Reading through the Yelp reviews on Skyline Auto, I could see this was a reliable shop. Despite their busy schedule, they were able to fit us into the lineup on sort notice. Based on the fact that my daughter's car was in for a coolant leak, the mechanic quickly identified the issue - and based on my research in online forums, a very common issue with this model. I immediately noticed that the waiting room area was very clean & tidy, and the shop bays were well organized. We were greeted at the desk by a very friendly office manager, who took down all the necessary details very efficiently. Once the parts were delivered, he quickly replaced the failed part, and offered to perform needed system service for the cost of parts, since the engine was already dismantled at that level. We got the car back clean & tidy, and the quality of repair was immediately apparent. The shop rate we were billed for was very competitive, as well. It's such a relief to be dealing with a knowledgeable, honest mechanic again; I will definitely take all my business here.

Brought my car in for what I thought was a leaky water pump and probable timing belt tensioner…read morenoise. So I agreed to do both. during work it was discovered that the radiator also leaked so I agreed to replacing that as well. When I met with John to pick the car up he simply handed me my keys and said he wasn't going to charge me for any of the work performed due to the shops inability to correct a new starting issue with the vehicle he suggested that it runs fine and starts perfect most the time, so maybe I just drive it. Suggested I could take it to another shop and diagnose what's wrong with it but really it wasn't a big runability issue. So now I'm thinking what the heck did you do to my car, so I took it to GM in Auburn and paid for diagnosis. John expects that I should be happy with the fact I didn't have to pay for any of the work that he performed on the vehicle. In his mind evidently future repairs which are substantial plus the car I had to rent because this was my daily is all on me, not his problem. Now my car sits in the GM backlot waiting for a camshaft that is backordered for a month or two​. What I would explain as a massive lack of integrity from the shop, because this is not how you treat customers. Aaron 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.8L with 86 thousand miles. Topgun said there were too many leaks to repair but I got a quote for custom exhaust. Also shocks and struts were recommended because I had very minimal wear of original shocks/struts and recommended I get them done together for a discount. The new exhaust caused a check engine light and I had to go back to topgun to have that cleared. Welds on the custom exhaust are the worst looking welds I have ever seen and 6 months later I am already having leaks. The sway bar was not reconnected properly and broke (had another shop fix that). The shocks and struts were so cheap that they are already falling apart. Prices are cheap but so is the quality.

I think we can actually handle this! I am breathing much easier, and my shoulders are dropping. I didn't know that regulating one's nervous system could be done by an auto shop! O_O We reached out to RCR because of these positive reviews. They really help - write reviews, people! We are looking for a mechanic we can truly get behind and be loyal to. We also want to be able to wholeheartedly recommend to friends, family, and clients (I'm a mental health counselor and my clients are almost all struggling, too!). It is SUCH a thing, the treasure of finding an upstanding and authentic mechanic (and wife)! A MILLION OUT OF TEN, DO RECOMMEND!…read more We've been having some car issues for a few months, and unfortunately, we've been screwed over at other local shops that have a) lied to us about actual issues to try and get us to pay more, b) have had insane prices. Normally I take to Yelp for everything (duh), but I decided to post in a local Facebook mom's group about our recent issues in search of a mechanic that is tried, true, and reliable. River City Repair was suggested by another local mom, and from there it was less than a WEEK that we had our car up and running with no shady business done. Mark, the owner, actually owns two tow trucks and was able to come tow my vehicle for an incredibly affordable price to the shop. Not only that, but they called me their next business day before 9am with a diagnosis and price. From approving the fixes to the car being ready (and there was a laundry list) it took 48 hours.... 48 HOURS! They worked incredibly fast for the work that needed to be done. And for 8 total things that needed to be fixed (a couple that were major and made it so we couldn't drive the car), we were out the door for parts and labor for less than $2,500. My husband was dumbfounded at their honesty and affordability after a year of dealing with car issues/shady businesses between the two of us. We were ready to throw in the towel and scrap the car and just buy something new even though we reallllly didn't want to, so I am SO glad I posted on that page and was introduced to River City Repair. I met Mark's wife, Tana, over Facebook and she was the one who put all of the gears into motion to get us scheduled to even offering a one-time free diagnostic to help out a local fellow mom. Mark personally drove the truck to pick our car up and he was such a kind, personable guy - even down to showing our two year old truck-obsessed son a few things on the tow truck (and totally making his day). Mark made a comment about his clients becoming like family, and I can TOTALLY see why. He ask that we send him the license plate number and VIN number. we sent to him then crickets!(No response). We called him several times to get the estimate on fixing it and I got no answer from phone calls or voice mails. We don't have $160 to throw away but I guess lesson learned. We are people of color and I truly believe once he saw us he didn't want to do business.
