I will never ever ever ever go back to this campground!! Went with two friends and two dogs. We paid $60 for three nights on Memorial Day weekend. Which isn't that bad I will admit. But the campsite is horrible. Tent sites are very small. Your neighbors tent is right next to you with nothing to separate your space. There was a big pile of yard waste right behind our site that wreaked. Kind of got used to the smell after a while. Quiet time and "lights out" is midnight. I arrived about 9pm, set up the tent, started a fire and sat down to have a few beers. Around 10:30pm our neighbor complained that we were being too noisy. No screaming or belligerent yelling involved but because our tents are about 6 ft. apart, we were being too loud. So, the camp "guard" came over and stood at the end of our site and told us it was time to go to bed. Really?? Not midnight yet mind you. We stayed up for a little while longer, went into the tent and continued talking amongst ourselves. Again, Mr. Camp "Guard" came over, leaned over our tent (which had no cover because it was warm out) and proceeded to tell us that we needed to go to sleep or the cops were going to be called and we would be escorted out. So, we packed up the next morning to find a new site. When my friend called the campground in the first place she asked if there were refunds if we stayed only one night and the woman assured her that we would be refunded. But, when we checked out, no refunds. $40 wasted. So, if you want to go camping to have a good time, DON'T STAY HERE!! Lol read more

I will never return to this campground. The people are nice enough, but the camping is the worst I have ever experienced. If you like ZERO privacy and the noise of a busy highway lulls you to sleep, this may be the campground for you. Not to mention a giant, really bright nightlight (aka a street lamp) will definitely be over top of your tent all night long. When I first called to make a reservation I was told I could not check in after 9pm. This made it very difficult as the drive to Seaside is about a 6 1/2 hour drive. Previous engagements took until 2:00 the afternoon we were planning on leaving. Long story short, we were terribly rushed to get there in time for check-in. After we checked in we were directed toward the "tent area." This area is a joke. The sites are big enough for a couple tents, but the spaces are lined out in chalk across a big open lawn. Which, in their defense, I was told when I spoke to someone on the phone. But I don't think anything could have prepared me for this. The highway was a very busy one. The longest break in traffic was about 10 seconds long, and that was only because the ambulance...and firetruck...and cop cars that flew by made everybody pull over. After we were ready to accept that traffic would probably never die down, we heard a very large motor home approach. They then proceeded to hook everything up and allow their children to run and scream. This happened at 11:00 pm. Definitely after the latest check-in and quiet time. We made up our minds that night that we wouldn't be spending another one there. We found a very nice campground in nearby Cannon Beach (look-up Sea Ranch Resort...it's pretty much awesome). When we first checked in at Buds we paid for two nights up front. And when we decided to leave early we hoped we could get our second night refunded. What we didn't realize is that there are multiple places that state "no refunds." But with quite a bit of badgering and threatening to write the worst review ever, they finally agreed and refunded our second night. I honestly felt kinda bad for the poor girl. If you really want to stay here still, I recommend paying for ONE night and trying it out before you commit yourself to something you may regret. As I said earlier, the people are nice as can be. Showers and bathrooms are really nice and clean and you need a key. The store serves hot breakfast and seemed to have a little bit of everything. Good luck and happy camping! read more

We've stayed here twice now. The other reviews are very accurate, this campground is definitely a terrible one... That being said, we actually don't mind it. We get a little tent site and enjoy a nice campfire after an evening of clam digging. It's pretty quiet in April when we stop in. The customer service is great, they even had info on the tides for us! Overall, if you're looking for a cheap place to stay and not looking for the full camping experience, this place is great! Store has everything from popcorn and marshmallow sticks to clam guns and licenses. 23.95/night for a tent site. I'd suggest asking for site 4,5, or 6 so you're not under the street lamps. Also, it's immediately next to a Chinese restaurant and lounge. Nice for a night of drinking with no chance of a DUI ;). read more

As a local I stop there on my way home from work for a beer and lotto tickets I am hoping to find a different place to stop with customer service that's not rude or ungratful for your continuous business. Seems that every time we stop there the one blonde women behind the counter is to bothered to check us out, no smile, no hello, no thank you. I have work for many years in Customer service and at stores her rudeness is beyond the worst so I couldn't ever imagine staying at the campsite that's got to be just as bad. read more

We have been coming here for 25 years barring the last 3 because of illnesses. The first place we vacationed at was Buds when I awoke from a coma and was well enough to travel. The guy in the golf cart was so friendly and greeted us at the door..but inside the girl behind the counter was rude and actually turned her back on us while we were reminiscing. She is obviously in the wrong business. We did not feel welcomed. We returned the things we were going to purchase and left. We use to love it at Buds. We have made many memories here over the years...4 generations! Marriages,births and deaths in the last 25 years. We have shared them all with the Oregon coast and Buds. Sad ...we won't return! read more

We love this little campground!! It is so convenient to everything and the people working both the campground and store are awesome! The little store has everything g a person could want....with GREAT hot food and cold beverages. A superb wine selection too! read more

It is very clean and kept up. For older people who just want a place to sleep I think it's great! But the road noise is pretty loud and $50.00 a night is kinda ridiculous, this was a last minute reservation for us so beggars can't be choosers! The gentleman next door inquired about us using his chairs (I thought they went with our site). Well they were on our site, so $50.00 is buying us half a site. I dont think I'll go back. People were super friendly but but if you are used to a state park ....... this is not it! read more

I was told in my reservation that there would be no refunds. I was also told that there was only a chalk line between tent sites that were very spacest. Picnic tables move and so do tents. There were no tents side by side when I was there. I enjoyed the clean restrooms with hot showers. The store in front where you register has all kinds of things you could think of. You can get your shellfish license there for clamming and crabbing. I was impressed by the staff and I had an overall good experience there. I will come back.. read more

This is a very nice, clean, quiet and friendly little campground. The grounds are very well maintained and the shower facilities are EXTRA clean. They have a really cool little mom and pop store that is well stocked with almost everything and the staff was exceptionally friendly. We were especially appreciative of the fact that the owners do not tolerate rude obnoxious and inconsiderate behavior, unlike many other campgrouds where there is no control over people who are loud and party all night. If your like us and are looking for a quiet, clean and friendly campground I highly recommend this place. read more

I called to stay in a tent site. Person who answered the phone set me up with my reservation. Told me all rules and what to expect when I got there. Made it clear to me that the store closed at 9pm and I needed to be there before then. It is a small campground with just 9 tent sites. Bathrooms were wonderful. Clean, warm and worked. Laundry facilities were ok also. Store sold firewood for the fire pits. We were very comfortable with the park. All grass in back of park. We were able to park our car upon the grass by out tent. Very nice neighbors in adjacent tent site. We will definitely come back again. You are in the middle of Astoria and Seaside so you can go anywhere you like. read more
