I went to buy a bike and it went well the bike was good. I offered my old bike they said they wouldn't pay anything for it bc it would cost too much to be profitable and that they have a guy they give bikes to that they won't use. I assumed as they implied that's what they'd do with the bike but I went in today and my friend was looking for used bike. They pulled out my old bike I gave them and were charging 400 for it. Went in to get my daughter's bike ready for college. The bike had a tune-up and wheel/seat post locks installed. Also got a kryptonite lock. Roberto the technician/mechanic even helped with a tutorial on the best way to lock the bike, and made sure the seat was adjusted to the proper height & tested with a quick ride in the parking lot. They helped me pick out new parts, choose what I wanted to opt out of, and indexed my Di2 well. I love coming to this bike shop. I ride a '85 Raleigh road bike #steelisreal and I love working on it. I've replaced tyres, adjusted brakes, made other minor adjustments and performed regular maintenance, but sometimes it's just nice to leave your bike with trusted, professional hands. Oscar has worked on my bike several times and after each adjustment, the bike rides better, faster than ever. Most recently, I thought my rear wheel needed to be trued, but Oscar and Michelle found that I had a broken spoke. Oscar worked very quickly and charged an incredibly fair price. I love Michelle too. She helped me choose a new bike light and I love it. Every interaction with her has been genuinely lovely. Can't recommend this place enough. If I could I would give zero stars, I would. I've been searching for a mountain bike. As soon as I walked in they ask if we needed help, and only because we mentioned that we were just looking we started it get a nasty attitude from a man who I'm not sure if he's just an employee or the manager but he has bad customer service. Anyways as I was walking out, I started using my phone outside their door, a women asked me if I can move away from the door. I didn't know me standing outside was an issue. Then I saw other people walking in, (white ppl) and they were greeted right away with a different tone of voice, almost as if they were happy to assist them but not us. What type of business do you run if you decide who you want to give good service too. My advice, run away from places like this. If you don't seem wealthy, you won't get treated correctly. read more

I really like this neighborhood bike shop, the people are extremely helpful and friendly and they cater to everyone whether you are a newbie or a pro, these guys are 2 thumbs up amazing. When I learned about Budget Pro Bicycles a million years ago, they have become my go to place for my bikes, they are meticulous when servicing my Trek bike and gave suggestions and recommendations based on what my bike needs as opposed to just telling me to replace this and that and would generate them extra profit. (I have an old school classic Schwinn and a Trek Mountain bike - They have serviced both bikes and did a phenom job! these bikes are a bit above average price wise so having them maintained by a knowledgeable crew is a must! - Treks are great quality bikes! Budget Pro sells many Trek models and other quality bikes as well jf you are in the hunt. I'd been meaning to buy a bike for the past few weeks. And today was the day. I'd dropped my car off at a dealership for repairs in Glendale, had breakfast, then searched for bicycle shops on Google. I found quite a few, but based on customer pictures, most of them only offered the straight handlebar type that I didn't want. I wanted something like a beach cruiser, but with a few gears. Then I found a link for Budget Pro Bikes, and the pictures suggested a larger variety of bikes, along with many happy customers. So I walked 45 minutes to their shop, and hoped that they'd have something I wanted. Otherwise, it would've been a looong walk back home to Los Feliz! When I arrived at the shop, Oscar helped me out. I told him what I was looking for. He guided me to a 7-speed Townie model that allowed me to sit upright, and was much lighter than its appearance suggested. Perfect! I hefted it--and it was MUCH lighter than the old single-speed beach cruiser that had been stolen from me years ago. I added a Kryptonite U-lock, and a headlight/taillight set to complete the package. He installed the add-ons while I waited. Afterwards, he demonstrated how to remove the lock, undo the front wheel, and the light assemblies to prevent theft. Once it was ready, I took it for a spin in the parking lot. It was so nimble and easy to handle! I thanked him and rode it home over many miles. This was the best bike I'd ever owned! Unfortunately, upon arriving at home I noticed that my receipts, which I'd stowed in my back pants pocket, had fallen out somewhere en route. Worse, my rear taillight had also fallen off, leaving just its bracket on the frame. So I called the shop and spoke with Oscar about these issues. Without hesitation, he offered to replace the taillight for free, and to provide copies of the receipts the next time I stopped by. If you're looking to buy a bike, GO HERE FIRST! They offer top-notch selection, and top-notch friendly and knowledgeable customer service! read more

Other places out there should really take notes from Budget Pro Bicycles on what it means to be a true, TRUSTWORTHY, bike shop! I remember coming here several times a decade ago when I was learning about road bikes and the associates were always open to share their knowledge and educate me on bike aspects and fit so I could make the most informed decision before I purchased - never push just simply happy to have another member of the cycling community and happily let me demo many many bikes and ride in the shopping parking lot next door. I came here last week after years of being away from cycling and with a bike that has been pretty neglected for about 2 years - gears not shifting and another shop told me recently I needed a whole new derailleur system and probably a new crank system - my intuition told me something didn't feel right. Searching for another shop to go to I eventually called Budget Pros remembering my positive experience there years back. I called on a Friday and I was told to come in and they'd take a look at it right away. So I drove the 20+ miles back to my hometown to go to this shop. Once I arrived, an associate even offered to help me get my bike out the car if I wanted as the parking lot was packed. Oscar assessed my bike right away and said he'd recommend a tune up which would include addressing the internal part of one of my shifters (the gear problem had nothing to do with my derailleur!!) and a few minor things I knew I should just change out anyway (e.g. hardening break pads, wearing chain, changing out wires). Never once did he push to sell me, even told me I could wait to switch things out like chain/breaks if I didn't want to do it that day. I opted for the higher tier tune up to get my bike the pampering it needed and it was the best decision!! My bike rides like the first day I got it 10+ yrs ago and the turn around time for the tune up was lightning fast! Oscar and team even accommodated staying open a few minutes longer after closing to accommodate my long commute from work to be able to still pick up my bike in time for getting in a weekend ride. This place is well deserving of the great rating it has and is why they've been around for decades! Budget Pros has great equipment and accessories in stock, but it's the service and the wonderful personnel that has kept their loyal customers coming back time and again. read more

Been coming to this family owned shop since about 1989. I remember buying my first mtn bike frame here, as well as a road frame, and various components and accessories over the years. But since I've moved away I don't get to come in that often, but I'm so glad that they are still here and the service is still the same. Plus they always seem to have just what I need on the occasions that I do get to visit. If you are new to cycling and ready for that first bike purchase, I would highly recommend bringing all your questions here first. Also, if you're new to the shop, parking may be a bit tight and limited, so I would recommend parking on the street (Colorado Blvd) or just behind the shop in the mall parking lot and taking the very short walk to the shop. Always great service. And they always fit me in quickly (that day usually or within a few days). Even during the pandemic when it seems everyone suddenly wanted to bike. Busy little shop (deservedly so). Small parking lot shared with 5 other shops. They are on the left facing Colorado but I find it easier to park other end of lot towards Colorado. Oscar is usually the guy I talk to. I found out about this great shop from Coco's Variety on Riverside back in 2020. The guy I spoke to said they were swamped but to try Budget Pro and ask for Oscar. He was spot on. I have found my go to bike shop to keep my old Cannondale in top form. First visit they fixed an ongoing issue with my brakes. So far so good! A few weeks ago I finally took care of a flat on rear tire. I called and spoke to Oscar, dropped my bike off about an hour later, ran some local errands and bam! my bike was done and waiting when I arrived to pick it up. They also sell helmets which I will be looking at next as my helmet is so old and I'd like a pro fit. I have a hard time finding a helmet that fits correctly. I'm confident Budget Pro will find the right one for me. I'm not sure if they are Dog Friendly, I have yet to ask. read more

I wish I had a good experience here as many reviewers have stated. I'm fairly new to cycling; I walked in here trying to look for some tires to replace my old ones. The employee at the register gave me an attitude when I didn't know the specs of my bike. He said that "there are multiple sizes, for your information." In fact, I didn't know that there were different sizes (I know, rookie mistake.) However, perhaps I should have been more prepared; when I mentioned it was a fixie, he told me I didn't need to be in here looking for parts and that I could just Google information for myself. If Google is the answer, then why do shops like this exist? I like going to stores for face-to-face help and a personal shopping experience, but I think Google/Amazon would serve me better in this instance. At least I know these websites don't hold grudges against new hobbyists. read more

Ill make it short and sweet. Although its out of the way of my OC home, Budget Bikes is a great little shop in Eagle Rock. I bought my Mamba Hardtail here 2 years and have been super happy with it. Im not super crazy in the dirt so there was no need for a full suspension bike. Staff here are knowledgeable and friendly and offer lifetime tune ups. Family owned & operated by Oscar & Michelle who genuinely have a love for what they do and it shows. They miraculously found me a bike at the height of the bike demand surge. If you are a bike owner, you know that you'll form an ongoing relationship with your favorite bike shop and I have been back a handful of times since purchasing my beautiful and affordable Momentum and I'm so thankful I found the right shop to have this relationship with. :) There aren't enough superlatives I can say about the level of service I receive here.
