I called Priority Doors and Windows on Friday afternoon July 11th at around 3:40 pm with specific questions about a product -- a window type that I was looking for. I was routed through their phone system and the person who picked up my call said his name was: Stephen. I spent about 10 minutes talking to Stephen posing very specific questions about the window type I was looking for and why. I wanted to get a feel for the type of product this company sold and if it was worth a trip to visit their showroom (as I did not live nearby). As I attempted to end the phone call, Stephen asked me for my email address. I declined to provide it. Then, he asked me to set up an appointment with him for next week. Again, I declined. That is when Stephen became IRATE. He angrily shouted at me, "This is not some fly by night operation here, we are a legitimate business." He then added that I needed to make an appointment to ensure he was available to meet with me when I showed up. I told him that if I showed up and he was already with a customer, then I'd just ask someone else for help. That seemed to make him even more angry. At that point, I remembered I had read that the window business was a HIGH PRESSURE sales industry-populated by salesmen who were paid a COMMISSION based on how many windows they sold. I then understood why Stephen became so irate. He had spent 10 minutes on the phone with me and had NOTHING to show for it. I told Stephen I would not be visiting the showroom OR be purchasing windows from his company due to his angry outburst and hung up. What Stephen did CROSSED A LINE. Providing an email after a short call should be optional, not DEMANDED. Stephen tried to pressure me, and then guilt me into giving him mine and when he didn't get it, he exploded. Insisting on making an appointment for a possible walk-in? That's PRESUMPTUOUS. And then... yelling at me? Telling me I'm somehow disrespecting the business? That's not how LEGITIMATE professionals behave. Stephen lost CONTROL-- which made me feel UNSAFE and BULLIED. Salespeople often rely on claiming clients to get credit, and some companies have TOXIC environments that encourage aggression when leads go cold. Good salespeople know how to manage that professionally. Stephen prioritized his paycheck over my well-being, and that is never okay. Here is some FREE advice on how NOT to get ripped off when buying windows: 1-Get at least 3 quotes -- and not just from the big-name national brands. Check out well-reviewed local contractors or installers who source windows from reputable manufacturers. 2-Request Itemized Pricing : Ask for the cost per window & installation separately. 3-NO Pressure Sales :Start the appointment with the following statement: I will not be making a purchase today. 4-Look for independent window installers: They do the same quality work for a fraction of the price. Bonus Tip: ask the salesperson: "What's your markup on this quote?" AND "Can you show me the manufacturer and model number of the windows you're quoting?" These questions throw off a lot of salesmen who rely on ambiguity and vague branding. read more

We started looking for windows and sliding glass doors over a year and a half ago. Stephen C helped us from the very start and went through all of the door and window options which we were able to incorporate into our remodel. Starting with the windows and doors before we had finalized our plans allowed us to build the house around the sliding glass doors, this allowed us to achieve the look and functionality we wished to encompass. The remodel and permitting process with the city was long but Stephen kept in contact the entire time and offered his help and gave suggestions. We were interested in getting a Fleetwood sliding door and pass thru kitchen window for our home. However, due to Covid pandemic, we were unable to move forward with our project having to postpone. I thought I knew what I wanted and needed but talking things in person with Christian was super helpful - he reeducated me on things and helped me understand what I really needed, which was just a slab door and not a prehung. He was more than happy to refer me to other places that were perhaps better suited for my needs. Additionally, he offered me some water, which albeit a small gesture, it meant a lot since I was admittedly parched. For starters we had a very difficult project to outfit with doors and windows. We spent several hours researching and working with other vendors to finally find Priority. We met with Andee B. and with his expertise, we were able to lock down a matching window and door package using Fleetwood Sliders, Marvin doors, Milguard fixed glass, and Anderson 100 series composite. The blending of all the different manufacture's was serious reach form our perspective yet Priority was able to very closely match the black finish we were looking for. Again, Andee was the key organizing the package as there were Milguard trapezoid fixed windows right next Fleetwood sliders and they match near perfectly. I needed all new windows for my home and my contractor referred me to Priority Doors and Windows. Not only were they very patient with me as I changed my mind often, they were great with taking the time to explain the ins and outs of each kind, what the difference is between vendors, etc. It was very helpful to see/touch/use all of the displays in their showroom so I could get a better idea of what I needed for my remodel. I am very happy with my selection, I went with Marvin for all of my windows. I was so impressed with the Priority Showroom I also found the perfect bi-folding door to replace an old patio door and am very excited to open up the space almost the full distance of the wall. Instead, after extensive consult, he recommended competitor's brand because his contract did not allow him to sell the exact doors that I needed for my situation. Priority deserves some Yelp love because the value of the services I received far outweighed the money I paid. When one of my windows nearly fell out of its frame, I had no idea how to fix it. All I could tell was that mechanism on the side of the window had snapped. I found the window brand (Milgard), went to their web site, then found Priority as the nearest service provider. Upon arrival, I was greeted right away, and within minutes they figured out the proper replacement parts. Sunny Normandin was a great help. One week and $12 later, I have my new parts and my window is fixed! If only all of life's little problems could be solved this easily. A previous reviewer noted the 3% charge for credit cards, which is consistent with my experience. I don't think that's "sly", but rather the norm for the building products industry. read more

We have used Priority Door & Window several times with excellent results. Several years ago we ordered doors for our apartment building's hot water heater closet. They were all different sizes and when they arrived and were installed by their recommended installer everything fit perfect. Next we used them to replace every window in our house which is about 20 and again the job and end result was perfect. We were so happy with their service and professionalism that we ordered new windows for our son's home in Long Beach. Again the fit was perfect on all of the windows and used their installer again and the job turned out beautiful. We have always been treated fairly and with utmost professionalism and recommend this company for those in need of doors and windows I noticed a review that complained that they offer a discount and was upset that it was only on check or cash. The worst customer service ever. They referred a contractor that they use all the time. He measured the retrofit door sizes incorrectly. Then he didn't have time to install the doors, causing me to hire a new contractor. The new contractor had to take out the frames that should have been used for the retro, build out the new framing (3 and 4 inches on each door) and then all the finishing work. Priority is saying it's not their fault that their referred contractor mis-measured and pretty much too bad. I will never recommend Priority to anyone. read more

We spent months shopping for new windows in our 1947 brick craftsman home. We especially needed new windows for our little boy's bedroom (all of our windows were original single-panes, circa 1947, yikes!) We also wanted to work on sound deadening, and to complicate matters we wanted some sort of built-in blackout shades. We got several quotes, but no one seemed to really fill us with confidence until we met with Mike Schott at Priority Windows. Mike was awesome! Which is good, because I suspect we were a pain in the ass - with some many worries and requirements. We went with top-notch windows from Marvin. Custom made with 2 different thickness of glass for sound deadening (Mike's idea), and built in blackout shades that slid down from the top, and also up from the bottom. To further complicate things our exterior walls are made with an unusual brick, which means there is no wood frame to nail things into! We needed a specialty installer, and Mike had the guy, Roger Fitch. Roger runs a small contracting group that is entirely staffed with older guys, contractors who've run their own firms but now want a slower pace. Gobs of experience! The windows arrived quickly, and the install went smoother than I could have ever expected. Mike deserves the lion's share of the credit here - he spent so much time with us, going over every detail of the windows, their structure, every little bit. The showroom is also super-useful, every sort of window and door is installed inside their shop - it really made things so much easier for us. We still have the rest of our house to "window up" and Priority Windows is our go-to place. We wanted the best windows we could afford, and as we added features, we ended up taking away rooms for a later install. Mike was a trouper, and worked with us throughout. Thank you Mike! Skip, the Owner just hung up on me. I had a feeling when I walked in that this place was not right. The guys were all looking down- really no confidence and kind of a wimpy feel to the place. After an error in ordering my windows which I brought to their attention prior to signing off the order, The owner offered to let me re-order windows after they ordered them wrong in the first place, said he would pay half of newly ordered windows. I said I did not want new windows ordered just half the price back. The owner said no, come get your windows and hung up. I called back and got the secretary who was really nice. Contractors beware! The refund I am asking for is just $90 dollars. Definitely they will not admit when they are wrong. read more

Customer Service is very important to me when i showed up to there showroom their house i call it. They treated me like a friend and everyone welcomed me. The process was smooth and on point. Priority is in the business to make their commission only. They want full payment up front, which I paid for all the windows and doors, I ordered a customer entry door for over $12,000 and La Cantina Doors for over $15,000. Jeld-wen windows and doors. The salesman, Jason never came to my job site, a 50 minute drive. Jason never took charge of the La Cantina custom door which was delivered in the wrong size and color. More so, Jason never communicated with either my contractor or us. In fact, I returned a call to Jason and it took 3 days and me calling again to follow up. Also the entry door came in with the swing in the wrong direction. 3 projects, two mess ups! read more
