The employee I came into contact with at this Buffalo Exchange had dark hair roughly to her shoulders and bangs. She spoke to me demeaningly and made it clear that my style did not meet her approval. I was so bothered by her arrogant personality that I did not continue searching through the store and walked out. I came to this location yesterday evening, it was my first time selling my stuff. I had several MK, Coach items and a few things with tags on them. The girl that helped me started going through my stuff and when she was done told me that she could give me $7 for a $250 Brand New MK dress! I thought she was kidding! I highly doubt they were going to sell that dress for $20. Took a look around and most of the stuff they sell is forever 21 and cheap items like that. Oh also I had another MK wallet and she offered $7 for it as well. Anyone who knows anything about brands would know they are worth a lot more. We'll never again! If you want to see crappy cheap clothes, go there, other than that, might as well take it to goodwill. At least you'll get a tax write off! Don't waste your time. read more

I think there are some bad reviews, because people get offended when they do not buy there stuff. But Buffalo has to buy stuff that will sell it is nothing against your style! Everyone at this store has been super cool with me. I have never been one to match well and put together outfits.... I am a whatever jeans and t-shirt girl..so I asked the people who work here for help finding a cute outfit to meet my boyfriend's family for the first time! So one of the nice ladies who works there took her time in helping me find quite a few super cute outfits that she thought would look good on me. I ended up buying one she helped me pick out and it is still my favorite thing to wear on special occasions! (It has been about a year) Oh and and my boyfriend's family approved! If you are interested in recycling your clothes, you better be under 25! The buyers are young and only interested in clothing for a younger set. Over 25 - go someplace else. It doesn't even matter that they are designer names, current and in great condition - if your daughter wouldn't wear it, they don't want it. If a handbag won't go across your body they'll pass it up! Very cool place with extremely helpful staff. I took a bunch of totes full of clothes to sell. Sadly they don't take a lot of brands and nothing with logos, this store is more geared toward hipsters. However they took a few things and I walked away with $90.00 which is more than I've gotten at other stores. They are great because it's not consignment so there's no waiting, you just bring your items and they give you cash or store credit on the spot. read more

I've never tied to sell anything at a second hand store before. I took some nice things in, including two brand new sweaters that were unworn. They passed on everything without explanation, yet gave the guy in front of us $35 for some cheesy t-shirts and tank tops. I don't get it. Just came from Buffalo Exchange visited for the first time , a lot different then your ordinary consignment store . they had the cream of the crop clothing there a must go if you've never been . I found a really cute blouse and earrings that I'm going to. wear over the holidays that was reasonably priced . everyone there was very helpful and courteous. read more

I appreciate this place for its wide selection of clothing at cheap prices! I typically find something in here every time I come and dig through the racks, and my mom does as well! I recently found a cute Free People dress (originally $88) for $18 and an American Apparel open back halter one piece (originally $25) for $11. Both items had original tags attached. The staff is not consistent in being super nice but sometimes they are helpful. I have sold clothes to them on several occasions and am satisfied with the money I get back. Heads up though, they definitely have different styles they look for at different times of the year. Sometimes they need florals and sometimes they might want warmer clothes. Don't be discouraged if they don't take them, just take the leftovers to another consignment store just up the street! Also, bring a bag of you are hoping to buy something! read more

Customer Service was great - people behind the counter were very friendly and helpful - first time bringing in clothes to sell - a little nervous after seeing some of the reviews about how picky they can be about the clothes they take. I'm probably (no - I know I am) a little older than their usual customer base - but they took almost everything I brought in - and told me next time I clean out my closet to come back! Can I say, "WOW!" There are so many items you can find in this store that is unique, in great condition, and such a great price! I started to sell old clothing that I didn't wear anymore for store credit, and now my closet is full of great things! Not a day goes by that I wonder what I'm doing to wear, thanks to Buffalo! Visited this location this past Friday and spent far too much time waiting to sell some items. There was a long line of sellers and only two buyers, one of whom was moving quickly. The other buyer spent most of her time having a never-ending personal conversation with a seller. It took her at least 35 minutes to go through two bins of clothing. I have been there many times before and no one ever talked this much or moved this slowly. The other buyers have always been very pleasant and efficient. read more

We have been to just about every Buffalo Exchange on the west coast because it's that good. The only downside usually is a little bit of an elite air from the employees, still worth it in my opinion. However, this is the most laid back, genuinely nice group of employees working there! We even went twice while in town and both times (different employees) were the same! BTW, if you're selling, try not to take it so personal if they turn down your items, it's that "particular"ness that keeps the store easy to look through unlike most consignment stores. And yes the selection varies by region, that's part of the fun of Buffalo Exchange, I always find something great regardless. I went in to sell clothes today, I've sold clothes here a couple times before. This time I thought it was extremely strange that the buyer was a male. I normally know what the buyers are looking for and they buy almost everything I bring in. This guy was literally having a conversation with me, not breaking eye contact at all, and not even looking at my clothes. Just unfolding them and wadding them up into a pile. He didn't buy one thing from me. He bought a lot of stuff from my boyfriend on the other hand. I have a feeling he's just not as familiar with women's fashion. I'm sure this is a fun place to shop, but never think you can sell your old clothes here. I came here with two huge boxes of clothes thinking I can get something. Some of my items were Pink, Nike, Aeropostale, Vans, lots of name brand stuff. As she was searching my clothes I decided to look around and see what kinds of clothes they were selling. Lots of the same brands that I'm trying to sell. So I felt confident that they can find one item at least. After about 20 minutes, she said, "nope, we didn't find anything today." I couldn't believe it. She also said if I want I can leave my clothes here and they will donate them to goodwill for us. Since I was going to do that anyways and it saves me the hassle of carrying two boxes down the street I said yes. But best believe I'm coming back next week trying to see if they're lying to me and I see one of my old tops on the rack... read more

Buffalo Exchange is my favorite thrift store chain, if not my favorite chain of stores in general. I always find cute unique things at every location - from brand names (not anything designer or anything, more trendy youthful ones) to eclectic vintage. At this particular location my favorite find so far has been a pair of Jeffrey Campbell flatforms for $30, with a broken strap that cost $10 to repair, which would have run me at least $100 more if I had bought them new (I've seen at least two other pairs of JC's but they weren't my size unfortunately). The employees are always friendly, even to my dad when he comes in with me and talks with them while I shop. One thing I will say is that their prices can be all over the place sometimes. While I've never sold anything to a Buffalo yet, I have to say people that get mad about them not buying their stuff probably don't know what the stores look for. All you have to do is shop there enough and you'll see they aren't interested in things from Old Navy or well-used Coach purses, but rather fun vintage pieces and quirky modern brands. And of course they pay less than what they sell the items for, they have to make a profit! It isn't anything personal, but if they just bought every item of any quality they would be no different from Goodwill or Savers. read more

I had a wonderful experience shopping at this Buffalo Exchange during my recent trip to Ventura. I came in twice, and both times the staff were upbeat, friendly, and super helpful. This is something I've found to be true in the Pittsburgh location as well, so I think Buffalo Exchange is doing a wonderful job choosing their employees. The store was large, well-ornagized, and very clean. The sale section was well-marked and neat as well. On my two trips here I found a pair of practically unworn J. Crew Reid straight jeans and an adorable sundress for under $50. Both items will see a lot of rotation in my wardrobe going forward. I'm a huge fan of the Buffalo Exchange chain and will continue to seek out their stores whenever I'm in a new area. read more

Went in to sell clothes because I heard you can sell to them. I wish I read the reviews before coming again (I shopped here one time before and had an eh experience) I was really excited to sell my clothes to Buffalo Exchange had a bag of some very stylish clothes, the girl looked through my whole bag and said she couldn't take anything. I had dresses, shirts, and bottoms from Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, and a couple graphic tees. Yes they had been worn, but they were not too worn. I asked the girl why she didn't take any of my items and she said that they only took trendy items and that my items weren't trendy enough. I personally felt offended because that was my wardrobe. I wore those clothes and felt good in them. And you're telling me that my wardrobe isn't trendy? I don't know about any of you, but style will always outweigh the trend. If this is experience is going to happen at any other Buffalo Exchange's I don't want any business with that. I will be giving some of my "not-trendy" clothes to either my friends or donating to a good cause as I know most people will appreciate it instead of you Buffalo Exchange. read more

The employees are not very friendly. My family shopped for a long while with NO employee customer relation and then I came in with my dog and in a matter of minutes I had an EMPLOYEE come tell me, "Only service dogs were aloud." Well, sweetie. ....my dog is a service / companion dog for me. how dare she insinuate that he is not a service dog and not allowed us in your store. She never asked if he was a service dog, just assumed. Well I will never patronize your store again. To think that announcing that a dog was not allowed in your store and that it was more important then having a paying customer, is crazy.!!!! read more

We seriously love this place! For the women's clothing I've found a lot of expensive brand name jeans, jackets, and tops for a great price! So happy we found this place. Buffalo Exchange is a pretty chill place i love being able to get rid of my old shoes and and getting store credit to buy new ones. plus every month they mark a bunch of things half off. looking for that little red stamp is my mission. haha. All though i do get dissapointed when they pass on some of my stuff, but its ok they're just doin there job i guess.. The customer service is great for the most part.. Today they had the BEST selection of vintage dresses, all for under $24. I must have tried on 15 and had to settle on 4 to take home. The prices are excellent compared to similar dresses sold on Etsy. The staff was very nice as well. read more

I would not recommend wasting your time taking things to sell. Their buyer has no idea what he is looking at. Very young and I suppose the gender matters or is it just a job? I love to browse and shop here whenever I am in Ventura. This time I found the cutest shoes and T shirt! In fact, every time I shop here I find something! I also shop at the Buffalo Exchange in Santa Monica. Both shops seem to have similar items, some items are brand new, like the shoes I bought, but most of their items are used. Great finds for purses, and clothes for both men and women! Dressing rooms are nice and well organized. I always enjoy browsing and shopping at Buffalo Exchange. read more
