My husband and I had a great breakfast here! It's a small shop/restaurant. There's seating at a bar and then at a window counter. We ordered: -avocado toast -egg white omelette w/veggies -breakfast potato's -side of jamón - fruit smoothie -iced chai with almond milk Everything was made fresh to order. The staff was friendly and spoke English very well. There is very sparse indoor seating (maybe like 9 seats by the bar and then 4 seats by the window). It is first come first serve. This place was really good! Not your authentic Puerto Rican food if that's what you're looking for. Service was great. There was some seating but not a lot. It's a small market/ deli, so you can buy snacks and what not while you explore the island. I had breakfast here. They were open really early. I got fresh squeezed orange juice and a bagel platter that came with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, cucumbers, onions and a bagel. I also had a cold brew coffee. It's not quite like the bagels in NYC, but it really hit the spot. I would go back if I ever find myself back in Vieques. read more

This is a "one experience review", and it contrasts dramatically with the majority of other reviewers. But since my motto is to "be direct", here goes: Based on the look of the place online and the reviews, I expected it to be a 5 star review. My experience reduced it to 2 stars. We stopped by for espresso, everyone raved about their coffee and espresso. Sitting at the bar where all the drinks are made, I figured the espresso would be great, as they used illy coffee pods, so how could it be bad? Ordered a double, watched it being made. I think Kelley, our energetic barista, doubled the water and used a single pod. It was weak. And luke warm. Lost 1 star. Watched Kelley make iced coffees, spilling coffee on the area where she worked, wiping it up with the same dripping wet rag she used to wipe down the side of the glasses in which she over-poured the coffee. Sorry, that's gross and another star lost. Figured we would try a breakfast burrito as someone else was having it and looked great. It was, at best, mediocre. The "salsa" served on the side was only finely chopped tomatoes which lacked flavor and any zest. The burrito was stuffed with tasteless black beans. Sorry, this is Vieques. Puerto Rico. Where's the flavor, folks? Lost another star. While we were there, 3 different (apparently local North American seasonal residents) placed orders for a bagel lox and cream cheese. It seems to be popular with the non Vieques crowd who frequent Buen Provecho, and others have written about it in their reviews. I don't know if it's great, let's assume it is, but frankly, I don't come to Vieques to eat a bagel lox and cream cheese. To each their own. I got the impression this was a place for the tourists who feel more comfortable with the specialty foods they sell at exceedingly high prices, and the North American residents of Vieques who like to sit around the bar/counter and talk with others like themselves and chisme about whatever is going on. It had a certain clique feel about it. It serves a purpose, I'm sure of that, but if you're a tourist, I'd recommend you go elsewhere (eg, local color, folks), and strongly recommend they figure out how to make a double espresso in an Illy machine using a Illy pod the right way. And get rid of that filthy dripping rag used to wipe up everything. It's disgusting. read more

I LOVED this place. We had breakfast here once, and lunch here another day. I strongly recommend eating at the cafe at least once during your visit. We loved breakfast AND lunch. I had the avocado toast for breakfast, while my partner had the breakfast sandwich. For lunch, I had the Italian sandwich, while he had the BLAT sandwich. I've had a lot of Italian sandwiches, and theirs was quite possibly the best one. I'm also not one to order avocado toast, but theirs was incredible. People are so friendly, and service is excellent. FYI it's a cafe in the back of a cute little store. read more

Best non-Puerto Rican food I had in Vieques. Beware that they were out of many ingredients so a few dishes were unavailable. If you're looking to order something specific, I recommend asking before sitting down. The patio is clean, warm, and welcoming. The service was friendly and prompt. VERY PRICEY for simple breakfast and lunch food. Be prepared to spend dinner prices. read more

We are staying in Esperanza and went to Isabel II to go to the health food store. It was closed, so we wandered around and found Buen Provecho, and I'm so happy we did. I'm a vegetarian and also gluten free, so finding a good meal can be hard. I had the chef salad without the meat (with eggs and cheese, not vegan). The produce was fresh and delicious. My wife said her breakfast burrito was delicious too--she omitted the chorizo & bean mixture to make it vegetarian as well. It wasn't gluten free though, so I didn't try it. After that we bought enough groceries for a few days. This seems to be the best place in town to get fresh fruit--we got a pineapple, limes, and a grapefruit. They had nice looking vegetables too, but we didn't buy any of those because we already had bought some at the supermercado. We also bought gluten free pasta and gluten free crackers, some nice cheese, some corn tortillas, and some basmati rice. Everywhere else we shopped so far only had wheat flour tortillas, so I was pretty happy to find the corn ones here. For whatever reason, we arrived there during the lesbian/gay lunch hour. In addition to my wife and myself there were two other lesbian couples and one gay couple having lunch. So that was nice too. All in all, a friendly (and LGBTQ friendly) nice place with a small but delicious menu with gluten free and vegetarian options, a very nice bar, and a nice selection of groceries that are hard to find elsewhere on the island. We're on the island for a week so I'm sure we'll go back for another couple of visits before we leave. read more

Was looking for a nice breakfast place with my sisters as it was our first day on the island. We walked in and the place looked nice. We waited about 2 minutes before someone came to help us. She took our order and afterwards told us that there was an Art Museum directly next door we could visit while our food was prepared which seemed fine. We came back maybe 8 minutes later and our food was done. We sat down and ordered some Chai Lattes. Food came out to be almost $40 which seems pricy for just three people getting two items each for breakfast. One of the Chai Lattes were made without milk so we asked for some milk with a different waitress which she seemed annoyed and would begin walking away while I was talking. Maybe she was having a bad day but at the same time, you want to make the customers feel like they are able to ask for anything and not feel like an inconvenience. Overall, I like the food, seemed fresh and tasted good but costumer service could be a little better. read more

A great spot. Some AMAZING coffee here and the guava oat bar was delish. Also enjoyed the salads but was a little underwhelmed by the sandwich. Really loved the woman who helped us at the bar, and we got some good snacks for the beach here. Lots of mainland US folks popping in and brands I recognized. Decent sized location, about a good 6 min walk from the ferry terminal, and just down the block from the local supermarket. Variety of organic, natural and delicious items. Tried the espresso fresh squeezed OJ, egg sandwich with sausage and pepper jack cheese, with a side of avocado. Also, the bloody Mary. The sausage is made by who I presume are the owners, soo good had a good kick to it! The bloody Mary was a little on the too spicy side. Bit pricey but if you want healthy light breakfast options, it is well worth it. Will def come back, and recommend to anyone visiting vieques. read more

This is a super cute restaurant/deli/market We dined around 2:30pm, their lunch special for the day was the veggie pizza and we were able to customize our pizza for our liking. We ordered one with mushrooms and red pepper and one with tomatos and pesto sauce! The pizza was delicious! Everything was fresh and made in house. The drink we ordered was called a Cucumber Collins and it was amazingly refreshing! The women that waited on us owned the place with her husband and she was extremely friendly with great conversation! Loved this place! read more

We have a rule that we try not to eat at the same place more than once on vacation. That said we had breakfast here three times, and also got sandwiches to go one day. The young lady that works the counter was very friendly as was the "Chef". Breakfast is simple, sandwiches, a breakfast burrito, other smaller things. Not so much a eggs and pancakes place. The food was great all three days, to include the sandwiches we took to the beach. The prices were reasonable as well. In terms of comparison and to break our rut we tried Joe's Coffee Shop which is the other breakfast place in town. I even ordered a burrito - not nearly as good. read more

But the food was worth it. He started with the soup du jour, which was a white bean ham and he said it was good. Finished it off no problem. We both got sandwiches on ciabatta bread, which was nice and soft. Not too heavy, little crisp on the outside. Perfect bread. Fresh. I had turkey with provolone, cucumbers, lettuce and Caesar dressing. It was all gone. He had tuna salad and said it was some of the best tuna salad he's ever had. A wonderful place for breakfast and fresh salads. They may have our favorite egg sandwich on the planet--homemade english muffin, runny egg, smoked bacon and cheddar. Christine, the server/bartender is super nice. The prices are slightly more expensive than some other places, but what you are paying for is quality and the freshest ingredients possible. If they aren't able to get what they need from the main island, they don't compromise quality just to sell you something. We are excited to have them start serving dinner. read more

Great deli and lunch spot in center of Isabel II. Breakfast and sandwiches are solid (don't miss the homemade roast beef!). Coffee is awesome. Only drawback is that it is pricey. But for me, it was worth the price to have that type of food and service. So spend a little more to get something good while you're there. read more

Very bad service and very basic food. 1) The waitress seemed to be upset that we wanted to order thirty seconds after we told her we needed more time. 2) She was condescendent as we tried to talk to the chef who was just a couple of feet from us. "Why are you talking to him?" She said. 3) She was very aggressive in her interactions with us, for instance we didn't understand her question about the eggs in the sandwich and she made a point to make us feel like we were stupid. 4) when we pointed out that we would like to be talked to like customers, she did not apologize or try to resolve the situation.
