddy's is the best square pizza Ive ever had, and I have lived from BK to LA, not the best pizza in the US but its pretty darn close. I would definitely recommend Buddy's!!!! read more

Tried Buddy's for the first time today and all I have to say is wow! I started off with the house salad and the house dressing. That dressing alone was simply wonderful. Then I ordered the margarita pizza and every bite was better than the last. I highly recommend the margarita pizza to anyone, it's so fresh and the crust is so flavorful. Even my picky three year old loved his pizza! I had no complaints about this place and I will recommend it to all my friends. So glad I finally know what all the hype about Buddy's is about! I would recommend Buddy's to anyone. I took my parents and they fell in love too. I highly recommend the antipasto salad, Detroiter and Detroit Zoo pizzas. Ample seating, pleasant atmosphere and the staff was attentive without being overbearing. read more

Buddy's Pizza is by far the best pizza I have ever had, and I have traveled all over the world and it is still my all time favorite pizza. The crust is amazing with a thick crunchy bottom but still soft and on the inside. The toppings and sauce are amazing! Don't forget to order the antipasto salad as well, the dressing paired with the meats and Wisconsin brick cheese make this salad a must have whenever I go to Buddy's. read more

Pizza is tasty.... A bit heavy but good. Worth going to if you are craving a good pizza and don't mind some food coma after.

We came here on a Valentine's, so it was very busy and the food was very late (over 40 min), the orders were confused as were a company of 6. Terrible Pizza for what it cost, I ordered the Vegetarian. First of all 4 slices for 11.99 is a ripoff, but I figured if you charge that much for such a small serving it must be awesome. I was in Buddy's pizza when it flooded in August of 2014. 16 inches of dirty flood water that smelled of sewage through the entire restaurant. Buddy's pizza opened back up again in 36 hours without replacing the carpet, walls, seat cushions or anything. You can't go wrong coming here. For starters, this place is always packed so you know it can't be bad when its always hoppin! We sat at the bar and the bartender Ty is awesome, just a cool guy to shoot the shit with and very quick server. We ordered anti pasto salad, pizza, the meatballs, and chicken bites. Everything was great, and even served to us rather quickly. The salad is very good with a great dressing. Meatballs were awesome, chicken bites were even good for a pizza place. But the pizza... omg its by far the best ever. The toppings are phenominal, they even put pepperoni under the cheese, and the crust is something I could east by itself! I was ignored by the staff, and when my food was finally brought out it was frozen in the middle. The manager tried to smooth things over, but left me standing there alone for several minutes. All I wanted to do was pay my bill and get out of there. Overall it was a bad experience and I will never go back. This was the 2nd time I had a problem with this location. read more

Service was horrible, some of the staff were extremely impolite and rude. I felt The all-you-can eat pizza and salad is a scam, because they loaded us up on salad and breadsticks, and were stingy on the pizza. When I had ordered an additional pizza, they said it would be made. After 30 minutes, they never made the pizza and I ended up only eating 1 slice of pizza the whole time because I didn't want to load up on salad or breadsticks. The pizza I wanted was never made! When asked, the staff then came out and warned us not to take any of the pizza out. The all-you-can-eat is not a good deal, and the pizza is very small. I never liked the overall quality of the food and it is always overpriced. If you do partake in the all-you-can-eat, I recommend bringing discrete containers to store extra slices because they give you attitude about bringing pizza home even though it might sight out in the open. The only way I will eat at Buddy's is for office functions, otherwise I will avoid them for their overpriced food and low quality service and I don't see any value in their food. read more

Recently visited Buddy's Pizza with my husband and we were REALLY DISAPPOINTED with our pizza. We ordered a BQQ Chicken Pizza and a Tuscan Vegan Pizza. I'm no pizza guru, but I'm pretty sure a bqq chicken pizza shouldn't taste like a hotdog. My Vegan Pizza was just as disgusting, I was expecting a little bit more than Vegan cheese and beans. I expressed my frustration with the manger, she declined on giving me a refund on a pizza that I had only taken 2 bites out of it, and opted for a $5.00 coupon (Which I left on the table). I only ordered for take out because they don't deliver. Otherwise 5 stars. The Mac and cheese is delicious and comes with a side of either salad or soup. The price is fair as well. Sorry, I'm a Loui's (Hazel Park) girl, born and raised. I'm not normally a deep dish fan and if I had my absolute choice it would be Supino's in Detroit but I didn't get to choose tonight. The pizza here is good and ranks right up there with Green Lantern but doesn't hold a candle to Loui's. We had the Detroiter which is simple enough, cheese and pepperoni. Crust was soft and didn't really have that "bite" I was looking for in the edges. Some of the pepperoni was a bit too charred and way too salty for my taste but it certainly wasn't bad. The Greek salad was great but had a few too many starting to turn brown bits of lettuce. The restaurant wasn't too crowded but we did get stuck at a too small table--my husband is well over 6'5 and can hardly fit into some of these crammed tables. No booths were available. We made due. Husband ordered a beer--Oberon seasonal on draught. The beer had a slightly off taste but hubby drank it anyway but wasn't too happy about it. We ended up taking half the pizza home which almost never happens at Loui's but we had leftovers for later. Wasn't a bad experience but I just can't see all the accolades that this place gets. read more

I was in town for business so decided to try Buddy's as it was right down the street from my hotel. I was NOTNOTNOT impressed. First of all, I ordered carry out and brought it back to my hotel; the restaurant forgot to add a few items to my order. I ordered a turkey burger, fries, and a side salad. First of all the burger bun was very dry. The actual turkey burger was ok, but they forgot to put the side of dijon sauce in the bag. I also did not receive the side of dill chips. The side salad was merely iceberg lettuce (of which was a little wilty) with three small cherry tomatoes. The fries were soggy and cold. Also, they did not include silverware (which I asked for). It's too bad...I was looking forward to a good meal. I'd advise anyone to find a different restaurant in the area. read more

Ok...I love Buddy's pizza. They have great food, but the service at this Buddy's is the worst. We have had a couple of bad experiences but tonight's experience was the worst restaurant experience I have EVER had anywhere. My family went out the celebrate my brother going back to Virginia. There were nine of us. From the start the waitress seemed very flustered. We are understanding people and we were not in a rush since the purpose of going to dinner was to spend time together and enjoy each other's company before parting for a while. When dinner finally came out, four out of the nine of our orders were wrong and two of the orders were not even put into the kitchen at all. We all got our dinner at different times. When this information was brought to the waitresses attention she kept blaming others for the mistakes, saying it was the kitchens fault or it was the computers fault. She was not apologetic and would walk away half way through our sentences, rolling her eyes and throwing up her arms. After the food was corrected and we were done eating, we had to ask multiple times for boxes and our bills. When the bills came, they were all wrong. There were things on the bills that no one at our table ordered at all. After the bills were corrected,My uncle gave the waitress his credit card to pay for his portion of dinner and they lost his credit card. Another waitress had picked up his credit card and for five minutes they didn't know where it had gone to. Our waitress gave my uncle someone else's credit card. By this time the manager had come to the table. Our waitress was beyond upset and was grabbing bills our of our hands and being extremely rude. While we were eating our dinner a bus boy was putting plates away, sneezed on the palm of him hand and then used that hand to place each individual plate in a pile, ready to be eaten on by customers. GROSS! While the restaurant experience was beyond horrible, I have to say that the management did a good job at compensating us for the bad experience and took care of our entire bill. Thank you management. We will not be returning to this Buddy's pizza. read more

After all the hype, i figured i should try it out. The pizza was pretty decent. Overall a good meal. The service was quite good as well, we came in late, an hour before closing. The only issue was the cheese pizza was missing most of the cheese. They claimed it had baked off... Never heard of such a thing, (i worked pizza for several years as well) but none the less, threw a second pizza in the oven to replace it right away and it was on the table in ten minutes. Visited the area and carried out for the first time. Ordered the 8 square with pepperoni and banana peppers. Pizza is about 1 inch thick, more than half of it is the bread. The bread is very delicious. I felt like it was almost like garlic bread on pizza. Cheese is good as well. Pizza is unique compared to chicago pizza. We recently moved in down the street and heard how great Buddy's pizza was. Last week my husband ordered it with his friends and they all really liked it. So this week the rest of the family and I moved in and my husband suggested we order Buddy's. What a disappointment. He said this was not the same pizza he had a week earlier. There was very very little sauce. On the whole pizza there wasn't even enough sauce that would adequately cover one slice let alone the entire pizza. There was also no cheese. Not even a shred. We ordered a cheese pizza, how is there no cheese on it? We were really bummed that all we ate was bread. It's a shame because we really love pizza and moved in right down the street. They must be capable of making it correctly because my husband had just had it a week earlier. When I inquired about the lack of sauce and cheese I was told "That's how we make our pizza" so needless to say, we won't be ordering from them again. read more
