This was my detour from the strip and wow - they have such cute stuff! I did a quick spin around and found a super soft leather jacket - dark brown, almost black -the interior was lined with a leopard print fabric - PERFECTION. I also found the cutest sheer top with customizable ruching in the front with cords that dangled down. The print on it was reminiscent of White Lotus Italy wallpaper intro. I've already worn it twice - once on top of a black turtleneck dress and then underneath an off the shoulder black sweater. The BEST find was probably a vintage reversible color block down filled vest which had a shogun-esque shape to it. Very retro, very cool - the collar also sits a little higher which makes it even cooler (and warmer). The interior which doubles as an exterior is black - with sweatshirt style pockets and a little yellow detail. The shogun-esque "sleeves" had snaps on them to change the shape a bit as well - this was probably my favorite thrift experience yet! Also the staff is SO nice. I visited this Buffalo Exchange since we were wandering around downtown and wandered in. The store is very appealing and inviting. There are lots of manquins that have such cute ensembles on that inspire of in their own clothing adventures. I was looking for a new sun dress, and while I did not find one I did pick up some capris. At only 7.00 it was such a steal, but the only issue that I had after wearing them only twice they ripped. But this is something that one has to contend with for buying used clothing. Overall it is such an eccentric and inspiring place to create new clothing memories. read more

Bad, and not Boujee. I was never impressed with any Buffalo Exchange anywhere in the United States, but I popped in here to see if they had any impressive Halloween costumes. I think their old recycled clothes are way overpriced! I saw an H&M shirt priced for $15, and it wasn't even vintage. WTF? I can get the same item on sale brand new at the retail store! The place is perfect if you need an outfit for a festival or dinner at a fancy restaurant. Always a good place to check out for the unique clothes and shoes not everyone will have. I love 80s & 90s style and they usually have some pieces likened to those decades if not actual vintage pieces at reasonable prices. The jewelry is especially quirky and trendy the way I like. I get many compliments on the earrings I bought from them. I was in there yesterday and got some cute half-moon shaped sunglasses and plan to return for the triangular style. There location is hard to find parking for during peek rush hours with all the traffic and construction nearby. I usually find a spot a block over and walk the short distance around. PARK ON WEST OR EAST CALIFORNIA AVE perpendicular to S Main where the store is located. You're more likely to find an open, legal spot and they're well lit thanks to the new construction. read more

I can see that this place would be really fun to shop at if you were say in your 20s or early 30s, to go out for the night. There were a lot of clothes, and everything was in decent shape. A lot of shoes of all types as well. Those tended to be a bit more worn out, but only some of them. I liked that the women's clothes and shoes were on one side of the store, while the men's was on the other. The place was really clean, and the clothes were separated nicely by size and type. My husband remembers shopping at the Buffalo Exchange many years ago. It is a fun, trendy albeit youn place. I found some cute flats that would go with my 60s look. They were brand new, so that was a plus. When paying for my shoes, we were told that this store is 'green'. They do not give you any bags for your purchases. Instead, they donate what money they would have spent on bags to three charities. I love this! I use my own bags anyway when I do my grocery shopping, and generally refuse a bag when getting one or two items anyway. She gave us this paper 'coin' to insert into one of three slots. Each one represented a different charity, along with their description. So upon leaving the store, we were able to choose the charity we wanted for our donation. What a great idea. read more

This is my first time here and I was very pleased walking in. The establishment is very artsy and actually pretty cool. It's like a really cool goodwill so to speak. I've never been to a consignment store so I didn't know what to expect but my expectations weren't high at all. As a reseller I'm always looking for ways to sell products. But this establishment doesn't recognize quality or brands. I brought in brands like DKNY, Calvin Klein, Vince Camuto, and even Free People. I wasn't expecting to get even half of retail value but I also was expecting to receive more. All my items where brand new in packages. Sealed in bags with tags on them. Again I am a reseller and my suppliers are big name department stores. As she's checking the items. I'm noticing that she's just ripping the bags open not being careful and just touching everything. Some of the stuff I brought were the same so why open every bag to see what it looks like? As she's going through the items she asks me if I have a receipt for proof of purchase of these products. Why? Did she assume that these items were stolen? Or is this company policy to ask for proof of purchase for brand new items. I looked in their website and brought in pretty much what they advertised they were buying this time of year. Scarfs, beanies, mittens, pretty much warm weather clothing. Well aparantly I brought in to many items of what they specifically requested. They ask to limit the items to 50 and under and I brought about 25 items. After she touched everything she rang me up and I asked how much she would take for a Calvin Klein scarf and she said well we already took a lot of your scarfs we won't be able to take anymore. Now I'm not sure if this is what's supposed to happen at a consignment store but when I bring in a brand new Free People Leather dress sealed in a bag I don't expect to recieve $16, I don't expect to be asked to supply proof of purchase and I don't expect these items to me mishandled. I did agree to sell these items pretty low because she just took everything out the bag and touched her nasty hands on them. But considering they paid me a few dollars over what I paid per item and that I was trying to offload products I guess it wasn't that bad. I think I would've had a better experience if It wasn't implied that these items were somehow stolen. Because it's like they don't expect people to have new items sitting in their closet. Like the dumb rule that if you shop around you get put in the back of the "line". Which is dumb for the simple fact that there is no line. It's just a bunch of people sitting or standing around until it's their turn. They don't take your name, give you a number or anything they just guess who's next. "Oh so the lady who dropped her 2 trash bags of clothes and stepped outside gets to go ahead of us cause we got up to shop around your store". I love to buy re-sale when possible. There's something so fun about going through a rack of a bunch of used clothing in hopes of finding that perfect piece. Since Buffalo is a chain and it's own staff with unique taste in choosing re-sale items, I feel like each store will have a sort of "vibe" to the clothes it has. I have been going to the Vegas Buffalo since it's original location on Maryland Parkway, and I've seen it change greatly over the years. My past multiple visits have been fairly 'so-so.' Staff is always super friendly! And the store is always clean. However, I rarely see as many of those "unique" items I once searched for. There are many more basic items. I also used to find a lot more boutique designers at this shop, however the majority of the clothes I see lately are from name-brand folk. I will certainly continue to see what they have in store! Update: I've sold here a few times since my initial review, and I've found that the experience varies wildly between employees - it really depends who you get at the counter. I don't mind if they don't take much. But most recently, two employees were at the buying counter, having a conversation the whole time, not acknowledging me at all, barely looking at the items because they were so busy talking, at times completely halting looking through the items in order to carry on their conversation. A shame, since my first experience was great and the ones in between were good. Also, in my experience they will buy anything from particular brands, e.g. Madewell. During my last trip, I took in some actual vintage and they didn't want it. Odd, since during that trip I noticed that they resell stuff from Amazon. read more

It was my first time exchanging anything at Buffalo Exchange. I parked down the street, cause unfortunately there wasn't any parking available right in front of their shop. So there I was carrying two very heavy bags of clothes (let me just say as I write this review my arms feel like spaghetti). I get to the front counter & im totally winded and the Manager on duty asked if I had an appointment. I unfortunately had no idea that I needed to make one, but totally makes sense with Covid. I told her no, I wasn't aware. She said "don't worry, if you want to hang out for a bit I can see if someone doesn't show up to their appointment." Which worked out great cause I had intentions to shop anyway. Her name was Alexis (and I really appreciate you not turning me away, if you're reading this lol) so I'm left my bags with her & began shopping around, I went into the dressing room and another manager came in & politely said "hello, if you're the girl who walked-in to sell, I am going to begin sorting now, if that is okay" and I yelled out "okay!! Yes thank you sooo much" I met back with them at the counter & they sorted my pieces. I noticed they picked out more of my hubby's clothes than mine (I am assuming men are less likely to donate / trade) but once she was completed I earned $76 cash! The amount was a lot more in store-credit but I decided to purchase two items, a cream blazer from H&M & some high-waisted Levi's jeans, and take the rest in cash! Overall it was a great experience. They have a wide variety of clothing, shoes, bags etc! I also do believe they are great at sorting cause all the pieces in their store are pretty unique & quality! PROS: ========= -I've actually found a couple cute things (although it's a rare occasion considering 99% of their stock is CRAP.) So, if you have high end, incredibly picky taste like myself, I would visit frequently. Since the employees request items to hold for themselves, it kind of f---- it up for the customers. But - if you go on a good day & have a few hrs to kill, you just might get lucky. -The staff there was pretty nice & helpful. I even got a discount on some damaged jeans. (Which is pretty fair considering most of their merch is heavily worn & falling apart). -The store has a lot of potential & could be super cute if it was properly managed & CLEANED better. CONS: ========== -No bathrooms. Not sure how I'm supposed to spend a couple hours here shopping when I have to leave the store & go next door to that god awful "rebar" just to take a pee. After leaving twice it just gets too annoying so I just quit shopping. Plus, the last time I did this the bar actually said the bathrooms are for "customers only" LOL (just one of the things I hate about DT Vegas.) -The last 2 times I visited, the store literally smelled like dog crap. NOT EVEN KIDDING OR EXAGGERATING. I even said it really loud so the cashiers could hear me & I had 3 people respond with "I KNOW RIGHT!" & "YEAH WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?!" LOL You want an "old vintage" tee that you could get on ebay or any other thrift store for $5? That'll be $10-$15. OR HOW ABOUT a heavily worn & soiled faux leather jacket that smells like an ash tray?? $45!!! Smh! It seems they'd rather sell the popular brands & more trendy styles (even if it's horrible quality & falling apart) than take in the high end designer brands??? I've DONATED clothing to goodwill that was in MUCH better condition than these "rags". You'd have much better luck finding something in a shorter amount of time by going to the Charleston outlet! Hell, Plato's closet might even be a better option. I haven't went in 10 years but this place will surely drive people there. Lol And just to give an example regarding their lack of knowledge & interest in nice clothing - I brought in 6 pairs of almost new diesel jeans, an armani suit, a ralph lauren dress jacket, a calvin klein suit, & a more "trendy" couture sweater. The girl offered me $8 for the "trendier" sweater (that I paid $80 for, mind you) but had ZERO CLUE or interest in the much better quality DESIGNER items I had! And I've brought clothes in just like this on NUMEROUS occasions, waited for 30 min, only to be offered less than $10. So how is it fair to offer your customers $8 for a sweater you will actually charge $25 for?? If the girl had ANY sense she would have offered me $20 & sold it in store for $40. That way, you're still making money on a great sweater AND your customer is happy! WIN WIN! Instead, they'd rather set this incredibly low standard by selling forever 21 & fashion nova GARBAGE they buy from their friends, while passing on the high end, designer brands that would actually help their business thrive. OR, if they do even accept your items they'll try to rob you for it. SMH! All I know is, if I ran this store I would donate 90% of that crap to a homeless shelter & start FRESH with only the best. I visited Buffalo Exchange on a whirlwind tour of the Arts District. I appreciated the pricing breakdown for the sale items (the end of the month is the time when markdowns are highest), and found a 50% off LuluLemon bra/top which I happy purchased. Sizing is a bit more on the juniors side, but I found a nice selection in the XS, S, M sizes. Some men's fashion too, but definitely more women's, which worked for me just fine. Lovely place. I usually donate stuff I don't want, but I figured I would give thrift selling a try. I brought 30 items and anticipated leaving with $10 - $15 dollars. Everything went smooth. The buyer explained the process and what she was looking for. I was a little surprised that I went 0 for 30 and they didn't want any of my items. She was very specific on what they are currently looking to buy, which is why I knocked one star off my review. The website implies they will take most things, but that's not really the case. I would highly recommend seeing of you can call beforehand to find out what they are looking for at the moment. Save yourself the drive and time hunting for parking. super disappointed in a store I've gone to for over 20 years. I took a Christian Dior Trench and a Kenneth Cole Reaction Suit new still in plastic. they tried to offer me $40 for the Dior in cash and $10 for the new suit. there is no way you weren't trying to get over on me and it was super clear. These prices are not deals they are strals. them trying to steal my Ulithi vintage fashion. online the Dior Trench is going for $280 at min so you wanted to profit more than the person who gave you the opportunity to sell. they bet on people being desperate to sell their items and get over. that's not a business model I want to be a part of. this location has done this every time and this was the last time I walked out and didn't mention the mess. then they quote one price you get to cash register it's something less. and if that wasn't enough the new employee Asian female try to be dismissive and literally watch me stand and wait for her to give me $10 while she acted like she didn't see me standing in for't of her at register. you can't just theow prices out at least let them be competitive I sell online often so I'm not trying to be anal about consignment prices. I'm very aware you need to make a profit too but giving someone $10 for a new Kenneth Cole is a insult and robbery. I politely grabbed my items and got the Fucc out of that robbery. I absolutely love buffalo exchange. I find myself coming time and time again. Sure sometimes it's a hit or miss but I think that has to do with how much I come. The selections are always good quality, high end or trendy. I've been coming for years and I've found everything from Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin So Kates for $100, Gucci, Ted Baker and so much more. A lot of people take offense to them not purchasing their stuff but at the end of the day this is A BUSINESS. They won't buy something that won't sell. I've taken in items that have been rejected and I'm happy to just donate if they don't take it. All in all I think this place is great! read more

I finally had the chance to come here over the weekend and loved it! It's located in the up and coming arts district of downtown and has a good amount of surrounding street parking. While there I found a few cute tops, shorts, sunglasses and a dress. I love their trendy yet unique styles of clothing and you can't beat the bargain pricing. I also loved the fact that they also donate back to charities instead of using plastic bags for purchases. I'll definitely be back again soon and hope to trade in some clothing next time. read more

"I wanna be like the cool kids?" I've sold clothes here, I've bought clothes and every time it's been super easy and comfortable. I can understand why a lot of people wouldn't enjoy this place, some of the workers here can be smug and can give "judgy eyes" when you walk up to the counter with your selections. Just remember you're dealing with college students and thirty something's that are still "figuring it out". Now smile and buy that retro windbreaker. This is a great place to stock up on t-shirts, shoes, and random clothing accessories; this is also a great spot for the lover of funky hats and or interesting headgear. Just a note, I would stay away from the pants here, I don't know why, but most of the pants cost about as much as they do at larger retail stores. As far as help goes, my customer service experience was great, the employees were conversational and very helpful.
