How the process works is: try and take a sample of stucco from your home, they will then try and match that color for you (or if you know the name of the color is even better). My husband didn't do this. Instead he chose the color from a brochure. The guy who helped us was friendly, took our order for (a stucco repair kit) and said he would call us when the mixture was ready. We ended up calling him the next day and the product was ready. They were helpful and efficient. Long story short the colors did not match (no fault of the shop) and we returned a few days ago to place another order free of charge. My first order was for three boxes of floors initially, which - come to find out from my floor installer upon opening - one box was damaged from their fork lift. My installer said it wasn't a big deal, just to take it back to Rayo and they would credit me. Mind you, I had just placed an order for TWENTY more boxes of the same flooring -- so clearly I was not out to scam them. If I could have used that box, we definitely would have. That seems to be pretty common sense, but oh man, you would have thought I was asking Jason to have them give me the Pacific Ocean for free. In a nutshell he completely freaked out on me asking to return the box. First he said "this is not damaaged!" Then that quickly turned out "I don't see why your installer can't just work around the damaged parts." Then from there it went to "Custom orders are final!!!!!!" WHIICH ONE IS IT?!?! Good grief! I explained the situation to him, and he even KNEW that I had just put in an order for twenty more boxes. He still acted like a complete and total jerk. Only when I ran out of the store in tears, did another associate (Mark) call me to let me know he would credit my other order for the 20 boxes to offset the cost of this damaged box. While I appreciate Mark for this gesture, I am disguted by how Jason acted. Definitely should never have this man in sales or any role that involves him interacting with other humans. I own three properties in San Diego -- and will never work with this place again. I'll make sure to spread the good word about Jason's level of service. WOW WOW WOW.

I purchased three slabs of marble for my kitchen, and after speaking with two independent fabricators, I learned that I would have to sign a release of liability for installation. Both fabricators explained that marble is extremely porous and prone to chipping and cracking, and they both advised that marble should never be used for a kitchen countertop. Anything acidic : lemon juice, vinegar, soda can dull and etch marble even when it has been sealed. Wine, citrus, tomato sauce, coffee, and oils can all leave stains or dark spots. If you don't use any of these in your kitchen, you might be safe; but if you do, they will leave a lasting impression. When I explained this to the owner and requested a full refund despite the slabs never being moved or fabricated, he refused. I even offered to pay $1,500 to be reasonable, but that was also declined. If that is the kind of business you want to deal with Petra Stone is the place for you.

This proved to be difficult as they don't have an easy way to search there inventory for this, the online portal only shows "total sqft" which doesn't help you know how long or wide it is. I had to look slab by slab, other companies were able to easily filter by this. I brought multiple different slab numbers to them to ask about and all of them were already reserved for other people. That was also time consuming versus them having a better way to identify products already on hold.

Then my designer and I met and chose the best flooring for my home.... It was not from Floor Store and Design. However Josh said he could get it for me... and he could get it at a better price. He did just that. He even delivered a sample to my home so we could compare to the sample I had picked up elsewhere... and Floor Store and Design price was lower! What surprised me about working with Josh and Door Store and Design? I thought Josh was a salesman.. He was much more than that. He was hands on in working out details of installation. One example: I found a baseboard I liked at another place, and Josh was able to order that for me at same price as offerings at his store. He also made a personal visit at end of work to check details before I made the final payment. I also had new doors installed, and Josh coordinated work with the door contractor for smoothest completion of floors, doors and baseboards installation. It was important to me to work with a full service floor store to ensure best results. The installation team Josh sent was professional, efficient, and did a great job! Floor installer Jonathon and team were great ... always showing up on time, cleaning as they went, and were friendly and easy to have around. Most important.. they were perfectionists in their work. I learned that Jonathon had learned the trade from his father and is now working with/training his brothers. Josh's installers obviously take great pride in their work and Josh also takes great pride in managing Floor Store and Decor-Point Loma.

They took the time to source and send multiple rounds of samples, talk through options with me, and really try to help us land on the right direction, despite not knowing me or whether the project would ultimately move forward with them. What stood out most was their professionalism and kindness. They treated the project with care and attention, even though it required extra coordination and didn't follow a typical, straightforward path. In the end, we needed someone local who could be on-site with my parents to guide the final selection in person, which wasn't a service they were positioned to provide given the distance. The process can be really stressful for a home owner but I am so happy with the result. This will not be the cheapest quote you will get; they are more expensive than other places, but I have heard too many bad experiences and unnecessary delays from other installers. This went so smoothly and I never felt nervous about the project.

However, Bani did not ever tell us he planned to build veneer cabinets. Beware of this business.

About a year and a half ago we bought a condo on the first floor. We knew that there would be some…read morenoise but it was really bad. You could hear everything and it sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. We talked to neighbors and and found out that the people above us had remodeled their condo and had put tile flooring directly on the wood sub-floor and did not put any sound barrier matting in between the tile and the wood sub-floor. Since we have an 8 foot ceiling we went with the low-profile isolation clips (RSIC-1 LP). We followed Alex's advice on installation and my drywaller had installed something similar prior. It was a big project but the results are amazing. By using Sound Away's clips, Green Glue, and Acoustical Chalking we have almost eliminated all noise from upstairs. Very Very Happy.
