The pandan latte did not disappoint and it's natural tasting compared to the neon green color you usually see in other pandan flavored items. I've been wanting to try this place and finally I did! You don't get to see a lot of Indonesian coffee shop around here and south cal area, so I give huge respect to them. I was lucky that they had their grand opening when I came by. The line was tolerable, they had 5 baristas working so to the turn around was pretty fast. The food and drinks were ready in no time. Huge props on organized planning! I love their details on the interior design, everything screams the characteristics of Indonesia. The wall decorations, the counter design, everything is so thoughtfully and carefully designed modernized traditional indo. Their klepon latte is good and a bit thick, but it reminds me of the klepon snack that I grew up with. Nastar latte, not so much, not a big fan. Can't wait to come back and try their pandan latte ! Hijau Coffee might be the first Indonesian coffee shop in San Jose. I went on a Sunday at 12 PM, the day after the grand opening, and it was not too crowded. We ordered: - Pandan Latte ($7) - very good, nice pandan flavor, not too sweet - Klepton Latte ($7.50) - also good, the coconut milk flavor shines through, not too sweet - Pastel Ayam ($6) - basically an Indonesian empanada, okay - Roti Bakso ($6.50) - milk bun with ground chicken, the bun was a bit dry - Nagasari ($5) - steamed rice flour with banana filling in banana leaf, pretty good - Risoles ($6) - deep-fried rolled savory crepe with creamy chicken filling, really good, would definitely recommend ordering! The interior is very tasteful with nice Indonesian textiles on the walls and theme of green. It's very spacious with lots of room to chat with folks or work on a laptop! As someone who values sustainability, I also like that they offer reusable glass cups if you dine in. This will probably become one of my go-to coffee shops in the South Bay. Stumbled upon Hijau Coffee's grand opening and we were so lucky we did! I haven't had coffee from Indonesia since my trip in 2017, and after one sip I was immediately transported back! Almost ordered the pandan latte then did a double take and Ordered the Klepon- pandan syrup with coconut milk and coconut flakes!! The espresso was strong but not overbearing! Loved the vibe of the cafe! The staff was really friendly and attentive; all very excited for the new cafe. Hijau Coffee's new store is open, so I decided to visit since I missed their pandan lattes. Parking near the store is limited, and I ended up parking in the Safeway parking lot across the street. The interior of the store is beautiful, and shows a lot of Indonesian culture and art. Service is nice and fast. I got the Pandan latte for here to enjoy the vibe of the store. The drink tasted as great as I remember, with that subtle yet prevalent pandan taste I love. I also got some coffee beans as well, to take the flavors back home. I heard about this place at various media outlets, so I decided to check them out. To begin with, parking could be a little confusing with there to enter. A key thing to remember is that the entrance is outside of the garage, on the street. When I walked in, I was immediately impressed with the decor: they had a live tree and what looked like live potted plants. I could tell that they tried really hard to bring greenery inside. I ordered the Klepan and Nastar Latte: I really enjoyed pinnacle syrup in the Nastar Latte; it added a really nice fruitiness to the coffee. The Klepan was also really good with the coconut milk. They sell coffee beans and other merchandise like cups and bottles and hats. They sell coffee, matcha, as well as pastries (and are able to warm it up for u). Ordered the pandan latte whole milk regular sweet bc they said it would be perfect sweet. Partner got cappuccino with oatmilk. We also got the asiago scone and banana bread. Pandan latte whole milk- 4/5 i think regular sweet for me was on the sweet side and would have been better if it were less sweet. But very subtle and unique flavor, vanilla-y with pandan. Cappuccino w oatmilk- partner said it was good. I had the opportunity to try Hijau during their soft opening and all I can say is I can't wait to go back!! At first glance, the aesthetics felt so earthy yet so pristine, calming & inviting all at the same time. I'm south East Asian, so maybe it just felt familiar. I love the mixture of wood and bamboo. They made some really good choices with the furniture - so cute! The lighting felt right. Love the overall vibe! I'm coming back solely just to work in this space! I've only tried their iced pandan lattes and can't wait to try other things but so far, it had a good amount. A lot of places fall short of the pandan flavor, but not this one! Hijau Coffee has been a spot i've been eyeing for a long time but never had the opportunity to visit while they were a popup, but they've now opened a storefront in the heart of midtown! The new space is very bright and open, with plenty of seating. I especially liked the open countertop seats! I visited right as they opened (First customer!) and got to chat a bit with the owner and the baristas. Everyone was super friendly! The pandan latte, one of their signatures, is one of the best versions I've had to date. It is very balanced and not too sweet, which I find can be hard to get right with how distinct/strong pandan can be. They take advantage of their strong specialty coffee very well! Super cool to see an Indonesian coffee place! I took my friend from Indonesia here and there was a fun moment where she was like "omg the music is Indonesian haha" The drinks! I got the pandan matcha which was yummerz. I'd get again. You can add more syrup or honey at the end to make your drink sweeter which I feel like most establishments don't have which is cool. My friends who gotten the pandan latte said they mainly just tasted coffee and not too much pandan, but the coffee was a good coffee. The interior decor of the place is also very gorgeous and I like how it's kid friendly too! With a small nursing area and a small bookshelf with kids books. Cute coffee tent at the Cupertino farmers market serving unique Indonesian flavors! I have been eyeing this spot for quite a bit since I haven't had anything in the South Bay similar to Hijau. The closest place that I have had Indonesian coffee is Kopiku in SF (but that is so far!) I ended up ordering a Klepon which is an espresso based latte with coconut milk, Pandan syrup made with palm sugar, coconut flakes! This had such distinctive flavoring that played homage to south East Asian flavors and was so comforting, especially when it was served hot. I love how balanced the pandan and palm sugar was. It wasn't too sweet at all! I am eager to try more flavors here. Service was fast and quick and only took max 10 minutes to get my drink even with a line. This review is for the location on San Carlos Street. We visited during the soft opening and were so delighted!! We walked from a nearby neighborhood with a group of 6 plus a newborn baby. Vibe: We ordered and sat down at the tables in the back. Along the back hall there is beautiful Indonesian art on the wall by little standing tables, and behind the back tables beautiful tapestries. The aesthetic is clean, calming, and uniquely Indonesian (I believe they shipped many of the furniture and decor from Indonesia). Family friendly: My favorite part of the physical cafe set up (as a nursing mom) was the baby feeding nook! I was able to tuck in and use the chair and hook the (very cute ) curtain closed to really give my baby a proper feed instead of messing with nursing covers. It was a really nice experience and not one I've had at any other cafe or public space. There is also a diaper changing station in the bathroom. These are surprisingly rare and I've noticed most Starbucks in the area do not even have them. Drinks: Of course the drinks are amazing! If you've been following Hijau since their farmers market days you know this. I did try their pandan matcha (iced w oat milk) for the first time today and it was sooooo good. So excited a new cafe opened up in this corner and that it's a new small business owner! My husband and I have always wanted to attend their popups but it never worked out so we were very happy to see this spot open up walking distance from our house! I visited today during their first day of soft opening right before they closed and was the only customer with my 2 kids. The owner opened the door for me both entering & exiting which was very kind because navigating with a double stroller can suck (iykyk). Their soft opening menu didn't have everything they'll offer once fully opened but the owner was gracious enough to let me order a pandan soda to take back home for my husband. I ordered a pandan matcha latte with oat milk and it was delicious! Not too sweet but just enough pandan flavor that didn't get lost with the milk and matcha. The cafe itself is very pretty with couches, counter seating and tables. I loved the touches of Indonesian culture and my daughter spent a few minutes flipping thru the books they had open on one of the coffee tables. I got a heads up from my friend in the neighborhood that a new Coffee House had opened up in place of where Starbucks used to be, the corner of San Carlos and Meridian. I drop by the Walgreens catty corner and sometimes eat at the Breakfast Club next door. So I was eager to check it out. Great decorations, seating spots, WiFi and general music in the background. It says it's still in Soft Open mode, but pretty complete for my needs. I decided that I deserved a unique taste this morning and ordered their "Nastar Latte" I was pleased that the fellow behind the register volunteered the WiFi password when I ordered for here -- above and beyond most other places and a simple added touch to feel that I was seen. I couldn't resist adding in a pastry, since I knew I'd need my strength boosted to provide an in-depth review. Super yummy coffee stand at the farmers market! It was their last service at the DeAnza farmers market because they are opening up a store front in a few months, which I will definitely be visiting! The baristas were super friendly. They have very unique drinks, a friend got their pandan latte which had very strong but not super sweet pandan taste. I got their melattea which as a latte with jasmine tea syrup which was absolutely delicious! I've had a couple of drinks here at the DeAnza Farmers Market. I tried their iced matcha latte with oat milk and the iced klepon latte. In my opinion, the klepon latte was a bit better than the matcha latte. The matcha latte was a bit weak. It seemed to be mostly oat milk flavor with very little matcha. Menu description: Klepon latte [vegan]: espresso * coconut milk [no sub] * house-made palm sugar-pandan syrup * coconut flakes garnish I like the latte, but I felt like the pandan and coconut flavors didn't really come through, due to the prominent espresso flavor. Not a huge deal, but I wish the pandan had more of a presence. All of the staff are super friendly, and I do think that the lattes are high-quality, but I would not get the matcha again. I found it a bit strange that they didn't put the cup lid on for you, especially since there was a long line in a small area and it was difficult to get the lid on while feeling rushed. Also, there's a small $0.75 charge for oat milk, which I don't mind too much, but when paying an uncharge I'd appreciate more non-dairy milk options. Overall, good coffee and vibes. read more

This stand located at De Anza College Farmers' Market. I sell coffee, matcha and also some Indonesia sweet/dessert. The one interesting coffee they have is the Wedang (Wedang jahe is a traditional Indonesian hot beverage) coffee which is usually mix with tea. It is unique as the coffee has some spice taste. The matcha is pretty good. I wish they have other Indonesia coffee like coffee with Brown sugar(Gula Aren) as this is more authentic and kind of very famous and common coffee mix in Indonesia. The service is pretty quick and it is nice to have some Indonesia coffee stall around as one by one Indonesia specialty coffee store close. I noticed this coffee stand because of the crowd of people standing in front of it waiting for their coffee every Sunday morning at the farmer's market. I was always wondering if the coffee was really that good. Finally, I couldn't resist my curiosity and decided to give it a try. I ordered the seasonal special drink, the Wudang Latte. Wow -- I really liked the taste! It had a strong ginger flavor mixed with the aroma of coffee and the sweetness from the syrup. First off, this coffee is STRONG! I don't drink coffee normally so this straight up kept me up all night. This place is also really popular at the De Anza farmers market, so they may run out of certain drinks. I got there at around 11:30 ish and the guava matcha and another roasted corn (?) drink were gone. Would definitely want to try the guava matcha at some point. There was a short line that moved quickly. The staff were friendly and service was quick. I ordered a panda latte and the pandan flavor was great at first, but it quickly got overshadowed by the coffee flavor and completely disappeared after a few sips. I would've liked the pandan flavor to stick around a bit more. Halfway through the drink, it just felt like I was drinking a regular sweetened iced latte. read more

I was excited to try this place out once I saw videos on Instagram! This was my first time at the farmer's market and there were lots of parking spots. It was busy ~10 am but that was no problem. I ordered all of the signature lattes and I do not regret it. The pandan latte had a smooth flavor. Usually with pandan flavored things you can tell it's slightly artificial and too sweet but this was delicious. I believe they make their own syrups with the pandan leaf and even top all of the pandan coffee drinks with the leaf. The nastar latte was an unexpected treat but the subtle pineapple flavor was incredible and unique. It doesn't taste too sweet like pineapple juice but spiced slightly to offset the sweetness. It was delicious and refreshing. The klepon had a nice coconut addition to the pandan latte. With some southeast Asian pandan treats there's usually a coconut flavor added. This drink reminded me of the filipino dessert buko pandan. I loved it. Overall the drinks were delicious, the staff was very nice, and the experience was great.
