The driver clearly was confused (I'm not going to say he was impaired, but I can't get that possibility out of my head) and didn't know where was going, went on the wrong freeway, almost got us into two freeway accidents, surged speed and then slowed down several times, and tried to take wrong exits before we yelled at him on three occasions. We finally got out of the car at a stoplight one mile from my place and walked home, shaken. My boyfriend tried to report the problem but Lyft did nothing and instead charged him for the trip -- plus 20 percent tip. He reported it to the police but we did not think to keep the license plate number so other than telling someone about a problem driver out there in Phoenix, there wasn't anything to do. What is the recourse here, other than leaving Lyft? That's a problem as my only other alternative is Waymo and that's operating on a limited basis in select cities. I like that Lyft offers me filters for drivers -- which I now consider valuable considering this complete lack of customer service. In any event, it's not valuable enough for me to stay considering the experience we had last night. It's a real shame that Lyft just lost two customers for being blind to the needs of its customers.

So when I am thinking about a taxi company I'm thinking about a company that's local that provides good service with good drivers and decent vehicles. When I went looking for a taxi company in Scottsdale I immediately noticed that Scottsdale Cab company had plenty of reviews and that they had been around for quite some time and had a track record of providing good service. I felt that would be the safest route to take and boy was I right. The taxi that arrived was clean the driver was very well dressed and polite and the car actually got to my residence about 15 minutes early. The driver knocked on my door and assisted me with my luggage and we got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. During the call, the rep requested access to my phone to help me navigate the process. I allowed it and he proceeded to access my bank account and steal $975 from me!! He then attempted to charge my bank account through Uber $500 eight different times within the following hour. I have a bank statement, confirming this. The attempted charges come from Uber. I have contacted Uber on more than 15 occasions since the incident, never getting any real attention whatsoever. Instead, I always get an automated message telling me since the charges did not go through, they are closing the case. And just like that, I am dismissed! There is no getting a hold of a live human at Uber. It's all automated and it's all generic and nobody there cares about my situation. Needless to say, I will never recommend or use this company ever again. Ever. Uber is the most unprofessionally run business I've ever used in my entire life. On August 5, 2026, my Uber driver dropped me off at an incorrect address at a stranger's house instead of my requested destination, stating she needed to leave to pick up her own daughter. Despite my physical disability (ankle hardware) and severe distress, I was left stranded on foot in an unfamiliar neighborhood early in the morning. Rather than addressing this critical breach of safety, Uber's support system has repeatedly sent canned, automated denials. They have refused to issue a full refund back to my original payment method for an incomplete trip--which total included a pre-selected $30 tip--and instead attempted to dismiss the situation by offering useless internal app credits ($5 and $30 "Uber Cash"). Drivers who abandon passengers at unconfirmed locations should not retain fares or tips, and customer support should not rely on automated scripts to dismiss serious safety violations. I will never use Uber's services again, and I strongly caution anyone--especially individuals with physical limitations or safety concerns--against relying on this platform.

We had a late arrival and had our daughter in tow, I was very pleased to land and immediately get a text from the driver that they were there and ready when we were. The communication was very good and we grabbed our bags and met them at the door. Heather was our driver and she was such a joy. She's also a parent and I think she recognized that it had been a long day. She interacted with our five year old during the 30 minute ride to our hotel and we were really grateful for that. She also picked us up when our trip ended and remembered our daughters name and that she needed a booster seat. We also had a driver for a jeep tour that we did and had them for about 7 hours. Our driver was Sam and he was very kind and helpful. When we arrived for our tour it was a little confusing where we needed to be and Sam hopped out and went to figure it out for us. He also helped us with finding a place to eat. We didn't expect the tour to run as late as it did and while we were out he researched some places we could quickly get into without a reservation. That was such a great help and unexpected. There was a lot of driving involved and we ended up keeping Sam for longer than expected but it was all handled smoothly and it was so great that we could relax and let him handled getting us around. We later learned that he had purchased a booster seat for his vehicle when he learned our daughter would need one. It's this kind of thoughtfulness that really made our trip to Scottsdale memorable. We will definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone visiting the area.
