Bad experience. The bartender was very friendly, but she proceeded to chat with the regulars while telling me "Be with you in a minute". I sat there for 10 minutes before I could get a drink and a menu. When my food came not as I ordered it, I had to flag down the bartender because she was still ignoring me after several minutes. When the food finally came back (took longer than the original order), it looked like a middle finger on a plate. It was cold, an absolute mess and very difficult to eat. It seemed like the kitchen was annoyed with me for whatever reason, even though I clearly communicated the order to the bartender, who repeated it back to me. The bartender was clearly catering to the regulars at the bar and more focused on having fun with the regular patrons than serving the rest of the customers. This new style of self service is ridiculous and just makes no sense at all. I don't really have a problem with self service itself, just how stupid this location handles it. For one, you come in and there's no apparent way for you to tell it's even self service. Greeted by no one and many many many times there is no one at the register. And when greeted, these staff seemed like they don't wanna work there at all. Rude or just uncaring in anything they say or do. Not every worker was negative in attitude though. More so, while there, we waited about 45 min before our appetizer even showed up and were told they were short on cooks, which is definitely not so much a problem but what bothered me the most was, how they can be short on cooks but have literally 10-15 different "servers" out on the floor doing the most of nothing, some of which choose to chase each other around and play fight, others to just touch their phones and not do anything at all. And the better half of them, just standing and talking to each other for the most part. Like what is the point in having that many workers working doing nothing while being short staffed on cooks? And why are you guys staffing that many people on the floor in general? What is the point of self service? To save money? If so, cut back on the amount of people who are just there for no reason but to just point at where to get napkins and to go boxes. Literally saw a customer asked for boxes as they were unfamiliar with the self service and was rudely just pointed to where it was without even an effort as to personally guide them to it but rather while holding their phone in one hand, pointed out to the other side of the area where the to go get the boxes. More so, after we got our food, we're told they were out of napkins and to just use wet naps for our napkin usage. Not a big problem but definitely odd how they would randomly just be out of napkins at a finger food restaurant. I've been to this location a few times now and it's getting worse and worse in terms of service and wait times. Probably will be the last time coming here. No regrets. read more

REMODLED! Since the new remodel you now scan on your phone to take you to an order page on the internet. It's very confusing and feels like I am at a fast food restaurant. When I went to review my bill after I ordered my food on the app it froze and I exited the internet. When I opened it it had automatically charged me and made up its own tip amount of 20%. Awful service. The Hostess asked if we wanted a booth or table and when we said "booth" she sat us at a table. Things got progressively worse. While there were at least 10 servers around mostly socializing, no one came to take our order. After 20 minutes we let the hostess know we had been waiting for a while - she said she would have someone right away 10 minutes later we decided to leave, at that point someone came to take our order with a lame apology. We should have just left it was not worth the wait or time. Stay away from this restaurant. There are so many wonderful places with great service. I'm not sure why we keep coming here. Maybe it's just that we like BWWs and this location is convenient. Maybe we're gluttons for punishment. Either way, this tends to be a place where my wife and I have met her family on several occasions. On the better visits, the service is just slow. On the worse visits, they have messed up our orders (minor things like the wrong cheese on our Buffalo chips or fries instead of carrots with the kids meals or five billion cups of ranch and no bleu cheese). These were tolerable missteps, but our most recent visit has put this place on our list of restaurants to avoid. We had a larger party with 18 of us celebrating a birthday. It shouldn't have been a big deal as we've had groups there that large before. We all arrived at 5:30, got our drinks and had our orders in by 6:00. Half an hour later, we were curious about where are food was. Fifteen minutes after that, we still had nothing. It was a full hour after ordering that we got our food. Most of it was cold. Some of it was lukewarm. The manager was trying to tell us that we had only been waiting for 22 minutes, but he soon lost that argument. Half our party were children, all restless and hungry by that point, and we begrudgingly ate simply to get some food in us and go. But wait! They tried to make amends by redoing our entire order! So, twenty minutes after bringing cold food that we'd waited an hour for, we got everything we had ordered AGAIN, this time fresh and hot. Why this was their solution I do not know. Honestly, all we wanted to do was to get out of there, and now not only did we have all this fresh, hot food (having just choked down the cold food), most of it just went into to-go boxes anyway. To top it off, as we're trying to square away our checks and get going, they brought out a round of desserts. Those we left on the table, pretty much untouched. It was an almost comical gesture. After all, we had a gaggle of restless kids that had been pushed to the limits of their patience by the long wait, now the manager wanted to sugar them up? Besides, it was a birthday celebration, and we were all heading back to the in-laws' house for cake anyway. Thankfully they didn't try to saddle us with gift cards like other reviewers have reported, as it seems theirs are only good at that location. Bottom line is, if you want to have a decent experience at Buffalo Wild Wings, I would recommend driving a little further. Try the Plymouth or Southdale locations, as I've had great service at both. You won't find us at the Champlin location if we can help it. read more

Champlin is my old hood. I grew up here and still have friends & family that live here. With that said, I've been to BWW several times over the years. The bar service is hit or miss here. Bartenders are either too busy or just inattentive. The food is fine. Nothing spectacular, but I'm a big fan of their parm garlic sauce. I'll buy a bottle & put that stuff on everything: from chicken to shrimp to a flip flop. You name it, I've probably put the sauce on it. Delish. The boneless & traditional combo is definitely enough for 2, so save yourself some cash if everyone wants wings and order that. My most recent visit does deserve a special shout out to our server Chantz though. He was incredibly polite, attentive, and speedy. He anticipated everything. Great job! read more

The new bar and patio service model is terrible. If you're not sitting at the bar, you have to either order on the App or walk up to the bar to order food. The bartenders can't provide any table service at all, according to the bartender who talked to us a few days ago, so you have to walk up for drinks too! The food quality has been terrIble lately as well. The boneless wings have been small and dried out, but the worst part is not having table service in the bar. We have been regulars for a few years, but we won't be going back until we hear that this new "walk up" bar service goes away. There are many other, much better locations where a server will bring you a drink in the bar. I feel bad for the servers. This particular store has moved to a wait staff free format and the service has become intolerably awful! Since this change they wait for food and drinks has become so slow. I've visited twice a few weeks apart since the format change hoping it was just growing pains, but sadly that does not seem to be the case, service remains terrible. On top of that, the food both times was cold and bland and very light on sauce And with no wait staff, trying to express concerns is difficult. What meager wait staff that remains seems uninterested in providing actual service. It's well worth the extra time and effort to travel to a different BWW that does not have this dreadful format. I make a weekly stop in to BWW for a take out order, to enjoy while I watch the Vikings. They are good wings, with good sauce and have a fun, sporty atmosphere with huge TVs playing several games around the restaurant. The two big draw backs to BWW for wings is 1) they aren't crispy enough and 2) on two separate occasions this season I got all wingettes and no drummettes (out of an order of 12). Now, let's be honest. The drummies are the better chicken wing and a more enjoyable snacking experience. So next time I will have to make special requests to fry the wings a little longer to make them more crispy and also to make sure that I get at least 1/2 my order in drummies. read more

First visit: A friend and I went to dine in the restaurant. Every step of the process was waiting and waiting and waiting. I understand that it's not the server's fault if the food takes longer than usual, but our server was completely vapid and even got confused when we asked for soda refills. ('More? You want more?') When she wasn't making it hard for us not to laugh at her, she almost conspicuously ignored our table. It was like she'd glimpse that our credit cards were out, then turn around and pretend she could unsee what she saw, thus somehow abdicating herself of responsibility. Getting our checks took a long time, and we were almost the only customers in the restaurant. So why did I go back? Well, our lovely server decided to charge my credit card for tabs that weren't mine and, when I contacted the manager to fix the problem, she offered gift certificates that were only good at the same location. Second visit: I went back with $10 worth of GCs and decided to get the food to go. The cashier was standing at the register chatting idly on his cell phone. When I approached the counter, he slid a few feet away from me and continued his conversation. I wondered if I was getting punked. I would have left if I knew someone I hated enough to give the GCs to. Anyway, after a few minutes of waiting for a semi-courteous cashier, I ordered my food, waited again, then got the hell out. The food was okay. I'm giving two stars because the food did no wrong, I ask very little of chicken wings to begin with, and the chicken wings didn't choose to be sold at the BWW in Champlin. I'll go to BWW in the future, just not this location. The manager did her best to rectify the first visit, but those GCs just gave the restaurant another chance to disappoint me. read more

Or my $2.80 (special thursday price on boneless wings) for the 4 pack of boneless wings it was in. Really? First, who says I am ready to come back? I have worked in the food service industry for over 26 years. I understand how customer service works and this is not it. If I could give this bww 0 Stars I would! I went here last weekend with my friend. It was a Saturday afternoon and we met up for a beer and some wings. My friend and I have always been big fans of bww and have been to a few different ones throughout the cities. This particular Saturday afternoon there were maybe 10 other customers in the restaurant when we walked in and we sat ourselves in the bar area. We were not greeted when we walked in by anyone. We sat for maybe 15-20 mins before we flagged someone down to take our drink order. After the girl took our drink order the bartender finally came by and asked us if we needed anything. After we got our beers we didn't see anyone for another 25 mins. The bartender came over again and asked us if we wanted to order food. We ordered appetizers and another drink and asked him who our waitress was. His response "you don't have one". Now again, this was not our first time at a bww and we always sit in the bar. We have always had a waiter. Now my friend and I are pretty easy going and not super easy to offend but the male bartender would come over and try and converse with us and with everything we talked about he felt like he needed to argue with us which was kind of a turn off. Also, he thought that it was okay to sit down next to my friend in the booth and continue to argue with us. We were less than impressed with this location. When the waiter finally came another 10 min later with our drinks, he saw that my one year old was sitting on the table and said "we can't have him on the table". Went to BBW in Champlin for dinner. Sat down at a table for 15 minutes before we waved down a waiter asking if we could get a server. He said yeah let me find yours. Finally get one 5 minutes later. Ordered our food and the server came back and said we are out of our appetizer sampler..... but I could order all the things on their separately. Doesn't make sense but whatever. Ordered something else. Wings were cold and had no sauce on them. Ate 1 and left the rest. Server never checked back. We were done eating and waited a good 25 minutes for our server to get our bill. Never showed back up. Waved down a waiter to get our bill and showed him we had a $15 dollar coupon to use. Disappeared for 10 minutes and then FINALLY our server came back with the bill with no coupon removed. She had to fix something on our receipt and came back. Only $8 dollars was removed from the bill. At this point we were already there for an hour and half and I just wanted to leave. This was absolutely horrible service. I understand completely we are in a pandemic and people are short handed. Every other table there had servers go to them why didn't we?? I will NEVER go back to this location. We usually go to another one and will have to go back there. You guys really need to get your shit together! After the order was taken it took another 45 minutes for the food to come out. (The sad thing was the place wasn't even busy). After we received our food, one of my friends didn't even get his full order but only half of what he ordered. On top of that they charged us for additional items that we didn't even order. This place is also too cheap to even coat the wings with the necessary amount of sauce required to actually be called a buffalo wing. We go to Buffalo Wild wings alot. We use to go to Roseville as we lived by there recently moved to maple grove and champlin is the closest one. Went there tonight and the waitress was terrible. Only came to get our order and drop off drinks. Never asked us for a refill and then just dropped off our check. We got a Flatbread to go also, she dropped it off. However both locations have become cheap on saucing up the wings....many come out with barely any sauce on them. Service here is hit and miss, they favor the regulars over other customers so get used to that. Now they've really gone the rip off route and wings are sold by weight (so all the crumbs and mystery pieces count) and they charge you extra (per cup!) for dressing and veggies that other place provide WITH THE MEAL. I've eaten at the Champlin BWW at least 10 times. Although my experiences have varied (4 stars is my average), they have all be pretty positive, but my last one was oh-so-yelp-worthy! Our server, Christopher, provided us with superb service. He kept his eye on us and made sure we always had what we needed. Before we paid, we asked him if we could purchase some of the "desert heat" dry rub. He said he wasn't sure they had packaged for sale yet, but would see what he could do. He came back with one of their to-go containers and offered to fill it up with the seasoning for a few dollars.
