Only a few minutes from my house, but honestly feels like stepping back into a simpler time. Like…read morewhen you're little and walking into a cozy little kitchen-type place with your family. You walk in hungry and leave happy and satisfied. The food is seriously so good. Their roasted garlic noodles (you can get it dry or as a soup) are amazing, and the chicken curry is another favorite. Everything tastes fresh and you can actually taste the ingredients, not just the seasoning. The dining area is small, quaint, and has such a cozy feel. The service is always warm and welcoming. One of those hidden gems that just feels special. Great food, affordable prices, and a place you'll want to keep coming back to.

Food here is great! But there are other things that stop me from coming back…read more I've tried most of the curries and a good amount of appetizers and other dishes. My favorite is the coconut curry chicken noodle soup! As amazing as delicious as the food was, a lot of it is pretty oily, esp the curries. I've had to scoop out spoonfuls of oil. Or when I take home left overs, I will put it in the fridge for the oil/fat to solidify and then scoop it out. Tealeaf salad is one of my favorite salads of all time but, it is a hit or miss - sometimes it's on point but a few times have been too salty. Over the years, it has gotten painfully expensive for the portion sizes they serve. Some dishes even cost more, but sides were taken out. You basically are paying more for your dish, but for less food than before the price increase. Tealeaf salad is now a whomping $17!!! In the 3 years I've been coming here, there have been 2-3 price increases. As much as I loved coming here, sadly, I do not think that it is worth it anymore.

A bit of a late post, but we had our wedding dinner here in December. The event was last minute as…read morethe goal was to have my mom join before she couldn't anymore, so this was incredibly meaningful. We kept it small and intimate (12 people) and Michelle was absolutely fantastic with answering all my questions and making sure everything went smoothly. We reserved a portion of the outdoor area with a few dividers, and the staff were kind and accommodating. The family loved the food - in fact, it was the first time I had seen my mom eaten so much in a very long time. The noodles were my favorite :) We had come here a few times before and all were great times, but very special shout out to the staff here. Thanks for making that evening special for me, my husband, and our family.

The Balado (short ribs) and Ayam Rica Rica (chicken) are so delicious! The chicken was soaked in some kind of red sauce that I mistook it as spicy. It actually just had a slight hint of a kick but the tomato-based sauce is deeply immersed into the chicken thigh meat. The meat is so tender and juicy and full of flavor. The Balado is the same. It's not spicy at all despite a very red looking sauce. The meat comes in big chunks but they are easily peelable. It's very satisfying to take in the delicious proteins. We also have a Garlic Nooodle on the menu and turns out that's the least favorite dish. Although I like the amount of mushrooms on it, it lacks any hint of garlic flavors and most importantly a spice was used on it that doesn't seem fitting. I couldn't nail it down whether it's basil leave or some kind of herbs, but it destroys the impression of garlic noodle completely. Someone also complained that the noodle is too sweet. I'm less offended by that but really disappointed by that herb mix. We also had the Gado Gado with veggies only and it has fried tofu and cucumber and peanut sauce. It's ok but slightly too bland for me. However, the shrimp chips are delish and divine! Overall the good credits of the meat dishes brings up the entire rating.

We had a variety of veggie dishes: the yellow pea fried tofu is a must have: the chili sauce it comes with understated, and the "tofu" slices themselves melt in your mouth like custard, unlike any tofu we've had. The samosa soup was also off the hook delicious--savory and tangy, and our other dishes: tea leaf salad and palata bread were quite good. Were burmese fans and highly recommend!

We came here for an early dinner, and ordered: +Palata - served with coconut chicken; you can opt to sub for vegetarian curry or lamb curry +the Burmese Pad Thai - prepared with rice noodles, red bell peppers, onions, baby bok choy, cabbage, peanuts, bean sprouts, and scrambled egg; you can opt for chicken, tofu, shrimp as a protein option, so we went for the shrimp +the Country Style Beef Curry - slow-cooked with onions, garlic, potatoes, lemongrass, and spices +and, Mango Shrimp - tossed with basil, fresh mangoes, onions, and mango puree; served with fresh mango Portions were on the smaller end, and it seemed as if we were getting sampling/tasting plates.
