I cannot stress enough how much of a mistake it was to choose San Diego Custom Cabinets for our kitchen cabinets on an Encinitas project. The workmanship is absolutely appalling (bad). The cabinets started showing signs of wear and tear within just a year. Some panels (dishwasher) corroded and started peeling. The gaps between panels were uneven and unsightly at time of build but especially over time became worse, and to top it all off, the cabinets have actually changed color over time, going from a dark brown (walnut) to a tiger orange. It's obvious all materials were of the cheapest and lowest quality, but beyond that the company's response to these issues was to push back and simply state the warranty period had expired. I should add, it was not only the faces of the cabinets that failed miserably, but the boxes were poorly constructed, including cheap/failing hardware (like the trash pull out which constantly fails (hardware becomes loose and needs to be manually tightened monthly). At this point, we've had no choice but to demolish the entire cabinetry system. We have incurred massive costs (since prices have dramatically changed) and our clients are displaced during this demo period. I'm beyond disappointed with this purchase and this company and would strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. As a company and brand, we will not be working with SD Custom Cabinets in the future. We will not be endorsing them. And if actual or prospective clients ask for our vote of confidence or recommendation, we will point them to this review.

After 6 months, area around the kitchen sink area. We have been very careful about wiping down the area but yellowish water stains are definitely there.

One of those was easy to let go of - the person who visited our house had strange personal habits and felt comfortable sitting on our bed and brushing pencil eraser bits onto our pillows. The second one came really close, and it was a hard final decision. They offered a different approach than Tailored and there were strong points to both. In the end, the connection we made with the designer, Nick, and his willingness to dive into the challenge, won us over. With our input, he came up with really great custom concepts including an entryway closet that had a couple elements that they don't typically do. One was an area where mail could drop from the mail slot, and the other was slide out shoe trays. We still look at those and smile. The on-site installers were great. The lead installer Cassidy was our main point of contact and did a great job. We'd done some other renovation prior to the closets, and our expectations for communication were formed by those other contractors. He was respectful throughout the install, patient with our questions, and always let us know what to expect. Personally, I also appreciated the way he worked with the other installers, too. He looked like a good mentor for the others. Kudos to him and the rest of the team, Luis, Kevin and Ismael. I'll be surprised if Luis isn't in a leadership role there soon! The installation was so professionally done, with plumb walls and level shelves, that it revealed how unlevel our flooring is. When that left some gaps, the company recommended a solution to mask that without changing the original design. Cassidy came back out, assisted by Victor, and made those updates in just a few hours. I had a very disappointing experience with Shugarman's Bath Company…read more I first met their representatives at a local festival, where they advertised that they would provide a completely free bathroom design if I agreed to a home consultation and listened to their sales presentation. I specifically explained that I was interested in a full bathroom remodel, not just a shower replacement. Based on those representations, I agreed to schedule an appointment. When the salesperson arrived at my home, I was surprised to learn that the company only focuses on showers and does not provide complete bathroom remodels or custom bathroom designs as I had been led to believe. Despite realizing early in the appointment that their services did not match what I was looking for, I still sat through the sales presentation because I understood the salesperson was giving up his time to be there. The presentation lasted approximately an hour and a half. At the end, I was given a very expensive proposal, but no picture of how the shower would look like. When I followed up and requested to receive a picture of how the of the shower would look like as I was promised, I was told that they do not provide designs and that I should simply look at photos on their website (this statement came directly from Mr. Jones who was the lead design team. This was completely different from what was presented to me when I agreed to the appointment. I felt the advertising was misleading and that the primary goal was simply to get a salesperson into my home rather than provide the service that had been promised. I was also told that I could receive a discount if I left a positive review, which made me question the authenticity of some of the company's online reviews. Additionally, I was offered what was presented as a "free vacation" if I agreed to move forward with their proposal. However, as the details were explained, it became apparent that this was not truly a free vacation but rather a promotional offer tied to a timeshare-style presentation. This felt like another example of marketing that was not fully transparent upfront. Throughout the appointment, I felt significant pressure to decide on the spot. The overall experience reminded me of a high-pressure car dealership sales environment, where the focus seemed to be on getting a signed contract rather than understanding my needs and providing the services that had originally been promised. I believe companies should be transparent about the services they offer and should honor the commitments made to potential customers. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

We just completed a master bathroom remodel with SD Wood Kitchen & Bath and couldn't be happier with the entire experience from start to finish. Sabrina was an absolute pleasure to work with; thorough, responsive, and genuinely thoughtful throughout the whole process. She answered every question we had (and we had a lot as first-time remodelers!) with patience and care, and always made us feel like we were in good hands. Mike, who handled all the installation work, was exceptional. His craftsmanship speaks for itself, and we really appreciated how considerate and professional he was throughout. He kept the workspace incredibly clean every single day, was always punctual, and was collaborative and communicative at every step. After doing tons of research before we started and meeting multiple contractors all over San Diego, we realized in this project how rare it is to find someone who takes that much dedication in both the quality of their work and in the experience of the homeowner. We are so thrilled with how our bathroom turned out and are already looking forward to working with the team again on other parts of our home. Horrible experience!…read more Full kitchen & bath remodel. We chose Cabinets World SD for the cabinets. Primarily because the line they rep (Fabuwood) had the finish we wanted. Collene does not listen to the customers needs/wants. For example, she insisted the range go on the long wall -- the range would've stuck out into the pathway between two other rooms, which makes no sense. Had to force the design change. Additionally, she makes assumptions about the cabinet placement without checking with the owner(s). Example: cabinets came unfinished/unskinned on some ends because she 'assumed' they were against a wall. In the construction field, there's a process called 'Request for Information' (RFI) to clarify projects. (I'm in the construction industry on the design side.) Don't think she's aware of the purpose of an RFI. They demanded full payment up front. We pushed back on that and made the final payment upon delivery. Should've held back though until everything was unpacked and inspected. Some of the cabinets (Fabuwood) came damaged. Pieces missing, etc. She blamed everyone she could and took no responsibility for anything. It took so long to get all the missing & damaged components that we were considering having our installer move in. Of course, Cabinets World SD would not pay for the installer's extra time. Nor would they cover the additional freight costs from FedEx. The Fabuwood cabinets are OK. I don't think they are worth the premium price we paid and Fabuwood needs a better transport carrier as even some of the replacement cabinets came damaged the second time. All in all there are much better choices for cabinets in San Diego. EDIT: Never complained because I was concerned I'd be left high and dry getting the replacement cabinets, missing pieces, etc. The review stands.

The company under this new upper management only cares about collecting their payments, not about quality work and customer service. I contracted with them to reface my kitchen, and I have the following issues: * The cabinets do not match the bases. They even agreed with me and asked me for a paint bid, but then decided that they do match. * The laminate on the bases is already delaminating and it hasn't been a year, in some cases hasn't even been a month * Poor quality parts were knowingly used for warranty work, which resulted in them telling me they would need to come back before they ever even finished. At this point, I think the poor quality workmanship and use of broken materials is intentional. Additionally, they make it very difficult to get work done in the afternoon, as they state they only work until noon. See attached: Statement of information that details the change in management that took place January 2025 Screen Shot from CSLB License Board detailing that their license (639021) is subject to cancellation if a new qualifying person is not replaced by 4/2/25. Screen shots of emails for them requesting a paint bid and then stating that everything matches. Text messages with the now CEO and CFO detailing that installers only work 5 am to noon. I'm beyond disappointed with this purchase and this company and would strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. As a company and brand, we will not be working with SD Custom Cabinets in the future. We will not be endorsing them. And if actual or prospective clients ask for our vote of confidence or recommendation, we will point them to this review.

I worked with Cabinets and More to replace a couple of broken cabinets in a weird-shaped area in my…read morekitchen. The area required that one cabinet be disassembled and cut to fit the space and I was initially going to do it myself to ensure that it would be done right. I went through several bids and talked with several companies about this, and Cabinets and More got the bid because Harry, their project manager, demonstrated a genuine caring for the quality of the work done. He personally went to my home to check my measurements and scheduled a prompt install that worked around my countertop install. Juan, Ken, and Tian did a wonderful job on the install - everything was level, plumb, and sturdy, and everything fit perfectly despite the level of customization required. The cabinets are very good quality, made of solid wood and sturdy hardware. I would use Cabinets and More again in a heartbeat. Their personal customer service, careful installation, and quality product at a fair and reasonable price is something you can't find elsewhere.
