Fast service on four brakes pads and shoes. I was given detailed information on the status of the job and elected to get it all done a few weeks ago. Absolutely no problems after two weeks. The down side to fast service was that the repair man didn't wipe the grease from my leather seat or door panel. 4.5. Rating would have been 5 if clean up had been done on interior. read more

I called at 10:12am today. I asked if they had time to look at my car for a second opinion Logan answered and said we'll I can't diagnose it until I see the car. Which I understood. I came in got checked in sat for an hour and half and still my car was not looked at. I asked nicely should I just make an appointment for a different day since the same 3 cars were still in the bay. Logan smarty replied "well I can't stop what I am doing to just look at your car." Never did I ask him to pause operations for me. I simply asked if I should just schedule for a day that wasn't as busy. I understand places are short staffed but to be rude is unacceptable. I have used budget brakes several times now and I've had an issue EVERYTIME. I do not recommend them to anyone. The 1st time I went they cross thread my lug nuts had to have the hub cut off somewhere else. 2nd time got new brakes and rotors and didn't solve the issue. N then yesterday took my car to have brakes checked n declined the services. I go down there to pick up my car and it's being test drove because they said my mom called back and told them to do it. They told me it was $502 for what they did. N argued with me for an hour and said pretty much it's our fault. 1st off I don't talk to my mom so she would NEVER of called them. They was mad they had to take parts off and then broke my lug nuts once again and told me I was gna have to pay for the new ones. read more

Went to this place a while back and never thought I would have to leave a review like this but I went due to my brakes squeaking. Ended up having to get calipers and brake pads over $600. Then had to come back a month later because I needed rotors???? I don't know why they didn't do it all at once. Anyway just had to get another check about 7 months later but I went to a different place. As they are checking everything they said my calipers were pinned in WRONG!!!!! My car needed new brakes after their useful life and after some light squeaking etc I decided to bring it to these guys. Everyone at the shop was very friendly, welcomed me at the door and got all the info they needed to begin. After inspecting the brakes they took the time to take me out to the shop area to show me exactly what was going on with the brakes, rotors, etc. They also gave me options on if i wanted to replace just the pads or rotors as well. None of that "uh well our company policy says we HAVE to replace your rotors and calipers if we change the pads" garbage you get at Midas. Anyway, most people expect to get ripped off on car repairs because of a bad experience or another. The entire process was non threatening and very clear. The person at Costco alerted me to a problem, during a tire rotation. The hub on my daughters car had been hit to point it was affecting the tire seating. In short the tire could have come off at anytime with my daughter. I'm a semi-terrible shade tree mechanic and I was afraid I would have to replace the hub. Anyway, I decided to call Budget Brakes and the manager said bring it in and let's take a look. I drug it over there. Long story short, Budget Brakes has seen this issue before and knew exactly what to do. They repair the hub in about 20 minutes. No kidding I was expecting to spend a lot of money that I don't have. Turns out, I spent more on Tow Dolly rental then hub repair. I've taken two different cars and have been completely satisfied with everything they've done. I was very lucky to find Logan at Budget Brakes. On Wed. Feb. 17, 2021 I had for the first time ever , an automobile tech tell me I did not need his service. I live in Sevierville Tenn. Two different places in Sevier County quoted me $ 575, and $ 525 for new brakes for my 2016 Honda H-RV SUV. Both places pulled the tires and told me what I needed. I was browsing the Net, found Budget Brakes and read their reviews. I called got Logan on the phone, 1:30 minutes later I was at his shop in West Knoxville. He was waiting on me because he was having an unusually slow day. He pulled my tires, and 10 minutes later called me to the garage to show me what he had found. Logan said I had at least another 15K miles on my brakes before I needed new ones. He then told me he was going to rotate my tires since he had already pulled all four. This was done for FREE. If you need any type of tire work, brakes or alignment work done and you don't go to Logan then you are seriously making a huge mistake. I will tell everyone I know about this HONEST man !! My 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan has known front end brake issues- from being under designed. I hear Chrysler has addressed this in later models, however. In my case, the front brakes needed to be beefed up to reduce overheating that prematurely reduce the life, etc if not dealt with. I felt that even though my brake, repair costs and time were getting very aggravating Rick and his mechanics helped to identify and focus on the problem to then create options. Although I am not yet sure I have nailed the problem at hand I believe we came up with a real solution. I will know more in the next few months as they settle in with my Knoxville Uber driving milage (about 3,000 miles a month). I came here for an alignment and they told me it also needed an outer tire rod and that it was going to cost $180+ instead of $79 and I told them that I would rather just replace it myself and come back for the alignment and after that they're service went from good to bad real quick. And after I replaced the tire rod and came back for an alignment, they made me wait all day for the service. I'm very unsatisfied and won't be coming back. read more

They close at 5, so at 5:45 when I hadn't received a call I was concerned and I called them. They said they tried to call me an hour before but had the wrong number. However, they assured me that my brakes didn't even need to be changed. I WANTED AN ALIGNMENT NOT BRAKES ‍ They took 4 hours to check my brakes... and I wanted an alignment. I was delighted by the service I received yesterday at Budget Brakes!! Not only do my brakes feel perfect and safe again; I was also very impressed by the friendliness of the crew who worked with me. The atmosphere of their waiting area was very comfortable and welcoming! I enjoyed the fact that the mechanics would make conversation and genuine interactions with their patrons as we waited. I compliment the transparency I was shown (I'm pretty sure they do this for everyone though!) when one of the friendly mechanics actually took me into the garage to show me the extent of my damage as he discussed what was necessary to repair (without up selling me on anything might I add!). I was pleased with the price of this as well! I don't recall a time I've ever been actively engaged like that during a car repair situation. Another thing, I appreciated the way the mechanics would openly recommend purchasing different car parts from local automotive stores near by them. It exuded a nice sense of community that this store shares with other stores in their industry! Our family has been taking all our cars here for many years. Jason is so honest and helpful that I never even consider going anywhere else. I was there today for some suspension noise I was hearing. They gave me an estimate for close to 1k worth of work because I asked for it, but assured me that nothing was broken and my car was safe to drive with the squeak. He did notice a mechanical problem and referred me to a very knowledgeable mechanic. They checked my brakes, which were installed here years ago, and they are still holding up well. We have been very happy with their brakes and service. It is also easy to walk over to shop, get nails done, or grab a bite to eat while you wait. All the bays were full and the guy at the desk had to search for my appt. He said they couldn't get me in now and I probably wouldn't be done by 230 but I could make an appt for another day. A couple of months ago I brought my used car that I had just purchased to Budget Brakes on Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN to have it checked out to make sure everything had been kept up by the previous owner. I typically go to a local shop for all my car needs but I am at school in Knoxville and the shop I usually go to is in Nashville so I decided to give Budget Brakes a try. They told me there were over $2000 worth of repairs that needed to be done including bad brake pads, rotors, the entire front suspension, etc. After I picked my chin up off the floor I asked to see these damages. The brake pads looked brand new to start and when I confronted him about it he said "oh well they're just cheap so they need to be ceramic" (not exactly the same thing as "bad" brake pads) I didn't know enough about cars to determine whether the rest of the "issues" were legitimate so with this first red flag I politely took my quote they handed me and left with no repairs made. As soon as they realized they weren't getting my money their whole tone changed and the "good service" changed to just plain rude on top of everything. As you probably have guessed by now when I took my car to another shop (I didn't tell them I had been anywhere else previously) to get a second opinion they said there was ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with my car! Not even the rotors were bad and they said the front suspension was in great condition. This just proves to me that Budget Brakes as a company needs to re-evaluate who they hire because they are crooks that try to rip off young college students just because they think they can get away with it. I will NEVER be back to Budget Brakes again and I will tell anyone who asks my opinion to go elsewhere. read more

We moved to Knoxville in June 2016, and without knowing anyone here we took my wife's Honda Pilot (66,000 miles on original brakes) to Budget Brakes on Kingston Pike due to the vehicle shaking when we applied brakes. They put on new front pads and machined the rotors, and checked the rear brakes for about $250. I took my GMC Terrain (98,000 miles with original brake pads) there today, and they put new brake pads and machined the rotors for the front and rear for about $360. The service was excellent both visits, and I thought the prices were fair (I mean, really, who likes to spend their money on brakes anyway?). The quality of the work that was done seems to be top-notch, and I will definitely recommend them to anyone needing brakes. I'm sure that if you check into the $89.95 deal you'll find conditions, that's how it is with any shop. We moved here from Houston, TX, and I know I couldn't have gotten a better price there. read more
