This place has a very old school feel to it, very classy Italian. Our waiter Anthony was amazing, very charismatic and attentive. I had the mozzarella in Carrozza which came with some pesto which was amazing, I also had the beef carpaccio, the calamari, and the ribeye which were all very good. I ordered the tortellini Tatiana which was by far my favorite thing I had this night, the sauce was perfect, I highly recommend it. The caccio e Pepe was great, and the lobster ravioli was another hit. I would honestly pass on the chicken Milanese there's much better options to choose from. Was invited here to a lecture & dinner hosted by Miami Veterinary Specialists tonight, and I gotta say this was SUCH an amazing dining experience! From the valet to being greeted warmly at the entrance you feel like a celebrity! We were in their private dining room towards the back. The servers were top notch, keeping the wine refilled, the table clear & very amicable. Their bathroom is also an experience as it is very decorated and PINK! The food, bar and staff were so amazing. I waited for my party at the comfortable cozy bar. The bartender was easy to talk to and very informative. He shared items not on the menu which was amazing. I came here with a group of friends for Easter, so I know this post is a bit late. But I had to write it because they deserve 10 stars! We started with a couple drinks at the bar. I got a simple whiskey sour with Jack Daniels, a drink I've had a million times at a dozen bars. It tasted like they were using a top shelf whiskey because it was so well done! When we finally decided to eat, we were seated quickly and take care of by a generous and friendly staff! I ordered the veal Parmesan (which isn't on the menu but I was there with a couple regulars who recommended it). I thought fries were maybe an odd side, but again came highly recommended so I followed the crowd. My dish was AMAZING. It was absolutely smothered in cheese and had just a dollop of sauce on top. I wanted to eat the whole thing, but probably would have blown up if I did! The fries were also fantastic. Shoestring fries are tough to get right because they're so easy to overcook and make crunchy, but these were perfectly done. Much like the veal, the serving size of the fries was asinine! All the more for me to take home! Because it was a holiday, we treated ourselves to dessert. It was SO difficult to choose, but I went with the tiramisu. Guess what? It was incredible! I also tried some of the other desserts around the table, so I can say with confidence that you can't really go wrong. I have been a loyal patron for 50 years. I am a former (trained) waiter at a 5 star restaurant. I knew the former owner, Nino, and always admired his "attention to detail". Once, he saw me at the old Lipton tennis tournament on Key Biscayne, and we were so impressed he took the time to come over and greet us. I love the place and our dinners were very good, but respectfully and constructively suggest: 1. The waiter staff should be more experienced and/ or go through regular training. 2. Simple attention to detail - including the removal of soiled dinner and bread plates and glasses - without having to be asked (by your guests) is just very very basic to fine dining. 3. Waiters should not walk by a table, many times, before being asked to kindly remove soiled plates and cutlery. 4. Waiters should never walk by, or away from, 'any' table (even if such was not their assigned table) without scanning for, and removing, soiled plates or empty wine glasses, etc., etc. Wouldn't it be refreshing for an observant waiter to notice 'his' table was out of butter - before the guest had to ask for more? 5. Waiters should never interrupt guests in order to make 'announcements' or 'take dinner orders' - without first pausing slightly to allow guest conversations to politely conclude. Hence the term '[wait]er'. This also demonstrates respect (or perceived lack thereof) for your patrons. 6. Waiters should accept dinner orders in such a way as to remember which guest ordered which drink, entrée or dessert. It's very novice for waiters to arrive at the table with hot dinners in hand only to announce the dish and wait for patrons to identify what they ordered! Or worse, for waiters to announce "who gets the filet mignon"? (Thankfully the latter didn't occur). This is the type of touch which differentiates fine dining from the competition. Finally, all of the above fine dining codes of conduct - cost nothing. Ambiance People Caffe Abbracci has changed. We have come here for dinner many times. This place used to be so classy. A place where the best of the Gables showed up dressed up real nice on the weekends. Now I see a lot of low class loud people that have no manners. When we had dinner there, there were people at different tables wearing shorts and flip flops. Not an upscale crowd. I remember when people dressed like that were not allowed into the place by the host. We sat down next to a table full of patrons that talked very loud. They did not care that there were other patrons next to them. Decor We were disappointed to see the new facelift. The new paint does not quite match the elegance of the glass chandeliers that were there from before. They don't seem to belong there. Also they plastered the wall with cheap lithographs. A nicely painted wall with an Italian landscape would do wonders. Food Compliments to the chef! The filet mignon, seabass, and dessert were incredible. The house wine was good. Service The older waiter that served us was very disagreeable and unfriendly. He suggested a certain soup and when I politely refused, he did not seem pleased. In spite of that, I gave him a good tip at the end of our dinner. He looked at it he did not even say thank you. No eye contact, no smile. He just walked away. For the price of dinner here, I think the Biltmore is more appropriate. read more

Upon walking in, you immediately feel the vibe of an authentic family owned Italian restaurant. I was surprised at how many people were there for a Wednesday! The staff was extremely attentive, our water cups were never empty nor were our drinks!!! The bread was warmed to perfection. My boss brought me here for lunch and I am so glad he put me on to Caffee Abbracci. Everything was delicious! Service was impeccable. It is super cute inside, kind of like a stereotypical Italian restaurant from old movies but in a charming, romantic way. Very intimate. I was waiting for Tony Curtis to start playing the piano. The owner...who apparently has owned the place for 40 years...was so sweet and hilarious. We stated off with the prosciutto and burrata app. For our main courses, I ordered the black lobster ravioli. It came smothered in this wonderfully delicious lobster sauce where you could actually taste the lobster in it. Fresh pasta and plentiful lobster stuffed within. Highly recommend this dish. Now onto the pièce de résistance...dessert. At my boss' insistence we ordered the Napoleon. It technically wasn't on the lunch menu (I'm assuming it's only on the dinner menu), but they graciously made it for us when we requested. We also ordered the lemon torte because I'm a sucker for lemon desserts. The Napoleon is pillows of delicious custard sandwiched between layers of sugary puff pastry. No exaggeration it is in my top five favorite desserts I've ever had at a restaurant! Soooooooo good!!! It's somehow manages to be both light and decadent. Our new favorite date night spot! Just down the street from Books & Books in Coral Gables is this hidden gem! Well hidden to us, it seems, because the place was packed with regulars. Everything on the menu looked so good that we ordered three pastas for the two of us to share because I simply could not settle on just two. They were all so good, but the standout was the linguini with clams. It was buttery, salty, with the right amount of herbs and perfectly cooked clams. Next, was the agnolotti with that sage butter sauce!! And the amatriciana was also delicious, just wish there was more pancetta. The tartufo was spot on, and while I liked how creamy the tiramisu was, I wish it wasn't so boozy. It's just a preference thing. Can't wait to go back and try three more pastas! read more

I walked in and the placed was packed with a line of people hoping that people don't show up for their reservations. Café Abbracci has been a stable in the Gables for over 25 years. And if you eat there you will understand why. The inside still has the same decor from many years ago and transport Shu to a different world. It pains me to say but after some months battling Covid the owner passed away but the restaurant seems to be in good hands. Once you arrive you agreed it right away and everyone in the restaurant is very nice. They bring bread to the table and had an amazing split pea soup as the soup of the day. My go to meal is the black lobster ravioli. It comes with a delicious sauce that I almost lick off the plate. My wife is a little more picky so she orders a Carbonera which is not on the menu. They are also very gracious in making you a special meal if you do not see it on the menu or have special dietary restrictions. They can make just about any Italian dish you can think of. With great service and grade food it's easy to see while Cafe Abbracci has been around for so long and will continue to be around. Can't wait to come back! read more

Five stars all around. This was my first time here with family. We went back in May to celebrate my dad's birthday. Funny enough we have passed by this place so so many times but never decided to venture in. We finally took the plunge and I am so glad we did. The vibe on the outside matches the vibe inside. It feels very classy, quaint, and refined but not over the top and grandiose..like understated elegance:) It's like your typical Italian restaurant with the red table linen and walls adorned with photos of the owner with past patrons, news articles, and accolades which gives it that charming old school Italian restaurant feel. As you enter, there is a small waiting area where the host stand resides and as you make your way through there is a main dining room and a second dining room to the right which was closed off at the time we went (which was lunchtime). What made the atmosphere feel so nice and quaint was the fact that the noise level was low and the music was quiet and relaxing, like soft acoustic guitar. You can tell that the patrons there were regulars as most were in business attire and everyone acted professionally and weren't being loud or boisterous. The atmosphere of a restaurant can make or break it just as much as the service can so I always take it into account. Immediately upon seating, we were greeted by a server assistant who offered us sparkling water or flat water. He was very mannerly and polite. We were also provided with fresh, warm, bread rolls. I am such a sucker for table bread and the timeliness of its arrival was superb lol They don't provide you with olive oil or balsamic vinegar which was fine, but they did provide pre packaged butter packets in a ramekin. The bread portion was generous for anyone that wants to know and is a bread lover like me;) The wine selection was also worth commenting on. There were Old World wines and New World but the prices were pretty steep. I was planning on splurging since this was my dad's birthday lunch/early dinner but for anyone that prefers house wines at an affordable cost they really didn't have any wines in the $25/$30 price range. We settled on having the Seghesio Zinfandel from Sonoma which I've had before after eyeing it at Whole Foods but it was so worth it. It had been while since I last had it but it was soooo good. It was fruity and oaky at the same time with a hint of cedar and burst of cherry and/or currant. Smooth and supple but mildly tannic. I'm not much of an earthy wine drinker nor am I big on dry wines unless it's a Malbec, but this was the perfect pairing for what we ate. It was like off dry. It was lite enough to be a good drinking wine for an afternoon lunch and bold enough to pair well with what we ate. The dishes we chose were the Porcini Mushroom risotto, the black inked lobster ravioli, and Seafood Linguine. Holy Moly! It's like I died and went to heaven. This was the first time we had been to a restaurant since covid starting and the lockdown happened so a bit over a year so it did feel kind of strange to be sitting indoors without a mask on and around other people. Not going to lie, but all the tables were six feet apart and were separated by plexiglass glass partitions which actually made our dining space feel more private. As for the food, I have no complaints whatsoever. The portions were generous and they were extremely flavorful and balanced. Nothing was too salty or oily. It had just the right touch of cream for the dish I had and everything tasted fresh and came out hot. The service was excellent...exactly what I expected from a place like this. Our waiter was warm, polite, consistent, and professional. He checked up on us now and then but wasn't obtrusive and made sure the table was properly bussed, manicured, and reset at the time right time. I wish I could recall his name because I love to give shout outs and give credit where credit is due. The hospitality industry is a tough one especially given the circumstances we are currently in with covid and I consider servers as essential workers as they are exposing themselves every day to hoards of people, even if they wear a mask but this gentleman wore a smile on his face the whole time, appeared to genuinely care about our dining experience, and make a valiant effort to make it a pleasurable one. I will definitely be going back one of these days, though with covid cases and variants going up, not so sure, but for the time being I still want to commend businesses such as Cafe Abbracci for offering an outstanding product and service and doing their best to make customers feel safe and valued. More than ever we must support businesses and show our love to them. I'm grateful I was able to dine at Abbracci when I did.
