BUDGET INN, ALBANY, OREGON is a filthy, unsanitary, broken-down hovel of a "hotel". I am quoting it's (EXPEDIA'S AND BUDGET INN'S) blatantly false advertising directly from the EXPEDIA website. (WARNING: DO NOT USE EXPEDIA TRAVEL SITE for accurate/honest info re traveling). There is no coffee shop/cafe; no tennis court or 24 hour fitness center; nothing is Art Deco. There are no BBQ grills or garden; deep soaking tubs, DVD players or free amenities. The rooms wreaked of ingrained cigarette smell and ?? The "amenities" were $1.00 a piece and were a hodge-podge of worn-out shampoos/soaps from other hotels. I am posting pictures of the reality of this filth-infested horror to substantiate this review. We did not stay nor did EXPEDIAr the hotel return our money. Follow-up--After hours on the phone on hold and after repeated attempts to send my request for refund to the website address the EXPEDIA operator(s) provided that was unable to accept emails as their box "was full", long story, short, EXPEDIA did give us a coupon to cover the costs of this hotel debacle to be used for a future adventure planned through them. Bottom sheet had several giant holes and tears, top sheet was actually a bottom sheet, permanent smoke smell made me wanna puke 0 of 5 - grounds --- looked like a "by the hour" establishment, reservation and check in paperwork said king, room had one double (although at one time had 2 doubles - see pic... 0 of 5 - Manager --- admitted when we asked for our money back that the woman before us "stayed about a week and said the room was clean"..... hmmm he didn't check, and instead took her word that she cleaned it?!? 0 of 5 - other patrons --- while waiting nearly 30 minutes trying to get money back, two others refused the quality of their rooms, and saw list on counter of a stack of room cancellations, only hotel in area that wasn't packed to capacity and sold out... only 2 cars in lot when i went by to get to my replacement hotel next property over which had cars double parked to fit them all. read more

The only reason I stayed here was because it was a Saturday night during summer and I had no other options after traveling for many hours. This place is BEYOND DISGUSTING. First room I checked into had crumbs and other crap on all surfaces and smelled disgusting. Second one no difference, except it smelled not just of chemicals and curry, but smoke as well. Had to plug in the barely functioning fridge, TV and AC unit. Just found a video about bedbugs as well (haven't seen any yet, but there is a stack of 8 mattresses next to the dumpster). The towels in the bathroom were filthy and I was afraid to take a shower. Also afraid to touch anything so used kleenex to do so. OMG IT'S SO GROSS!!! It seems no cleaning is done. read more

I am not kidding you guys. All of these bad reviews are 100% true. This owner HATES making money clearly. I have come there numerous times. He threw me attitude every single time. This last time asked him if I could stay for the night and he said $95 (seems a bit high for the area and right next door is way less at Motel 6) then when I said ok, I would like to check out the next night, instead of saying "Okay, then I will have to charge you for 2 nights then," he got SUPER-PISSED and pushed my ID back to me and put his paperwork away and said: "Well, forget it. Get out of here." I said: "It seems like you don't want to make money. You did this same exact thing the last few times I came here. What is your problem?" THIS owner and motel are exactly why Airbnb and its competitors are MASSIVE COMPANIES. This dude treats his own customers like trash, people that are literally pulling out hundreds of dollars to pay him. My suggestion is to go to the Motel6 next door or do Airbnb or their competitors. One of the other reviewers is right: "Shut this place down." I even told him that. And I run a business so I know what it's like to have tough customers. I think he doesn't like you if you're friendly. He doesn't even warm up if you're trying to be kind or funny. This might be the weirdest dude I've ever met and check my reviews. All true: rudest owner ever, nasty stinch in the air, surplus furniture (70s), extra charge for child, dirty sheets, sink, bathtub, towels, walls. I tried calling other hotels nearby and no availability. I had no choice. I literally cried. Went to take pix of owner for our yelp review, he got mad, he came out & took pix of our license plate & proceeded to jump on the back of our car and my husband drove away hoping he'd jump off--no! He was yelling" I'm being kidnapped" I swear to God, this happened. My kids were so scared. We finally pulled over and he jumped off, hitting our back window & we were able to drive away. My mother and I came to stay at Budget Inn the people were very polite but I was told by friend that lives in Albany Oregon not to stay there because they have bed bugs. So I stopped my mother at checkout upon entering and ran to go check the bed. After peeling back four layers of mattress protectors over a TempurPedic mattress soiled with food debris and whatever else, we did find a bedbug I brought it in a tissue showed it to the owner and then we went to the Motel 6 next door I understand they are very hard to get rid of but you cannot cover them up with for mattress protectors. Also the bedroom smell very musty and it was not a smoking room. Will never go there again read more

Room 213 has bedbugs. We typed into YouTube budget inn Albany or bedbugs and there are videos showing it as well. He had all of his headboards outside indicating he knows about the infestation but isn't hiring a exterminator. Also he accused us of bringing in the bugs. But then openly admitted to having them and that he's installed bug deterring mechanisms on the bed. Well it didn't stop our bugs from getting onto the mattress. Don't stay here as they can infest your clothing and go home with you. read more

I just saw the owner at budget inn sweeping the outside of one of the motel rooms. I will say it's going to take a lot more than just sweeping the porch to get that motel cleaned up. I would seriously consider having that motel torn down. It's old and the owners are not willing to take special care and clean up that motel. It's a waste of effort read more

Can I give a negative rating - because I would really like to. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STAY HERE! The first room we checked into was filthy and stinky and hot. There was also toilet paper in the toilet so my husband flushed it and water started spewing out of the back of the tank. We quickly got our things and ran down to the office to tell the guy the problem so he could fix it and to get another room. We got another room, checked the toilet and that was ok. Room looked a little cleaner than the first one so we said thank you and went to grab a bite to eat. We came back and started to get ready for bed. After pulling the covers back I notice there are black things all over in the bed. I thought they were fuzzies from the comforter. I get my phone flashlight to discover they are bedbug carcasses.. :-O Also pubic hairs and a huge yellow stain which I wasn't quite sure what it was. We both packed up our stuff and headed to the office for a refund and to get the heck outta there. This guy running the desk that night was the rudest person I have ever met. Who also had not never heard the phrase "Customer is always right" He said that we were lying about the dirty bed and that I needed to show him the bugs and hair in the bed. I said C'mon I'll show you. After taking him to the room and him continuing to fight with my husband he said that he wasn't going to refund us any money because we had left the AC and the lights on in the first room. We were just trying to get to the office quickly so he could go back up and figure out what to do with the toilet water going everywhere!!! Sept 6th 2019 while on a road trip in OR my son's car broke down and needed a place to stay while his car was being repaired. I phoned Expedia and booked a same day reservation Budget Inn Albany OR. I called in the reservation to Expedia because I wanted to make sure that I could make the reservation under my son's name and pay with my credit card (I was assured this was possible). When my son showed up at the Budget Inn hotel he was told that the hotel's power was out all day and they could not take his reservation. They could only take cash and they would not honor the internet rate published on Expedia of $50/nigh and that the per night rate was $89 (for a hotel without power). That evening I called Expedia to explain that the hotel would not honor the reservation and I wanted to cancel the reservation without penalty. After some back and forth between Expedia and the Budget Inn Albany today 9/12 I was told that the Budget Inn would NOT cancel without cancellation fees. Avoid being scammed and ripped off.
