They gave me $70 for 41 items....all Ralph Lauren, all in great condition (because they won't take things that are not in good condition). I'm sure they sold some of those items for $8-10 each. I needed the shopkins toys so bad for my daughter..she's going to be thrilled....but I'm definitely coming back here for some shopping for me, next time. I hope this great little shop survives in the mall for a long time. The ladies working the counter were super sweet and courteous, that's always a plus. I went to Katy Rock Shop a few weeks ago and honestly left feeling pretty disappointed…read more I've been rockhounding for years and have attended multiple large mineral shows, so I'm very familiar with pricing and quality when it comes to certain minerals. A lot of the items in the shop felt way overpriced compared to what I've seen elsewhere. I also noticed a few minerals that appeared to be mislabeled. I can't say whether that was intentional or not, but it definitely caught my attention. Some of the fluorite they're selling is very low quality, especially for the price they're asking. I also looked at some of the citrine and it really looked like heat-treated amethyst that had been altered to resemble citrine. The color and appearance just didn't seem natural. If it's treated, that should be clearly disclosed. A friend of mine bought a 14-inch saw from them a while back and was told it had all the parts and was fully functional. It ended up being the worst saw he's ever purchased. The blade was unaligned and it needs a lot of work to get it running properly. For what he paid, that's pretty frustrating. On top of that, I didn't feel very comfortable in the store. I'm Hispanic, and I felt like I was being watched the entire time. Every time I turned a corner or knelt down to look at something, the cashier would reposition herself to keep me in view. It honestly made me feel like I was being suspected of stealing. I had also seen another review mentioning that staff weren't very polite, and unfortunately that matched my experience. Based on my visit, I wouldn't recommend this shop.

It's definitely a trendy store that you have to visit when you are in Chinatown here at Katy. I almost feel like some people just like to come hang out in here, but it's not necessarily a sit and read your book but I bet if they did that along with some Boba, this would really be a cool store to hang out in. Don't get me wrong. Some things are kind of expensive, but then some things aren't. Just depends on what you're looking for. The staff is always nice and patient especially how packed this place.
