While the view is the main highway that runs through this sleepy town, it offers a bit of nostalgia from a day gone by. This time my drink glass had lipstick all over it, which the server thought was hilarious as well as embarrassing. I agree. The Smashburger is not a Smashburger at all. It's a decently flavored frozen puck that's been transformed into what ended up being a decent burger. You see, they know sauces well here as they're famous for all of their house made dressings and add-ons. The fries are homemade and come straight from the potato, but the oil is clearly old and the fries unfortunately were over overcooked. Well, this visit wasn't my favorite visit. I've really enjoyed my meals in the past. I will be back several times as I come through the town, but I'm not sure that it would be a destination restaurant for me. It's a factory-ish building. The feel of the place is very in line with their story and culture of a couple of guys who started brewing from their garage. Parked outside will usually be different food trucks. If not, hop hill serves food from the inn down the street. It's such a creative business concept and makes the visit a unique experience every time. Inside the space, they have games at every table and a jenga set. They're pet friendly and i got the chance to play with several cute pups! They have about 7 different types of beers on tap. I already raved about their morning blonde. Their house brew is also quite good. They also have a blood orange IPA which is also creative and not as hoppy as other IPAs. The best is that they serve 4 4oz flights for $6. Its super cheap and u get to try basically every beer in two flights. My only suggestions would be to open for more hours and to brew some beers that are higher percentage in alcohol. All of the beers are about 5-7%. They also have a lot of IPAs.. I wouldn't mind trying some stouts or wheat beers. I wish these guys the best of luck and success. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.

The service was good, and the food more than lived up to expectations. We started with tender, well-seasoned beef skewers, crispy buffalo wings over blue cheese, and perfectly cooked roasted cauliflower paired with a tasty tzatziki sauce and pickled onion. For my entree, I ordered the maple-glazed short rib. It was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and came with creamy sweet potato puree and roasted shallots. My friend ordered the rich, deeply flavorful bolognese. Although she received the small plate portion rather than the entree, it wasn't a major issue as we had more than enough food. There are still many items on the menu I'd like to try, and after such a strong first visit, I'll most certainly be back.
