And that's whether it's frames, photo albums, artificial flowers, kids' arts and crafts items, or Christmas stuff, etc. Just due to nostalgia, I often like to check what they may have in stock as far as Revell toy models for cars, planes, ships etc. The toy model inventory these days in any crafts store is almost down to nothing as it is an outdated and pretty expensive hobby for what it is anymore but still a reminder of my good 'ol childhood days. It's self checkout here these days and like in a Walgreens or ice cream shop, the customers can come and go here in big clusters. Staffers have always been helpful when needed. Thumbs up!

Well, $5 coupon is available to you at pickup but you must spend it on a full price item. YC never goes on sale until Black Friday 2025 so I raced to buy online and went to shop, IN-STORE, for 3 coupons are due to expire. WELL, every staff member was eager to let me know Buy 3 get 3 didn't apply to YC. Yes, I know. But what they didn't help do was explain all the caveats to my printed hardcopy coupons which I read the fine print and still learned, at the register, the intended traditional candles didn't apply. Or, the free item was limited to $15. Guess what, not much of substance is available at $15 in the store which explains how and why the outlets have these out. Hence, just shop at the outlet if and when you ever receive a coupon. This store is near, clean and staff is knowledgeable and can be too eager to help while not helpful where I needed it most. At any rate, Joyce was patient because I truly needed to segment my purchase. It wasn't lets pay for the whole basket in 1 transaction. I have rewards and gifts in mind. Maybe corporate will work to remove the facade/shill but I doubt it as things have been working for them for how long? Well, I'll accept I'm not their target market and buy from Lafco, Mind Games, Nest and Costco as price points and sillage matter to me. I walked around enjoying all the wonderful scents. I sniff and smelled the candles on display. I was the only person in the store at the time. The saleslady gave me my space and if I asked her a question. She was so freely to answer my questions. Many different scented candles and other fun gifts to purchase. Pretty pricey for candles. Instead of helping, the employee -- who claimed to be the "boss" -- gave me nothing but pushback and excuses. I explained that I no longer had the receipt, but I brought the debit card used for the purchase so they could search for the transaction. I was told their system "only goes up to the 16th" even though my purchase was on the 15th, so apparently they just "couldn't find it." The entire interaction felt like a run-around instead of an actual attempt to help a customer. What made the experience even worse was the attitude. The employee was unprofessional, accusatory, dismissive, and talked to me like I was stupid for trying to resolve an issue with a broken product THEY sold. When I asked for her name, she refused to provide it. A defective item is already frustrating enough. Being treated poorly on top of it is unacceptable. This store seriously needs customer service training and management oversight.

The most distinctive feature I noticed is that their grocery department is huge and at least 2-3 times larger than in most other Targets. I'm not sure why that is, but the customer base here must support it. Due to traffic from the Costco warehouse as well as their gas station, it's usually a bit of a cluster to leave the area. Nonetheless, it's in a handy location particularly when one might be doing dual Costco and Target runs.

There's so many amazing stores going into Plaza de Lago, but all my 14 year out cares about is Love Shack Fancy and she's been eagerly awaiting opening day. When we heard September 19th was the big day she suggested we camp out the night before. Um, no. I did offer to take her to their opening during her school at school, but then we scored an invite to their VIP grand opening the evening before...I told her to invite a few friends and let's shop! I think the girls spent more time making tiktoks and taking pics than shopping, but my wallet was OK with that. However, we did spend a lot of time admiring all the frilly adorable clothes...and purchased a few things. i liked that they had a few Chicago items for sale such as bracelets and a sweatshirt to make it special/different from over LSF stores. All the sales associates there couldn't be more friendly whether they were visiting from other stores (we saw a few that helped us in Greenwich during our last visit!) or will be working there full-time (shout out to Carly who was very friendly to my daughter and her friends). Everyone in the store, whether they worked there or visiting, was dressed to impress in LSF and while i usually find it to be a younger brand definitely found myself admiring some things for myself. I have a feeling we'll be back a lot, although i think my 14 year old is going to need a job with this just 15 minutes from our house!
