Food is amazing. Fast service on food. Most of the staff is Amazing. But I had a gal named Shauna that didn't have a clue what she was doing waiting tables. She struggled to capture my very simple order (I'm one person) (Southwest Hani and Tavern fries ). Then I watched her struggled with the single guy in the corner order. Once my order arrived it was missing something that she struggled to capture ( coney sauce on my Tavern fries) Otherwise this place SLAPS (as the kids say). I had great service, and was there a Saturday afternoon with 28 women playing euchre. Refills of beers and waters were timely. I saw the restrooms neighborhood cleaned and stocked. (Only one small in the ladies' room was a pain, but it is what it is). You could order from their menu or National Coney Island, which is on the front of the building. I had a Texas Melt. My brother and I are in town to see Reba McEntire in concert and staying at the Courtyard Marriott. Our first night at the hotel we decide to take a quick walk to Jinny's. The yelp reviews were favorable and it was in walking distance...so win/win. My brother ordered a BLT and a sweet tea. He lives in Oklahoma so he thought the sweet tea was "just okay". It's probably fine, he's just use to southern sweet tea. He demolished the BLT and fries so there is no doubt it was good. I ordered the Chili with the works, ground beef, onions, cheese. It was absolutely amazing, totally delicious. Because our waitress was adorably cute, I didn't want to embarrass myself...that's the only reason I didn't lick the bowl clean. I also ordered 5 wings (I cannot remember the flavor) but my god. I just had a conversation with a friend about how I think wings are wings. No place was ever better than any other place. I no longer think that. These wings were the best. The meat was falling off the bone, they weren't over-breaded, the sauce was soooooo good! I can guarantee I've never had wings even close to these. Our waitress was sweet, very attentive, and super friendly. She stopped by to check on us several times in the short time we were there. Gave this tavern a chance since it's walking distance from the hotel I'm currently staying at in Detroit but never again will I order anything but alcohol and wings. The vibe when you walk in is kind of odd. It's more of a local place where everybody knows each other and aren't friendly to tourist or people visiting. Anyways let's get to the food.. First time I went to the tavern I ordered the chili. It was horrible and it looked like dog food. Very salty and it was warm. Very disappointed with that dish.. The second time around I ordered the Texas melt. The burger was burnt and our waitress didn't offer me any ketchup or mustard for my fries. Horrible service and food. It wasn't busy so they there's no excuse for that. This is all my opinion but be very cautious if you decide to eat here. read more

Been going every Sunday for the past couple of months for their trivia. Food is pretty good for a bar. Their wings are my favorite and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys wings. (IF YOUR LOOKING FOR JIMMY'S ITS RIGHT BEHIND NATIONAL CONEY!) This is the kind of place where you can plant yourself and enjoy good well priced food and cheap cold beer. All the while enjoying a Red Wings, Tigers, Lions, Pistons, UM, etc. game. If your looking for a high end place or meet market this is not your joint, if your looking for a tasty hot meal and something cold wet and refreshing to wash it down with, at a very reasonable price then you've just hit gold. My Favorite: Grilled Hot Ham and Cheese with Onion Rings and a tall mug of Bud American Ale. I lost count of the ales I consumed but I drank until I was hungry again and ordered a toasted Tuna melt. After all was said and done I came out of pocket $14.50 with tip. Of course thats only counting a reasonable tip amount. I tipped a little larger because I was so happy with the food, drink, service, and atmosphere. This place is like the Cheers of Warren MI. After hanging out at Jimmy's a few days I knew roughly half of the regulars names. Don't take my word for it, go grab a beer and some great New York style food; Coneys, Burgers, Gyros, Sandwiches... This is the place next to National Coney Island. It is good. It's a cheap food restaurant with a decent bar, so that's how I shall rate it. It's good. You want to get you chill out and drink vibe on without spending too much, this is the place. The food is great (and offers the menu of the Coney Island in addition to its menu). The beer selection is good enough. Sit back, order some wings and fries, drink and enjoy. It has great service, it's clean, and the food and drink shall satisfy your taste buds. If you walk into Jimmy's on a good day than prepared to be amazed by the service and the food. However if you walk into Jimmy's on a bad day prepare to wait an additional 30+ min for food and the little Jimmy's may come out dry. Although I must admit even on a bad day I still go for the little jimmy because even a little dry they are very delicious. The pricing is fair and the menu options are vast seeing as you can also order off of the National Coney's menu along with Jimmy's menu. The bartender is amazing very friendly and willing to help her fellow coworkers in a jam. Taco Tuesdays are a must here $0.75 tacos great for the price although be prepared to wait because they are typically slammed on Tuesday so go early or go late just don't go right at noon. Overall a great place to grab a bite and shoot some pool before heading back to work or home. read more

My favorite local bar. I guess you could call it a dive bar (which is fine, I love dive bars), but this place is nicer than that descriptor. The beer is cold, the bartenders/servers are nice, and it's never elbow-to-elbow. You can get anything of the National Coney Island menu, or choose from the Jimmy's Tavern menu. The wings are excellent, the burgers are plump and juicy. I really like the pretzels and beer cheese (if you ask nicely, they will let you choose what beer they make it with). Great place to watch a game, get keyed and throw your money away playing Keno. They have a pool table, bubble hockey, and an internet jukebox that accepts cash only. Get some carry-out waffle fries with cheese to grub on later that night. read more

The ambiance is strange. Loud drunk guys "attempting" to play pool (seen this the last 2x I was there) that are kind of annoying. However, the delicious $1 taco tuesday (chicken or beef) makes up for it. Super fresh, fast and a huge side of sour cream is only .50. It is connected to National Coney Island and you can get their food walked in to you if you don't dig their offerings. Totally worth the troubles for these things alone. Blue collar, locals joint with a solid beer selection and your typical bar fare. It's the kind of place where the bartender calls you "honey" and "sweetie" and keeps your glass full. No egos. No frills. I Love these places and always try and support local business like Jimmy's over chains when I'm on the road. I had the spicy dry rub wings to start --- excellent! They packed a punch without being greasy or overley heavy. I followed up the wings with the Pepper Jack Burger with Onion Rings. The burger was above average, cooked to order, we'll seasoned and had a decent kick. The Onion Rings hit the spot as well. Jimmy's has your usual suspects on tap and by the bottle as well as a number of craft beers. I knocked down a couple of thier IPA's and a 7% per beer, a couple is all you need :) Tons of TV's too -- if you want to catch the big game, Jimmy's is probably playing it. Next time you're in Warren and looking to scratch your dive bar itch, look no further then Jimmy's! read more

I went for the .50 cent tacos. I left with a sense of great accomplishment. Downed 10 tacos and it only cost me $5.00. Of course, I had to buy a large pop for $1.99 but the refills were free. This is one of those great neighborhood bars where friends come to hangout and enjoy interesting craft beers on tap. The taps are in constant rotation. As one great beer is finished up another takes it's place. Every couple of weeks I can always try something new, something I've never had before. Jimmy's is really great that way. We love it when the Pink Lady is tending bar, she really knows her stuff, is funny and a wonderful human being. As for food my favorite is the fifty cent wings on Sundays. Good food. Good waitresses also. The downfall is the annoying loud alternative or odd music the bartenders play. They try to portray the bar as a "sports" bar, but you can't even hear the games because of the loud music. Most bars are very busy when a game is on, but Jimmy's hardly has any customers.
