Reserved a truck online a week before I needed it. Showed up the day of the move - had to wait a little bit because there was a line but no biggie. The older gentleman who helped me was funny, courteous, and made sure I knew how to use the truck and it's lift gate. A few signatures and I was on my way! I went to return the truck at the end of the day, refueled with no extra damage. The same gentleman who helped me that morning checked me in - he ran out to get the mileage and my total charge was less than I expected. A few signatures and I was out of there pretty quick. Great experience overall. Friendly service, low rates, and equipment that works... What's not to like? Will definitely come back for my moving needs, thanks Budget! P. S . The things I could say about budget. Their customer support is a third party company. They have a script they can go off of and do anything to support our rental. The Serpentine Belt came loose and my husband lost complete control of the moving truck. Here's some info about this belt breaking. "If a serpentine belt breaks while driving, you will instantly lose power steering, the alternator will stop charging the battery, and the water pump will cease circulating coolant, causing the engine to overheat." We waited 9HOURS, for a "roadside assistance" operator to inform my husband and I know we could leave the truck and not sit there until the tow comes. 9 HOURS. In the desert. This is on top of calls to every number we could find that is associated with budget. A budget customer service agent threatened us that if we "abandoned" the truck. Budget would no longer honor our full coverage agreement. Our truck arrived after 11:00pm to our hotel. The only call we got today was from a roadside assistance worker who asked us "When can your truck be picked up." We let them know it was still full. He asked how long it would take us to empty it. Called Budget again and was told to drive the truck to a budget. No more calls to budget. This is the location we rented from. Called this location today and the woman who answered seems like someone who hates everything about her job and couldn't help because her manager was off until Monday. Rented a 26-foot truck from this location for a one-way move to Texas. Approximately 90 minutes into the trip the truck suffered a complete mechanical failure -- loss of power steering, throttle, and nearly no brakes -- forcing me to get the truck to the shoulder of the highway under extremely dangerous conditions. A Budget technician diagnosed the cause as a serpentine belt that had dislodged due to misaligned pulleys that were improperly calibrated before the truck left this location. The coolant level was also found to be critically low -- nearly empty. I was stranded on the side of the road for approximately 8 hours. During that time, Budget representatives repeatedly warned me that leaving the truck would be considered "abandonment" and a violation of my rental agreement. I made multiple requests for a replacement truck -- including calling Budget locations in Tucson and Scottsdale -- and was told none were available with no estimated timeframe for one. With my home sale having just closed and no truck available, I was forced to hire an emergency moving company at a cost of over $11,000. My household goods did not arrive at my new Texas home until 34 days after the breakdown. A formal pre-arbitration demand has been submitted to Budget's legal department. Rent elsewhere. read more

Reservation was made and confirmed weeks in advance (I have the confirmation/reservation number. On the morning of our move, I went to Budget to pick up our 26-foot box truck, but it was rented out. In fact, the entire fleet was rented out to AMAZON! The guy behind the desk said, oh it's Black Friday today and Amazon is our #1 customer, and they needed for trucks due to Black Friday. Car was dirty, and return was 7 minutes late, but at the time this place opened, which resulted in excessive charges.

The experience started out well since they had a truck available for me and I was out the door in little time. However, I should have taken the time to compare my photo of the odometer and gas gauge to the false odometer reading and gasoline level reading they put down. This is where the deceptive business practices begin. I drove the truck a total of 1.7 miles. From Budget Truck Rental, I drove down the block, loaded the truck, unloaded it 0.3 miles away, then returned the truck. The odometer had registered 2 miles when I brought the truck back. The same employee who inspected the truck with me in the morning took it back and I had a conversation regarding the gasoline used with the desk clerk. I mentioned that the gas tank was not full when I received it this morning and gave him the paper I received showing that the employee circled the gasoline level as being between full and 3/4 full. He told me not to worry about it and that I was good to go even after I asked if there was anything further I needed to do. The next day, I was charged $5.41 in addition to a $23.40 initial charge instead of the $18.04 I should have been charged ($15.99 daily rate plus $0.55 per mile plus the $0.95 "special tax"). Once I saw my credit card statement, I drove back in to this location (which is a luxury that many people who move do not have) and questioned the charge. The same desk clerk immediately recognized me and told me the $5.41 charge was for gasoline. Additionally, he told me the charge was for "making me drive across the street to put gas in the truck" and "you don't get to drive my truck and not put gas in it." I have included a photo (taken at 7:29am) of the odometer before driving the truck and a photo of the odometer reading they printed out for me that morning. I wanted to include a picture of the paper showing the circled gas gauge reading and lo and behold, he never gave me back that paper! He knew what he was going to do all along. So if you want to rent from deceiving liars who overcharge even after telling you that you are "good to go," then please rent from here. If not, there are multiple U-Haul locations within one mile of this place that provide better service. read more

Update number 2. Last month I moved again. I avoided the June heat by moving in December this time. I liked the prices and the trucks at Budget the last two times I had rented there, so I went back for a third time. I should have stopped at two. I made online reservations and lined up moving help for a Saturday morning. I arrived at the Budget Truck Rental about a 1/2 hour before closing. I was next in line when I received a call. They told me did not have a truck for me. Then, the person went ahead and rented the truck I had reserved to the person in front of me in line. I was shocked and angry to say the least. I personally think they wanted to rent it at full rate instead of the 20% discount code I used online. I called corporate and since no other trucks in the area were available in the area I had no truck to move the next morning. When moving you make plans, and one of the biggest ones is the truck you are using to move. If you can't depend on online reservations, the whole system breaks down. Budget corporate did nothing to lessen my frustration at what the local agency did. Tip: There are always discount codes online and DEFINITELY call ahead to confirm your online reservation before driving over to pick up the truck. read more

I'm going to share with you a lovely story of why you should never use Budget Truck Rental, anywhere nationally. Its not just this chain, but multiple chains that I dealt with, as well as their customer support where I was treated like pure, expendable, dirt. My journey starts in Phoenix, I'm living here as I've been displaced from my home in Los Angeles due to Covid-19. See I put all of my belongings in LA in storage for a month so I could find a new home in Phoenix to wait out the quarantine and return to my job. I explained this situation to a budget truck rep. who set me up with a nice "discounted" 12x12 Truck... Truck is the key word here. So I fly to LA and take an Uber to my pickup location in Irvine. It took me about 45 minutes to get my truck since the rep was bouncing non sensibly from customer to customer. When he finally gets to me, he tells me they actually don't have the truck I reserved... The one I reserved weeks ago. Nope... Instead they have a van. Its the same cubic feet he says, just shorter... Well sir... I'm not a scientist, but if the van is shorter than the truck, how can it have the same cubic feet? But I couldn't argue for long because I was about 30 minutes away from the folks at Clutter going to the park I was going to meet them at and dump all my stuff there with out me. So I reluctantly grabbed the van. I get to the park, and we load the van, and lone behold, its not big enough to fit all my belongings... So with no other choice, I leave some of my boxes at the park. The Clutter gents took them as a tip. So I begin my journey to PHX, I get on the interstate and as the sun rises I turn my A/C on... Well.. I try to. NOPE. The A/C is broken. Yes a broken A/C as I drive through the hottest stretch of desert, in the hottest time of the year, in North America. Just a few minor hiccups so far... I'm trying my best to deal with them. But asI get to the most desolate part of the desert, my truck POPS! And out comes enough smoke to cover a beach raid by The Marine's. I pull the van off to the side of the I-10 desert road, and think to myself. "Wow, I am totally F****d!". So I wait a few minutes and try turning the van back, as I presume it over heated. And BOOM were back in action... Or so I thought. NOW, the van has NO A/C, and it also wont go over 60MPH. So slow Semi Trucks are blaring past me. To refresh you, we're at.... Untimely service, wrong truck, lost some of my items on the side of the road, no A/C, broke down in the middle of the desert, wont go over 60MPH. So I press on, and get my van to my apartment complex in Tempe, Arizona. I unload everything and get it fueled up so I can return it in the morning. The website says the drop-off location is open until 2:00PM on Sunday, May 24th. That morning I decide to wake up early and head to the drop off location, but when I arrive at 12:30 its closed... Ok... This is odd, but maybe Corona Virus hours... So I drive it up to a new location in Scottsdale that also said it was open until 2:00PM... Also closed... So I call customer service and ask for some help... Well I get spoken to like a bumbling idiot for not knowing that the shops apparently all close at 12:00 and not 2:00 and I shouldn't have trust the drop off times or Google hours online. He says ". . .Try again on Monday." which is Memorial Day. "Sir, its going to be open on Memorial Day?" I asked. "Why yes Sir, the website which YOU should've checked says they will be open on Monday, drop it off tomorrow." The customer service rep exclaimed. Angry, I decide to drive the van back to my apartment and try to return it again Monday... But here's where it gets fun. As I'm driving back to my apartment, the truck sputters and slows down, I try and push down on the gas peddle, but nothing. The van, comes to a stop, in THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. Hazard lights on, I text my Girlfriend to call 9-1-1 as I call roadside assistance. By the time I got connected with roadside assistance, who instead of acting hasty to help me in a dangerous situation, needed to go over mundane work, the police officer had arrived. Mr. Police Officer blocked off the intersection, now bottle necking traffic. A nearby AAA drive sees us in need and offers to try and jump the van... It doesn't work, "This thing is fried." he says. AAA gentlemen leaves and the Police Officer and I push the van out of the intersection into an adjacent neighborhood. The Police Officer leaves, and I'm left to push the Van another 100 yards to a safe location. Luckily a Fed-Ex driver sees me, stops and helps me push the van in front of a gentlemen's house, which luckily was just 1 block away from my original drop off location. The man at the house lets me keep the van in front of his home until the morning so I can return the broken down van on Monday.... I just got ripped off so hard. At first the moving van was 15, then 40, mileage wasn't explained. No estimate of cost up front. I had small van for 2.5 hours, went from the 202 and Scottsdale to chandler and it cost me 114$!! Beyond ridiculous. Just talked to five people who said they've never paid that much. Do Not Use. They do not go over the cost with you upfront and then gouge you when it's time to check out. I should,ve paid attention to the 1.5 stars. VERY SHADY - CRAPPY CARS AND THEY RUN YOUR CC WITHOUT PERMISSION I reserved a budget rent a car and paid online. At the store I signed a contract and agreed to a $100 authorization hold on my card. They ran for $225 without telling me for gasoline. for a scion economy car. I did not authorize anything above the $100 contract hold. Please deny. I will not pay. When I called the person I spoke with said he was manager and placed me on hold for 15 minutes, I called on another phone and he immediately answered, when he discovered it was me he placed me on another hold. I called from third phone and the same thing. None of the three lines were picked up again for the next 45 minutes. read more

Budget is without question the worst organization I have ever done business with. I reserved a truck from them for a move from Illinois to Maryland. The night before I was to get it they informed me the truck I wanted would not be available at the location I rented it from. I honestly thought that was the point of a reservation. They provided no additional help and said I needed to call the next morning. When I called they found me one that required a hour and forty five minute round trip. I was surprised to see what an old and poorly maintained truck they had but given I felt lucky at this point just to have a truck I had no choice but take it. When I got the truck to my home the people I hired through their website to load it could not get the ramp down. The reason was it had been bolted to the frame. After a few hours (paying them by the hour we were able to get it to work). The next morning I set out on my way. As I approached Ohio I got an engine warning light but did not know what it was for. As I went further it showed low on DEF. As I got further into Ohio the truck degrade performance by 20%, then 40% then to 5 miles an hour. I pulled in a rest area and tried to add DEF but the tank was completely full. I called Budgets road side assistance. If you are ever unfortunate enough to need this just give up. They keep you waiting for hours each time you call. I am not exaggerating and I had to call them no fewer than 10 times during my experience. They sent out mechanics. After being broken down for over 6 hours they said they could not fix it and to call Budget. So after another hour and fifteen minute wait they said they would have to tow the truck and me to a nearby hotel. I asked them not to do that as I felt it would risk a shift in my contents. They said I had not choice. The next morning I had to start all over calling them. After three calls they informed me that my truck could not be repaired and they would look for another truck for me. Three hours and two calls later they found a truck over two hours away and had begun to search for a tow truck to bring it to me. They located the truck in a few hours and began to tow it to my hotel. At this point I have been broken down for over 24 hours and had to cancel my unload team and flight home from my destination. I asked how my contents would get from one to the other and they informed me once it arrived they would have a professional swap team move loads from one truck to the other. Well the replacement truck showed up and it was actually more beat up then the first. You could understand my fear of even driving it. Once they unloaded and reloaded I got back on the road. When I arrived at my final destination we opened the truck to find that all of my household belongings were damaged or destroyed. So I called them again in a three short hours got the name of their insurance company and number. Well to my surprise Sedgwick has even worse customer service then Avis. Their Agent is working from home due to covid does not answer his phone does not have voicemail and takes weeks to respond to emails. Ultimately he said it was not their fault. So I rented a piece of crap truck from a disgraceful company and ended up losing over $8,000 worth of possessions. Lesson learned and I will only rent from U-Haul in the future as both loading and unloading teams told me they are far superior. I hope no one else ever rents from them as I would not want them to experience even a portion of the stress and loss that this mismanaged company can cause. read more

this is the conversation between budget and my husband after his horrible eperience Jose, I appreciate the offer but I feel that your offer is inadequate. I have already been taking advantage of from the beginning and I do not appreciate being overcharged and misinformed with the initial contract regarding additional drivers. In addition, I do not believe that you guys do take well care of your vehicles allowing a truck to be rented that is far from driving par. Not only was the wheel barring on the trailer worn down and useless but the replacement tire was rotted, worn down, and no manufacturer print date was on the tire. Not to mention the rear main seal on the transmission blew up when we were barely into our travel. And the mechanic that was sent out to replace it put the drive train in upside down which caused the vehicle to vibrate immensely and sounded like a bolt was missing underneath. Should I even mention the time I had to spend on the side of the road before any assistance became available? I waited 5 hours to wait for the trailer to be fixed in the middle of the afternoon in 90 degree heat with no ac. During the second breakdown I had to wait 3 hours before anyone came to assist, and the action that they wanted to take was just completely absurd. They did not come prepared, they wanted to lift the truck 12 ft in the air and drive 45 mins. Do you have any common sense and idea of how much damage that would cost to the property in the truck? Following the directions to pack the truck with the heaviest furniture in the back and lightest to the front, the weight ratio would not balance out 12 ft in the air. so because the mechanic was not prepared, my friend and I had to spend the night at a rest stop with no food. And I don't want to sound like I am whining, but even the strap down ties for the trailer that was provided fell far from usage standards. It looks like they were frayed before and someone had previously used a lighter to melt the ties. Enough about the issues with the truck and trailer, just think about how many lives could have been injured if the breakdowns weren't noticed as quick as they were. The trailer was swerving side to side, if it had been during a busier time, do you know how many cars could have been side swiped? And the smoking from the tailpipe as a result of the engine breakdown pretty much turned the surrounding area dark and clouded with smoke affecting visualization for vehicles behind us. If I had not caught it in time, the truck itself as well as the people inside could very well have caught on fire. Jose, I understand that you are just trying to do you job as best to your abilities, but do you honestly believe that someone's life is only worth $180? My 12 hour trip was turned into almost a 3 day trip. I feel that time was stolen from me from spending time with my newborn, time that I will never be given back. As a member of the army, I have already lost a lot of quality family time. If $180 compensation is the best you can do, then I am going to have to speak with someone who can better assist me. This place has kind of a small business feel for a franchise location of a big national chain. The people here are extremely friendly. I booked a truck through the Budget website, and the reservation went fine except for a small issue that they worked around. I did a weekday move and needed to return the truck after-hours. The website only said that there may be a fee; However, this location doesn't have a key drop box, and they lock up the lot. I clearly made the reservation saying that I would return the truck at night (8:30pm), so they allowed me to keep the truck through the next afternoon without charging me for a second day. It was a little inconvenient, but a fair enough solution. They also said I could park in the shopping center next store and put the key through the mail slot, but I was not comfortable with that. I felt better leaving the truck in front of my house instead of on private property and in open view of a busy road. The prices of the trucks are about the same as a U-Haul, but for slightly smaller sizes. But there are several online coupons you can find with a quick google search to make it much cheaper. Overall, it's a much better deal if you take a few seconds to look for those coupon codes. read more

The truck needed one hell of an alignment had the wheel turned to almost a 20 degree angle to the left in order for the truck to drive straight. Unlike others, I had a decent experience renting a 16' truck for moving. Didn't have any issues renting, surprise fees or gotchas. I found a good promo code online and it saved me a bunch on the rental. The truck was pretty good on gas, too. What this place misses is that the front tires were balding and that wouldn't be safe for anyone going more than a couple hundred miles. I encourage you to truly inspect the vehicle completely and determine if it's safe to use for the length of your trip. I did blow a tire many years ago - not fun. When I returned, I informed the person at the desk and they wrote it down somewhere. Anyhow, moving in Phoenix sucks during the summer, so I got a head start and did it now. Absolutely worst experience with any company ever. I'll keep this brief. I rented from these guys on a Thursday before closing and had to leave the truck somewhere over night. As per instructions form their employees, I left it in a lot where I was assured it wouldn't be towed. The next day, to my surprise, it was towed anyways. I returned the keys immediately after finding out (around noon on Friday) so they could retrieve the truck. Unfortunately, instead of retrieving it that day, they waited 3 more days to even contact the towing company. When they finally decided to resolve the issue, I was charged an additional $300 in mystery 'additional' fees that they wont even tell me are for with my final bill being $393.97. I had to re-call customer service more than a few times because their office has to contact the rental site directly to verify services, but the Tempe location had a hard time answering their phones. After 3 days of contacting customer services I found out I was charged $20 for gas and $119.97 for the three days they waited to get the truck back. The additional $160, I'm assuming are late fees (although no one seems to really know) which I should not have incurred since I turned the keys back in well before they were due and they had plenty of time to get the truck back before it would have been late. But it didn't matter to them, the more they procrastinate, the more money they get, right? read more

Don't expect good service or a moving truck to be ready when you need it, like when you really need it, did everything proper and scheduled things a week in advance. I showed up 15 min before my pick-up time and my truck was not available for another hour because it needed an oil change. Well, I had movers showing up in 45 min and then moving out-of-state the next morning. Time is of the essence and they didn't even try to offer a discount or anything - just said I had to wait. Luckily U-Haul down the street had a truck available. The unprofessionalism and lack of concern for the customer was beyond enervating. So I made my reservation online my parents used there credit card. My parents were going to pay for my move for my birthday. I arrived on Sunday March 20th to pick up the truck. They couldn't use any information i used online. My parents had to show up that morning from over 30 miles away. Then they started to add the hidden fees. I had to rent a car after mine was having repairs. I had a really busy week and going thru the process of renting a car was not something I even wanted to entertain. This place was one of the few near my house that had a good selection of vehicles. They open at 7am which worked for my schedule perfectly. I did everything online and when I got there they verified my info, had me sign, and away I went. The employees could not have been friendlier. Seriously. I don't meet people that are this nice. This is the worst customer service in the history of renting cars. We called in our reservation for pickup at the airport, using a debit card to hold it. Upon arrival at the airport, the agent told us we could only rent with a credit card! It is the responsibility of the rental company to fully disclose that they do not accept debit cards at the airport. Now we are trying to cancel the reservation and they are trying to charge $100 cancellation fee. On top of that, when we arrived at the airport the agents were not helpful at all. One agent was seen on his phone and the agent couldn't even direct us to the nearest budget. Thy have cancelled the reservation but says it will take 5-7 business days to get money back in the account. How can you charge a card that you wouldn't even accept as payment?? Terrible. I had reserved two trucks with Budget because of the price for within a week of each other. They ended up canceling both of my reservations due to not having a truck available, even though I reserved them weeks in advance. No apology for either cancelation.This caused me undue stress as I had to find trucks available to rent at the last minute. THEN, on top of that, this particular office then charged me a $50 fee for not showing up for my truck, even though someone from their office had called me the day before I was to pick it up to say that there were no trucks for me and thus my order had been canceled. Horrific! Never again. If I could, I'd give them a negative 3-star rating. read more

Recently rented a car from this location twice in one month. Both experiences were good, no problems or issues. Honored the online discounts I located which helped save some money. This is a franchise-owned local business. What I most want to do is to compliment them on their customer service, in particular working with a gentleman named Steve. I rented the first vehicle from their location but had to drop it off at the airport. Hence, the "Corporate" world stepped in! There was a minor issue with the charges on the first rental which had stemmed from their "Corporate Rules". When I phoned about the second reservation, Steve worked with me on this, despite the lack of any support from the Corporate Customer Support (which is separate from the franchise). Steve made the necessary adjustments and gave me a great rate on the second rental. Their philosophy - just make it right and that's exactly what they did! It's the small things for me that makes a difference in deciding who gets my business and where I spend my hard earned money. I'm all for keeping it local! Very polite staff, professional, cars were in great condition, super mileage on both vehicles and no issues with reservations. Can't ask for anything more than that! Thanks guys! read more

I reserved a Budget rental car through the Costco Travel website for the amount of $516.87, to be picked up on August 22nd at 5:30 pm. I received a voicemail from Tony at the Budget rental company that day during my working hours, the voicemail said that I had to be there to pick the rental car up by 4:45pm, but I don't get off work until 5 p.m. and did not pick up the voicemail until then. Also my reservation for pick up was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. When I called them back at 5:05pm to let them know I was on my way he said that they close at 5:30pm. That's fine, but if they close at 5:30 p.m. and expect to leave by 5:30 p.m. they should not schedule reservation pickups for 5:30 pm. So at this point Tony knows I'm on my way there and when I arrived at 5:20pm the parking lot gates were already closed/locked prior to the official closing of the business at 5:30 p.m. I called the office repeatedly and no one answered. I finally called the national Budget customer service call center and they told me that there was nothing they could do except to find another location for me to pick up a car. They looked at different locations and determined that the Budget rental car location at the airport was open 24 hours and had a car available for me to pick up then. So then I had to drive another 30 minutes (in rush hour traffic) to a different location farther away from my house to pick up a rental car, and they said they were going to charge me a higher dollar amount for my inconvenience. I said that was not okay and told the customer service agent that they should honor the original amount because the location closed early, which wasn't my fault. I was assured over the phone that I would be charged to the original reservation amount and that they would honor it. When I went to return the rental car to the location in Scottsdale they told me that they were not aware of this and that there was nothing they could do. When I pushed the issue with the manager, they finally agreed to honor the original price and said they would email me the receipt. So I returned the car and left. That night I had still not received the receipt so I called the manager and ask him to resend it which he did. When I looked at the receipt it was for $118 higher than the reservation amount, so they hadn't honored the original price. I had to call my bank and dispute the charges and Budget still claims they did not do anything wrong. This is the worst customer service transaction I have ever experienced and not with just a rental car company, but with any service provider company. read more

I rented a Budget truck and rented for 2 days my house wasn't available to be moved into on the day the truck was due back I spoke to the manager and explained I didn't want to in unload the truck into storage and then reload it back into the truck this upset the manager long story short I had the truck for 3 days longer than I was suppose to on the 3 day I came back to the hotel where we were staying the truck was gone they had come and repossessed the truck with my 4 bedroom home in it now they want me to get a different truck from another truck company and load it into that one all this cost money them seem not to care they were payed in full these people seem not to care thanks read more

Budget is by far the most unhelpful company I have ever dealt with. We rented a van from this location to move our stuff to Boise, and after getting it home to load up, realized that one of the seats was broken and wouldn't fold down. Tried to deal with it ourselves, but didn't want to cause any further damage so we ended up taking it back to the location for help, and watched the employees there do exactly what we were trying to avoid. Besides an hour setback, we were not upset, and went on with the moving process. We finally got on the road, only to have a tire blow in Anthem (about an hour out). We found out later the tires were filled way above the recommended psi, but in the meantime called roadside assistance and sat in the heat with our two dogs for about an hour till the guy came out, filled the donut, which was flat, and we took off to the nearest discount tire. We had a total of 3 conversations with roadside assistance. The first sent out the tire guy, who does not work for Budget, and was the single positive interaction we had. His name is Dave and he was great. The second told us to drive the van about 50 miles back to the airport, where we would have to reload all of our stuff into a different vehicle. Finally my husband asked for a supervisor, and came up with the solution that we would PAY FOR A TIRE and Budget would REIMBURSE us when we made it to Boise. The supervisor got financial approval and we went with that plan. So once the tire was on we got back on the road. It was 4:45 pm and we had been sitting in 116 degree heat for the last 5 hours. Fast forward to Boise, skipping over the fact that we had to drive the 16 hrs straight thru the night to get the rental back on time, we went to the Boise airport counter and ended up having to come back twice and speak to 4 different people to get OUR MONEY REIMBURSED for the tire. No one in this company seemed willing to help at all, and that's pretty sad to me. Would not recommend Budget to anyone ever. read more

HUGE, EXTREMELY COSTLY, & STRESSFUL MISTAKE booking with Budget Trucks! Weeks in advance, I booked a reservation for a 1-way truck from AZ to CA, where I was to start work on Monday morning. The day of my reservation, I called to let Budget know that I was on my way to pick up the truck I reserved, only to be told that they had no trucks available, and that there would not be any trucks available due to other reservations for at least a week. Movers hired, plans made, needing to be at work in a different state, and NO one from Budget even called to let me know!!! With advance notice I might have been able to make other arrangements with a different company, but instead I was scrambling to figure out last minute arrangements. Budget's reply, 'sorry for inconvenience'. Budget Trucks does not honor reservations, and doesn't seem to care what harm is caused to individuals when they do not honor reservations. read more

Reserved a 16' truck about 2 weeks ahead and online too. I used the estimated milage and pick up/ return at the same location options to try and save the most money. I planned it perfectly, the gave a discount on milage online and if u don't use it all u don't get charged! Went over the truck damages before take off, i always try to be very particular about that stuff. The worst part of the experience was the receipt printer from the 70's, so loud and took forever! read more

I reserved a compact car for a road trip a month in advance, I requested satellite radio and for the car to be a hatchback knowing that this is a hard combo to find. Most car rental companies I called do not offer satellite radio at all so I was relieved that some of the Budget cars do. When I picked the car up they offered me either a hatchback with no satellite or a sedan with satellite radio. I opted out for the latter and it was a Hyundai Elantra. Never been a fan of Korean cars but this car impressed me, great mpg and a solid car for long road trips. The car was clean and in great mechanical condition. I was not charged extra for insurance or anything else I didn't want, in fact I had the car for 2 weeks and paid a very competitive rental rate. The staff were very polite and customer service oriented. Will definitely rent here again. Thanks! read more
