Fantastic! My car was broken into and the side window smashed. I did a search for somewhere close by and I knew where Marshall Avenue was so I called them. I spoke with Tony, who gave his name when he answered the phone. I asked about his services and he said he could take my car right away. Well, I wasn't quite ready but, just after we spoke, he texted me the address information. As I was looking for the business (I drove right by), he called me and talked to me as I drove around to try again. Once he told me how to find them, it was easy. as I drove up, Tony was waiting for me outside and directed me to pull into the garage. As I left my car, I was warmly greeted by one of the technicians. Then Tony came over and told me that my windshield wipers needed replacement, which I pretty much knew, so I authorized that. I found a seat in the shade while the professionals did their work. Tony came by and offered me to sit inside with the air conditioning, but I was fine. Then he brought me a bottle of ice water. I can't really talk about the pricing because I don't have a lot of experience with this but I felt it was a good price and they accept credit cards. They did good work and they vacuumed the glass from the passenger side of the car. I was so appreciative of that. Tony could give a master class in customer service. My car's windshield recently showed a crack that unfortunately doubled in size within a few days. I quickly found a few vendors on Yelp. Of the first two I phoned, one has yet to return my message after five days and the second didn't return my message after four. (I'll note in passing that each had many 5-star reviews and one claimed a response time of "10 minutes" and a " 100% response rate." (I guess the complete absence of a response to me kinda screwed with that, huh?) IAC, the third picked up as I began to leave a message and that person was Tony at Budget Auto Glass in El Cajon. Although he immediately offered - he practically insisted! - to drive to me that day (it was after 3:30pm and I noted later they closed at 5:00pm), I preferred to see him the following day. On meeting Tony, he showed me how incredibly professional and obliging he was. Although I'd intended - and told him on our phone call - that I was going to drop by and just get his opinion re what was required to fix or replace the windshield, a general estimate, a guesstimate as to how long it would take to repair it, as well as when he could fit me in. He looked at me, gave me a big smile, and said, "How about now? It'll take about an hour and a half." (The job was completed within about an hour while I waited.) Tony also advised me as to how to obtain reimbursement from my insurance and answered all my questions re that as well as the windshield installation. To summarize, I strongly recommend you phone Tony at Budget Auto Glass should you need any work done on your auto glass. He proved to be incredibly friendly, helpful, and quick with respect to fixing the problem I had. After someone hit and ran my car, I noticed the small crack in my windshield grew larger. I was shopping around and found Budget Auto Glass not only with great reviews but also the cheapest price for replacement. The service time was quick, and they did a great job. However, the reason for me giving them 3 stars is I keep finding black goop around my car and keep finding it randomly on my hands, clothes, purse, etc. I have wiped down the inside of my car numerous times but keep finding it on me somehow. I had the best experience today that makes up for the really lousy way this episode started out... My car was broken into (smashed the driver window) a couple of weeks ago. Weird stuff taken and money left behind. Of course nobody saw anything, cops won't come out.. So nothing left to do but clean up the mess, right? Triple A recommended Safelite and I called them. Mistake #1. They'd come out but not until the 19th... which really hung me up, but like a dummy, I took the appt. So last night I get an email that says they're not coming. Then I get two texts that says get ready, we are coming out. After 3 hrs of trying to contact them, I was finally able to speak with a person in their El Cajon shop and she said well, too bad about the mixed messages lady but if you don't like it, go somewhere else!!! I was in shock... but here's the good part. I googled "auto glass" and saw Budget Auto Glass listed with 5 stars and 330 likes. Called the owner and Tony said, sure bring your car down and I'll fix it for you... I was in and out of his shop at 251 N. Marshall in 50 minutes!!! He was so nice, but thoroughly professional and made sure everything was working perfectly--been in business for 23 years there. Took my vehicle here in November 2019 when my window regulator failed. I specifically asked the owner about the replacement Dorman regulators that were for sale on amazon/autozone for $45. He said that those were junk and ensured me that he would get an OEM replacement for my vehicle. Budget Auto Glass ordered the replacement window regulator and I came in a few days later to get the repair done. The Warranty offered with the replacement was one year. Within 1 week of the warranty expiring my regulator failed again. This time I decided to do the repair myself, to my surprise when I took the door apart, what do I see? Its the Dorman cheap knock off in there that failed. I would have just done the job myself if I'd have known what quality of parts were going to be installed. My car got pretty much destroyed in a sand/rock storm of death. These guys did incredible work. I ended up needing: A rear window(bashed out), a windshield, and 3-4 passenger side windows that had effectively been turned into frosted glass. They did fast work for a fair price, had the windows they needed largely in stock(I needed 5 or so replaced), got me an appointment almost immediately when I called(I called right at closing, they were available at 8:30am the next day with the window I needed), and spent the time waiting for the one window they didn't have cleaning up the car and fixing things they definitely did not have to do(duct tape residue, sand that got in the vehicle, cleaning up the headlight/break light plastic). My passenger mirror was smashed... never would have imagined such a thing would cost so much but the the repair with Budget Auto Glass was simple and painless. I first talked to the dealership and they were ridiculous. They wanted to charge almost as much in labor as the cost of the mirror and this mirror isn't cheap. And they needed the car for a full day. I started making calls around town and either they didn't carry the mirror, didn't know how to get it or just didn't answer their phone. I did a search and found Budget Auto Glass so I checked their Yelp reviews which overall were excellent. So I went down to the shop since I was nearby. I was greeted by the owner, Tony. I like Tony because he just cuts to the chase and tells you what needs to be done. He made a few phone calls, located the mirror and told me the cost and what it would cost for him to install. There was no way of getting around the cost of the actual mirror but their labor costs were much better than the dealer and everyone else I had contacted. This is actually quite important when you read the rest of the review. They will come to your home or work to do the repair. I requested they come out to my home and do the repair on a weekend morning. I got a call from Tony in the morning to verify and he gave me a two hour window when the the repairmen would arrive. They arrived well within the time frame given and they called me to let me know they were here. I met Brandon and Juan at my garage and they told me it would take 30 minutes to repair the mirror. I went back inside of my house and I hadn't sat down for more than 5 minutes when they called me again. I figured it was going to be bad news given I had just walked away but they told me they were done! I walked down to the garage and they were in fact finished! They said the old mirror came out very easily and the new one just fit right in. I checked and everything worked as it should and the mirror looked perfect! It was amazing service and very professional! Brandon and Juan were extremely pleasant and my car looks brand new again. The dealer wanted to charge almost triple for labor what Budget Auto Glass charged and I would have had to leave my car for a full day. With Budget Auto Glass they came to me and when it was convenient for me. They cover such a large area of San Diego. If I could make a suggestion/recommendation for the business: for convenience, it would be infinitely easier for me to have sent a photo of the broken mirror through text message or email. When I called, Tony said I had to come in. It seemed all he needed was my car VIN number and to see the mirror, both of which I could have sent him without having to go into the office. I've read other reviews where there seemed to be a problem paying and I understand Tony wants to take payment in person. I would recommend Tony setup PayPal or some other electronic means of payment so people can pay without having to drive all the way to their office. Again, these are just suggestions and I would absolutely use their service again but only hope I never have to. Great work, great service and great price. read more
