I have been wanting to come back to Bugatti and give it a second chance before I wrote the review. The first time was probably a few months ago and had its hits and misses. So I decided to come back, try different things and then give my opinion. On my first visit to Bugatti I had as an appetizer the soup of the day which was a cream of asparagus and it was just okay. Also had the fried calamari which was nicely breaded and the tomato sauce was decadent and light. This time we ordered the minestrone soup which was good... but came cold to the table. The fried calamari is still good. The entrees menu is not big but it has your usual Italian classics. (Their is no kids menu or portions) We ordered the salmon Finocchio which comes with a light wine sauce and vegetables, penne bolognese (which was supposed to be penne with pesto sauce), and tagliolini carbonara. Pasta was cooked good but the carbonara sauce was very salty.... I guess the pancetta overpowered the sauce and it was a bit too much. Service is okay... aside from the penne pesto switched to penne bolognese (waiter oversight) it was friendly and attentive. Probably will not come back here anytime soon. I would skip this place if you are in search of an Italian restaurant.... what I mean is, this place is not the worst but from prices to execution there are far better choices. read more

This has been a family favorite since it opened in the 80s. I remember going as a young child, (back before I understood carbs and calories,) and gorging on their bread I can still remember getting in trouble for using six butters on 8 pieces one time! As an adult who no longer lives here, it is always an absolute treat to visit Bugatti. If I'm in Miami and don't go there, I'm upset. Although I don't consume very many carbs any longer, I must break whatever eating plan I'm on to enjoy at least one piece of bread and the spaghetti pomodoro. While all their food is fantastic, I prefer the basics because their food is that good! Their pomodoro sauce is simple yet oh so delicious, while their (homemade) pastas are such a culinary treat! Over the last 30 years of going, I have either ordered or tasted most of their dishes and specials. I have yet to be disappointed. Even their seemingly basic Bugatti salad is amazing! Went to Bugatti with the hubby and the restaurant has a classy feel. The food was good. We had a pasta with Salmon and Bugatti Pizza. The pizza was good but had so much toppings that each time you would bite into it everything would fall off. The pasta was good as well. The portions are pretty big we ate their and took some home. The service was 5 Star the guys there treated you good and they were friendly. I would go back but to try other plates. Truly authentic house made Italian food. Cute interior and space to sit outside in the shade as well. We sat outside as the sun went down and it was perfectly lit too. Food was fantastic but the service outside was a bit slow. We weren't in a rush so we didn't mind, but just something to be aware of. The first thing that gave me a bad vibe was the wine glasses still had water in them. When we requested different glasses it took a while but they were dry. My wife ordered the carpaccio which was bland and really had no taste. She also ordered the lasagna which was very salty. Another person in our party felt the same way about his order. I ordered the dinner size Caesar salad which was soggy and bland. Wednesday is supposed to be the lasagna day, but I'll pass. Server was friendly and helpful. Visited Bugatti (Italian) Restaurant for lunch with a coworker of mine as their recommendation in Coral Gables and it was amazing. It's a very intimate restaurant and very professionally ran. The food is incredibly fresh and tasty. They provide bread at the beginning and include this toasty bread that's almost like a garlic bread (very toasty but awesome) and it is incredible. I literally could have consumed 12 pieces of that bread and called it a day. That's how delicious it was. Then the appetizer which was rock salt coconut shrimp well I almost cried it was so good. Definitely recommend. Then my main dish was a garlic white wine clam pasta it was ridiculously amazing. The way they cooked it was incredible which was in parchment paper to not dry the noodles, clams or the sauce and omg! Just wow! This is a strong recommendation if you're looking for an amazing Italian cuisine. Service was impeccable and I honestly commend the staff and those running this business. This Italian restaurant has been serving consistently high quality Italian food during the 27 years I've visited it. As opposed to the tasteless and overcooked chewy pasta from the majority of "Italian" restaurants that serves as accompaniment to the excessive and generic tasting sauces covering it, Bugatti's pasta tastes good and is always cooked "al dente." Speaking of sauces, the ones I've tried at Bugatti have tasted delicately regional, from the ravioli al funghi's cream sauce to their ragu, passata and pesto. My wife loves their salads. Every single dish I've eaten here is very good and fresh. And for dessert, you must order the chocolate mousse; It's like no other mousse I've tried, and I don't really care for mousse. Service is efficient and professional, bordering on smug, but never going there. You can tell that the staff has been properly trained by their impressive knowledge of the restaurant's menu. The only reason this awesome place doesn't get the fifth star is because their delicious lasagna is not part of their regular menu. read more

I chose Bugatti to celebrate my best friend's birthday. We made a reservation for 10 on Sunday, August 25th, at 5:30 PM. Bugatti has been a Coral Gables restaurant for years, what could go wrong? Well...a lot! First they placed our table for 10 near the kitchen. The restaurant has awful acoustics. It was impossible to hear each other speak. We were trying our best to hear just the people sitting next to us when this guy, Carlos, comes and tells us that we are being too loud and that people are complaining. Never mind that that we were struggling to hear each other in the first place, no....we had to basically stop talking. The food was good, but not good enough to put up with being harassed and not good enough to go back. We were celebrating a birthday and we ordered a lot of food and bottles of wine. Thank you Bugatti for ruining our experienced! None of us will ever visit your restaurant again. I think I could have stayed sleeping in my old Bugatti*. Back when I was a young intern in the Gables, I'd always seen this spot, so I wanted to go when my friend M.L. had me pick an early birthday dinner spot. The prosciutto was just right on the saltiness and the cantaloupe balls were fresh and naturally sweet. As far as main course, I ordered the chicken scallopini saltimboca. The risotto in wine was rich and flavorful without being overly heavy, and who cannot like chicken and bacon. The reason why my friend and I both keep it at 3 stars is because most restaurants do something when a birthday is mentioned. Super delicious salads & pastas. Great service & a definite old school feel. I started with the TONNO salad (Seared rare fillet of Ahi Tuna, mixed greens, avocado, mango, cilantro vinaigrette) very good and excellent flavours. My friend had the Carpaccio (Beef tenderloin, arugula, Parmesan, extra virgin olive oil). We then split a pasta dish. The Tagliatelle al Pesto (basil, pine nuts, extra virgin olive oil, French green beans) was good but a bit too overpowering. I'll go with the pomodoro sauce next time. After passing by Bugatti for the last two years, as I work very close by, I was finally lured in by a recent review I had read. I just couldn't wait for the next month to try out the lasagna that everyone is raving about so I decided to take Nicole last night, and wow were we impressed by the fancy pasta dishes that we had. Although the interior decorating could be spruced up and is rather Spartan, the service is nothing but five star. For an appetizer we selected the chickpea soup, which was delicious and perfect for our current cooler weather. For our main courses, Nicole selected the butternut squash ravioli and I had the linguini and clams over a white wine sauce with 3 added shrimp. My order was finished in cooking paper which was a little odd and could have been presented with out it. However, as my host explained, placing the cooked ingredients together in the paper enhanced the infusion of the flavors, and thus was presented as such. Nonetheless, the dish was outstanding---shrimp and clams alike were perfectly marinated with the rich garlic white wine sauce. The ravioli also had a distinctive butternut filling and smothered in a cream sauce that was out of this world. You must get the lasagna here! They only do it twice a month on Wednesdays, and it's well worth it! Not disgustingly filling like a regular Italian place would give you. They use a cheese sauce around it instead of the red sauce inside of it. The garlic bread at the beginning is wonderful, I also had the caprese App, was very fresh. Service was on point and It was very busy on a Wednesday. Prices were not bad at all for the Gables. Glass of Prosecco, lasagna, caprese, with tax = under $50! I love Bugatti, great restaurant for small parties or a date. Wine and cocktails are really good. love the tortellini with red sauce, lobster ravioli, the salmon with veggies and fennel is delicious. Appetizers are good I recommend the antipasto misto, Calamari Fritti and Caprese. They are incredible. Service is really good, we have been lucky to be served by MR Luis, he's so knowledgeable, he'll explains every single dish for you, gives you time and space to choose what you like and always brings up great suggestions. The Panacotta is incredible, always on point. Also I heard that they have one of the best Lasagna in town so I really have to check it out. Update 2/22/19: we celebrated my best friends birthday and we had a great time. I had Merlot ( don't remember the name ) it was really good. My favorite meal is the lasagna, sadly it's only offered once a week and not on the weekend. My husband and I were back a few Saturday's ago and I had some really good tagliatelle. I have only been to Bugatti on one specific day of the week. That day, is Wednesday. And I have only been to Bugatti one specific time of the month, the beginning of the month. The reason being.. The first Wednesday of every month, they have "Lasagna night". This review is solely based on my Wednesday trips to Bugatti and do not reflect the rest of the menu. It seems odd, to only have a dish once a month and choose to do it the first Wednesday of the month... However, if they served this dish daily, the staff might be in the weeds on a constant basis. It is delicious. It comes with a cream sauce and a Bolognese meat sauce on the inside. It might seem small when it gets to your table, but it will fill you up and do the trick. It is not too expensive either, I usually get one at the table and then get one to go! The lasagna comes with a soup or salad. If they have their lentil soup... get it! Very good soup with a little kick to it. The complimentary bread is also very good. I am sure that Bugatti isn't a one trick pony and that it dishes up some great food on a regular basis, based on how good this lasagna is. One day, I will update this review after trying something else off of their menu. In the mean time, go on the first Wednesday of every month to eat a taste of this top 5 lasagna! read more

In the menu they have plates with both white and red sauce and so I asked if it could be possible for my plate to have pink sauce (mix of white with red) - I have dietary restrictions and this mix helps- and they couldn't accommodate to me. Ummm I'll preface this by saying I love Italian. Both the food, the people, and the video game. Stopped by here for a quick bite to eat during the lunch hour. Wasn't too busy and was seated fairly quickly. The waiter was very attentive and on high alert. Shout out to the other waiter or the one person who made sure my glass was not empty. Not sure if she was saying I looked dehydrated from the night before or what. The reason this gets the lower review is because I ordered the Ravioli Pomodoro and was really excited about it. My friends and I (a group of 5) ordered 2 appetizers, each one of us an entree, 2 desserts with 2 bottles of wine and each of us paid less than $60 (with tip). There is a reason why this restaurant has been around longer than I have been alive. it has survived the many boom bust cycles of the American economy over the last 30 years, as well as different restaurants and shops going in and out of business in the Coral Gables area. My girlfriend is not one to normally enjoy Italian since it's one of those things she can cook at home really well, but we decided to give to God you try after an evening at Merrick Park. Upon entering, you'll notice that it's a little quaint restaurant space, so get comfortable! It is, however, intimate, and the service is great. Our cups of water were never left empty, and we were offered more bread, even when we were about to receive our main courses! My girlfriend had the Taglioni al Carbornara, and I had the Ravioli Bombay. WOW! Never tasted anything like the Ravioli Bombay at an Italian restaurant. For dessert, we had a classic tiramisu, and left the restaurant with our bellies full and taste buds pleased. Whenever we are in the Gables area, Bugatti will remain a contender for our appetites. I first came to this restaurant on the year 2000 and became a regular for about ten years with it being one of my favorite places to eat pasta; however, Miami's culinary scene has grown so much and there are so many options that I slowly forgot it! Fast forward ten years and I visit now on 2020 and I was completely blown away to find that nothing has changed, from their water ( yes their water is infused with lemon and tastes different) to their bread and their main dishes, they have maintained the same quality and taste that made me a regular diner so many years ago! This is not a trendy place, it's rather a cozy hidden gem in the middle of all the popular places in Coral Gables!
