*update* my wife & I decided to dine in for the first time & I gotta say, the service is horrible. If you're not a "regular" who's drinking alcohol, the waitress simply doesn't care. We seated ourselves & the waitress came by to take our drink order. When she came back, we ordered a cheesesteak & Philly chicken. 30 minutes goes by & the only thing we got were napkins & a bottle of ketchup. She went to the tables around us but never checked in with us. We have both worked in the food service industry & we know that you should never walk by your table without checking in. No, "your food will be out in a few minutes" or, "are you doing okay?" Nothing. Pizza is still very good. I however can not recommend dining in unless you like to waste your time while being treated differently than the regulars. Horrible, horrible, horrible. read more

I'm very fond of Fanellas. I've gone here or ordered delivery for a very long time now from here. Excellent tavern style pizza and pan pizza. Definitely worth the wait. Most of the appetizers are pretty standard and we usually get the garlic bread with cheese. Definitely come here but if you want piping hot tavern style thin crust, eat in. Libations flow freely. There is a nice game room so if you like to eat at the bar, a high top or bring the entire family there is room for you. read more

Been a Fanella's customer for over 10 years and it has the two things you want most from a pizza delivery experience. The delivery is always hot and fast and the pie is consistent. Is it the best pizza we have ever had? No but it is consistently good and the crust is crispy just like it should be. All their delivery and phone personnel are exemplary. We had some reservations when the business underwent a ownership change but it was still the same family and it's done nothing to hurt the quality. It actually might be better now! Great food! Since we are on "shelter in place" orders we needed something "exciting" to break up the day. We decided to place a take out order and they were so nice! The Bocci Ball meatball was amazing. I ordered the bourbon burger and it was probably one of my favorite burgers I've ever had. Not greasy at all but juicy. This has been a favorite of ours for the past 28 years. So we ordered our favorite chicken dinners for the family and I don't know what happened if theirs new ownership or what happened. 1st it took 2 hours for our delivery and were right across the lake, our meals were so bad Like very very dried out and tuff chicken. The food from the salads (which are huge) to the speciality pizzas, we have had no joke have had everything on the menu and it was beyond satisfactory. This used to be my favorite pizza place in Lake County. We would order it as a family at least once a month, probably even more often. We'd always get it as a carry out, not because the place is a bit of a dive but because we just like to eat at home. On a recent trip, I decided to take my two daughters to dine in. The pizza is truly to die for, and the kids like to dine in restaurants. Well, this was a huge mistake. First of all our server was a bit of a snot. That's me being nice. She was aloof, disinterested, and bordered on rude. When my 9 year old didn't like her chicken strips (they were quite nasty), she didn't say a thing. When I got the bill and saw that the chicken strips (that weren't eaten, remember) were charged more on the bill than what the menu said, the server stomped over to the menus, brought one over, and rudely pointed out on the menu where it said prices can change without notice. When I asked to talk to the manager, he REFUSED to come out and talk to me. The server actually tossed a single dollar bill on the table and told me the manager told her to give that to me. A DOLLAR. Are you effing kidding me?? This happened more than a month ago. We have not ordered since, and we probably won't. If this is how they treat their very frequent customers (they call me by name, mind you...because I pick up food so often) then they can kiss my butt. I will miss the pizza, for sure. But no pizza is worth being treated like shiz. read more

Recently called to order a pizza and used the delivery menu, on their website, to make my order. After dealing with someone who did not even know what was on their own menu (even if new, wait staff should have it memorized), it seemed slightly high so I called back to have a breakdown of the order given to me -- in case there was a mistake. Immediately I got a response that told me the menu on their website was not up to date and that the man on the phone, the owner I believe, was aware of this issue and had done absolutely nothing to fix this problem. And I don't believe he intends to. He then proceeded to tell me that he would not honor the prices listed on their website and that prices were "subject to change". Subject to change usually means that next week it might be a little more expensive, not that we won't honor the prices we show on our online delivery menu on the same day as you order them. It's not like this menu was in a drawer somewhere. As a business owner myself, I was completely insulted by the lack of care given to me to fix the situation. If you won't honor your prices or keep up with them, don't put a menu online. No apology was given, only excuses and rude back talking and only when I threatened to cancel my order did he try to give me a "$5" incentive. That's not the same as honoring prices you've given to customers on your website THAT DAY. At this point I was done dealing with this person, who seems to care little about customer happiness (especially for a first time customer, which he knew) and so we cancelled our order as it simply wasn't worth the trouble. I stopped here with my lady for a pizza after a movie on Saturday night. I'd read other reviews, and I've driven past this place hundreds of times, so I finally let curiosity get the best of me. One of my favorite things is discovering hidden gems out here in the boondocks, and I'll be the first to admit that I may have set my expectations too high. The atmosphere was exactly in line with what I was hoping for. Threadbare, dim and just a bit too dank, Fanella's is weathered in a way that makes me comfortable. Inside there's a half-and-half split between bar and restaurant. In the restaurant portion, there was an open mic music night going on, which is something I thoroughly enjoy. The food, on the other hand was nothing special. I ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza, because I've heard others rave about the sausage. It tasted very bland, and the crust was about the same as a Tombstone. I desperately wanted to like this pizza, but I've had much better elsewhere in the area. Maybe I'll go back and try the cracker thin crust; it might make the difference. I would definitely go back to this place just to have a few beers, throw some darts and hang out with friends. I love dive bars, we walked in and there was football on one TV, an award show on the other and a smattering of regulars kibitzing around the bar. Some of the regulars used walkers, but it added to the coziness of the place. Best part - it was a cold night (below freezing) and when one of the regulars got her bill, the bartender asked for her keys and went out to warm up her car. In addition to the great atmosphere, he pizza is fantastic. I was so impressed with the crust, the toppings piled high and real cheese! The beef barley soup was also yummy. This would get four stars but I added a fifth because they have adult root beer on tap! If you have never had it; get there now but be careful because it taste like root beer but gets you drunk like tequila. Good people, good food and good beer - Hopefully I'm still going here when I am using a walker. read more

So bummed we didnt like the food here! We were happy to find another place that delivers to us that's one star and a nice person over the phone that's the second star. The pizza was not good at all wayyyyy to much sauce and it's chunky and way to thick with no flavor really. My daughter who eats everything only had one piece and my husband and I couldn't do more then that either. Waste of money especially since we got a large. The cheese curds were way over cooked and very chewy the ranch seems like hidden valley ranch it was awful and warm. And the nachos were decent but holy grease from the meat!! We ordered delivery of a Large thin crust with Canadian bacon and pineapple. The woman taking our order was funny, helpful and friendly. The delivery was on time. The pizza was big. That being said, the pizza was a bit plain. The sauce didn't "wow" me and although the crust was nice and crispy on the edges and slightly chewy in the center (as it should be) it seemed a bit lacking in flavor. I definitely would like to try another pie to see if it was just my order. Overall, the pizza was good, not great, but the service and prompt delivery on a Saturday deserves 4 stars. read more

!st timers and last timers. Pan Pizza is not pan pizza more like a double crust, doesn't even come out in a pan, maybe 1" thick-tops. Thin crust tasted no better, sauce is plain, no original flavor, like marinara sauce. Cheese is a combo mozzarella/provolone, runny cheese, not a good thick cheese, my 12" thin crust had 4 pieces with no cheese on it. Pan had very little compared to other places. Waitress didn't care if we liked it or not. 4 pieces eaten out of 2 pizzas and didn't give a dam when we told her we weren't taking it home and we didn't care for it. And a pitcher of beer miller lite 10.50 higher then most. read more
