This was my first time at Buga. My friends and I really enjoyed it. There's a couple different tiers and we got the lowest one. We tried almost everything on the menu. Everything was yummy. The different spicy marinated meats were the best. Service was pretty good. Food and water brought out fast. With automatic gratuity & tax, it was around $45 per person. I'd come back again.

Galbitang Special $16.99 ($2 off) compared to its original price of $18.99

Not a lot of restaurants offer lunch special now a days, so had to check Buga Korean BBQ when I saw their lunch special menu on Instagram. Buga Korean BBQ has a great selection, but right now their Galbitang Special is only $16.99 compared to its regular price of $18.99. This offer is good for Mon-Fri 11AM-3PM (except Holidays). The 2 beef bones were big and meaty. They do offer scissors to help you cut the meat. The meat is tender but I wish it was more melt in your mouth tender. Overall a very hearty soup. The side dishes were decent, but nothing memorable. Other Korean restaurants in the Convoy area have tastier banchans. It's still a very good deal! Service was minimal, but sufficient. They offer a cinnamon dessert drink and thought it was a nice way to end the meal. I am still interested to try their other lunch special menu items.

This restaurant was recommended to me ages ago and finally dined here for the first time. There is ample parking and this is conveniently located by the freeway for easy drive in and exit. Service was great, nice and efficient staff. I tried their All You Can Eat- AYCE Level C. What I tried- Meats: Beef Brisket, Beef Bulgogi, Beef Belly, and Marinated Beef Belly AYCE Sides: Steamed Egg, Corned Cheese, Kim Chi, Kimchi Fried Rice, and Sliced Garlic. Food was delicious and filling! They have cute decor for the holidays with the Christmas tree lit up and a red ribbon bow decor. Great option for Kbbq with easy parking and spacious seating with attentive and helpful staff.

Stopped here on a Friday after hearing good things about this place. Opted for the A menu to try the rib eye and New York steak. Thought it was a decent place for an AYCE Korean bbq style meal, the sides were good and service was friendly and quick. I thought the restaurant was well ventilated as well, so didn't get the usual KBBQ stuffy feeling here, which I appreciated. Left here so stuffed that I didn't get to my second helping of each steak. Would recommend to give them a shot!

added to list of favorite Korean bbq spots in San Diego ! Everything was honestly so good! Every meat was so flavorful and I will definitely recommend this bbq spot to family

Korean BBQ is my absolute favorite food, and Buga is always my number one choice. We always choose their All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) menu. Top-Quality AYCE Meats: Every single cut of meat is high-quality, incredibly fresh, and delicious and all the sides are super tasty.Staff take great care of us, keeping the grill going and the food flowing. We visit regularly and always leave happy and completely full.

The meat was an easy 5/5 -- tender, fresh, and served in generous portions. The marinated kalbi was a standout, perfectly balanced and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We skipped the AYCE option and went à la carte, which I always prefer -- better quality and more attention to detail in every cut. The kimchi jjigae was just okay for me, maybe a 3/5 -- a bit too sweet and missing that deep, spicy tang I usually crave. The soondubu was fine but nothing particularly memorable. That said, the banchan (side dishes) were excellent -- super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. They really rounded out the meal and made the table feel like home. If you're coming for the meat, you'll leave happy. I'd absolutely go back just for the kalbi and banchan combo.

    Premium BBQ ala cart.

BUGA now has an AYCE option. We however stuck with one of the premium bbq sets. We ordered the Family combo (BC-6) it came with a whole rib eye steak, beef brisket, short rib fillet, long bone in short rib, tiger shrimp, seasoned short rib and beef belly. This combo came with a lot of premium short rib. I especially liked the long bone in short rib, I don't think I've seen this cut anywhere in San diego except at the Korean market. Most places offer the flanken cut (3 bone thinly sliced) type also called LA short rib. The AYCE did not offer the large bone in short rib so that's why we went this direction instead of the AYCE. I liked the cast iron grill in the table it was very hot. And seared the meat very well. As always we also ordered the steamed egg which was delicious. Service was great as they dropped off pitchers of ice water as we needed and also soju and beers came quickly after ordering them. They do have a private room which holds about 20 people which we sat in. What I like most about BUGA is the premium long bone short rib and the fact that there lots of parking. It's usually hard to find parking for korean food places. I have not tried the AYCE option but I really enjoyed the premium sets. Yes it's pricy but it's worth the quality of meat you get with it. They also have lunch specials which I'll have to try some time. Sorry no food pics this time I was busy cooking and drinking.

FORCED TO PAY FOR A ROACH IN OUR FOOD! The OWNER Justin, COULDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE. He was so rude. Told the server to offer us soda. He made sure that we paid for the entire meal. I'm even contacting health & food services. This is foul. -Our poor server tried to help us the best he could. He was so nice to us but it was not his fault.-

Came here last night for my daughter's birthday and enjoyed the food and had a great time. Service was great, staff was cheerful and friendly. It takes a few times coming here to figure out what are the best things to grill from their expansive menu but Recommend highly.

Weather you dine in at "Buga Korean BBQ" restaurant, pickup, or have the Korean food delivered. Know that you have a great selection, or premium selection of meats and sides to choose from. I did noticed on the "Buga Korean BBQ" menu that if one orders "A" this also includes "B", and "C" selection of meats. Or if you order "B" this includes "C" selection of meats. (See picture of menu) The Sides are really good: Steamed Egg, Corn Cheese, Lettuce Wraps, Small Cold Noodle Soup, Small Spicy Cold Noodle, Kimchi Stew, Soon-Tofu Stew, and Rice and on top of that you have another fifteen others sides to choose from. Thank you, "Buga Korean BBQ", for the great traditional Korean meal. Much love and much respect for the selection of food, quailty of food, and the quality of service.

I just cant see why a higher rating than 3 for this place. The restaurants looks clean and nice inside but it is the food, flavoring, and the cuts of meat that really isn't great. It was either toooooo sweet, or noooo flavor. The squid was too sweet, the tajin garlic pork belly was disgusting, the galbi was not flavorful, and the marinated rib fingers was not marinated but the texture was good when you cook it well done. Today my husband chose menu B. Not worth it! The shrimp was soooooo marinated you lose any shrimp flavor existence and it was pasty! The real reason this place almost got a 2 is bc the corn cheese was gross. It was all liquid mayo. Tasted so nasty. The fish cakes were excellent and kimchi was awesome. The service was good and on top of it. They always kept it rolling and food always came out. They always gave me ice in a timely manner. This place is quite noisy bc its busy! Ill pass on this place. But I hope other patrons will continue to enjoy this place. The people seem to be very nice.

Plenty of room around this big grilling table.

Ask the Community - Buga Korean BBQ

Hello, do you make reservations today? Or walk in?

I would suggest making a reservation if you have a larger group, but they do accept walk ins as well.

Can you order a la carte or is it only AYCE?

    both you can pick

Do they impose any kind of time limit?

Yes, time limit is two hours for all you can eat barbecue with choice of menu that has four price points.

    How much is Ayce?

    There's 4 different price points depending on which level you do. Happy hour is 26.99 (kids 14.99), C is 32.99 (kids 17.99), B is 37.99 (kids 19.99), A is 43.99 (kids 21.99).

Is it possible to eat gluten free here?

In my experience they will probably charge for that

Hi! Do you cook the food yourself here?

Yes, you can either have the food already cooked or you can do the AYCE option where you cook it yourself.

    So you need reservations?

No... You can walk in... I've never waited too long for a table

When's the best time to go? When it's not so busy...

I'm actually not sure.... I haven't gone there for dinner. We usually go for lunch around 12-1pm and it's never been busy each visit. Best option is to make a phone call prior to coming so you can get best answer.

Is there an all you can eat an option here?

Apparently there is, and it is a newer option.

With the outdoor seating, are the grills at the table so that you can cook your own meat?

Depending on certain tables, yes. Otherwise, they will cook it for you inside to bring it out to the table.

    Is it open on Christmas?

Yes. We open 7days and 365 days a year. Open Christmas and New years day. Thank you.…

    How much for person?

Not a buffet it depends what you order

Do they charge per person or can I order a package like the number 3 for 4 people but have like 6 people eating? Bc the kids don't eat much..?

Buga Korean BBQ is not 'All you can eat' restaurant. You can order individual menu. Quality of beef…

Is there new ownership or a new cook? The food has changed the last two times I've been here (this month and last)

I don't know but the tofu soup was awesome today

I feel the same way, the food is expensive, and portions small. I ordered grilled mackerel, but it cost $20 for two fillets and a bowl of rice. Mackerel is just about the cheapest of fishes, sells for $2.29 a lb at Zion Market. The taste of the mackerel wasn't very exciting, I couldn't taste the grill flavor, and I wish they put some marinate on it. The dish I really wanted is Beef Bulgogi (but I like pork better) but it cost $27 and I couldn't bring myself to order it, too expensive. My friend ordered dumplings for about $14, but I did not taste them. My friend only ordered dumplings, which I did not taste. I come to the same conclusion as my previous visit, 6 years before. Was seated quickly our waitress was very nice and was perfectly tentative. Immediately we enjoyed the vibe. Had all of my favorite K-pop mix. I could've sworn they were playing my Spotify daily mix videos. Menu wasn't huge, but everything that we got was amazing.. Son, husband and I enjoyed all of our dishes. Bossam is a must come again for! Perfectly boiled sliced pork belly that you layer yourself with shredded fresh green onion, sliced raw garlic, strips of kimchi radish, some sort of pickled radish, and a ssamjang sauce. The pork alone was amazing and the portion was huge! We barely made a dent in the platter. The kimchi jjigae stew was sooo good too! The broth was savory, just enough spicy, it has a pork riblet stewed in it that was cooked perfectly. Came out to our table still bubbling.. Takoyaki was pretty standard, but what made it a little extra was that you could tell it actually had two pieces of octopus and each ball most places only have one. It was moist on the inside, but firm on the outside perfect amount of sauce on top. Bulgogi was a good size. Portion flavor was spot on beef with sliced nicely and very tender however, there was nothing outstanding besides the portion. Cheese corn was pretty standard as well, but oddly the corn kernels were very sweet and tender so that was very nice. I couldn't tell if it was fresh corn or frozen corn. I was leaning towards it being fresh corn because the kernels popped very nicely and were so sweet. I'm pretty sure they fooled me and it was frozen corn. The staff was so nice. They gave us an order of fried dumplings on the house. And that was very delicious. We will most likely order this next time. It was a perfect mixture of meat and vegetables. The skin wasn't too thick so it wasn't overly chewy or hard but perfectly crispy. The restaurant is on the smaller side. I can see it getting very packed very quickly. By the time that we left a little after six all the tables were full, and there was a party or two waiting. It was very lively, and although there was only one waitress, she was on point.

The banchan was really good, and the meat quality was seriously impressive. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. The service was also incredible, especially considering how busy they were. We waited about 45 minutes during peak dinner time, which honestly wasn't bad at all given how packed the restaurant was. And you HAVE to get the cheese fried rice at the end. BTW this is NOT AYCE. It is also on the pricey end. Also they cooked all the food for us. Not sure if we will be back but maybe on a special occasion or if we are invited by friends to go. Food: We ordered the SOT Sampler Plate and a fried rice. My favorite was the Prime Short Rib. Everything was good but personally I can't tell the difference between the meat I ate here and from another KBBQ place. For the fried rice they kinda burnt our fried rice. It was so burnt that when we tried to scoop up the rice to try and get that charred bottom, it was stuck and moved the grill itself. Service: Staff were good and attentive to when we needed water refills and more sides. They cooked all the food and asked type of doneness we would like our meat. The only time they slipped was for the fried rice. Ambiance: The place is a nice smell of meat cooking. Feels like a pretty professional establishment. Definitely a place where you could bring a much larger party. Parking: This area has a parking lot space and at the time we came there were still plenty of spots.
