Upon arrival he commented on the L bracket that hold the bumper on. It was bent but weld was still perfectly in shape. 12 weeks later he forgot he had to fix that so I wait 4 more weeks to fix a welders job because they just do paint or bottle sold by auto zone work. *****I WOULD ADVISE***** I'm not for telling people to what to do with their money but thought I'd share how mine was wasted and leave it to you to consider. I brought my vehicle here to for insurance to receive some supplemental quote they needed to repair. I made them aware of what was going on with it. Backed by an evaluation and inspection from Pep Boys (documented) that I handed over to them. Was told by Ms.C that they would do their best to look over all the information I emailed in and talk with insurance to get things rolling. to save you the long read here are bullet points of what actually happened. -Car dropped off on Friday. Told I would have some answers Monday. No contact until I reached out before closing time on Tuesday. (No big deal. Things happen) -Spoke with Mr. G on the status and he said he had not been able to look at my car or the 10+ documents I had emailed over to Ms.C. But from what he could discern its wear and tear. I said I was told if I leave it with you guys and pay the $185 + tax at minimum I would be getting the supplemental quote and the true cause of the overheating. He very clearly and proudly stated "What you're paying for is this right here. Me telling you what part of the issue is". -Also through Ms. C under the bus stating "She is not qualified to say what we can do. I'm the expert" -Says he will look over the emails and documents I sent her. Will give me a call tomorrow because they're closing. -Calls me back 15min later to tell me *"I won't touch your car" *"You are not qualified to be my customer" *"My customers have the budget to get their car fixed fast and timely" *"What you will do is come pay the $185 and get your car because I don't want to work on it if you are not willing to pay what I'm telling you" *"I'm actually going to tell the insurance the opposite of what you want me to. You came to an expert!" For a place that prides themselves for being "For the people". I did not find that to be the case at all. If you happen to feel inclined to do business with this place. Please make sure you only hand your car off to Mr. G as he is the only person qualified to speak on what can and will be done. Make them put in writing what will do done and exactly what you're paying for. I paid $185 for information that I already knew and was documented. The cost for Mr.G to glance over your car in 15min. Told I would have a complete diagnose of the issue then told I can't do anything until you pay me this amount. VERY VERY VERY interesting practices going on here. I am not one to speak on how others do business, I can only choose who I do business with. I would reconsider. *Mr.G will find that everything I am stating is true per our phone conversation. Auto Crafter's said my son's VW GTI engine was shot and quoted him (after $800 for labor) around $7,000.00 for a new engine. He got it towed to another shop that specialized in VW's and they found it only needed a new fuel pump. Your can imagine the amount of expletives in my first draft of this review, but with meditation and journaling I've decided to keep it succinct. I was told I needed a new engine for my car, for reasons they couldn't quite explain, and was charged $800 up to this point for labor for them to tell me my engine was totaled. I neglected and took the car to a specialist, who was able to find the problem ( a 20$ plastic piece), and didn't even charge me for the piece because I already had it. They said they were able to work on European cars but they couldn't figure out something a 3 minute YouTube video would've shown them. Had a road trip emergency in which I flew to Phoenix & bought a used 1973 Jeep CJ from a private party. 30 miles later it wouldn't run, with a mysterious fuel problem. Other shops couldn't/wouldn't help due to backlogs or the age of the veh. I was very pleased with this place. I brought my car in for several issues: broken door lock, brake replacement, and a broken rear light. I had researched the door lock issue prior to coming in and checked reviews on all the Nissan repair places in the area. These people were not the cheapest in labor costs, but they were the second cheapest. This company was upfront about pricing and estimates. They correctly reported the door lock problem - and did me one better by fixing it without needing the replacement part. They changed the lightbulb in the breaklight for free. Another note: these people didn't show even a hint of being condescending. As a small female, I notice when auto repair places treat me like a normal intelligent person. Overall, a really good experience. Course, it probably didn't hurt that I mentioned that I use review websites and fully intended to review their company on such a site when I was at the desk. read more

I would actually give this company 10 stars if I could. The staff, Jake especially, is great. I take both of my vehicles to Autocrafters for service from new tires to major repairs. Honest and forthright businesses, especially mechanics, are very hard to come by as you always have in the back of your mind if the business is overcharging you or selling you a repair your car really doesn't need. On my most recent visit, my truck was vibrating and pulling right. I thought I needed an alignment, but it turned out that I need 4 tires instead. I was not expecting that kind of expense, so Jake worked hard to find me a deal on 4 higher-end tires. He ended up charging me exactly what it cost them to buy the tires from their supplier which was LESS than what Costco would have charged me for the same 4 tires. Prior to that, my husband has a 2004 Blazer that has an air compressor problem. Autocrafters had replaced the compressor and it failed again. Autocrafters honored their service and repair warranty 4 TIMES (with no extra charge to us) to replace this compressor and then gave my husband a free oil change to boot. All I can say is WOW. First and foremost, these folks are honest, upfront and so professional! The owner Greg is by far one of the most kindest and fair people I've ever met in my life. I was recently in an auto accident (my first one ever) and not only has he "done his job" but he has gone way far and above his duty by assisting me with a lot of the process in other ways beyond just the auto repair. He even went to bat for me against the at fault party's insurance when they were trying to get him to do shoddy repair work. He could have easily accepted the job just to get the money but insisted what they were trying to pull was unethical and could potentially cost me my life if I were to ever be in an accident again. Honestly, I could continue to go on a on about how great Greg and his team are...I call him my angel because he truly has been beyond amazing. If I ever need any auto repair again I will drive how ever many miles it takes to get to him (I live no where near his shop). Watch Out for these Folks! Specifically the owner Greg. Yelp reviews are more accurate than Google Reviews for these guys FYI. To Jump right in my car was not starting, before I started to throw money at parts trying to figure out what it could be, I decided to get it professionally Checked out. After calling around different shops I stumbled upon Autocrafters. Greg was friendly personable made you feel like you could trust him. So I had no problem having him take a look at my car to see what the problem was. During our phone call we agreed to do a DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. As stated before I need to figure out what is wrong with my car. He agreed with the Diagnostic Check and even stated he would waive $50 off my initial tow for it to get to his shop. As a customer I was ecstatic that he went over and beyond to help me out. Little did I know it was all a facade. So the Following Day when my car arrived in his shop he quotes me it is going to be $1600 for a Fuel Pump Replacement. Now we all know it does not cost that much to replace the pump. Even with top of the line parts. I know my car and what she carries. So I kindly decline and state that I will pay for the DIAGNOSTIC CHECK and get it fixed elsewhere. I just needed to make sure it was the Fuel Pump that was really the problem before I spent unnecessary money. So I payed for my Diagnostic Check and let Greg Know that I am having a Tow company tow my car from his shop to a different mechanic. He agrees that this is Fine and said he will hand over the keys to them when they arrive. Perfect. The Morning my car was supposed to be towed from Autocrafters to the new Mechanic he texts me stating that I have a remaining balance of $79 dollars. Now i am expecting to pay $25 because that is the remaining balance after the waived $50 off tow. (TOW was 75) Immediately I ask were is this coming from and he states it is for the tow fee, I reminded he stated that he would waive $50 off the tow. He then goes and states he never said that and says ONLY IF I SPENT $500 or more then he would waive it. He NEVER stated that I had to spend a certain amount for the tow. So I refused to pay it. He then claims HE WILL NOT RELEASE MY CAR UNTIL I PAY THAT BALANCE. I still refused and HAD TO CALL THE COPS to get my car out of his possession. That in itself was a 3 HOUR ORDEAL. Finally when the car finally is released and towed away to the other Mechanic. I get a call from my new mechanic stating AUTOCRAFTERS NEVER PUT THE PARTS THEY TOOK OUT BACK IN MY CAR FOR THE NEW MECHANIC TO FIX. I call AutoCrafters, and they said they are not responsible for my parts STATING BECAUSE I DID NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AND SPEND OVER 500 DOLLARS THEY WILL NOT PUT BACK ON THE PART THEY TOOK OUT! So i had to have the New Mechanic go over there and get my parts back for my car. Long Story Short I will never ever ever ever ever be doing business with this place again. Waste of time. Do not even bother with this place and take your vehicle elsewhere! The owner feeds you what you want to hear then changes everything he says after a couple of days. My fiance took his vehicle here for an estimate due to an accident and Greg said he would call him back the next day for pricing. He never called us, so the next day at closing time, WE called HIM and he stated that there was more damage on the car than expected. So he needed till the next week to get us an estimate. We agreed on a day and time to look over damage and discuss price. When that day rolled around, the shop was closed! No sign, no update on their voicemail, no call as a heads up to us, nothing. We waited over an hour. My fiance called him again, and he didn't even remember who we were or our situation. Again, this daily driver of ours has been at his shop for over week and we dont even have an estimate! He agreed to meet us later in the day so we could pick up the keys and car since we weren't going to deal with the shitty customer service. Then when he got there, he demanded his $90 fee for an estimate, which we never got!!! No price was ever discussed and he kept pushing insurance, when we stated 5 different times already, we were not going to go through. We took the car elsewhere and got an estimate, same day. He didn't listen, or even care about our situation. Accidents are super stressful and he made it even worse. Please don't waste your time here. Wonderful service! My grill was ripped off my car in a car wash and after going to multiple auto shops I happened to run across Auto Crafters. I went in and the receptionist was very sweet, she asked me what was wrong and got the main crafter to take a look at my car. He informed me that it would actually just be cheaper to buy a new grill, which he ordered right then and there. I came back the next day, he installed it and made sure it would stay put this time! Beautiful shop and they worked with me on the price! I'll definitely be back because my car could use a new paint job and he informed me that they could actually match the original color (copper toned 1998 RAV4) which I didn't think was possible! I recently got into a car accident and went to the collision center that the insurance company suggested we use (lesson: never go to a bodyshop the insurance recommends). I had to take it back and fourth to that body shop 4-5 times without any luck. I had it so I went to AutoCrafters after hearing great reviews and getting a recommendation from a friend. Greg and Randy have always been attentive to my needs as a customer as well as addressing each and every concern I had with my car. They went out of their way to fix what the other shop did but also fix things that were not done before. Greg is truly a consumer advocate and will fight for the customer 10/10 times. I would not trust my car to anyone more than AutoCrafters. They are honest, quick, and reliable. They will not nickel and dime you and tell you to get unnecessary repairs! read more

My son's car (2003 Nissan Altima) was over-heating, and drove it to this place since it's close to his apartment. Turned out the car needed a new radiator and a new thermostat. Got quoted $790!!! $305! for new (after-market radiator) $139! for new thermostat $98! for coolant (antifreeze) $215! for a diagnostic + tax! :) Refused job, and still got charged $215 for diagnostic! So, my car had been acting weird for almost 2 months....press the gas pedal and it doesn't speed up, etc... I have a favorite mechanic who spent half a day trying to figure out what was wrong, and he eventually sent me to another mechanic, who also didn't know what was wrong, and since I didn't know any other mechanics, and didn't really want to part with my money, I just kept driving my car the way it was. Until today. Driving in rush hour traffic on the freeway, my car wouldn't speed up faster than 45mph, so I took it here, on a recommendation from a friend. They assured me that they could figure out what it was, and they could fix it the same day. They even gave me a ride to school! A few hours later, they call me and tell me the problem and what it will cost to fix it. I give them the go ahead and around 3pm this afternoon, they let me know that my car is ready to be picked up....and it runs like a dream! I would recommend Autocrafters to anyone because they treated me well, and I don't feel like I got ripped off, even though I'm a female college student with little knowledge about cars. I took my vehicle here to get body work done for hail damage. Jake, the guy who took my claim, worked with me, and my insurance, to get this done in a timely manner. He was able to get the body work done in about 2 weeks, and that includes having to deal with the hassle of an insurance adjustor coming out and requoting. The vehicle was returned to me in perfect shape and the hail dents have all been removed. Jake also waived my deductible. Poor business ethics!! I was referred to Auto Crafters and I will not be referring them to anyone else. We had a great initial experience with them but when our car was returned after almost a month it had a huge dent in it. My fiance was the one who picked it up so I called and the owner, Greg, who told me that it did in fact happen while it was in their care but that they wouldn't fix it because it was not caused directly by them. Come to find out that this had happened a while back and it was not communicated to us at the time that it happened. We even stopped in the day before we picked it up and they didn't say a word! Greg said that the day it happened everyone had been working on it and said it was a good thing that no one had gotten hurt. However, he wasn't actually there when it happened, nor did he find out about it until the same day as us when we picked up the car. I asked him why we only heard about the problem at the time of pick up and he said that he thought the tech, Randy, had told us before and that that shouldn't have happened but that they still weren't responsible. When I questioned their communication because, 1. His staff didn't inform him of the problem when it occurred, and 2. they failed to notify the owners, he said "I'm not talking to you. You are not my customer. Don't call back here again." and hung up on me. The paperwork we received had no notes about the dent whatsoever, and quite honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they fabricated the story to save themselves the cost of labor. Here's a tip for Auto Crafters: when a car is in your care and it gets damaged, whether it's your fault or not, let the owner know. If we had known we could have come to an agreement about something and paid to have it taken care of at while it was still at the shop. Instead they tried to return it with the dent and tried to downplay the whole thing. I get that accidents happen, but the deception is poor business ethics. read more

My Chevy had a massive oil leak. After reading many reviews for various shops I decided to call these guys. I spoke with a gentleman named Gregg. After leaving it there, he had the diagnosis and estimate done for me in about an hour. I called both the dealership and my family mechanic back east to get a second and third opinion. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the quote Gregg gave me was not only fair but also less than the other quotes I received. He even communicated with me through text because I was working all day. I would have never thought I could receive such great service. THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS! I needed a new radiator for my vehicle, and the tow truck took me to the closest shop, Auto Crafters. They said I needed a new radiator and I gave them the OK to replace it. They replaced the radiator and returned to me my vehicle. After driving home I noticed my radiator was leaking coolant. I couldn't believe my new radiator was already leaking coolant. I took my vehicle back in for the problem, and the situation became much worse. They told me I had a faulty hose that needed to be replaced and that it would cost $160-$180!!! I could not believe this! It was this info that I know they were trying to scam me and many others. First of all, how they did not catch this while replacing a radiator blows my mind, arent they supposed to do a pressure test to check for leaks? (the answer is yes) Then when they told me it would cost over 100 bucks I knew they were crooks. The leak came from the lower radiator hose, a 12 dollar part! Replacing this hose is a 20-30 minute job! How that works to over 150 is beyond me. After calling them out on this I asked for their mechanic licence numbers. They refused to give me any proof they were certified. I took my car back from these crooks and did the job myself. Again it cost me $12 and thirty min for something they wanted to charge be $160 for. I write this review so hopefully others choose to go to a different mechanic so they dont get screwed like they tried to do to me. These guys are lazy, unqualified, and are there for only your money; not to make a satisfied customer. It is exactly like Lacey i, the other yelp review, says it is. A few months ago, I took my car into Auto Crafters for a coolant pressure concern. I was quoted under $2000. Greg told me I would have my car back in 2 days. I never heard back from Greg so 2 days later I called to check in. He then informed me that the cost of repairs jumped to $3000. At this point, he already started working on my car and without notification of cost increase, continued his repairs. I had no choice but to agree to the price change. About a week later, I picked up my car only to find the same I presented with were still occurring. I took my car back two more times and Greg continued to tell me that everything was fine with my car and nothing was a problem. For my "inconvenience" Greg told me that I would receive a $100 coupon to use at their facility. Several phone calls and 3 months later, I still have never seen this "coupon." Finally, I took my car to a new mechanic and found out all these problems that Greg apparently fixed...were never fixed at all. I clearly wasted my money with Auto Crafters and had to pay double because I needed to get the repairs done properly at another facility. This place is horrible!! My Prius got hit and the front end needed some work. Over the 3 weeks it took to get back, I was lied to (told it was taking so long because of the insurance company- when I call AmFam they stated they paid for the service 2 weeks prior). When I finally got my car back, it sounded differently- when I stated I wanted to bring it back in to get fixed, the shop told me that they have never worked on a Prius before and have no idea what it's supposed to sound like... great!! Another week in the shop and after getting it back, it STILL wasn't running correctly. Took it back in a few days later and the manager then told me to lie to my insurance company so they could get more money out of them to try and fix the issue that they couldn't solve and so I could get a rental car....ummm, yeah no! I had to battle with AmFam to get my car to another place to get fixed but when I did, the new repair shop figured it out right away. However, what I didn't notice was all the dings and scratches that Autocrafters put on my car while in the shop. Do a walk around your car before picking up from these people!!! My car looks like crap now thanks to them. After it was all done, my car was in their shop for about a month and a half... the second repair shop stated that it should have taken 2 weeks. These people lie to you, ask you to lie to others and have no clue what they are doing! When my husband or I would show up to the shop just to check on the car, all the service guys would be in the front office just standing around talking to the clueless ladies in the front- when we would walk in, they'd scatter like flies on crap and of course when we'd ask to speak to one of them, they were all "busy working." read more

I brought my car in to auto crafters when my AC started blowing hot air. They ended up sticking me with a $85 charge. $50 for the AC check (which was not discussed before hand) and $30 for an oil change which for my car is high, I usually spend $20. Long story short they told me that my AC compressor was "locked up" and it needed to be replaced. Said it would be minimum $1200, without tax. I took the car into the Honda dealership two days later for a second opionion. Dealership reported the compressor was completely fine. I paid the dealership $150 and have cold AC going again. Whether this was a fluke situation or not, I Dodged a huge bullet by not trusting this shop!! Too many frauds out there these days to not get second opionions on EVERYTHING! pretty sad read more

I would give Autocrafters ZERO Stars if I could. My sister took her car into Autocrafters because she blew her head-gasket; the car overheated. They told her she needed 3 new hoses, a new head gasket, and 6 spark plugs. Then, they told her the cost would be $3,800 FREAKING DOLLARS!!! Let me put that into perspective: -The 3 hoses...$50. -The 6 spark plugs...$15. -The head gasket...$50 (max). -Total of a 4-8 hour job. The parts would have cost $115 max. That results to $3,685 for four-eight hours of labor. That's over $460 - $920 per hour! Doctors that earn $150,000 per year make around $40-$50 per hour (after taxes). What makes these crooks think they deserve 10-19 times more than a doctor? Also, the car cost my sister $1,200. Why would it cost more than three times as much just to replace 3 hoses, 6 spark plugs, and a head gasket? Hmm...should she buy three sets of parts or buy A WHOLE OTHER FREAKING CAR? Oooh, that's a touch choice there (sarcasm). But, here's the REAL kicker! Replacing those things would NOT have fixed the problem. Turns out, there was A LOT more wrong with her car: -The thermostat was bad. This caused the over heating! -The radiator was bad and caked with rust. This helped cause the overheating. -The lower end of the engine went bad after the overheating. They never even addressed these problems. Basically, they were just going to put a band-aid on the problem and charge her for a complete operation! NOT replacing the thermostat and radiator would have resulted in ANOTHER over-heating and ANOTHER blown head gasket. The whole engine needed to be replaced and all they wanted to do was replace a few MINOR components. These people are crooks. They knew my sister didn't know much about cars and they thought they could rip her off. She's lucky she talked to me about it and I was able to refer her to a reputable mechanic that changed out her whole engine for less than $800. I changed out her radiator and it cost less than $80 for the radiator and only $40 for the fans. So, for less than $1,000 we fixed the whole thing when these crooks wanted $3,800 for 3 hoses, 6 spark plugs, and one broken head gasket. The mechanic we talked to said, replacing those things would have let her drive her car for ONE HOUR before the head gasket blew again. I can't believe these people can live with themselves doing that to people that don't know any better. I'd like to say some VERY strong, colorful words here but I know my comment would probably get removed. Basically, stay away from these crooks (and calling them crooks is putting it lightly). But, wait...let's pretend these guys aren't crooks. Then, WHY DID THEY MISS SUCH OBVIOUS PROBLEMS LIKE THE BAD THERMOSTAT? Why didn't they see the bad radiator? Why couldn't they deduce the overheating was caused by some other problems? Why put a band-aid over such a HUGE problem? I was very upset leaving this place a month ago. I thought I would give it a month to review them and try to calm down a bit before reviewing them and to see If I felt the same way. I do still feel the exact same way. I am a female who is 23 and look much younger than I am because I am petite. I went in to the shop with a radiator problem and they were going to charge me $1000! I asked for what and I was told by the shop manager, Greg, that it would be $400 for a fluid flush and to replace the fluids and $700 for labor. I was livid! I know how much these things cost and so I called my dad because I felt I was being taken advantage of. I was! I told my dad what they wanted to charge me and he laughed! My dad quickly found me another place that would do the exact same repair for much less. I hung up the phone and said I would be taking my car somewhere else. Greg then proceeded to call me sweetie and "break it down for me". He also claimed that I needed new breaks which I don't! A month later they are still fine! Here's a tip: do not ever call a young woman sweetie who brings her car in for a repair. It is insulting! I will never go there and have already begun to spread the word about this place! read more
