BEWARE!!! The old hag at the front desk is one of the most despicable human beings I have ever encountered in my life. She made up extra rules on the spot for my gf, like only booking one night at a time and the room needing to be inspected each day as if my girlfriend was some kind of junkie. Then when my gf declined to stay because of the way she was treated she threw my gfs ID at her. The way she was treated was completely unacceptable and wrong. This place was pleasantly l, AMAZING! Idk why the rating on Yelp look so different on Google but these reviews and pictures don't do it justice. This was by far the best Motel experience I've ever had. I think the room upstairs was brand new? Super clean, never felt so comfortable sleeping in a motel bed before. Quiet, well lit outside! This Motel 6 location was not only the most expensive by far, but also the worst. Even though I have relatives in Albany, the chances I will ever return here are nonexistent. I'm surprised that the Motel 6 corporation would even allow this location to exist as it is. First, I should have realized that something was wrong here when I couldn't get a room outfitted for someone with disabilities. Apparently they do not have any such rooms. When I paid, I should have taken a close look at what I was paying, because what was quoted to me over the telephone as $131 became a $161 charge. Even if you add Transient Occupancy Tax you can't make o The condition of the room was marginal, the toilet did not work correctly, and hopefully other rooms are in better condition up that difference. TOT is 9% in Albany, or about $12, for about $143. That is not close to $161! This might be a case of a "defrauding innkeeper." But the real problem was with the person who seemed to be the owner, or an on-site manager. As I drove up after breakfast, he was immediately at my window, yelling at me. Since he seems to be a poor English speaker, it took a bit to determine what his problem was. It seems he has major problems withj people with disabilities. Since I have a hearing disability my radio is played a bit louder than normal, but there is a gauge on my radio which shows me how loud the stereo is, and my windows were up, so he must have really worked to hear the car radio of that guy who parked in the only space marked for the disabled in the place (me), and he initiated what quickly became a yelling match. When he said he was going to call the police, I said "Go ahead," and he went inside the residence. I waited for the police, but either Albany police are really slow or he realized that calling police on a customer wasn't a very bright idea. I really felt sorry for the nice woman working there who has to put up with this guy on a daily basis Anyway, there is no way I'm going back, I'm going to research other motels for my next visit to Albany. Nor should anybody else go to this location, I've never had anything like this happen to me anywhere else, and if the Motel 6 people have any interest in rtespectability, they will get rid of him. read more

I'm not sure why this place is getting so many negative reviews. It is very clean, and the rooms are nice. I loved it! As far as the comments about the owners watching who comes in and out, I commend them for that. People think they can do anything they want in these motels and are sometimes completely oblivious to the fact that there are other people staying there. When I stay at a motel I want some semblance of peace and quiet. It's not a party barn! So, I give these guys five stars for their standards. That's what I want in a motel! read more

I drove 40 minutes out of my way to get to this Motel 6 and the manager on duty asked for my pin number to my debit card to run the transaction when my card was already on file with Motel 6 through their online reservation service. She knew I had a reservation because I told her. She would not let me in to enter my pin And she became disgusted when I told her I would not give her my pin. Nobody should ever ask you your pin under no circumstances! AND IT WASN'T BECAUSE OF COVID!, I had my mask on and she had hers AND she did not stay 6 feet back from me, because she had no problem putting her face up to the counter window and telling me to go get cash, at night, and come back. Needless to say I did not stay there and reported her to corporate. I do not recommend this motel because of the horrible and potentially fraudulent customer service. read more

We've stayed at this Motel 6 when visiting family in Albany since 1997 and never had a problem until our stay in April 2013. The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude to my dad who is in his 80s when we were checking in. No smile, no attempt to be at all friendly. The first words out of her mouth were "Show me your driver's license. No! Take it out and hand it to me." Really? That's the first thing you say? The motel itself is, well, a Motel 6. I am a motel 6 'fan' and an EXTENSIVE traveler. I LOVE motel 6! However, The Albany Motel 6 is the WORST motel 6 I have ever stayed at. They charge more than the other motel 6's which is surprising. Stopped in for a room, area seemed nice. Spoke to Deborah, she was short and abrupt and seemed hostile. I asked about military discounts since I served more than 8 years. Deborah scoffed and said they didn't offer any, even after I mentioned I saw it on the motel 6 website. She continued being abrupt so as soon as she gave me my keys, I decided I no longer wanted to stay. She made no attempt to provide customer service and when I mentioned she was rude and abrupt. Deborah defended the behavior and I mentioned I would talk to the owner and Deborah raised her voice and she snapped "I don't care"and "get out". I really hate to have to slam on this Motel 6, because it was one of the cleanest ones I have ever been to, but there were a variety of problems I had on my stay. 1. The owners of this Motel 6 live here and the way it is set is in such a way that they can watch everyone come in and out of their buildings. I prefer privacy and it was un-nerving to have someone at the window "watching me" every time I moved my car or leave my room. 2. They are extremely strict on who can be in your room. If you are visiting friends, they are not allowed in your room unless they pay $10.00 even if they aren't staying. Parking is also very strict and you are only allowed to park one way: front only. I don't know why, but I was told this at the desk and signs are everywhere. I was even asked for my license plate number as if I were supposed to have known it by heart. 3. My key card continued to deactivate. I was not given a new card and the lady at the desk acted as if it were my fault for having "my phone too close to it". I had to go to the office twice during my stay to re-activate it. 4. Freeway, parking lot and neighbor noise (typical) and the deadbolt did not lock properly. The only good things about this place is the price, large and clean rooms, expanded cable and the mini fridge and microwave in each room. The clerk at the counter was who I reserved the room with and was very polite and warm..suggesting a few local restaurants nearby. This is a peculiar predicament I find myself in today!I can't speak for the quality of the accommodations at this particular Motel 6, but I can speak for the geniality of its management/staff, and it is nonexistent. Despite the official Motel 6 website clearly stating pets stayed free at this location and that the incidental deposit could be placed on a card, the manager denied both of these things in our interaction. He instead demanded a $60 deposit in cash, and that we not leave our two cats alone in the room at any time; not even just to drive my wife to work in a round twenty minutes. He also demanded that they not go on the window sill whatsoever lest we incur a $20 fine per incident, and even argued that our temp agency hadn't actually discussed any of this with them or even called about a reservation. This was minutes after getting off the phone with our agent so that they could continue a call with someone at the hotel. I don't understand what these people's issue was, or why no hotels in Albany, Oregon accept cats, but we took our housing hunt elsewhere for this assignment. read more

Badge is very uncomfortable and upon their "policy" the do not allow guess not even to come up for 20 seconds to use the restroom. Stayed there in September while on my way to see my cousin. Only place other than my cousin's that I've slept at is home. 4 weeks later I end up with a case of scabies for the 1st time which symptoms can show up 2 to 6 weeks later noone else has them so by process of elimination I had to have picked them up there. We have never been to this hotel before, my wife has work in the area and her company has a partnership with motel 6 to provide a corporate discount hence we booked here. Upon arrival I parked the car while she went to check in upon which she was refused for not having her drivers license with her only her US passport and informed that the manager told staff that even though we were booked for 7 days online that we would need to check out after 2 then check back in if we choose to continue our stay we could then check back in. We were also told we would not be allowed to have any visitors and if they seen visitors they would charge us extra or call the police. Again we had never been to this hotel before and were given this information at check in. Someone that I didn't know knocked on our door at almost 8pm, I did not open the door. The next morning I received a threatening phone call from the manager stating they came to our room the previous night (they did not identify themself) and if I refused to open the door for him again that he would call the police on us. We ended our stay after one night due to not feeling safe and were informed it was at the same managers discretion if we got any form of reimbursement from the staff and from corporate motel 6. My daughter with asthema was put in a smoking room and when she complained to guest realtotons he didn't offer to change her room but told her that calling guest relations was a waste of his time to have to answer to corporate and if she didn't like it to leave . This made the rest of our stay more hostile environment. We have traveled exclusively with our live stock and with our commercial Trucking Company and with the taste that this Motel 6 left we will never stay in the motel 6 and will be sure to pass the word that Motel 6 franchises are allowed to set their policy's to what suits them and don't follow the standards set forth by motel 6.. IF your a female traveling with children I would be very aware of this hotel and read ALL the negative reviews. The night desk clerk was extremely rude, over charged us and was completely unprofessional. Didnt even bother to put his teeth in. Was picking his nose while handling my cards. I will never go there again. We were told that we would be expected to be out by 11 Am. We were checking in at 2 AM. He told us that we had 9 hours to sleep and that was plenty. We were also told to go find somewhere else to stay if we didnt like the price. His price did not reflect the advertised price. I was polite and kind. He was out of line. He repeated over and over that we are to make sure we dont smoke in the room. I dont smoke. I had reserved for March 28 & 29, 2014. I called to cancel the 28th but was told that wasn't possible. I couldn't just reserve a room for 1 night. I was also told to stop being angry. I wasn't angry, I was surprised by what I was told with the first phone call. What hotel/motel has this kind of rule? I have sent a complaint to the corporate offices as I frequently use Motel 6 whenever I am out of town at an AKC event. The owner claimed if she caught my cats in the room even if I went close by to the store, when I was not in the room she would call animal control and the police. I asked her if this was her policy or motel six corporate policy and she would not answer me and ignored me. She showed me the rules from motel six and they clearly state if animals are left unattended in the room, the policy is only to not clean the room, not call the police and animal control. It is rare for me to write a negative review but I am so upset with this Motel 6 in Albany, Oregon that I'm taking the time. My spouse is a 100% disabled veteran so we had a handicapped room with a handicapped parking space. We came back to our room around 8:30pm in the midst of a downpour to find a non-handicapped-identified vehicle parked in our space. We were annoyed but tried to park as close as possible. However, the owner came out and asked us to move bc he wanted to keep those spaces available for people checking in. We explained about the vehicle in our handicapped space and requested that he ask them to move it. He said it wasn't his place to ask them to move and said we should call the police. When I later confronted him about it he said it wasn't his place to ask someone to move from a handicapped space and besides how could we be handicapped and drive a big pickup. At that point I told him, while we'd stayed at his motel numerous times before, we would not do it again. He just shrugged and said there many more people out there who would. read more

Do not stay here. For the same price you can go to a motel across the street and they will let you shower. One good point, reserving a room was easy and they honored the promise that they would not charge until I checked in. First Bad Experience: I reserved a non smoking room and got a smoking room instead. I decided not to complain and just dealt with the gross smell. Second Bad Experience: I showered before bed. When I left for the day I put the "do not disturb" sign on the door. The maid came in anyway and opened the drapes and took the towels. So there was my laptop exposed to the world and I had nothing to dry off with. I called and told the front desk of the issue. They brought the towels up a few minutes later. I thought that was the end of it, but they kicked my family out the next day. I had it reserved for a week stay. They would not honor that because I wanted to dry off after a shower.
