I visited today during their first day of soft opening right before they closed and was the only customer with my 2 kids. The owner opened the door for me both entering & exiting which was very kind because navigating with a double stroller can suck (iykyk). Their soft opening menu didn't have everything they'll offer once fully opened but the owner was gracious enough to let me order a pandan soda to take back home for my husband. I ordered a pandan matcha latte with oat milk and it was delicious! Not too sweet but just enough pandan flavor that didn't get lost with the milk and matcha. The cafe itself is very pretty with couches, counter seating and tables. I loved the touches of Indonesian culture and my daughter spent a few minutes flipping thru the books they had open on one of the coffee tables. Overall I'm very excited to come here more often to try more of their drinks and enjoy the space alone or with my family!

The new space is very bright and open, with plenty of seating. I especially liked the open countertop seats! I visited right as they opened (First customer!) and got to chat a bit with the owner and the baristas. Everyone was super friendly! The pandan latte, one of their signatures, is one of the best versions I've had to date. It is very balanced and not too sweet, which I find can be hard to get right with how distinct/strong pandan can be. They take advantage of their strong specialty coffee very well! I think Hijau deserves all the hype i've been seeing and I will definitely be returning to try their other drinks!

Came here for my birthday meal since I've been wanting to try it all year and here are my thoughts…read more FOOD: Dungeness Chili Crab (10000/10): This dish was a ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, one of the BEST food I've ever tasted. The crab was tender, coated in a rich, glossy chili sauce that perfectly balanced sweet, tangy, savory, and spicy flavors. It paired beautifully with a side of rice. I'm already drooling just thinking about it and would 100% order it again in a heartbeat! Char Kway Teow (10/10): Amazing stir fried noodles. The flat rice noodles had a smoky, slightly charred flavor and were tossed with savory Chinese sausage, tender shrimp, egg, bean sprouts, and garlic chives. The dish offered a satisfying blend of sweet, salty, and umami flavors. It was comforting, flavorful, and wonderfully satisfying without feeling too heavy or oily. Singaporean laksa (10/10): This dish was similar to a Vietnamese curry with a fragrant, coconut-rich broth that delivered a balance of savory, spicy, and subtly sweet flavors. The rendang chicken was super tender, the yellow noodles were soft and soaked in flavors. It was the kind of dish that made it hard to put the spoon down. SERVICE: Staff was super nice and accommodating. Even gave me a free side of rice and deserts to go since I really enjoyed their chili crab sauce. AMBIANCE: The place was very clean and feels very homy. They also offer free chicken soup for you to sip on while you wait for all the tasty foods to come. Overall, AMAZING experience and phenomenal food! Would come back every single day if I'd lived closer :(

The event was last minute as…read morethe goal was to have my mom join before she couldn't anymore, so this was incredibly meaningful. We kept it small and intimate (12 people) and Michelle was absolutely fantastic with answering all my questions and making sure everything went smoothly. We reserved a portion of the outdoor area with a few dividers, and the staff were kind and accommodating. The family loved the food - in fact, it was the first time I had seen my mom eaten so much in a very long time. The noodles were my favorite :) We had come here a few times before and all were great times, but very special shout out to the staff here. Thanks for making that evening special for me, my husband, and our family.

Catering service and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the dishes!…read more What impressed me the most is the meat dishes. The Balado (short ribs) and Ayam Rica Rica (chicken) are so delicious! The chicken was soaked in some kind of red sauce that I mistook it as spicy. It actually just had a slight hint of a kick but the tomato-based sauce is deeply immersed into the chicken thigh meat. The meat is so tender and juicy and full of flavor. The Balado is the same. It's not spicy at all despite a very red looking sauce. The meat comes in big chunks but they are easily peelable. It's very satisfying to take in the delicious proteins. We also have a Garlic Nooodle on the menu and turns out that's the least favorite dish. Although I like the amount of mushrooms on it, it lacks any hint of garlic flavors and most importantly a spice was used on it that doesn't seem fitting. I couldn't nail it down whether it's basil leave or some kind of herbs, but it destroys the impression of garlic noodle completely. Someone also complained that the noodle is too sweet. I'm less offended by that but really disappointed by that herb mix. We also had the Gado Gado with veggies only and it has fried tofu and cucumber and peanut sauce. It's ok but slightly too bland for me. However, the shrimp chips are delish and divine! Overall the good credits of the meat dishes brings up the entire rating.
