This shop has terrible customer service. I had a nail in my tire and asked if they can bring it in the guy over the phone told me they could with a wait ok that's fair so I drive the 20 minutes to get there overwhelmed. As I walk in the shop they told me they won't take it in like SERIOUSLY I drove 20 minutes to say they can take it in and they deny me at the door I get your understaffed on a weekend but that's just wrong. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Will never use this company again unbelievable! read more

I got my oil changed there and they stripped the threads on my my oil pan. Never had my oil leaking until I went there. Went some place else to get it it fixed. Cost me $350 for a new oil pan and labor. Also I had an alternator replaced which was still under warranty. Charged me over $700 to replace including $165 an hour for labor. read more

Altoona Big O Tires put on tires that were too small for my SUV. Upon discovery of the mishap, a few months later when a bubble appeared on one of the tires, which they fully admitted the car was not safe to drive with those tires, all four needed to be replaced, they refused to put the right tires on without me paying full price because I did not buy the tire warranty. They wouldn't even prorate it. NEVER EVER use Big O Tires! They do not stand behind their work. So I bought new tires at Firestone. read more

On February 15, 2005, we encountered two complete instant blowouts on the Interstate. Fortunately, the shop had two new matching Parelli's in stock. The tow service they referred us to was as excellent at the over service we received from the lead sales/service person was absolutely nothing short of outstanding. Here's a big THANK YOU to Adam Morton and his team of two technicians. Of special note: 1. The calming positive attitude in which we 3 octogenarians were respectfully treated 2. The way Arthur dug deep into our records along with those of our tire insurance company to ensure we received every $ we had coming. His persistence and advocacy remain much appreciated as the bill just arrive last week. We were back on the road that same very busy Saturday by early evening. The following evening we had another flat, this one slower leak caused by another pot-hole in South Bend, IN, covered again through our Big O sponsored insurance. So 3 flats in 2 days. BUT WAIT!. On Valentine's Day morning, we had our first of four pothole induced incidents, this time in South Carolina. The insurance companies told us they had never heard of such a thing. Found a "sale" online for tires. The price online was $545 called and made an appointment and even asked if this was out the door pricing. Well when they put the tires on they charged us $868. They said the extra $320 was the installation charge. I called them back and they refunded $250 of that. I feel this is very underhanded. read more

I've seat for over 4 hours just to be told they wasnt knowleable enough to know what the problem is . and trynna to make me pay more and keep my car till tomorrow their mechanic 3 of them didn't know enough to do anything to fix . Definitely wouldn't recommend for new vehicles since they don't know how to actualy fix the problem. Also been wait 25 mins in still wait for them to bring my car to the front even tho I've been told I'm all good to go and everything. Had the opportunity to chat with one of the fellows outside for a bit while my car was on the lift and overall walked out with a great impression of this business. My experience with Big Tires on Callahan Dr. Knoxville, TN was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to get me in the same day I called. They took my car back at the appointed time which was amazing. During the rotatation / inspection, the tech discovered a nail in my tire that was pluggable. The front desk notified me immediately and the repair was made quickly. They had chairs and tables in the waiting area, so I was comfortable while waiting. I would highly recommend Big O Tires for both sales and service after the sale. Very good people to work with. read more

Sorry for the long post- I purchased a set of tires and a 3-year alignment warranty on 03/21/2020 (a $1,000 ticket). The owner at the time was named Joe, I'm unsure of his last name. He gave me $75 off a 3-year alignment warranty (which I've used twice, only because the first time my steering wheel pulled so bad and my tires were wearing down rapidly.) I haven't used the warranty since because of Big O Tire's questionable service. I purchased new tires from a different company on 08/24/2022 and was told I needed an alignment. I remembered I had a warranty with Big O so I thought I'd give them another shot before my warranty was up. I called the Callahan location on 8/25/2022 and made an appointment for the following day. I took my car in for the alignment and initially spoke with a very kind, reasonable young man. When I came back to pick my car up, Ron Seagle (I'm assuming is the "manager" Yikes.) wanted to be the advisor to check me out. He told me that my car was good to go and didn't offer a receipt, an inspection sheet, or a printout of my alignment results. I asked for the alignment sheet and realized the camber and caster had not been touched. I had my boyfriend call Ron to let him know that his mechanics did not complete the job and Ron became very upset, raising his voice stating that "We will not service your cars anymore. I'm not going to fix the alignment, and I don't care if you have a warranty." Now that I wasted my morning, I still need an alignment, and an inspection because I am a little nervous that Ron may have had the mechanics skip over any potential issues with my car. I know I need front brakes and rotors and motor mounts, had Ron and the mechanics done their jobs, they could have made a ton of money off of me. My vehicle is my lifeline, my way to work, and my childrens ride to school, and this is simply unacceptable. Next time you're in there, ask to see the mechanics' ASEs, you'll likely drive to the next shop down the road. read more

I have now been here twice and both experiences were excellent. First, I had a flat tire and just wanted them to put a spare on for me but they immediately told me the tire could be repaired. I was so relieved and even happier when it was done in under 30 min and at a fair cost. The second time my check tire pressure light kept coming on even though I kept adding air to one tire so I swung by again. Same experience- they quickly determined it could be repaired and had it fixed at a fair price. TLDR; great service, quick service, fair pricing. read more

Went there on Sunday August 21st to have a tire repair, while they were removing tire off of wheel they damaged the rim, rim is off of a new car with less than 10,000 miles, so talk to manager on Monday the 22nd and they said send them pics and they will get wheel taken care of, few weeks went by and never heard anything from them so I called the store and the manager that I talked to denied talking to me and lied about his phone number when I gave him the cell phone number I text and have pictures of text where he said they would take care of the wheel, now I got passed on to the district manager his Name is Dan and same ole stuff, long story short finally got wheel over to them, so they can send off to have professionally repaired and I go and pic the car up and look at the professional repair job and it looks like they took the tire off and employee took wheel around back of shop and spray painted wheel over spray all over the outside of the wheel, no Dan won't answer phone and return calls have contacted big o tire corporate and just get the run around there and the complaint line, so wouldn't do business with them they won't repair the damages they do to your car. Bought 4 brand new tires in February, and less than 6 months/10k miles my back tires are showing WIRES. They claim that it's got nothing to do with the tires, and is because my car got knocked out of alignment between now and then (blamed East TN roads). They offered PRO-RATE (discount) on different tires , but he'll have to check with his "manager-in-training." Y'all, I'm not typically a "Karen," but this is crap. I paid $900 for new tires and brakes, and I can't safely drive my car. He "went over the head of the MIT" to the GM, who WASN'T there, and then came back to inform me that the GM agreed with him, and that was all they were willing to do. A DISCOUNT. I told him that was unacceptable, and that I wasn't leaving until it was made right, to which he responded "Well, that's fine. We close at 6." I sat there for a total of 5 hours, without so much as an acknowledgement from anyone else. Never was given a chance to speak to a manager, or even a different associate. They LITERALLY pretended I wasn't there. I ended up having no choice but to leave to pick up my son, in a STILL UNSAFE vehicle. This is my only vehicle, and I can't afford to pay for ANOTHER new set of tires after paying for a brand new set less than 6 months ago. Even if 8 could, a respectable company would have made SOME effort to make it right. I was left sitting for hours, treated as if my/my family's safety didn't matter, and that I was not important. I am appalled at the way I was treated, and the way they conducted their business. I will be elevating this to the corporate level and filing a complaint with the local BBB. It goes without saying that I will not be conducting business with them in the future, although they make it clear that my business doesn't matter to them. I've never been treated this way by a business, and can't imagine ever treating any person this way. My wife made an appointment with them on a Saturday to have tires installed the next day, which they confirmed via email. We drove almost an hour Sunday morning for the appointment, and they not only didn't have the tires, but the man working the counter couldn't find the appointment. Although I showed him the confirmation we received, he said there was nothing he could do as their warehouse was closed on Sundays. He wasn't even apologetic but kept telling us he was the only guy working the counter that day. We left, called Pep Boys, and had our new tires installed in about an hour. Unless you want to waste your time, make sure they have your tires and appointment multiple times or just go somewhere else and save yourself the trouble. read more

I am a former employee and I will say without a doubt this is the wrong place to get your car repair done. The technicians are some of the best in the business but the management thinks otherwise. They pick and choose what they tell you needs done. And they do not adhere to the safety standards for the state when tire repairs or replacements need done. Again the technicians are amazing and knowledgeable people, but they are treated like garbage by Ron and Michael (regional manager/general manager) I for one had my intelligence questioned daily. They also told us to use the incorrect oil in customer vehicles just so they didn't have to constantly order more special oil. Do not go here if you value your vehicle and your wallet. Picked up a nail this week which caused a slow leak. With a 500 mile trip ahead of me this repair is important. New Year's weekend makes this a chore in this area as many places closed through the weekend due to the holiday. Not Big O. They were able to get me right in without a wait and take care of my issue. Called and was told my oil change, alignment and tire rotation would take about 45 minutes. Upon arrival that was confirmed. While waiting there one hour in I asked about the wait. Was told that someone else had an emergency (for a car alignment???) and took my spot. So I asked how much longer. They said about 30 minutes before they could start. I didn't really believe that, and had to leave given that it was going to turn into two hours. Also I asked about the type of oil at check in for my 2018 Toyota Corolla. The guy didn't know, and said conventional would be fine. Then he later notified me they would have to go synthetic. I was told they would move me up if I came in later. I have gotten my oil changed here without incident on multiple occasions. Yesterday, I took my vehicle in because I could hear rubbing/grinding upon applying my brakes - no question whatsoever about this. The technician drove it, said he could not hear/feel anything, told me they were fine. Did not disassemble to actually look. I'm no mechanic, but I'm an intelligent, educated woman, and I was CERTAIN that there was something wrong with my brakes. I drive 30 miles one way to work, so it's important to have a well maintained vehicle. So, I took it somewhere else today. Not only do the pads need replacing, but it was in to the rotors. What I believe is that either he didn't take me seriously because I was female, OR, he didn't want to fool with it on Sunday afternoon (shouldn't be open if you don't want to work!) or BOTH. Nonetheless, they have lost any future business from me; I will no longer take my vehicle here for oil changes - or anything else for that matter! And I'll tell everyone I know!! read more

If I could give this location of my in this 5 I would do so happily Karen I went there for the 1st time the groupon voucher. The will change was supposed to cool completely paid for by the voucher when they finish the work on my car they told me that it looked like my front brakes could use replacing when I said no not now they said OK you don't probly have to do it until December or January. Then as I got to get my keys they informed me that I owed an extra $14 to pay for the oil filter and the labor and the, get this shop towels! In mind tire life experience this ban. I've gone to places where they lied about work needing to be done but never charges like this period I seriously do not recommend ever going to this location read more
