This great gem, hidden in downtown coral gables has the best Italian food in town. They are known for their lasagnas on Wednesday, but only the first and second Wednesday of every month. Today I walked out of those doors EXTREMELY disappointed by their service. Walked in 50 minutes before closure and was not allowed to dine because the gentleman greeting said it was a quiet night and they were closing soon. Needless to say I will find it very hard to recommend anyone to come to this place from this point forward. I am dissatisfied with the treatment I received today and the lack of good customer service. Its a true shame, because I am a regular customer that they've just lost. read more

This is a nice little place in Coral Gables. I was very pleasantly surprised, especially because despite the fact that I walk around this area often, I had never noticed this place before. Nice decor, no frills and you get exactly what you expect. A decent meal with good attentive service. The prices are not exactly reasonable but not expensive either - just what you would expect for a small Italian place in the heart of Coral Gables. If you happen to come here, I am sure you won't be disappointed but it doesn't have enough value added to me to forgo other places in the Gables in lieu of coming here - They are doing a really good job at serving good Italian food with good service - so Kudos Bugatti ! read more

I hesitate to write a review saying that a place is only ok, but that was my experience at Bugatti. The service was attentive but the waitress had no suggestions. The risotto was fine but not outstanding. The yellow pepper soup was tasty, but not memorable. I had better Italian with better service at a similar price at a restaurant in St Louis the previous week. Bugatti gets three stars. read more

I have always wanted to come here and boy am I glad I finally came around to it! Why didn't I come before??!?! We walked in and were immediately greeted and led to a booth. Our waiter was very courteous and friendly. But not awkwardly over friendly! I love that they put lemon in their water! I love that they OFFER water! Is it just me or has anyone noticed that you have to ASK for water when before they just served it immediately. I started off with their homemade lemonade! OMG it's soooo good!!! As an appetizer we had the prosciutto e melon which was fantastic too! My husband ordered the lasagna. They offer the lasagna ONLY the first and second Wednesday of the month. Used to be only the first but our waiter said it was getting super crazy packed so that's why they added another day. Should tell you something about their lasagna! My husband said it was the best he has ever had! It's a small yet perfect portion! I had the penne al pomodoro with a side of chicken. Side because they can't cook it inside with the pasta. Which I thought was odd..... Anyway I'm willing to overlook that because the pasta was so delicious! The sauce was exquisitely cooked to perfection! Just PERFECT! For dessert my husband had the chocolate mousse and I had the bread pudding! They were both great! There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. My personal experience was great! Nice dinner (4 stars) We came back after many years. Ordered a bottle of Conanau, but it was a little too acidic, and asked to change for a Malbec. The Malbec was a much smoother tasting wine. The bread was nice and crispy, with a flavor of olive oil and sea salt. We got salads and caprese. The cheese was so rich and delicious. It needed some salt, pepper and olive oil. For entrees we got ravioli, gnocchi, and mushroom risotto. The risotto was nice and creamy, and a little parmesan cheese made it taste richer. The spinach gnocchi was good too. It shows my last visit was 2012, and I hope I can come back sooner. read more

I have only been here once, just for lunch, but must say it was one of the best pasta dishes I have had in my brief 2 year stay in Miami. Outstanding fresh made egg noodle penne with pesto sauce that melted in my mouth. It was accompanied with a basket of fresh bread, including garlic bread. The waiter recommended an excellent Malbec to go with the dish. I look forward to coming back and trying their lasagne as well as some of their chicken dishes. Excellent service. read more

My wife and I have been guests at this wonderful restaurant for more than forty years. The very fact that a restaurant in South Florida would last that long is substantial proof that they are doing a lot of things right. Another proof is that their staff (servers, chefs) remain there for years. Loyalty comes from quality. You don't need me to describe the menu to you. You can see it on-line. I would add, though, that the portions are very generous, the wine and beer menus are wonderfulm and the plates for the warm dishes are always toasty, which makes the food taste even better. Local friends took me to Bugatti and I was very impressed with the menuu and service. The Carbonara pasta wasdfferent then I have sampled in the past, but was very good and not greasy or creamy, but light and flavorful. The same for the pesto pasta. Outstanding service. So happy we were able to pick up our lasagna meals yesterday at Bugatti! They are doing a great job of making takeout easy during COVID-no need to even get out of our car. Nice little place in the Gables. It is clean and quiet and the service is good. The pasta is very fresh. I had the Taglioline, egg noodle pasta, a la Bugatti which came with cream sauce that had some thin slices of ham and some mushrooms. It was not an overly creamy dish; the ham was subtle in taste and it had a good amount of mushrooms, overall it was delicious! There is something missing in the ambiance, perhaps it is the clientele or the atmosphere is just very dull. But I think I should give it another try to be fair. read more

This is my parents favorite restaurant. I have been here at least 30 times. Although I have to say the pasta is damn good, the restaurant itself and the staff lack something that places nearby have. I think part of the reason I feel this way is because the interior looks like it hasn't been changed since the early 00's and same thing goes for the staff. Great food, but could provide more of an experience given the price and location. read more

Everyone is 6 feet apart inside and the outside seating is perfect if you prefer that. As pretty much everyone else has said, the Lasagna is just plain awesome. Perfectly seasoned, with a very generous helping of meat and a yummy cheese sauce. Definitely order this if you happen to be dining on the first or second Wednesday of the month. We also tried the ravioli, which was also delicious, although I was surprised the filling was not also coated with the yummy curry sauce that remained outside. The subtle flavors were outstanding. Even the bread was unusually delicious, I particularly enjoyed the spiced and buttered toast. Service was attentive and excellent. Best dining experience I've had in quite a while. read more

So the first Wednesday of every month is Special Lasagna day. And that's when I showed up, hands down best lasagna I have ever had. It comes with either a homemade Cesar side salad or soup. The Cesar is outstanding, you can taste the home made dressing in every bite. Then the lasagna comes and it catches you off guard because it is surrounded with a creamy white sauce! You don't even need a knife, a fork cuts straight through this perfectly velvety smooth masterpiece. This place is run by the pasta nazi and his wife, Goering's alter ego. Don't even think about bucking the rules here. My wife, another couple and I had dinner there a while ago. It was midweek and it was late in the evening. We were finishing our dinner (not quite finished) and the waiter came over and asked us if we would like dessert. I said that I would like some gelato but only after I finished my beer that I was having with dinner. He said that the kitchen was closing and that if I wanted dessert that I had to order it now. I said that was fine, I would order it now but I wanted it after I finished my beer. He said that the dessert had to be served now because the kitchen was closing. (I don't know why the kitchen needs to be "open" to serve gelato?) I again reiterated what I said. The waiter left, came back in a few minutes and cleared the table. I asked for my dessert. He said the kitchen was closed and left the bill on the table. We were the only people left in the restaurant. Now it was a standoff. We left the bill on the table. The waiter returned a couple of times to pickup the bill but there was no money. Each time I asked for my dessert. Each time he said the kitchen was closed. During all of this the owner and his wife were sitting at the rear of the restaurant watching. I asked several times to speak to the owner. He refused to come to the table and each time sent the waiter back to demand the payment. The waiter ultimately told me that they were going to call the police if we did not pay the bill. Both of the friends we were dining with are lawyers and at this time they were split on what to do. One wanted to pay and leave and one wanted to wait until the police came and see what they would do. I wanted to stay also but my wife won and we paid the bill and left. My story of abuse at the hands of this pasta nazi is not the only one that I have heard. read more

Wow Miami. This place raised the bar high. Good luck to the rest of you wanna be Italian restaurants. You'll need it. We ended up here as a second choice after ditching our first due to exceptionally poor service. I've wanted to try this place for a while but kept passing it by for some reason. What a mistake. This place was fantastic. Starting with exceptional service from our waiter Alex (and I NEVER remember names) who took better care of us then I'd expect from a private butler. We ordered two different kinds of ravioli. A mushroom ravioli with a ham and cream sauce and a spinach and cheese ravioli with red sauce. Fresh! Fresh! oh and did I say FRESH! I'm not typically a fan of ham nor cream sauce with ravioli but I couldn't tell you which dish I liked better. You could distinctly tell the dishes were fresh by the exceptional flavor of each item from the mushrooms subtly accented by the ham in the cream sauce to the tomatoes and basel in the red sauce. The prices were fair, service exceptional and quite possibly the best Italian food I've had. I'll be back! read more

This is the first time I've significantly disagreed with the consensus of Miami restaurant Yelpers. If I could, I'd give this place 1.5 stars. I have pretty simple tastes when it comes to pasta. The first time I order pasta at an Italian place, I almost always get the same thing: penne with a pink sauce and grilled chicken. I ask for the dish whether it's on the menu or not. I think the dish is a great barometer for a pasta place. Every place can make penne with a pink sauce and grilled chicken. Right? Nope. I asked for it here and, for the first time ordering pasta at an Italian place, the server told me the restaurant couldn't make me penne with a pink sauce and grilled chicken. I moved on quickly. This is not Keeping Up With the Kardashians. I threw no fit. I ended up ordering the tagliatelle with cream and ham sauce on the server's recommendation and a caprese salad. The server brought out two types of good bread. Great, but the butter was frozen. Don't give me frozen butter. What am I supposed to do with frozen butter? You know how it works. You try to spread that rock-hard butter and just jam it through the bread. "Oh maybe I can fold the bread around the butter cube?" Nah. You just end up eating a large chunk of cold butter. Thwarted by cold butter. The caprese salad was disappointing. It was very plain with no oil or topping. If you're going to stake the entire caprese salad on just a tomato and mozzaerella chesse, I'm fine with that, but those two components need to be Jordan and Pippen not McCain and Palin. Alas, they were the latter. The tomatoes were overripe and the mozarrella kept making snarky comments about putting lipstick on a pig (the mozzarella was ok, actually). The tagliatelle with cream and ham sauce was fine. To be fair, the pasta tasted very fresh. But there wasn't much of it. For $16, I need a pasta dish to fill me up. This didn't do the trick. What really bothers me is that I was set to go to Anacapri which is a half a block away. I know Anacapri has good food. I've eaten at their South Miami location. I checked Yelp for Bugatti and the solid reviews convinced me to try Bugatti. I wish I hadn't. read more

The lasagna is the best part and worth going for on first Wednesday of the month . Only reason for my poor review is service ... We went by today and with the restaurant empty where rudely told we could not sit at a booth even though we requested it. He said because we are only 2 and its lasagna day. Mind you the table we where going to sit at had 4 seats and the restaurant was 90 % empty. If he would have said that they are reserved I would have settled for the table , then I tell him it's ok if I can't get a booth I'll come back another time and he did not even flinch he was just like "ok" read more

The rest of the week the food is definitely above average but it is not my favorite Italian in the area save the lasagna. The service is always great and the prices are reasonable. This is one of my favorite Italian Restaurants. Service is great and the lobster ravioli is my favorite. It's not fancy--it's casual with a 90's flair to it. And bring a little sweater because it's alwasy cold in there. It's reasonable and right on Ponce if you're looking for something in the Gables. The ceasar salad is also one of my favorites in the City because they put sun-dried tomatoes. It's quiet and business oriented. Let's face it, my family introduced me to this place over 10 years ago and I'm still going with and without them. It's a sure thing! read more

One sentence review: what this place lacks in atmosphere and expedient service, it definitely makes up for in food quality. The only reason I came here was because of people raving about the food. The outside is stark white, and the name "Bugatti" doesn't really conjure up images of delicious italian food. The inside is also fairly plain, nothing special. I came in here specifically for the lasagna special, which they have on the first and second Wednesday of each month. This is not the same type of lasagna you might be used to as it's covered in a creamy bechamel sauce. It seems this lasagna attracts almost everyone in Coral Gables because on Wednesday the restaurant was packed, and I know why. The lasagna was amazing. The meaty sauce inside the pasta had great flavor, but what makes it is the bechamel. After I was done eating I grabbed some leftover bread to sop up as much of this sauce as possible. Bugatti isn't a one trick pony though - we also ordered a couple of apps - calamari and the antipasti platter - that were excellent as well. If you come here on one of these days, don't expect to get out within your allotted lunch time. The service was painfully slow, even though it was fairly attentive. I wouldn't make it a habit to come here because of this, but I can probably swing it once a month. read more

I had been wanting to give this place a shot for a while considering the amazing reviews of their lasagna. Unfortunately I didnt get to try because I came on a Saturday night. I have to agree with another review, there is absolutely no ambiance in here. As for the food, I really wasnt impressed. We ordered the prosciutto di parma (which was the best) and then our main entrées which consisted of a chicken and fettuccine with a cream gorgonzola sauce and the chicken with risotto. Both dishes were mediocre at best and for $21 each. And no special birthday anything. We were lucky to get a candle in the creme brulee because we mentioned a few times it was a birthday dinner. No frills here. I expected a bit more. They seem to have their clientele but I dont think I was enticed enough to return. They have a good number of seafood selections. read more

My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday celebration since the first wednesday lasagna day coincided with my birthday. We lucked out that the weather was bad because we had no wait. The beer is very reasonably priced and the bread they start you off with was warm and so delicious. We ordered the carpaccio appetizer which I thought was excellent and of course the lasagna as our main dish. When the lasagna came out I had to hold myself back from shoveling it in my mouth. It really is delicious. The portions are reasonable but not large. What I thought was large unfortunately was the price. $18 and that didn't even include a salad. A little steep in my eyes. But hey if people will pay it.... I also didn't feel any ambiance here. The paintings of colored fruit on the wall had no sense of romance that I expect from an italian restaurant. read more

Bugatti was a place I used to love and frequented a lot when I lived in Miami in the late 90's. They focused on making awesome pasta dishes with interesting sauce combinations. One of my favorites, Bombay chicken ravioli, an eclectic Indian spiced fusion pasta dish, was something I had never seen anywhere else and it was incredible. I love Indian food in general and this combination of Indian curries and pasta was so wonderful and I have always wondered why I have not seen more of those kinds of dishes anywhere else. I was hooked from my first visit. Over time I did try many of their other pasta dishes and found some that were quite yummy as well, but my mainstay and what kept bringing me back was the Bombay ravioli. I moved away from Miami in 2000 and have only been back a few times. Last week I had a chance to meet up with an old friend in Coral Gables for lunch. It was sad to hear that many of my favorite restaurants had perished in the highly competitive restaurant landscape of south Florida. It turns out that Bugatti was still around, and conveniently a few doors down from the Starbucks I met up at, so we ended up there for lunch. The interior was a bit more plain than I recall, but I don't think I ever ate there for lunch before, so maybe the lighting at night gives it a much different feeling. The place was pretty empty for a Saturday lunch time. The service was good and my favorite dish, Bombay chicken ravioli, was as perfect as I remembered it. read more

I went there during a weeknight. Too lazy to cook. I was excited about the place because it looked so nice from the outside--warm looking brown leather seating, table cloths, adequate lighting and so on. The name was exciting too because it made me remember good times spent in Molsheim, France, home of the famous Bugatti cars and time spent driving the Route de Vin Alsace in my first sports car. The best times ever. So perhaps my expectation was too high. Read my review accordingly. I had a salmon appetizer and ravioli entree filled with lobster, shrimp and so on. The ravioli was good but tasted like it had been sitting around on a warm plate for hours. The wine was airline coach quality. The service was excellent. The clientele was excellent, not like Hillstone down the street which some nights can be a little sketchy, with all of the Medicare fraud doctors mixed in with extralegal pharmaceutical salesmen from Hialeah, playing dress up. Still it's a train wreck I love to watch. lol At Bugatti, the price of the food is not worth it unless you want a place to eat, in which the odds of no gun smoke are "ever in your favor." With those parameters set, Bugatti Restaurante "is the shit," but I'm kind of on the fence about going back. I wish the food had more favor. Us Philly boys are kind of hard on Italian restaurants that just can't go native. "I'm just sayin'." I had some creme brûlée there, too; it was nothing special. Tasted exactly as good as the frozen supermarket stuff. No martinis. They lack spirit (pun alert). Gosh, maybe I should not go back. :( That was $80+ bucks I could have spent on some hookers in Columbia (just joshin'') or ummm some groceries (again, just joshin'). In an earlier review, someone wrote that Bugatti is the "best Italian restaurant in Miami." I weep for you, my friend. Oh my God. Update--Was contacted by the owner, a gentleman. I will try the restaurant again in a couple months with an open mind. Update 2--Heading back for another try in late July. Lock up your liquor cabinet and hide your daughters. I have been coming to this restaurant for close to 20 years now and I've never been disappointed. The place is quiet, simply decorated and always very clean. The food and service has been consistently good all these years. I can honestly say that's it's my favorite restaurant. I do I agree with other reviewers though, about them turning customers away sometimes on slow nights, but this has happened to me only a couple of times, and close to their closing time on a weekday night. I would highly recommend their lasagna, which is only served on the first two Wednesdays of the month, their steak with fries, vichyssoise soup, risotto and just about any pasta dish. Also, this is a great place for first dates since it's not loud even on a busy night and just very chill. read more

Wanting a quick bite with a couple of friends after leaving the office downtown last night before heading over to the Marlins game, it was suggested that we try Bugatti. We strolled in at 5PM and only 1 other table was occupied. A truly non descript place very clean with some booths and half booths very nuveu looking. On the flip side it had to me absolutely no esthetic appeal whatsoever. No bar / beer & wine only, and it was simply a square box with tables and booths. Waiter provided us with the menus and some absolutely terrific bread and butter while we reviewed the men that were fairly basic with some specials. Pastas, chicken (NO VEAL), and some fish mostly shellfish. We started with 3 soups tonight 2 Minestrone and 1 special Yellow creamed corn soup with hot peppers. The creamed corn soup was very good and had great flavor and spice to it. The minestrone though tasty was a bit on the watery side and even some cheese could not give this enough body to put this into the excellent category. Moving on entrees were 1 homemade pasta with Bolognese sauce was OK as their wasn't enough Bolognese to make the dish special in any way though it did have a nice rich flavor with adequate meat in the sauce. The night's special was Ravioli with wild mushrooms in a delicate red type sauce that needed again more body. Perhaps it is the northern Italian cooking concept but it just needed something more. The real winner was the homemade pasta Carbonara which was rich, with nice amount of pancetta. It was creamy and delicious. A house mouse was very good as were the espressos. Price points were not expensive but not cheap either. All and all service was impeccable and it was a solid meal but it simply didn't bring me to the edge or over it. Solid without being spectacular. Many options in the area I'd like to try as well but certainly nothing wrong here. read more
