    Big Plate Chicken/大盘鸡(送份皮带面1份)

A friend recommended this place, and it completely lived up to the hype! We arrived right when this place opened on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant quickly filled up. My boyfriend ordered the big plate chicken and I got the beef laghman. Let me just say, we thoroughly enjoyed our food! We big plate chicken is huge, and my boyfriend ordered extra noodles to eat with the leftover. The beef laghman is also extremely flavorful. The tomato in the beef laghman sauce really helped to balance out the flavors. I would love to come back here to try other items.

Came with my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. My friend suggested this place because she had been on a mission trip to Xinjiang, China in the past and wanted to share a taste of that time with us. She said the food was very authentic Uyghur. We all enjoyed the hardy meal in a casual setting. Cumin Lamb is always good, cannot go wrong with this combo. Big Plate Chicken had 2 kinds of wide, long noodles, tender chicken with bones, and potato. Fish Soup with Sauerkraut also had 2 kinds of noodles, and also all kinds of veggies like wood ear and cabbage, and also tofu and fish balls.

Came here with friends on a Saturday night. It was pretty packed when we got here, with lots of people coming in to eat. We waited about 30 minutes for a table for 5 to open up. I'd expect to wait if you come here with a big party. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side. When we sat down, the waitress gave us a kettle of tea. We ordered everything from our phones. We settled on the big beef plate, lamb skewers, stir fried noodles, beef rice noodles, lamb dumplings, and cold black fungus mushrooms. The stand outs were definitely the lamb skewers, lamb dumplings, and the big beef plate. The lamb was crispy with good flavor and the perfect amount of fat. They are definitely a little pricey but very worth it. The big beef plate had tender meat, soft hand pulled noodles, potato, and bell pepper. The broth was very flavorful, but we weren't given bowls so we couldn't drink it properly. The lamb dumplings were chewy and not too gamey. I don't see a lot of lamb dumplings, so I enjoyed this. The next best dish was the stir fried noodles. They had good Szechuan flavor and chewy noodles. The beef rice noodles were really saucy and herbal. I still liked them, but they weren't my favorite. I liked the black fungus mushrooms because it was a nice contrast with the other dishes. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. I'd HIGHLY recommend the lamb skewers and big beef plate!

Got the Stir Fried Noodles to go. Good, garlicky, spicy, umami, with hint of sesame. Well seasoned slices of beef. Like that they did not skimp on the beef slices. Generous amount of green onions. They no longer serve udon noodles so this dish had hand pulled noodles which was good, al dente and very well coated with chili oil and garlicky. May seem pricey at $26, including tax, but they were generous with the beef slices and other ingredients. Waited about 15 min for the food. Staff were nice. Small dining room but felt relaxed and cozy.

Too expensive for portions. Not sure if I'd come back. Food was generally quite salty. Although the noodles have good texture/chew, I wish the portions were a little bigger for the $25 price. I guess it's fair when compared to small Italian dishes, but the ambiance also isn't there if the dishes aren't bigger imo. Good spicy oils, nice garlic and onions.

Beef Spicy Rice Noodles and Cumin Lamb with Naan

A popular spot for Xinjiang cuisine. Be prepared to wait, even if you get there at 8 PM on a Saturday. Besides the traditional big plate chicken and laghman, they also offer their own unique takes on the cuisine. We got the spicy beef rice noodle and cumin lamb with naan. The rice noodle was moderately spicy and pretty tasty, though more vegetables would make it even better. The fried naan is really special: golden-brown crispy croutons made of naan, stir-fried in a delicious cumin sauce with tender lamb.

The food here is soo good! We got the stir-fried noodles, chicken rice noodles, and lamb dumplings. The noodle dishes were so flavorful and the noodle texture is sooo good because they are hand-pulled. The dumplings are fried so well and the inside is so juicy! I will definitely be back.

Most of the items on their menu is yummy but really greasy. But if greasiness is not an issue for you, I recommend the cumin lamb with naans, really flavorful with crunchy croutons type of naans. The beef noodles is also flavorful with simple ingredients like garlic onions and bell peppers, but again the oil in it can be a bit too much for some people.

The Xinjiang rice noodles are absolutely delicious, and the lamb is one of their signature dishes. Both are highly recommended if you're visiting for the first time.

I saw recommendations from both Apple Maps' guide & XHS/Little red note about Tarim Garden and I really want to try their Big Plate Chicken so we picked a weekend evening to come here check it out, and I am glad we did! We ordered Big Plate Chicken and Cumin Lamb with Naan, both dishes were amazing! the restaurant is a bit small so it gets crowded quickly. But judging by the traffic, it seems like this place has a long history of attracting loyal customers, which is a great sign!

Today, I'm in Silicon Valley. I'm here at Tarim Garden Xinjiang Cuisine in Santa Clara this evening. Xinjiang is a region very close to Mongolia, and Kazakhstan. And I'm here for the Stir-fried Spicy Beef Rice Noodles, that's what they're known for. The Noodles were out of this World. The Noodles arrived scorching Hot straight from the Wok, I really like how the Sauce is bright Red, it was cooked Al dente, I like how the strands were thick and reminded me of Udon, it was packed with flavor, and had some Heat to it, kinda Spicy. It was one of the best Noodles I've ever had, it really was. It taste authentic. I was thinking this was going to be a 3.9-4.3 stars, but I give this 4.4 stars out of 5 stars. It was Fire. It was Smack.

This place was really solid, i cant quite figure out the food but regardless it was super flavorful. I got the beef noodle which was thick noodles and the spices they added were strong but i was sharing with my friend, so I couldn't make it too spicy. The meat was tender and the sauce was addictive. I am not too sure how to describe it except savory. The lamb skewers were so good, the spices they added helped take away the gaminess of the food and makes u wanna go back for more. The food here was so good and i regret not getting the potato beef rice because that potato had so much flavor to it.

Checked out this little gem in Santa Clara featuring Xinjiang cuisine. Big thanks to my friend for the recommendation! The restaurant isn't very large. We got there around 8 p.m., and it was still packed. We ordered some of their signature dishes, and they did not disappoint. My hands-down favorite was the cumin lamb with naan -- highly, highly recommend! Their noodle and dumpling dishes were also delicious, especially with a bit of chili oil. YUM!

I would not have known about this place if it wasn't for the reel. I'm also not familiar with Syrian and Lebanese cuisine. Thought I'd give it a shot. Not the biggest of venues, it a bit small on the inside, they have few benches and tables outside. Parking wasn't an issue, plenty of spaces in the parking lot. Unfortunately, the chicken and beef were lacking in flavor and were pretty dry. The portions were generous, though the gyro beef was sliced pretty thin. The veggies were actually fresh, which was a plus. The hummus was on the lighter side flavor-wise, while the Baha Ghanouj had a solid roasted aftertaste. The Achilles spread was... interesting. It was very fatty with a garlic aftertaste. It just wasn't my thang. The waffle fries were cool. They were fried well and had a good crunch, but nothing special. The falafel, though, was pretty disappointing. I'm not sure if I just got a bad batch. They were very crunchy, but had a weird dish-soap aftertaste that I couldn't get past. Hella yummy Palestinian food in the Bay!…read more I've heard of Holyland but finally had the chance to dine there for a weekend lunch. These days it's always at the front of my mind that food spots that call themselves "Middle Eastern" or "Mediterranean" truly divulge who is the owner and chefs are. I'm talking about only eating from restaurants that can name the country their food comes from be it Falasteen, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the list goes on. Holyland is located in the industrial part of Santa Clara, and they boast lots of interior seating (great for large parties and group meals) and also run a catering service. So there's loads of parking and plenty of space. My friend and I were hungry, so I got the lamb kofta and he had the beef plates. We were SO happy. It comes with a light tangy salad, delicious hummus with a kick of spice, a bed of delicious yellow rice and slender pita bread. They also have serve-yourself hot cardamom tea which is so delicious and perfect. They also serve a bunch of other refrigerated drinks like Salaam Cola and kefir. The mezze plate with x4 different dips looks so yummy, I would get that next time with a large group to share. Will definitely head back with a larger group. We saw other diners from couples, to solo to large families eating. The interior could use some sprucing up, but the quality of the food, staff, and authenticity of the place is #1. Delicious. Meyhouse Sunnyvale -- Excellent Food, but the Service Pacing Could Be Much Better…read more I tried the $44.95 three-course prix fixe lunch and chose the Köpoğlu as my meze, upgraded the main to the Adana Kebab for $3, and added the Künefe for $2. The food was the strongest part of the experience, and several things stood out more than I expected. The complimentary bread was excellent--warm, fragrant, and nicely textured. I also really enjoyed the green herb sauce served with it. The parsley and mint flavors were quite pronounced, almost grassy, but in a good way. It was fresh and aromatic and worked very well with the bread. The Köpoğlu was one of the highlights of the meal. The roasted eggplant, tomato sauce, garlic yogurt, and olive oil were very well balanced. I especially liked the garlic yogurt--the acidity, garlic, and creaminess were all present without any one element overpowering the others. The tomato added sweetness and acidity, while the olive oil rounded everything out. It was especially good with the bread. The Adana Kebab was also very good. My first bite came from the end of the skewer and was slightly dry, but once I got into the center, the meat was noticeably juicier. The char from the grill was excellent, and the lamb had a clear lamb flavor without being gamey. The chopped red pepper mixed into the meat also added another layer of aroma and flavor. Even the rice surprised me. It looked like plain white rice, but it was flavorful enough to eat on its own, with a noticeable buttery, almost milky aroma. The flatbread underneath the kebab was also very good after soaking up some of the lamb juices and fat. If I had one criticism of the main plate itself, it would be the proportion of onion-tomato salad to meat. The salad tasted fine, but for my preference, there was a little too much of it. I really enjoy the lingering flavor of grilled lamb, and while the rice and bread help carry that flavor, the raw onion and tomato act as a strong palate cleanser and erase it quickly. Since the meat portion was relatively small compared with the rice and salad, I would personally prefer a little more kebab and a little less salad. The Künefe was another highlight. I really enjoyed the contrast between the crispy kadayıf on the outside and the soft, warm cheese inside. The pistachios on top were not something I particularly enjoyed by themselves, but mixed together with the cheese, syrup, and crispy pastry, they made much more sense. The first few bites, especially the areas that had not absorbed too much syrup, were excellent. Toward the center it became a little sweeter than I prefer, but overall I still liked it very much. Food-wise, I would actually give Meyhouse a slight edge over Dishdash. There were more layers and more small details to notice throughout the meal, from the bread and herb sauce to the Köpoğlu, Adana, rice, flatbread, and dessert. The service, however, did not match the level of the food. The restaurant was quite quiet at lunch, but the pacing was surprisingly rushed. I had barely started eating the Köpoğlu when the main course arrived. For a menu specifically presented as a three-course prix fixe, I expected the courses to be paced more deliberately. Instead, I had to choose between continuing to enjoy the appetizer and eating the kebab while it was still hot. There was also an issue with clearing the table. One staff member who was not the person taking my order repeatedly tried to remove my bread and the green herb sauce. The first time, I specifically asked him to leave the sauce. Later, after I finished the main course, he came back and again started clearing both without asking. I told him I wanted the bread to go, so he left the bread, but still removed the herb sauce. It was a small detail, but it made the service feel mechanical rather than attentive to what the guest had already requested. Overall, I would rate the food around 8.5/10 and the service around 6.5-7/10. Meyhouse is a little more expensive than Dishdash, but the prix fixe lunch is also very substantial. I only ate about half of the complimentary bread, and I was already quite full after the main course. Finishing the Künefe left me completely stuffed, so the portion size is definitely generous. I would still come back. Next time, I would probably try the Ahtapot, especially since it is only a $9 upgrade on the prix fixe compared with $25 à la carte. The food gives me a reason to return; I just hope the pacing and attention to small service details are better next time.

But this is not on the place, they are actually really fresh, it's because that other person requested very basic salads and I got me the same. I'm sure other salads are great. Now on to the wrap. I didn't see any reviews or photos on the wrap, let's change that. I got 2 wraps: 1 Blazing Bird and 1 Date Delight (for someone else). He did not like his for some reason, but I cant' say much because I didn't try it. I got the blazing bird and it is honestly one of the best wraps I've had. It is good, crunchy and their sauce that comes with it is yummy too. I first saw it and thought, WOW, this is big, but I ate it all. The only thing I would say is it could use a little more chicken. This is probably why I was able to finish it, it did lack some chicken. I also got the bone broth and that is also very delicious. Overall the wrap is a 4. It would be 5 if it had more chicken. I will still get the wrap and bone broth again.

It's like a cross between a western style bbq joint and a middle eastern twist with its meats and food. Turns out, this place is mainly an Afghan restaurant! It's half eatery half a butcher shop for people to come and purchase fresh meats for some home cooking. In fact, I watched a lot of people coming in and ordering meats to go. I ordered their chili lamb kabob which was tender and juicy. It had lots of flavor from the spices but enough to where it wasn't overwhelming. I ordered it on top of a pillow of rice which was fluffy and buttery textured. It was delicious. There are sauce bottles to pair with the meats which is my favorite part. I really liked their white creamy yogurt sauce mixed with their red house chili sauce. It gave my lamb meat so much flavor and some heat. I loved my order and will definitely order two next time. I also want to try their steaks. They take their time grilling their meats so orders can take a short while. It's worth it for sure. No complaints here but I do wish they played some light music in the background for some ambiance. Things can be real quiet in here so it can be awkward dining in. Other than that, I really like this place and will be back for more.
