The location is convenient, but the staff lack customer service. They talk in circles & speak to you like you're an employee who know which computer system accepts cash deposits and which on accepts credit/debit card deposits. They charged me in error & it took me 3 phone calls on 2 different days & the first day I was on hold for 26:38 minutes. I hung up and called back & the person I spoke to immediately answered the phone & put me on hold. Christina an employee there is confused and lacks training & the lack to provide good customer service. Their manager Raul who I was promised would call me back, did not. Finally I spoke to an Asst. Manager Teresa who told me I needed to call the 800 number. There I spoke to an agent named Sergio who was amazing & gave me a refund. Everyone there was very nice and very helpful, but I have to give a one star because I was double charged for a day and could not get refunded. Everyone was nice except for the guy who would not refund me. He said I needed the invoice, but I didn't keep it because I didn't think I would need it. They use scare tactics to sell you insurance. They stated that even with car insurance that covers rentals and even if it's not our fault it would take 30 days to repair any damage and we would have to pay daily rental fees for a month. Very disappointed when we rented a Suburban for our vacation, prepaid for the rental, confirmed our rental the day before, waited in line more than an hour to be told they didn't have the car we had rented and we could wait an additional 2.5 hours for the car we wanted. They offered to upgrade us, of course for an additional cost, and then gave us a car that was too small forcing us to leave behind much of the items we needed for our vacation. The car was too small and made our trip a disappointing one. Additionally the "upgrade" they gave us was not clean which was pretty frightening during a pandemic, or filled with gas and yet they told us to bring it back with a full tank. After departing we tried to make arrangements with them to exchange the car with a Budget in Salt Lake City and they told us we weren't allowed to because the Las Vegas Budget is a franchise and we had to bring the car back to them in Las Vegas. All they did was apologize...but an apology does not make up for ruining your vacation. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! read more

I was beyond disappointed dealing with budget. My husband and I moved across state and they gave us an unsafe truck! If you have not driven a diesel truck or are not a trucker you probably do not have any idea what "DEF" fluid would be for. We found out the hard way. The truck will not run without this fluid and it was given to us with a quarter of a tank of it. About half way to our destination lights start flashing and the truck starts making a very concerning noise. I of course get on the phone to call the emergency roadside assistance that they offer. I am on the phone for 30 mins, YES 30 MINUTES!! And still no one even picked up the phone. This is an EMERGENCY line. What is the expectation when you call an emergency roadside phone number??? So I hang up and use google to expedite a fix to this situation. I found out what it was and we got the correct fluid into the truck. We were finally able to return this horrid truck and when we were in the office they gave us a hard time about how much gas we put in it and according to our paper work, we filled it to the same amount that we received the truck at. When we told them about the "DEF" fluid situation they referred us to the customer service phone number. We called customer service and they tell us that we were not given an unsafe vehicle. I asked them what they consider unsafe and they told me that engine issues, transmission issues, tire issue, and so on. Due to the importance of DEF fluid(which the engine will NOT run without) I consider this an engine issue. I work in customer service and have never been so disappointed, angered, and been blatantly dismissed by the customer service from budget. I would not recommend using budget as they do not provide safe moving trucks to their customers. read more

Arrived at 9:00 am and booked an SUV 2 months in advance--paid for it in full 2 months in advance. They only had minivans, and they told us they would give us the minivan, they did not ask if it ok. The attitude the entire time was pathetic, no care for the customer. With 4 adults and 6 pieces of luggage the attendant even make a sarcastic remark " I have a motorcycle". It is now well over an hour and half of us waiting and still resolution. I get the manager and FINALLY he says he can have it delivered to the hotel by 12.00. Well----that doesn't quite work either. The driver goes to the wrong hotel and we are waiting another 45 minutes. We have now wasted 3-1/2 hrs of our vacation on Budget. I will echo many others sentiments about this place. I was lucky that I only had to return a truck rental from California. There was about four of us in line. With only one person working the other counter. What was everyone else doing? Well, thanks to the unprofessionalism displayed and personal conversations they were having, I can tell you exactly what they were doing. The manager was interrupting the ONLY person working the counter asking if he wanted to be hired to move some gravel for him the following weekend. They proceeded to negotiate a price. Another associate was complaining about how she hates her mother. All the while the associate sitting next to her was surfing the internet. (See picture). Check in with Jasmine was garbage. She mumbles & talks under her breath. She didnt check the car out correctly neglecting to add the additional driver causing me to have to wait back in line to get her mistake corrected. While waiting I heard her make several incorrect statements to people including "you dont even belong here you need to be at the airport", which was not true as the "manager" Phyllis confirmed..also she took 2 calls during my 2nd wait in line both of which required a manager take over. I wish the return would have gone better, but no. Apparently "full" to them means BEYOND the full tank line, not on/at it. After a 3block drive to the gas station where I got 1.1 gallons of gas before the pump shut off I returned to Budget. (Seriously they argued over ONE gallon of gas, ONE gallon) Phyllis insisted she didnt have a convo with her worker about on the line being ok or not (a convo my husband witnessed). And had nothing but snarky replies to my complaints including something to the effect of "i hope you enjoy your vacation". I would run farfar away from this location. The people at this branch ALL need to be let go, and re-staffed. I was sent here by a local auto dealership (pre-arranged) to pick up a rental while my car was being repaired. The asst. manager (Kathy) tried to run my card for the deposit, and comes back, and tells me my card doesn't work, and that I need to present a different card. For security reasons I don't carry credit cards. I had to have my spouse drive there and bring it to me!! After much unneccessary ado, I got the car and was on my way. It was neccessary to extend my rental so I called their local number and reached the 1-800 for Budget which was of absolutely NO HELP, because they can't alter, modify, or change an auto dealership rental rate agreement. WHY? Are you not the same company?!! SO, once again, I was forced to drive all the way back to the Budget on Tropicana just to extend the rental! Then, the same assistant manager (Kathy) helped me the first time, got the rental extended, and gave me her phone number directly so as not to have any more trouble. Due to repair delays on my car, I had to again extend my rental for more days. I called Kathy's number directly, NO ANSWER. I left a message on voice mail, NO call back, I texted her, NO call back. Fail.. Fast forward 2 weeks, and lo and behold, I had to return my car to the dealership for the replacement parts, and was dropped off by the dealership to again get a rental vehicle, that was pre-arranged, and approved by the assistant manager. I was shuttled over by the car dealership back to Budget with the agreement form, and it just happened to be the managers day off. Guess what!? NOBODY knows anything about it, and told me they had NO rental car for me. Made some excuses about all the cars being on reserve for other renters. So, I was stranded outside in the heat, on the phone with the car dealerships' service advisor to explain that I am getting the run around. The 2 men behind the counter denied my rental agreement, and pre-arrangement for the held car, but still nothing. Then, the icing on the cake, they then magically find a car for me, tell me I am again required to present that same credit card for damage deposit hold while I have the car. I hand over the SAME credit card that was successful the last time, only to be told that credit card isn't working!!!! Then, the manager I dealt with complained about the customers the car dealership was sending to them to get rentals, when they can't accommodate them. When is it ever appropriate to bad mouth a business that you work in conjunction with, that brings YOU a paying customer??? Okay..just how did I miraculously get charged $209.90 for my last rental run two weeks prior, IF my credit card doesn't work????? Seriously? They have some tethered block, attached to a cord on the side of their computers in which to process, and swipe credit cards. Why?? Why are they not your standard point of purchase credit card processors sitting on the counter like stores do, where you put your credit card in the slot, and enter your pin number yourself, to approve the transaction? ACH transactions. They are using antiquated, obsolete, and horrible processing means. Needless to say, after wasting my time with them for an hour, and getting nowhere, I had to have the car dealership come BACK, pick me up, and shuttle me to another auto dealership to get a rental car from, clear across the valley!!! Not only has this debacle left with with a very bitter taste in my mouth, but the complete and total unwillingness, or refusal to accept any responsibility,or accountability for the abysmal, horrid level of customer service I received from Jai the office manager. They don't even acknowldge people walking in, or any greeting. A bunch of miserable, sour faces, and bad attitudes. NO apology provided for THEIR mistakes, mis-steps, and erroneous business practices. He was dismissive, and rude, and about as useful as a broken lightbulb. I am a calm, and reasonable person, but this was by FAR a surpassed level of incompetency I have never seen before in a customer driven business. I was shocked. In all my years of customer service industries, this would have been grounds for termination if an employee behaved this way, much less the manager!!! You are an embarrassment to the tourist focused business model. It is my hope to get a FULL refund for charges made to me, for others mistakes. A disgraceful representative for the Budget rental agency. You dropped the ball, and are a giant FAIL. What a joke. Steer clear! I filed a formal complaint with their corporate office which I fear will also go ignored, and be fruitless. We shall see. I may also file a duplicate complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I would give it a NEGATIVE 10 if I could. WORST SERVICE, EVER! First, they opened the door late and when they did they were still not ready to help customers. Secondly, they were selectively choosing customers to help, disregarding who came in first. Then the worst of all, I was told that the van that I reserved 2 weeks in advanced was not available. I even received an email confirmation a couple days prior. Are this emails just automatically sent without confirming if the vehicle is really there? NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! I reserved in person (across from the Orleans Hotel). When I went to pick up the car the next day, I stood in line for 40 minutes (Monday mid-morning) and then the rental car was not ready. Rather than wait an unknown length of time, I was offered the option of an extra-cost upgrade. This outlet does not honour rental discounts (AAA & other) unless the reservation is made on-line. Our experience here was mind bending! Our pickup Van Driver was nice, and extremely informative about Vegas. Rosaria (the gal managing the counter) was efficient, good humored, and gave the hook-up when the class of car we wanted wasn't available. The Cat who did the vehicle check was humorous and put real effort into finding dings, grabbed our luggage and put it into the trunk before we had a chance to do it ourselves, and emphasized more than once how much he wanted us to enjoy ourselves... This is the kind of service I expect to see at a 5 Star Resort, not an Airport Hire-a-Car place. read more

Prepaid rental for 3 weeks. Unlimited miles, no mention of other restrictions. When I get there, sign on counter indicates geographical restrictions. Rentals limited to 4 states: Nevada, California, Arizona, and Utah. I had plans to go elsewhere. No empathy or assistance to help me. Indifference was their solution. I had to scramble to come up with another rental for the holiday with prepaid hotel reservations on the line. Hertz, Avis, Enterprise don't have those restrictions. Don't reward Budget for their deceit and inflexibility. They almost ruined my vacation. Those kinds of restrictions need to be made in bold print on page 1 of the contract not buried in small print. If it's important enough to put signs on the counter, than it's important enough to make clear when they took my money on the prepayment. Then I had to argue to get charged $150 for canceling!!! The car we were given was absolutely filthy and we waited a very long time for it. This location offers a "courtesy" shuttle only until 3:30 pm so we decided to cut our rental short versus taking a cab back to our hotel. When we arrived the lady at the front desk said she didn't think they were doing it anymore for the day even though it was only 3:00. She made sure to tell me that it's just a courtesy and they don't have to offer it. Overall it was a pretty bad experience. read more

This was my first time renting with Budget. I have rented cars in the past and can remember the feeling of wishing I owned the car I rented because it was so nice. This can not be said with any car at this rental company. I reserved a mid size car and everything went smoothly until the car attendant pulled up with this raggedy looking Volkswagen. The car was beyond filthy. He offered to " touch it up" real quick but this car needed special attention and time that I did not have. I requested another car. I had to go back in and do the paperwork all over for another car. The staff looked at us like we were being "boogie" or something but no apology was offered from anyone even resembling a manager. The 2nd car was a Nissan Sentra. This car was just as nasty and looked like it had been through some tough times. It had a hub cap busted on one of the tires and tape all over it. I remember asking what it was and the car attendant said tape like that was normal. With my two young children in mind and this 5 hour journey ahead to Arizona and 5 hour journey to return that car was not going. At this point, I'm over it. We have been at this place for about an hour. I had to go back in and request another car. There was just no concern about the fact they had not one acceptable car. The car attendant literally said " you take care of me I'll take care of you " WHAT? I'm confused, do you want money to do your job and find me a clean functional car. Finally, third car was the charm. It wasn't clean but better than the other two. No hair , no crumbs, no dust, no papers, and NO TAPE. We got the last bit of paperwork and ran out of there. I had an issue with my credit card and had to come back the next day to pick up the car. The next day, the reservation (originally form Priceline) was messed up in their system because I didn't pick up the car the day before, and to make it work, the rate was increasing to more than double. The representative working with me was super nice. He wanted to help and find a solution so that the rate I got originally could be honored. As the other employees next to him were making the situation difficult, not helping to find a solution and were downright negative, saying that nothing can be done, my representative never gave up and was not listening to them. That's when the manager showed up. He went straight to the manager and they came back together to help me. They both went above and beyond to fix the situation. It was a true act of kindness from both this representative and the manager (unfortunately I din't retain their names.) They didn't have to do it, but they showed great care for their customer and with their positivity and solution-driven attitude, they ended up taking care of the issue without complications. I am very grateful to have been dealing with them both as opposed to dealing with the other persons working the counter, who were not helpful and a big time fomenters. read more

I Drove My Personal Car to Las Vegas, On the way I lost a cylinder on my Engine and the Engine needed to be replaced. I needed to get back home to Utah. Went to Budget on West Tropicana and Talked to Nellie and what a pleasant experience. She got me a car one way to Utah, reasonably, and I was able to get back home. Nellie is a top Notch Performer. WARNING!!! Don't EVER rent a car through Budget! I rented online in advance after researching prices of different rental companies and went with Budget, paid in advance the full amount. After I dropped the car off on time, clean, with a full tank I was charged an additional $38. The customer service connected me with the managers Rose's cell, she was rude and asked me to email her my paperwork which I did. After that I heard nothing back and was unable to get in touch with her and she doesn't return messages. I disputed with my credit card company and finally got in touch with someone from Budget customer service. Even though I declined insurance online it was somewhere in the paperwork when I picked up the car. No where did I see anything for additional money but now I have to pay it! TERRRRRRIBLE, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. I never leave reviews on yelp, but I'm so frustrated that I'm going to. This place has the absolute worst customer service, I guess I should have known by booking 'Budget' rental. I booked a car for two days ONLINE, and specifically didn't want to add insurance. When I arrived to the location, all the guy at the desk did was ask what the reservation was under and then proceeded to print out the paper work. NEVER ONCE asked me about adding the loss damage waiver fee to my rental agreement. As soon as he printed out the long agreement, he told me to initial in three spots & sign at the bottom. The mistake I made her was trusting that what I booked, was what I was signing for. Learned my lesson because he added the fee adding up to $90.00 extra, without ever asking me. You have to verbally agree to add this on & he never once asked anything. I was surprised to find out my total was way more than expected once I returned the car, he scammed me. I was furious & asked to speak to a manager. They told me there was no manager at the time and gave me a number to call customer service. Once I called customer service, they acted lost & finally told me they put a claim in and I would be contacted in 3-4 days. NEVER GOT CALLED BACK. I gave it a little while longer & called them back today where the lady proceeded to act like there is no way he would ever add it on without my permission & that the employee has never had any complaints about this. After she stated multiple times that she knows this employee & he is great, she told me she doesn't know his name when I asked her. Funny how she claims he's so great, but can't think of his name? I swore he didn't verbally ask me about it and all she said was it must have happened & I don't remember, I 100% know I would not agree to it (I clearly didn't add it online for a reason). After weeks of not being contacted & being mocked for saying they made a mistake & I'm completely in the wrong, I got nowhere & still couldn't get in contact with any manager. All I was offered was a discount on my next rental, like I would ever want to go back there HA. I would give this place negative stars if I could.
