Stayed here out of desperation for move in week at Oregon State. For about three hundred clams, we got: dingy dinged walls all over the hotel, and a room with damp carpet and a strong smell that was strangely familiar smell - cedar and urine - in other words smelled like a poorly run pet store. The pull-out couch... everyone has a story of a terrible night on a bad pull out, now I have one. I get that it's a normally cheaper hotel, now it's clear why. On the positive, staff was friendly, there's a hot tub and pool (cloudy), and showers have good water pressure. read more

Rating: Triple Rat Fart If Dante had ever wandered into the Quality Inn in Albany, Oregon, he would have added a new circle to Inferno called "The Motel Stay." The bathroom came with its own ecosystem of black mold, the carpets were so foul they turned socks into chemical weapons, and the sheets looked like they'd been borrowed from a crime scene. As a bonus, the local wildlife included stink bugs who seemed far more comfortable than the paying guests. My daughter left with a rash that's still hanging on like an unwanted souvenir, proving the carpets weren't just ugly -- they were actively hostile. Morning entertainment was even more unsettling: suspicious comings and goings that looked alarmingly like sex trafficking auditions, complete with handlers and rotating men. And if that wasn't enough, the motel sits across from a homeless encampment where open drug use was on display, making "family friendly" the last phrase you'd ever use here. Whatever you do, DO NOT get room 121! I want it available for me anytime I go to Albany! We absolutely loved this hotel. The beds were great, pillows were great. Bridgette and Sara are just PHENOMENAL! Best staff at any hotel. They need a raise. Breakfast was good. They had chocolate waffles never seen that before! Pool and hot tub! The ONLY negative was the sketchy broken down truck out on the street. Not the hotels fault. Great location w food, gas station and win co within walking distance. read more

I only give this place one star. I didn't feel safe or comfortable. The hotel is right on the freeway and the noise from passing cars is super loud. I did feel secure bc the front door to my room had a one inch gap at the bottom and 3/4th inch gap on the locking side, if someone threw their weight into the door I am certain the door would have popped open. They tried to do an upgrade on the fixtures but didn't paint around the gap the old fixtures left. Stepping into the shower was scary, bottom sinks a Little bit. And the water pressure is low. The outside of the building is not well maintained either, looks like an old Nate's motel from the 70's Definitely not worth the money nor the safety. read more

This is the worst hotel you could imagine. The mold stink was unbearable as soon as we entered the room we coughed. I turned the heat way up to counter the damp smell. The curtains are dirty, walls and doors were chipped and in bad need of paint. The room is in need of dire repair. We could hear the highway noise outside our closed window. The road noise kept us up most of the night. I've stayed at hotels close to the highway before but the closed windows usually keep the room quiet but not here. They scammed us for a $100. deposit ... over and above our regular fee. Then they signed us up for the Quality Privilege Scam - Never had that before and I'm working to get my deposit back. The staff when I 1st checked in on the afternoon of 11/27/24 was very friendly and helpful. Straight down hill from there. Housekeeping woke me up twice on 11/28 and then failed to clean the room/replace towels. Ok Thanksgiving, maybe they left early. Next day got fresh towels, but bathroom wasn't cleaned and sheets weren't changed (remember no housekeeping the day before). 1am Saturday (11/30) I got a call my father passed away, obviously I checked out after breakfast to return home, though I had booked through the next day. When I checked out I asked to be refunded for the upcoming night explaining my father has passed and I needed to cut my visit short (my card had already been charged for the full booking). Clerk said "nothing I can do about a refund" and exhibited absolutely no sympathy/empathy for the fact my father died 6 hours before. I'd understand if he'd said let me get the manager or offered some alternative. But not even condolences were offered. I recommend avoiding this and all other Choice Hotels, I know I will be. read more

If I could give 2 1/2 stars that's what I would give it because it's sufficiently average for a motel along the I-5 corridor. The price was 10-15% less than similar properties nearby and that was worth it to us this on this trip. Having stayed at similar hotels nearby as well as Salem for sports tournaments I'd say this is worth the price. The pillows and beds aren't quite as comfortable but the parking is easy, pool is open for kids, staff is friendly and coffee in the lobby is decent. We didn't eat the breakfast. The main reason we'll try to avoid this hotel in the future is because of the busy traffic noise all night outside the first floor window. Even with a sound machine it woke us up off and on all night. Maybe the other side of the hotel is quieter but I don't want to take a chance. read more

First of all it took forever to check in. I have never had check in take longer than 10 minutes here. Today was an all time record of 26 minutes. The lady at the front desk was on her cell phone for 10 of those minutes while I patiently waited to be helped. The signage is also upsetting as the cdc guidelines have changed. I won't be back to any choice hotels for a while. Be prepared to hangout in a stuffy waiting area with slow customer service if you decide to stay here. read more

So we have stayed here 3 times so far, and we're staying again tonight for the 4th trip. We live in town and this is becoming our "sanity escape" from the kids so we can have a quiet intimate night followed by a good nights sleep. Every.Single.Time we have stayed here everything has been great. But last time was above and beyond what I expect from any business. When we checked out at O'Dark Early (5am?) we were carrying all our crap to the car and apparently my wallet fell out along the way. I didn't realize it right away and a couple hours later I noticed it was missing and the ONLY place it could have been was between the Hotel and the House. I scoured my car, my house, and then called the hotel. They didn't know where it was, so I drove over and searched the parking lot where I was parked in case it fell out there. (The maintenance guy did that too, before I even got there) They dispatched someone to go look for it in the room, to no avail. However, a couple hours later a housekeeper found the wallet and turned it into the front desk who proceeded to call me. It was in a sealed bag when I got there and every single penny was still in the wallet (well over $100 in cash) I have ZERO interest in staying at ANY hotel locally except Quality Inn Keizer for a variety of reasons, but the way this last trip went down was the lock of loyalty from me. The suites are nice, the beds are comfy, the people are friendly, they don't gouge you on deposits ($12.50 hold gone within 48 hours), the rooms were clean, and if you book through Hotels.com you get your 10th night free. Really this has been pleasant on every single level. You won't regret it. read more

No, no and no... After entering my room, I noticed there was a lot of outside noise due to the window of my room facing a freeway on-ramp and a traffic light. I went downstairs to ask Sarah if I could switch rooms, she claimed that there weren't any other rooms on the third floor. There weren't many cars in the parking lot, so I called early the following morning and was able to confirm with another employee that there were in fact rooms available on the third floor. Why Sarah would have told me otherwise shows there's either a lack of training or honesty at this location. I barely got any sleep due to loud engine revving throughout the night and my request for a new room seems like a very simple request to accommodate when it's obvious there were other rooms available. I attempted to make a complaint with Shawna, the assistant manager at this location, and she immediately asked if I was 'looking for a discount' before I even told her what my complaint was, which I found to be somewhat odd and accusatory.  This location has serious issues with professionalism and service. It's clear that management here needs additional oversight. The noise level throughout the night is absolutely absurd here depending on your room and to make matters worse, my pillow smelled like dog. I would recommend taking your money elsewhere if you actually want a restful night's sleep and comfortable accomodations. read more

Well they put alot of money into this place literally replacing everything in the rooms only problem was I went to file a complaint and there is see lsnt a way to do this because it goes straight into finding you the best price and blocks you out ! The guy at the counter was bothered by me checking in. He was busy talking to the woman behind me. The door wouldn't open until I hit it with my shoulder. A smaller person wouldn't get in. The heater was so loud it scared me awake everytime it kicked on. But it was cold so I had to leave it on. The bath fan was just as loud. Left early in the morning after little sleep. Then I noticed a additional $50 the charged me. When I called she said it was a deposit and I'd get it back after they hold it for a week. WTF. Could have let me know at check in. It's a scam! I have stayed in this establishment several times over the past year. We are a rewards member, but this "free" room was not worth it. I added an earlier night to an existing reservation, and their "system" could not handle it. They removed the frame from the door 30 minutes after check-out time because the fold-over lock was locked. The only way the fold-over lock could be engaged is if I am in here, or if I had locked it and climbed out the third-floor window. Rather than checking the "system" before breaking into my room, they took the frame off the door. Perhaps they assumed I was dead, 30 minutes after check-out time. Am I the only person in the history of the world whose plans changed and added an earlier night to an existing reservation? I think not. Not ever staying here again. I will camp out by the highway before staying here EVER again. After driving through the snowy Cascades mountains to avoid even worse weather today, then to have the door frame removed 30 minutes after check-out time, I am unapologetically pissed. The "manager" looks like she's 16 years old, and had no relief to offer me. Never again. read more

We came here from the super 8 across the way in hopes that it would be worlds better and it most definitely was not. Beds and pillows comfortable, decent furniture, decent TV and basic cable. Didn't hear other guests noise. On a busy highway but not a big deal. LOTS of room for improvement. Hot water went out and I understand that could happen anywhere. They said we would be comped but I don't think that happened. Our room and many of our neighbors had issues opening and closing their room doors, to the point to where it has to be kicked open and slammed shut. It was so bad most people just left their doors propped open at all times because it became a huge hassle. In addition, our key card reader was very temperamental as well, had to make a ton of trips to the front desk to be let back in. They kept saying they "would send maintenance to fix or replace the doors and locks" as they're super outdated and needing a refresh, but not sure if that happened either. Carpet in our room was sticky or greasy and turned our feet and socks black, could really use a cleaning. The breakfast both mornings was not looking very appetizing or fresh. It seriously looks like pre made heated and put in the fridge and reheated several times, which is why nobody ever takes any. Specifically, the hash browns (soggy, not fresh, possibly reheated multiple times) and eggs (watery), I reluctantly tried them, not good at all. If you eat there, stick to the stuff that is factory sealed, store bought, or else the fruit. Also asked the front desk if the pool was open since there was a closed for maintenance sign and they said it was fine, come to find out the pool and hot tub were smelling gross and nobody (including other guests) wanted to swim. This property is in major need of some serious rehab. read more

Very disappointed with how the lady at the front desk handled my family this afternoon. I believe they said she was the manager too. However they had a couple questions regarding the reservation they made, cause it seemed they got some wrong information. She really only paid for the hotel cause the lady who made the reservation said the pool was available, understanding that Covid is still going on. But the pool was not open when she called earlier this morning. however my mother in law let the lady at the desk know that she was a little disappointed in the situation and she had no idea who made the reservation she was just letting her know that some people don't have the correct information and it would be nice if for the future if everyone was aware of the correct information. No big deal.. but this "manager" got furious saying that," she didn't make the reservation so she basically doesn't care and she isn't going to deal with them and asked them to LEAVE!! What the hell?? For asking a question and suggesting something ?? So they did leave with no problem because it not worth it we will just go somewhere else. So they go outside and start trying to figure out where to go now and this Lady at the desk CALLS THE COPS!!! Cause they were sitting on the bench outside!!! Oh and the best part is my little sister was unfortunately there for all of it and she's only 12 and it really upset her and that's the main reason I'm so furious I guess but still just not good management and something needs and should be done about whoever this lady is. I was doing my routine taking off the top cover and blanket (you know to make sure it's clean?) and I swear on my grandmothers grave they didn't change this for a WHILE! There were blood stains and fecal matter all over the blanket. I was so appalled I checked the couch pull out bed and there were a plethora of food in the couch as well. I simply left. A semi minor issue as the door lock was literally broke off. Not sure how since it is a heavy metal. I feel it could have been cleaner especially since it was during COVID. I wiped things down myself. We forgot and left a 3/4 full bottle of expensive bourbon in the refrigerator and after 3 calls and no return calls, I gave up on trying to find out where it was. My husband and I are both disabled with limited mobility. My husband uses a wheelchair, but I do not (yet). We booked a room at the Quality Inn in Albany, OR for April 20, 2018 and requested a handicapped accessible room. I booked the room online via Hotels.com, then called the hotel to confirm the availability and request that we have a room that did not require a great deal of walking from it to the parking lot. One of the reasons we booked this room was because they advertised a pool and hot tub, which we both anticipated needing after a busy day at an event. When we checked in, we were told the pool area was closed down for remodeling. This was not mentioned anywhere in their hotel listings online. I requested my money back so I could go to another hotel that did have a pool/hot tub but was told they could not do that because we did not give 48 hours notice. Had I known 48 hours earlier about the construction, I certainly would have cancelled. I was told by the desk clerk (who I later learned was the manager) that no refund was possible. Because we are not made of money, we had no choice but to stay. I again reiterated to the manager that we needed a handicapped accessible room close to the main entrance or to an entrance on the level with the parking lot, as I have great difficulty climbing stairs and hills, and even walking more than 50 feet or so. We were checking in at about 2 pm and the rooms were still all being cleaned. When we did get our room key, we discovered that our room was halfway down the length of the hotel and the closest parking spot was down 7 nor 8 steps and then uphill to the parking area. When I complained I was told that was the only room they had. Apparently the accessible room had been rented--but NOT to people with disabilities. The entire stay was a painful exercise in survival. There was rarely anyone at the front desk to help with anything. There was nobody to help with bags or luggage, and I was forced to walk back and forth many times to get any kind of assistance for anything. I kept telling them I was disabled and really could not do this kind of walking without pain, but nobody seemed to care--at least nobody with the authority to do something about it. When we checked out, I again requested a partial refund and was told that was not possible because we booked via Hotels.com. When I got home, I called Hotels.com and they said the refund had to come from the hotel itself! They attempted to call the hotel on my behalf, but they received no answer. I then called Choice Hotels, the parent company of Quality Inn and they assured me that they could fix the problem. They, too, had trouble getting in touch with the hotel manager. I was told to wait 72 hours and a reply had to come by then. Several days later I called back to Choice Hotels and they now said that they could not help. It is not acceptable that a handicapped senior couple should be treated like this without some kind of compensation for the pain and inconvenience. My husband's wheelchair barely fit through the door to the hotel room and did NOT fit into the bathroom. The customer service was terrible in the daytime. The night crew were as helpful as they could be, but were unable to do anything to right what was wrong. Best thing I can say about the place is that it was clean, but that was of very little help to us. Apparently, the "new" manager quit without notice shortly after this. I have had no satisfaction. We stayed 3 nights, we rebooked for a 4th night. We accidentally put the wrong name on the reservation. When we asked the front desk lady to fix it, she was difficult and told me it was a more complicated process than I thought it was. I told her to stop being difficult and do her job and then we wouldn't have to talk. She told me she doesn't have to take that kind of treatment, instead she told me I should probably just try to cancel and rebook. Simply an awful experience, would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Quite an unethical practice of charging over double the online rates, when clearly the room would have stood empty for the night. We arrived at 3:00am and were given a room that was in poor condition with the only light left on was a blinking light over the sink, which we could not use and had to turn off. We had no light over the sink and had to get ready for bed and the next morning with no light. The previous guest obviously left this as the only light on to fix, and that never happened. Instead, they pushed this room off to us, who they assumed would take anything at 3am, and charge us double. When we brought this up to the manager, all we were given was attitude and that this is what we agreed to when we arrived. In fact, it was not and when I brought this up to the person working the front desk during the evening to honor the online price, he said I would need to speak with the manager when she arrived. Clearly unhelpful. Simply shameful and unethical price gouging without so much as an apology. In addition, we stayed here because it was listed as pet-friendly and paid an additional fee for this. Clearly it is not. When attempted to get breakfast with our dog. He was nowhere near the food and was sitting with us near the door. We were asked to leave. Since the food could not be taken out of the breakfast area, our only option would be to leave the dog unattended in our room or to leave him in the car. Stay clear of this place. Terribly rude customer service and far more interested in extracting as much money from you as possible rather than doing the right thing and keeping a customer happy. After posting this review on Google, their miserable manager Jannine, lied and created a story about our dog biting 3 customers. A complete joke since she did not even mention that to us when we were there (because it never happened) and refuses to provide us the surveillance video to back up her lie. This is the type of low-life you're dealing with at this one. Do yourself a favor and stay very far away, unless you want a hotel manager to smear your name to save her job. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights. I'll start with the positives. --The staff were marvelous. Austin was very polite and helpful. He was eager to provide anything we needed or asked for. --The suite we had was okay. Plenty of room. The kitchenette had a refrigerator that was large and clean, the stovetop was clean. There were mixing bowls, but we could not find pots or pans, plates or silverware. --The room was clean, vacuumed, and dusted. --The room was right next door to the back door, making it easy to take our dog out for her bathroom needs. They provide clean-up bags (unfortunately, not everyone uses them) and a garbage can to put the waste in. --The breakfast buffet was very nice. Great options for food, all was tasty. Room was clean and tended by staff to keep it that way. Now for the negative. --The room phone had no dial tone and when I called the front desk (from my cell phone through the office number), I was told "oh, we forgot to mention that". They indicated that they have been waiting for the phone company to come fix the line (so they knew it was out). --The door to the room doesn't shut without slamming it. When we left for the day, the door was shut behind us. When we returned that evening, the door was wedged open using the cross-beam lock. It had been left "open" by the maid service (we assume) all day. --Maid service cleaned and swapped out towels (was surprised by this as signage said that the towels would be used for 3 days before swapping), but there was no replacement for the shampoo, conditioner and soap, necessitating a walk all the way to the other end of the hotel (where the office was) to get replacements. --The couch and side chair were clean but not very comfortable. --The TV remote didn't work, so my husband reprogrammed it, and then it was fine. --The bathroom was very small, had to skirt around the toilet to easily close the door. Two small towels were provided (should be larger or more of them). The provided shampoo and conditioner was barely enough for one use. --The king size bed was very comfortable; however, only 4 12"x12" pillows were provided which definitely was ridiculous. --The TV in this room also was not easy to work, everytime you shut it off, it goes back to TV mode, and you have to know how to reset it to "cable" to get it off snow. --The windows are dirty (probably from a sprinkler system) and the screens look ancient. --Overall, the room was quaint, but looked aged, though upgraded. This place is terrible! I left my brand new very expensive hair dryer behind that I just purchased (the one in the room didn't work) for $200. I called the day of to see if they found anything the guy at the front desk said no and they'd call me back after they looked again. I never got a call back. Called the next day and said he checked the whole hotel along with other staff and no one found anything. I called 3 days in a row and nothing. I asked if he thought the house keepers would take it he said "I don't think any of our staff would do that" so they must not have sort of policy on the staff. Also not pleased at all with the drug dealers in the room right next to us up at all hours of the night slamming doors and leaving the child in the room for 5+ hours. Not pleased with this "quality" motel at all. We will not be staying there EVER again. I'm out of a hair dryer and very annoyed with the professionalism of the front desk guy Larry. All thieves! It looks like the lobby & rooms were just re done! Beautiful place, and the guy we checked in with was super friendly and helpful (I wish I could remember his name.) We went in without a reservation but they were happy to accommodate for us. We swam in their pool which was very clean, and he even let us swim another 10-15 minutes since we showed up so late and had been on the road. The room was super clean, had ac/heat that we could control ourselves. We didn't make it to breakfast but they did offer complimentary with our stay! Will for sure stay here again read more
