Feast on the celery and carrots as you wait for the entree which from my perspective took longer than average to arrive. The fried mushrooms are a favorite and have just enough batter. This is a local favorite, they have been open a really long time and you can tell by the aged interior that they stick with the classics. They have a small menu and they do what they are comfortable with. Their specialty is how they do their wings and their wings alone. They have other things they do as well but wings are what they are known for. Their garlic parm is very very garlic and I'm okay with that. We were directed to this restaurant by some of the snowbirds who have tried it out. They proclaimed best chicken wings around and they were right. We were told that we could call ahead an our order and pick up at the drive through. But, we decided for the first time we would sit inside and have lunch and order wings to go for the afternoon football game. We arrived about 8 minutes before the Sunday noon opening time to a long line of people waiting to get in. We pulled in off of Beal and there is some parking along side the right side of the building, with more parking in the back. If you miss your turn into the restaurant just turn left at the next road and Left again and come to the back parking area. The left side of the building has the drive through. We were able to get in and seated right away. Our drink order was put in and brought back with a basket of celery and carrot sticks that were crisp and had the most delicious garlic blu cheese dressing. Our food order came out shortly after. Hubby had 10 wings with mango habanero sauce. Wings are awesome, best we've had. I snagged one to try as I traded for half my burger. I had the mushroom Swiss burger with curly fries. Burger was so good I ate 1/2 forgetting to add any of the ketchup, mayo and mustard that accompanied it. At least 1/2 of the fries and 1/2 chicken wings went home with us also taking out 25 naked wings with 5 different sauces for the game later. Speaking of games, there are ample TVs each with a different game on. We were there from Noon when they open on Sunday to a little after 1-prime time for football. Our Packer game wasn't on until 3:15, thus the takeout of wings for our condo football gang. Our waitress, Mia, was attentive with an authentic smile and checked often to see if we needed anything as she busily handled quite a few tables. By the time we got our food there was standing room only. We were told that this place is a local joint with mostly local customers but glad they share with the snowbirds. With all tables full of customers, and many tv's, it was quiet enough to hold conversations easily. We look forward to adding this as one of our faves along with Stewbys and Benjarong. read more

No Lemon pepper wings, one star off.. Dirty establishment, two stars off. Fountain drinks are flat .... This was advertised by locals as a hidden gem. Maybe the Texan in me is used to more flavor but this was a disappointment. Ordered mango habanero and tasted like honey bbq super sweet no heat. Ordered the medium heat and it tasted bland too. This place was too dirty for my liking as well. Wings were extremely mid but again I'm a Texan so if you are from Texas don't come here you won't like it. The curly fries was the best part of my meal and the cheese sticks were ummm yeah no comment. Service was lacking too but they only had one older lady working so kudos to her. read more

the best wing spot (it's a tie for me between Buffalo's Reef and Fokker's). it's nostalgic for me because i would go here with my dad as kid in the 90s. he is originally from the buffalo area in NY so he knows what's good. i finally went back a couple days ago for the first time since i was a child and its just as good as i remember. this is a must for traditional buffalo wings. we went at lunch time during the week so it wasn't too busy, the server was nice and allowed us to sample a couple sauces before ordering. don't expect a fancy high end, this is a mom and pop place but it's comfortable and homey. this is a must stop for traditional buffalo wings! read more

Arrived on a Saturday before the rush and able to be seated right away. Very pleasant waiter and quick drinks served. It's on the menu, but in case you don't know, they cook the wings orders as they come in , so waiting 20-30 minutes for your order isn't unusual. This place was packed when we stopped in for dinner, but seemed to have a good blend of locals and tourists. We got one of the last tables before a wait time started, so we timed it well. Depending on where you sit, you may end up bumping elbows with a table neighbor, which was really my only complaint about this location. The amount of people squeezed in also made it quite loud. I like talking to who I'm grabbing food with, but I don't want to be yelling at them or straining to hear. But the wings were tasty, portions were good, and my heart has been won over by those fries. From a guy that likes the traditional buffalo hot wings, these were money. Perfect sized wings, cooked perfectly, sauced perfectly, and tasted great. The fries were good, and the ranch was a perfect with ranch. I like that they bring out carrots and celery while you wait on the wings to snack on. It was a bit expensive since fries are charged separately from wings, but everything is expensive at the beach. And they are not fast, the waitress even joked if you want fast food you came to the wrong place. They cook the wings to order so it takes a minute. But the wings trumped anything else. Buffalo's Reef has the best wings between Pensacola and Destin, hands-down. If you want real Buffalo-style wings then search no more. Come here and order their medium or hot traditional AKA bone-in wings (10, 15, 20+) to be in wing heaven. They also offer a variety of delicious sauces to try: mango habanero, fiery thai, honey BBQ, and garlic parmesan just to name a few. Don't like getting your hands messy? Their boneless wings are delicious and are the same price per number of wings as the traditional. If you want to split sauces on your wings, then the minimum order number to do half-and-half is 15. Each wing order comes with a basket of carrots and celery with blue cheese and/or ranch dipping sauce. If you want fries with your wings I recommend the half order of curly fries. Personally, that's still a lot of fries so I'll end up splitting that with my dining companion unless they're super hungry and we split a full order. If you want something a little different as a side, then try their onion sticks. It was described as "a bloomin onion but already cut up." They are delicious on their own but even better with the horseradish dipping sauce that comes with it. The wings are made to order, so no rushing around here. If the restaurant is packed, which it often is when any football game is on, then be prepared to wait and enjoy the fact that they bring the veggies out as soon as you order. One thing to note, there are technically two entrances to Buffalo's Reef because it is a renovated fast food restaurant. One side is next to the drive thru and the other side is by the majority of the parking and is thus considered the "main entrance." When you come in from the main entrance you can either take a seat immediately at the bar or wait to be seated by their waitstaff if you peak out a little bit towards the main dining area. If that doesn't make sense, then you'll understand when you come out to Buffalo's Reef to try their wings! read more
